Ace pride hummingbird! I had a lot of fun with this one. I was primarily inspired by the violet sabrewing and marvelous spatuletail, both of which are very real and very cool birds native to Central America and Peru, respectively. Look them up if you haven’t heard of them, you won’t be disappointed. :)

the rainbow starfrontlet is a small hummingbird species found in ecuador and peru. they are named for the bright markings striping their forehead. females and males differ greatly in appearance; females are noticeably duller in coloration, have a longer bill, a less indented tail, and are overall smaller. like other hummingbirds, they primarily feed on nectar, supplementing their diet with small arthropods.

Bi pride hummingbird! This design mostly came about from my urge to paint more birds with fancy tail feathers. The real-life birds I used for inspiration were the violet-tailed sylph and the swallow-tailed hummingbird, both native to South America. :)
