Minor thoughts on Oisin and how he seems primed to fuck over Adaine specifically. The flustered ping-pong balls that were a plan all along. The quoting her own words on the previous Elven Oracle back at her in regards to the storm.
I mean...imagine you're a skinny little dragonborn wizard, in a class with a cute elven girl. You don't talk to her, but one of your adventuring party members is pissing thinking that party is getting preferential treatment, so you KNOW about her. You watch from the corner of your eye or from a spot on the back of the class whenever she's actually there. Partway through the year she goes to jail, and when she comes back she and her adventuring party save the world from a dragon. (A dragon of whom your Grandmother had been fond. ((Also, coincidentally, the Vice Principal.))) One of them created a god.
(Your entire party is being groomed into rage by two of your teachers.)
You're in her class again. She is the Elven Oracle, already an accomplished adventurer. She and her friends are popular. She's very pretty. She does not know your name. She does not know who you are, just a skinny dragonborn a few seats back.
You go on your Sophomores Year Spring Break Adventure and don't bother to think about her party at all.
(You and your party are going to kill a god. Your teacher is going to ascend to godhood in their place and you and your party will have Made That Happen. You are angry and determined with each final blow you deal.)
You return from Spring Break angry and with a sore chest.
You find out the elven girl's party has resurrected a dead god and the live streamed the entire fight. They must think they're so much better than you and your party. You'll show them.
(Your friend refuses to change her faith. She cancels the paperwork. The rest of you kill her, confident she will make the right choice and join you again as a proper Champion for your new god. You help kill her. She does not get back up. You hide the body and none of you can say anything. You're so so angry.)
The world descended into darkness and you can do nothing. The sun finally breaks across the sky again right before Junior year. You and your party have made plans and are on the cusp of greatness. You've gained muscles to spare and ink on your scales in carefully selected runes, no longer just a skinny little dragonborn.
(You have a new cleric. He's not your friend. He's a haystack hick from that cult-church from Freshman year, and he's here because the god you're going to kill needs a Champion and he fits the bill, nothing more.)
The first day of school the plan starts to be put in motion. Immediately that party of kids is interfering, in your way. It rackles. You push on anyway, seething inside even as you act the part of being reasonable.
You go to a party at the houses of one of her friends. You've been practicing making spell runes on the inside of ping-pong balls. You're ready.
The pretty Elven girl in your class finally looks at you. She approaches you, gives you a drink, and chills it in your hand. She has to ask your name. You have shared certain wizarding classes with her since Freshman year, tho she was barely there. You have to tell her that.
You chat. She clearly gets flustered, calls you great, and flees back into the house. Your friend teases you for others to overhear. It's a convenient excuse to use your geometry and apply physics to miss every single shot and lay your trap. The drink isn't so perfectly chilled in your hand anymore.
(You talk to her. Play nice. She isn't smooth, but she smiled at you and maybe a part of you is vindictive in seeing her flustered. It's a shame she turned down the diamonds, as dragon madness would have been so poetic. You steal her summons to steal something from the house. She didn't know your name. Didn't remember you. You feel justified. Your anger burns cold like frostbite, like static in the air. You purposely don't wonder if that first miss was intentional or genuine.)
You see each other in class sometimes.
You plot and kill monsters the woods. You will win the battle. You will win the war.
Your parties have a standoff in the cafeteria. You play your part to diffuse the situation, your teacher has been harping on your friends to stop antagonizing the other party. You feel her mind touch yours gentle probing of intentions, her friends all around her as you lock eyes.
(The devil's honey your group gets from that bee girl all goes to your teacher. He is preparing himself to ascend to godhood, and he needs it for his prayers.)
She is searching for your intentions and feelings. You tell her only 'Sorry'. She believes you. You are not entirely sure why. She and her party will hopefully die during their Last Stand exam, and have no way to revive themselves in time, be trapped there until after elections.
Maybe she just wasn't perceptive enough to see the deception.
(You hate her and all her friends. You have had no devil's honey. She believes you. Briefly, you wonder if it was a lie at all.)
They catch you. They know. Your team goes to ground and waits out the remaining days 'til elections and the culmination of everything you've been working for.
It rains at the party, and you have no more masks. You are angry. She must never have been that good of an Oracle at all, and you take joy in mocking her with her own words from long ago.
She's nothing more than an elven girl in your class who was full of herself to remember your name.
(There is nothing left now to stop you from being as openly angry as you like.)

avery as a boy mom head canons
@smalina requested this in the comment section under one of my posts so here it is! i literally had to remake this post bc it glitched just like my averyjameson one and i had to type everything again (cause i write everything directly on tumblr and not on google docs so i didn't have another copy of my work). not proof read bc im done with this. hope you like it!
she'd send toby postcards with updates on her son (or kids in general) like her mom used to do with him.
the pregnancy would be really hard on her. morning sickness, unbearable back pain, braxton hicks contractions (or however that's spelled)
he used to love picking flowers for her. he found out her favorites were orchids (also her moms) and started planting them in their garden. he surprised her with them one day and she literally cried
he always kisses her cheek before he heads to school bc, according to him, it'll be a bad day if he doesn't.
loves asking for fashion advice from her bc over the years, she's learned a lot.
they have a cookbook together with all of their favorite recipes.
she makes sure to include him in all of the family's decision making. like at some point, they were looking for a condo to sometimes live in when they wanted to escape hawthorne house, and they made him choose his favorite so that he knew his opinion was important to them.
he learned how to play chess at six like his mom.
they go on missions stealing pens from grayson's pencil collection together.
i head canon that he learned how to paint (thanks to grayson) and sometimes paints these beautiful landscapes for her to hang in their house.
she's literally his #1 biggest supporter. he'd learn all of his colors and she'll swing him around kissing his cheek. it makes him feel loved
speaking of her being supportive, he loves hearing her approval so much that when he learns something new, he'll hop on her bed at night and tell her all about it bc he loves hearing her congratulate him.
she pinches his nose when he isn't listening or gets distracted (really lightly but still)
he does his hmk with her a lot bc it helps him concentrate. they'll talk about each other's days and stuff and it makes him feel loved.
he used to make homemade cards and write messages in them for avery. he'd look up youtube videos to make them look special and stuff.
he once convinced her to get him a shirt that says 'i have the best mom ever' written on it.
he loves playing with barbie dolls with her. he especially likes going out to buy new ones with her bc they have a lot of fun judging and rating them
he used to do chores a lot to earn money (which he obviously doesn't have to do cause they have a lot of it but he likes feeling like he earned it) and he'd use that money to buy avery flowers or sweaters
she sometimes gets sad bc he asks her about his grandmother and she never knows what to respond.
he loves braiding her hair (just like i hc jamie does). he loves playing with hair in general (grayson's especially). he likes burying his nose in it and stuff.
she's super protective (but not in a toxic way). he once got punished at school for defending a kid getting bullied. she said such draw dropping things to the principal he revoked the punishment and made him class president (moral of the story, don't mess with avery)
she usually knows when jamie and him are pranking her, but she knows it means a lot to her son so she acts surprised.
they love looking at picture books together of jamie and her on trips when they were younger. he asks tons of questions and it makes him feel like he knew them when they were younger (they sit on the floor with tons of pictures around them laughing)
avery made him this board he can hang stuff on so that, whenever they go on trips and he gets a new souvenir (keychain or charm), he can hang it up there. he wants to travel the world when he's older.
when they go on trips together, avery puts him on her shoulders so that he can see everything. he's really curious and hates feeling excluded.
he loves reading and talking to avery about all of his favorite books. he's super into thrillers and murder mysteries.
she loves buying him sweaters because she finds them super cute on him and he loves them too cause they’re soft. she tends to buy them in green so that it matches his eyes (he has jamie’s eyes)
when he was really young (like newborn), she used to love playing with his hair. he didn’t have much of it, but what he did have was really soft and she found playing with it to be comforting
when he’d have nightmares, she’d cradle him in her arms and sing him to sleep. he found her voice super comforting and thought it chased away the ‘bad guys trying to scare him’
avery always had to change his clothes when he was younger. he used to undress himself and walk around naked all of the time forcing avery to put his clothes back on or he’d be spilling stuff on his shirt which avery would then have to replace.

I remember Jonestown. I was still in college, in Entomology, working on my collection for the semester grade. All I thought at the time was "religious whackjobs".
I remember the Ruby Ridge thing. And the Waco thing, with Bill Hicks broadcasting from the road out front of the place.
I remember the OKC bombing/McVeigh, I remember the warning there was going to be a huge militarized movement.
It was happening all along. The FBI was infiltrating these pockets of white supremacist shitbags who were all amassing large numbers of weapons and essentially run as "Religious Warrior" cults.
Add the Russians training the militia dumbshits.
And everybody points to Columbine as the beginning. No, it wasn't.
There was "I don't like Mondays" girl, when I was in college.
There was a kid before that when I was in highschool, probably '74-75, took his father's gun to school and offed the principal and a teacher and the kids that had bullied him.
It's been happening my whole fuckin' life. And I'm old.
I was eleven years old when Kent State happened.
People need to stop acting like this is some kind of new development. No.
The only 'New Development' is that they are no longer hiding.
They are openly declaring war on our way of life.
We have got to stop them.
They have got to be driven back under their rocks, and their ability to organize and their money funnels destroyed.
Then, maybe...we could talk about moving forward in earnest.

2022-23 Broadway Wigs
Starting off by mentioning that all the Six wigs are individually designed for their actors, with exact colors/textures/styles decided by what’s most flattering on the individual queen. That means that any new cast (especially in the US) could have totally new designs, new elements or colors/shades, or pre-existing elements but in a new combination. There are also times when wigs are totally standardized with the only change being the colors to match the individual queens’ hair (this is most commonly the case for Howard). And when I refer to US wigs or what’s typical for each role, I’m exclusively referring to mainland US (Broadway + tours). NCL is a totally different team and set of wigs.
There have also been quite a few changes between opening and the present. Anything that changes the overall look or design I’ll note, but anything in the vein of minor thinning or a very minor trim that isn’t particularly influential I won’t. Just know those things always happen a fair bit with new wigs.
Tumblr media
Hailee Kareem Wright
Hailee has a full ombré wig in shades of dark browns. Middle part with Dutch braids on either side. It’s longer and with a flatter back and sides than many Aragon wigs.
US Aragon wigs have some of the most variance depending on the queen. This wig is definitely noticeably individualized for her (and I have to give the design team props for this, it’s definitely one of my favorite Six wigs). The basic design is near-identical to Bre Jackson’s wig with the ombré and Dutch braids, but it pretty significantly differs from Adrianna Hicks’, who had primarily black wigs with very dark brown highlights and no braids.
Tumblr media
Leandra Ellis Gaston
First of all, a moment for the braids!!!! Truly was not expecting this and it was SUCH a welcome surprise.
Leandra has a full wig with hip-length box braids that are narrower at the front of the scalp but chunkier in the center back. Color mix is primarily black but has some very dark brown in there. Other than the braids(!!!) the middle part and space-buns are standard for US wigs.
Tumblr media
Bella Coppola
This wig is actually very interesting. At first glance it’s a very typical Seymour wig but it’s a pretty significant departure from US Seymour wigs and more in line with UK: the beehive has only really been seen in UK (which I talked about here), both the US and UK used to use center parts but this past year the US has been using side parts, and US has typically shifted towards a shorter wig than Bella’s. Color is more unique too; most of the US (+NCL wigs) have had a little bit more of a red/strawberry/warm brown tone, while this one is more in line with the blondes popular in the UK (lot of factors here at play that I’ll get into another time). There’s still more of a golden tone than the more platinum that UK usually goes for, but it is overall more in line with UK.
They’ve also changed the wig slightly over time: the size of the beehive has been increased and it seems like there’s been a shift towards tighter curls rather than the usual looser curls it started with (which are more in line with we’ve been seeing from other US casts lately).
Tumblr media
Nasia Thomas
Nasia’s wig has braids coming up from the sides and back to swoop into the top section that’s been left loose and to the right. Red highlights as (almost) always. It has been significantly thinned down with time (opening bottom right as opposed to top row from their performance a few weeks later).
The style is a significant change from Brittney Mack’s hair, who had her own braids with bleached highlights but no loose section and red added in only some of the time. The tour principals have had more of a mid range - braids up the sides/back and red highlights like Nasia, but the top section is still braids centered on the head rather a loose section to the side. The tour alts’ wigs all vary quite a bit with nothing identical but some similar elements.
Tumblr media
Zoe Jensen
Very standard US Howard ponytail with nothing particularly new or notable. Pink dyes differ a bit from queen to queen but that’s really the only variance for her!
Tumblr media
Taylor Iman Jones
Alright, here’s the one everyone’s been asking about. Taylor has a full black wig with some warm dark browns mixed in. She debuted a totally new hairstyle for Parr, completely different from anything we’ve seen before. At opening, the hair on the front right of her head was pulled over to the side and back, with all the hair on the left side of her face + the entire back bottom half down or to the side in loose curls. Since then they’ve thinned it out very substantially; the section on the left side of the face functions more like a ponytail (more like we’ve seen with Roxanne Couch’s old side ponytail wig or Sydney Parra’s wig) and the amount left loose at the bottom has been slimmed down.
A post on the alts (including Marilyn Caserta) will come a bit later - they haven’t all debuted and a few wig designs have been changing around.

Performance Stats: 2022 (mainland edition)
Alright, it’s (no longer) that time of year again! Summary of all 2022 calendar year performances stats!! - This was a CRAZY year full of cross-production covers + emergency cover chaos so very fun to write up. It also made it a bit of a challenge with organization. If an actor was primarily with one production but served as an emergency cover for another, I listed them with their primary or initial production. - Yearly disclaimer that some errors and/or disparities could exist. - And as always, if you repost/use these stats anywhere, please credit me @sixcostumerefs (or six.costume.refs on Insta) And as always....a shoutout to Dionne Ward-Anderson, who featured in the largest number of performances this year, at a whopping 353 shows! John Ross (Cherokee: ᎫᏫᏍᎫᏫ, romanized: guwisguwi) (October 3, 1790 – August 1, 1866), (meaning in Cherokee: "Mysterious Little White Bird"), was the Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation from 1828 to 1866; he served longer in that position than any other person ...
Described as the Moses of his people, Ross influenced the nation through such tumultuous events as the relocation to Indian Territory and the American Civil War ...
John Ross:
Koo-wis-gu-wi
John Ross of the Cherokee C. 1866
Cherokee Nation Principal Chief
In office, 1829–1866
Preceded by: William Hicks
Succeeded by: William P. Ross
Personal details
Born: October 3, 1790, Turkeytown, Alabama
Died: August 1, 1866 (aged 75), Washington, D.C.
Resting place: Ross Cemetery, Cherokee County, Oklahoma
Spouse(s): Quatie Brown Henley (c. 1790–1839) Mary Brian Stapler (1826–1865)
Relations:
Great-granddaughter Mary G. Ross; Nephew William P. Ross; Niece Mary Jane (Ross) Ross
Children - 7 : James McDonald Ross, William Allen Ross, Silas Dean Ross, Jennie Ross, Annie Brian Ross, Allen Ross, John Ross, Jr.
Known for :
Opposition to Treaty of New Echota; Trail of Tears; Union supporter during American Civil War,
Ross was the son of a Cherokee mother and a Scottish father. His mother and maternal grandmother were each of mixed Scots-Cherokee ancestry but brought up in Cherokee culture, which is matrilineal. His maternal grandfather was a Scottish immigrant. At the time among the matrilineal Cherokee, children born to a Cherokee mother were considered part of her family and clan; they gained their social status from their mother. The Cherokee absorbed mixed-race descendants born to its women ...
As a result, young John was raised to identify as Cherokee, while also learning about colonial British society; he was bilingual and bicultural. His parents sent him for formal schooling to institutions that served other mixed-race Cherokee. (According to blood quantum policy of modern times, he would be counted as one-eighth Cherokee, but this misses how he identified and was acculturated.)

Bruce Willis and Spencer Breslin team up to solid effect, in a film that produces amusement and wholesomeness. I find the premise very interesting, it’s a cool concept. While they might not executed to 100% perfection, what’s given is entertaining to see unfold. There are some very sweet scenes, also. Willis is, as you’d expect, the best part of this, but I think Breslin does a grand job too. The latter tended to do these sorta roles a lot, but there’s a reason for that as he played them convincingly. Emily Mortimer (Amy) is als...

Small Town Juicy Gossip
One of the fun things about being in a small town is how crazy the gossip can be. When you live in the middle of nowhere it can be quite boring, but what makes life entertaining is the local gossip. As someone who was constantly being watched in the town you can think you are being sneaky but someone knows. People would call my mother to let her know that they saw me at the store or out at the park with friends even though she knew what I was doing.
We have a small town newspaper that covers the county and it will put out all the people that have been arrested that week. You will be able to find tons of dirt on people just through the newspaper. Also it helps when you are friends with one of the reporters.
There is always gossip about someone cheating on their spouse with this person because they always make the rookie mistake of not leaving town to cheat. You will see public drug deals happening for the high schoolers, and the cops could care less so they just drive right on by. You have the local bar fights that are always entertaining.
There is the stereotype that when you are in a small hick town people hook up with their cousins, but in my town people hook up with their step brothers/sisters. You read that correctly. That is some of the juiciest gossip of all.
Lastly there is always school drama with someone making a kill list, or threatening to blow up the high school, or bringing a knife to school. We also have a popular story about the private school and how thousands of dollars went missing and the principal was fired on the first day of school. Makes you think quite a bit.

Do swings ever get scheduled shows (like consistently, not just when the principals are out)? Basically I mean is there anything in the contract that says the swings will get to go on at least once every 2/3 weeks?
Every union/team has slightly different rules.
On the West End, actors can only do 8 shows a week (per the Equity pay scale that Six follows). For just about every week they have 9 performances. So, each actor has to have at least one scheduled school off every week. Those scheduled shows for which the principals are required to be off also doubles as the alts’ scheduled shows. Per the 2019-21 swalts’ contracts, the alts were supposed to have at least two scheduled shows a week (aka their two first covers), and the swings were supposed to have at least one show a week (picking up anything else). Of course the West End production rarely goes a week without injury/illness/holidays, so swalts are on way more than that, but that’s meant to be the minimum for a typical week. This rule also technically applies to the alts, including both shows where they’re backstage on standby and shows where they’re actually performing.
UK Tour has roughly the same system, but the principals are only required to have one show off every other weeks. Alts are supposed to have one scheduled show on each week, alternating between their two first covers. Not sure if they also have days off even if they’re just backstage/on standby too, and not sure how much swings are contractually meant to perform.
Broadway and the North American Tours don’t have any scheduled or guaranteed shows. They just get to go on when the principals are out of the show due to injury/illness/vacation/personal days. That’s standard for most US shows; some particularly demanding roles, like Satine, have an alternate, but it’s still not common. I will note that there have been a few exceptions here with Six:
- Abby Mueller was on an unofficial alternate schedule for a while, with Mallory Maedke and/or Keirsten Hodgens covering at least one Seymour show every week. That was always a two show day and most commonly Saturday matinees, but it wasn’t always. It was never officially announced.
- With other actors coming back from injuries and/or illness, Six has often used a temporary alternate system. Brennyn Lark only did one show a day for a few weeks while coming back from injury, with the alts taking over one show on every two show day (usually the matinee). Others have just taken off one of the matinees per week. Note that this is a very temporary solution; the longest that’s lasted for anyone is three weeks.
- When Hana Stewart joined Broadway, her contract stipulated that she’d get at least one scheduled show. Her contract was initially only for a months’ worth of shows, so under normal circumstances she may not have needed to go on at all, and that’s why that would have been built into that contract! But Adrianna Hicks had a scheduled vacation during that time period so they already knew she’d be taking several shows off during which Hana could cover; they didn’t kick any principals or alts off for a show just to give her that show.
Aus had the same system as US productions: no scheduled shows except for when the principals were unavailable.
NCL only does 3-4 shows a week, so there aren’t the same concerns about injuries etc. Those swings do have something in their contract about how many times they get to perform. I’ve heard different answers on how many shows they all get to do, but I know one show off every three months for principal is pretty standard for NCL, so the alts would basically get at least two shows per track if that’s the case. The show captains do have to have more shows off, so those alts do perform in those tracks more.
