The Rainbow Parrotfish is among the largest members of its family, and the largest in the Atlantic, reaching 3.9 ft in length. This fish species is known to have a home cave to which it retires at night or when danger threatens; it makes use of the sun as an aid to locating the cave.
Oh wow! My previous lil video post blew up! (Well, for one of my posts at least). And I saw a few people saying they like the name Citrus for one of my lil Mer dudes in Guppy Love.
So tada! Not a merboy, obviously, but the fish I based his scale coloration on: the Mandarin Dragonet.
I have to give credit to @meetthetank , @dragonfuckerllc and @kilouekas-photos for helping me find these lil dudes. I was looking for a tropical fish with ultramarine blue in them, and they certainly delivered!
Aren’t they so pretty??? >^<
Aaaaand have to thank my roommate for the name. It’a way better than my stand in name “Steffan” after Steffan Argus (I like his songs Ship in a Bottle and Abandon Ship) Not that it’s a bad name, but I like Citrus more. Plus it’s right there in the species: Mandarin Dragonet.
This is a Black Orchid Betta, he's been with us for about a year and a half now. He is what birthed my love for Betta's and aquariums. His name is Sonata and he gives Betta's a very fine name.
Sonata is like doberman mixed with a cat. He's a super personable critter, spending his time trying to find the best hiding spot around the tank. Pretending to be a leaf, flipping upside down even to get into some places. And like a cat he love to stare at you and much to every other critters fright this does not disclude them. You will find him following new comers around the tank very closely. Though they soon discover he's does no harm and soon they simply make sure to not to get to close and he accepts that they are doing no harm to the tank and leaves them alone.
At first Sonata completely convinced the giant robot eye was going to eat him. With some training though I managed to get these pictures. I hope I can teach him to do much more than just sit still for a picture in the future though.
One of my favorite crystals is Sodalite! 😁 His name is extremely fitting!
✨ Sodalite brings order and calmness to the mind.
✨ It encourages rational thought, objectivity, truth and intuition, along with verbalisation of feelings. Sodalite brings emotional balance and calms panic attacks.
✨ It enhances self-esteem, self-acceptance and self-trust.
