vaguely fascinated by osana sov's naming choices. she chose for her daughter a name that can mean "bitter (strength)" or "lady" in two ancient languages (hebrew and aramaic) and for her son a name that means "old friend" in another ancient language (old english)

like every other golden age character has a name that's pretty normal by our standards, which tbh includes mara, then osana just names her other kid uldwyn. then again, even osana's name is either a variant of the hebrew hosanna or after an obscure and possibly fictitious old english princess-saint whose name means something along the lines of "godly solitude", so i suppose mara might be considered the odd one out

a common thing in my experience with indie horror (i'm specifically talking about video games and animation) is that a lot of it references other, often well-known horror stories. sometimes it's just a cute little "ahaha yes the clowns are from space" or a bloody elevator moment. but i'm not super familiar with a lot of popular horror (ie Stephen King), so there are a lot of things i won't get and i'll end up associating it solely with what i'm watching. a youtube analysis explaining all of the references can be helpful with understanding some of what i just saw, but i'm not going to re-watch it and go, "oh, wow, this is just one long rip-off of references." i'm going to go, "oh wow, this makes more sense with the newly-gained background knowledge. what an incredible work of art." art referencing other art to make new art or something like that. love it.

checked the work chat AFTER I GOT HERE instead of first thing in the morning as usual, and realized the boss has said "wow a lot of people are sick this week, feel free to work from home if you want."

My personal vision of Bianca in the Godswapped Percico AU was originally that she would die when Zeus originally found them, Poseidon only capable of pulling a last minute stunt to salvage Nico's life after he's already entered The Underworld, having to almost beg his older brother Hades to allow him to dip Nico in The River Lethe and bring him back up to the world of the living.

But Bianca's death is such a core aspect of Nico's and Percy's main conflict throughout all the series, that she definitely gotta be there.

So I think she would just join the Huntresses of Artemisa like in the original, and they wouldn't find out who her father is before her death.

Poseidon wouldn't gain anything from claiming her, it would be a meaningless gamble to take, so he just wouldn't take it.

I also don't think he would have any special deeper interest on Maria nor Nico either.

Bianca wouldn't be able to destroy the skeleton soldiers like in canon but she would split the ground open with an earthquake and send them back to The Underworld, accidentally.

It hurts Nico like hell when Percy doesn't come back with his sister, and he can't even complain, it's not like he wasn't warned against trusting Percy so much.

had an extremely vivid dream in the ten minutes after hitting the snooze button in which an impeccably-dressed british tutor with white-blond hair in a somewhat unfortunate haircut showed up at my door. he was very open about being transmasc, and joked about charging me 15% extra for it, but was instantly like "wait no i was joking" when i said "sure!" i showed him around campus, because for some reason i was a) back in college, b) studying... boston?, c) at a campus that looked exactly like my alma mater, and yet which d) was somehow still in texas

the clearest memory i have is of showing him an expansive food court (actually i think it was the cafeteria at my workplace) and him making the absolutely scathing comment about "can't imagine a better campus to get shot on"

so apparently in between hitting the snooze button and the alarm going back off, i met a really cool guy who, with the exception of needing a better haircut (it looked like a bowl cut) was instantly my best friend/potential love interest

and now i have to go to work
