From Whom all Blessings Flow

It's Sunday morning, the Lords Day. As my husband and I embark on a new phase of life (retirement) in a state of much change and transition, it's through God that we seek direction and footing. Much as a frightened child who reaches for the comforting hand of a parent, we reach to hold God's unchanging hand. God, from whom all blessings flow, and the creator. Psalm 148:13 James 1:17

"Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below; praise him above, ye heavenly host: Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost."

note: The words to this hymn were written in 1674 by an Anglican Bishop named Thomas Ken. The melody is even older than the lyrics. Another hymn set to this melody appeared in the 1551 Edition of the Genevan Psalter, which is one of the oldest hymnals that still exists. Today, we often call this hymn “the Doxology”. The word doxology comes from two Greek words: doxa – meaning “glory”, and logos – meaning “speaking”. Therefore, a “doxology” is an expression of praise which gives glory to God.

Regardless of our circumstances, regardless of what we feel, regardless of what we think, God is good. #godisgoodallthetimeandallthetimegodisgood

Is God still good when...?

Our circumstances do not define God's goodness. God's goodness is defined by His character. #godisgoodallthetime

Praise God through every situation, every trial, every test, every circumstance. Praise will confuse the enemy. #praisegod

Finally!!!!! ✨ Since college, I dreamt of getting my own copy of the ESV Study Bible. Why? I don't really know exactly, but I have this vision of myself immersed in the Word with this huge book in front of me. Also, because I had been longing to break free from the clutches of KJV... I have realised why Harriet has befriended me! We’re both chatterboxes!😝😂 You’ve no idea the joy I receive from my times with the birds I have befriended! I truly believe they are a gift from God to bring peace to my heart which anguishes so much at the hate and cruelty inherent in our society!
