Baubles

"Human, what is the purpose of the head covering you are wearing?"

"This? It's a hat, it keeps my head warm."

"Yes, I understand that, but why does it have a ball of strings on the top?"

"Oh, that? It's called a bauble, or a pom-pom. They're mainly used for decoration, but I've heard they originated with sailors, who used them as a sort of sensory extension so they'd know when they were about to hit their heads."

"That is BRILLIANT. Can you show me how to make one?"

"You knit?"

"Sure! Loads of us do! Knitting is one of the most basic ways of turning fiber into cloth, most sapient species have something like it. Show me how to make this 'bauble.'"

*a few weeks later*

"Do you like it?"

"Um... yeah, it's great. You really like baubles, huh?"

"I love them. I posted a tutorial video online, it's well on its way to being the new fashion."

"That's... great bud. Good for you."

Shop Update!

I've started a new series of pom pom plush--keychains!!! I'm still recovering though no longer sick, but my ability to make stuff is a little slower, so a simpler style seemed like a good way to go! :D Sill gotta try and pay them bills, haha. As always, the cheapest price is on ko-fi, but they're available on all my storefronts!

Exclusively on ko-fi though is a wee little Kuroneko (Trigun) with the manga's white eyes, and a Jiji (Kiki's Delivery Service) keychain on the kitty listing! I haven't had the time to make one yet, but the Jiji keychain is like Kuroneko except purple inner ears and a wee little dark pink nose! Check 'em out if you like :D

Who doesn't love beta pokemon? I especially love Kotora.

I finished these last weekend, just put the finishing touches on the embroidery. I'm so rusty, I haven't done embroidery in centuries! The pompom was pretty easy though, this little one will be sitting in a mini berry basket on my desk.
