Quinn entered the room with purpose, the door swinging open as he yanked the blinds apart, provoking an involuntary groan to escape your parched lips. You winced, turning onto your side in a feeble effort to shield yourself from the invasive morning sun. Your head throbbed with a relentless headache, and your chest was heavy with the tormenting sting of heartburn, a painful reminder of the back-to-back shots you had downed the previous night.

"Quinn, what the fuck?" you rasped, your voice muffled as you yanked the duvet over your head, determined to block out the intrusive morning light. It was far too early to engage in any sort of conversation, and it was definitely far too early to even think about getting out of bed.

He chuckled at your obvious displeasure, the sound filling the room as he continued to rummage through the dresser for a change of clothes. "Are you still good for lunch with J.T and his wife?"

You groaned again, squeezing your eyes shut as if that would magically make the pain go away. "It's too early for this."

"It's 12:30."

Cursing under your breath, you reluctantly peel your eyes open and roll onto your back. A sharp pang courses through your tailbone, prompting another expletive to escape your lips as you gingerly sit up on the edge of the bed. "Ow."

Quinn hurries to slip his shirt over his head, his attention immediately moving to you, his eyes laced with concern. "Are you okay?"

Your left hand reaches behind your back, and your fingers trace across an unfamiliar texture. "Something's on my back, can you check?"

You stand up, pulling your shirt up from behind. Quinn's strong hands grasp either side of your waist as he sits down on the bed to get a better look. A gasp escapes his lips as he sees the number '43' tattooed in black ink on your lower back. His fingers outline lightly over the clear bandage.

"What? What is it?" Your neck craned around, attempting to see, but it was no use; you could only catch glimpses of Quinn's hypnotic gaze trained on your back. You tried to think back to last night, but after getting into the Uber with your friends to head to the bar, it was all a blur of fragmented memories. The effort to recall only made your throbbing headache intensify. "Quinn," you repeated, a note of urgency in your voice.

He lets out an incredulous laugh, his mouth falling agape as he finally meets your gaze. "Baby, my number is tattooed on your back."

Your eyes widen as the recollection from last night finally etches into your brain. The dancing, the shots, the tattoo parlor. Your friend Anna had tried convincing you to get your nipples pierced along with her, but you declined, opting instead to get a tattoo, a tramp stamp if you will, dedicated to your lovely boyfriend of two years. "Well, fuck."

His hands gently twist your body around to face him, and now you stand between his legs, your hands moving to clasp around his neck. His eyes have darkened, a mix of desire and an intensity of love you had never seen before. Yet, there was a hint of nervousness and vulnerability in his gaze as he posed the question, "Do you... uh, regret it?"

After humming in contemplation for a few moments, you shake your head at him. "No." He appears to let out a sigh of relief at your answer, and his fingers press more firmly into your waist, drawing you even closer. "Do you like it?"

His teeth graze over his bottom lip, and his eyes rake over your attire. You're wearing an oversized Canucks t-shirt, his own, and some random boxer shorts, also his. Not only were you his, in the verbal sense of being boyfriend and girlfriend, but now you had also permanently inked his number onto your body. It's taking everything in him to not throw you on the bed and fuck you raw.

"Do I like it?" He reaches up to grab one of your hands, and he pulls it down to his sweatpants, allowing you to feel the hardness of his erection. You gasp at the feeling. "Sexiest thing I've ever seen."

Kissing Ace is familiar territory.

He kisses you soundly, makes it hard to think about the way he's slowly backing you towards your cot, breaking away to exhale as you topple together.

He slots himself between your legs easily, the warm slide of his palms against your thighs, to your hips. "Your hair," he says, grin tugging at his lips, "is an absolute mess."

You scoff, roll of your eyes ruined for the flush to your cheeks, the nervous curl of your fingers in the blanket beneath you. "Your fault, you seem to have an obsession with it."

"It's so soft though," he whines and you're tempted to fire back about how his hair often times seems softer and shinier than yours, but Ace has remembered what he'd been doing and distracts you with another kiss.

Your eyes flutter shut, hand rising to rest against the nape of Ace's neck before threading into his hair, delighting at the groan you get in response.

The slip of his fingers beneath your shirt makes you jolt, and though you try not to tense as his hands skim higher up, Ace still notices and pulls back. "I'm not hurting you, am I?"

You hate the guilt already flickering in his eyes and you shake your head, face burning hotter as you struggle to find the words. "It's not anything you did, I justㅡ" His hands slip to squeeze at your hips, a prompt for you to continue. "...I'm afraid you won't like what you see."

Ace is silent, and for a fleeting second, you're afraid that you're right ㅡ and then Ace is leaning over you, lips to your forehead. "I love you," he murmurs, "but you're an idiot."

You frown. "Aceㅡ"

"There is nothing that would stop me from loving you," he begins, cutting you off as he stares down at you. "I love you for you, [Name]. How you look under your clothes won't change that."

You stare at him, warmth blooming in your chest at the conviction in his expression ㅡ and then, because he's Ace, he follows it up with, "Well, unless you a cool scar or something. Then we need to talk, because I can't have you being cooler than me, you know?"

"Now you're the idiot," you huff, reaching to smush your palm against his cheek and feeling your heart stutter when he simply adjusts to kiss at your fingers, and then your palm.

It's hard not to shrink at the way his gaze drifts over every inch, nerves threatening to get the better of you before he exhales slowly.

"This is better than I ever imagined," he tells you, and you squirm at the slow drag of his fingers up your ribs, fingers spanning to map out your skin. You were woken up bright and early Christmas morning, Chloe’s excitement meant not getting to sleep in. Both of you had spent Christmas Eve with your families, deciding to spend the actual holiday together at Chloe’s place. When you both arrived home late the night before, the blonde had been persistent in trying to get you to open presents early but you resisted the begging looks, wanting to spend Christmas morning actually opening gifts. It’s because of that determination that you were woken up well before your alarm was set.

Your eyes fluttered open as you felt Chloe pressing kisses all over your face, whispering “babe” each time she pulled away. You squinted your eyes, the light from the sun just beginning to shine through your window.

“I'm up. I'm up” you repeated, groaning as you stretched your arms above your head.

Chloe beamed down at you and you couldn’t but match her smile, her excitement rubbing off on you instantly. The blonde sat back some as you sat up, her hands moving to grasp your face pulling you into a sweet kiss.

“C’mon, time for presents!” she grinned, pulling you with her as she got up from the bed.

The two of you made your way to the living room, the Christmas tree lighting up the room. Chloe all but pushed you onto the couch before separating the gifts you both had secretly wrapped and placed under the tree throughout the month.

There was no reason behind the order in which the two of you opened the presents, going for whichever your hand touched first. You went back and forth laughing at some of the gifts you got each other. A majority were things you both had mentioned but others were a bit silly or inappropriate.

You had picked up a small, neatly wrapped box that was sitting on the coffee table in front of you at the same time Chloe picked up a longer small box.

“Same time?” you winked, knowing you both had similar ideas based on the size and shape of the boxes.

You both started unwrapping the boxes you held in your hands. In the box you held was a bracelet that had 53° 28′ 46″ N, 2° 14′ 43″ W engraved into the underside. The coordinates were of Manchester, the city the two of you fell in love in. You sniffled to hold back tears, the city held great importance to you for many reasons, but most importantly it gave you this relationship that you were so grateful for.

You looked up from the bracelet to find Chloe watching you, she had paused opening her gift to watch your reaction. Your heart soared seeing the look of love in her eyes and you were sure you had a similar look in yours.

“Your turn,” you croaked, still feeling tears trying to escape.

Chloe sent you a small smile before her eyes fell to the half-wrapped box in her hands. The blonde tore the rest of the wrapping paper off, tossing it behind her to join the large pile of wrapping paper. The long black box creaked as the blonde opened it, displaying a necklace that had a piece of silver with your anniversary date on one side, and ‘i love you’ etched on the other side in your handwriting.

Chloe gently sat the box on the coffee table before pulling you into a hug. Her arms were thrown around your neck, yours wrapping tightly around her waist. Chloe’s grip tightened around your neck as she whispered “i love you too” in your ear.

The blonde pulled away first, blinking away tears as she did so. Chloe stood up from the couch, rushing back to her bedroom, returning as quickly as she left.

“You have one more, love!” the forward sang as she sat back down next to you, handing you a small box.

“Babe, I thought we agreed on a certain number.” you groaned, you should have known the blonde wasn’t going to listen.

“Shh, just open it.” Chloe rushed, ignoring your comment altogether.

You playfully rolled your eyes but did as she said. Inside the box was nothing but a house key which you held up with a confused look in your eye.

“I want you to move in with me. You practically live here already but now I want it to be official.” the blonde spoke, her voice quieter than normal suddenly feeling nervous that you would say no.

You lightly tossed the key onto the table and this time you initiated the hug. You mumbled “of course” in your girlfriend’s ear.

Chloe’s tightened around your body, nerves no longer a problem for her. This was the next big step in your relationship and she was thrilled to take it with you. The two of you spent the rest of the morning messing around with the gifts you had opened before ending the night cuddled up watching movies. You had made plans to start moving your things soon, wanting to finally share a space, officially.

Warden awesamdude entered cell 14:30 to supply prisoner Dream with ration of five potatoes. Prisoner asked for a new clock (destroyed, see Incident Report 33) and was refused. Prisoner displayed belligerent, uncooperative attitude. Warden conducted customary search and inspection of cell. Prisoner became increasingly irritable and refused to move from lid of chest during the inspection. Prisoner had to be physically relocated to search chest contents. Chest contains one new written book. Book appears to be written to visitor Badboyhalo during previous visit (see Visit report for Badboyhalo, January 30th, 2021).  Prisoner unresponsive to questions about book contents. Prisoner expresses sudden antagonism upon being presented with rations. Prisoner acts aggressively about supplied rations and throws them at Warden. Rations subsequently confiscated. Continued aggression required use of force from Warden. Prisoner refused to comply with verbal commands and continued to resist attempts at restraining the prisoner and ending aggressive behavior. Prisoner attempted attack on Warden and seized [Warden’s Will] (see WARDEN’S INVENTORY | Tools and Weapons) in ensuing altercation. [Warden’s Willbreaker] utilized to reobtain stolen weapon.

gwen is literally such a sweetheart.

the first time you had a conversation was when gwen had asked you if you had wanted to do a little study sesh with her for mid-terms. you had been assigned to be her lab partner and she didn't really do friends after ykw, so she had decided you were the next best thing.

turns out, you'd be moving up on that list to be the very best thing pretty soon.

being the only spiderwoman in her dimension while also having to try to not fail in school was hard on her. luckily for her, she always had you to take some stress off of her.

you, being the bright and smart student you are, helped her greatly through her academics, lending her notes and such as she often had to skip class to attend to her spider duties.

it was the little things you'd do that would mean the most to her. she noticed everything. those spider senses have their regular life advantages too.

she would catch you subtly sneaking glances at her in the middle of class, occasionally returning the glance as you smiled back at her, trying to play it off (it didn't work).

there were times when she was overworked and just overall done. and you were there to make things better.

"falling for me already, beautiful?" you softly smiled at a tired, overworked gwen in your arms. she had bumped into you and you could tell you had caught her off-guard by the way she quickly got up and her face flushed bright red as she mumbled a quick apology to you.

she was TIRED and even you can tell.

"ya need help?" you asked the blonde. "uh, yeah. that'd actually be a huge help, thanks." she said looking up at you, face still slightly dusted pink, matching the very ends of her hair. she passed a thick white book to you and the two of you walked down the hall to her next class as you made small talk.

surprisingly enough, after all those study "dates" you still haven't even gotten her number. she was always so focused in the work she was doing and you couldn't find it in yourself to break her cute expression when she was 'in the zone' so you just simply didn't.

unfortunately for you, that meant that you weren't gonna get her number anytime soon, if you kept waiting.

"you free for lunch?" you asked, as you arrived at the door. "nope.. still gotta study some more. you know how it is, stressing for this 43 open-ended question bullshit." "hey, private school rules." you shrugged and looked down at her books, quickly recognizing the one you were holding. "you know, you could always borrow some of my notes even if you need 'em." you looked back up at her. "of course, you'd have to owe me a favor later."

so, you decided to just stop waiting for a perfect moment.

ItaSasu Birthday Bash 2024

The Event

What is the event?

The event is an Itachi/Sasuke ship inspired prompt fest month style of event with a birthday theme. It is respectively for Itachi and Sasuke's birthdays on their own as well.

Do I have to sign up somewhere?

No. You can create works and post works at your will.

Is this a low stress event?

Yes. No pressure. Just posting Itachi/Sasuke or Itachi and Sasuke based content for everyone to enjoy.

How did the event start?

The members on the ItaSasu Discord server decided on the dates and put together a list of prompts. Prompts were randomly chosen and their dates. Originally, the idea of the birthday month fest was to celebrate ItaSasu during the time in between Sasuke and Itachi's birthdays. This year, we have opened things up for not only ItaSasu / SasuIta content but content that features either Itachi and Sasuke. This choice was made to give more options for creating works.

Content

What types of media are allowed?

Anything you want to create is allowed. Fic, art, comics, icons, edits, moodboards, manips, headcanons, physical crafts, media, video, audio, etc.

What does “birthday” mean in the context on this event?

Birthday can mean anything from singing a cheerful happy birthday to receiving a wonderful present. It can mean something fluffy and sweet with characters coming closer together. It can be sad feelings someone forgot their birthday, or life isn't going quite right on a birthday. Birthdays can be full of memories. It is a nostalgic time of the year. Birthdays naturally lend different moods or surroundings as the year pass and things change overtime. Itachi and Sasuke have a relationship which hits these changes with their age and experience, so you can hit whichever side of the changes you want to tackle.

Do I have to use the birthday theme in my work?

It isn’t mandatory to use a birthday theme as a central focus alongside your prompt. But in the same vein as the theme, you can make your work completely birthday-themed with the listed prompts so it does take place during the birthday occasions, or you can give your work nods to a birthday theme in spirit. We are flexible on how this is done and how you want to handle your prompts.

Are OCs allowed?

Yes. Put your OCs in your work in any way you want.

Can I create works for just Sasuke or Itachi on their own?

Yes. You can create works for them separately.

Which ships are allowed?

ItaSasu / SasuIta content is of course allowed! Ships that include Itachi and Sasuke in some way are allowed as well. For example, you can create Itachi/Shisui or Sasuke/Naruto if that hits your fancy.

Are polyamory/threesome ships allowed?

Poly ships which include either Itachi or Sasuke or both of them somewhere in the relationship dynamic are allowed. For example, a poly ship could be Sasuke/Naruto/Sakura or Itachi/Sasuke/Shisui.

Can there be background characters and ships?

Yes. You can include background characters or ships that don't have Itachi or Sasuke in them. Itachi or Sasuke focused content or a ship with them should still have some type of content in your work.

Besides Naruto, can I include works with Boruto, AUs, or crossovers?

Yes, you can include them in your works, or other fandoms.

What will not be tolerated?

Hateful, offensive, or inflammatory content aimed towards other participants or the subject of the event. As long as content doesn’t bash or insult other participants for the content of their work (e.g. ships, characters, choice of tropes) and stays relevant to the atmosphere of the birthday bash, you can create for it.

Prompts

How many prompts do I have to use a day?

At least one prompt. We have only one prompt per line this time, so this prompt should be the one that is used in some interpretation.

Can I do more than one work per day?

Yes, of course you can!

Is there a length requirement?

No. You can create a work of any length.

Can I mix the types of content I want to create?

Mixing media types for separate prompts, or for the same prompt, is fine. You can write a fic for one prompt and create art for another prompt.

Is NSFW or trigger content allowed?

Absolutely! Do what you want with NSFW tropes, kinks, or triggering content. We do not have specific content restrictions or ratings for what you can create, so any type of ratings is fine to create.

Should I tag my work for sensitive content?

We ask you to tag your work appropriately for content like violence or sexual themes across the platform you post your works on. Warnings for triggers and NSFW count. Redirect to other sites for NSFW content that can’t be posted on Tumblr, give warnings in tweets, or put cuts on content that might need a cut, etc. The ItaSasu Discord server has NSFW channels for NSFW content.

Does my work have to be new for the event?

Ideally, your work should be a new work for the event so your work can properly focus on the prompts we have provided here. All content should stand as a full work for the event and does not need other works for the content to make sense. However, if you want to draw inspiration from another work, you can use WIPs you haven’t posted yet or separate the entry into a unique and standalone work.

What should I do on the free prompt/break day option?

You can use any trope, kink, or idea you have in mind that otherwise appeals to you for a prompt of your choice. This day is helpful if you aren’t interested in the other prompts on the list or you want to work on something that might not fit the themes for ships or characters. Where can I post my work?

Anywhere you want! Tumblr, Twitter, AO3, FFN, Dreamwidth, etc. You can add your works to our ItaSasu Birthday Bash AO3 subcollection.

Can I submit my work to the Tumblr blog?

You can submit your work on the blog. You may send a message to us after a few days if we don’t post your work and make sure we received it, but we will do our best to post your submission as soon as we can. Submissions might close after the prompt period is finished and you won’t be able to submit anymore, so you’ll have to post those work entries without submitting them if that happens.

How can I make it easier to share my work?

Tumblr: Long posts can go behind cuts so it’s easier to share it. Put event tags in the first five tags. Submissions with NSFW content in the post may not be possible to post on the event blog since Tumblr doesn’t allow posting NSFW content, so please host that elsewhere and share a link to that content.

Twitter: Put warnings of important content in the first tweet of your thread, or at least somewhere that can be found easily if you post it in another tweet.

General: You should have content tags in place that can be seen.Include links to your works or tags. Art can have crops if you want to exclude NSFW in an image, and fics can have descriptive information like a summary or notes.

We may see your works in the tags for the event at some point, but the best way for us to see your late work is to tag us directly.

Who is....James Proudstar | Warpath? - A Reading Guide

James "Jimmy" Proudstar, is an X-Men affiliated character from Marvel Comics first introduced in 1984. Jimmy is a member of the Yavapai-Apache Nation, and was born in Camp Verde, Arizona. Jimmy grew up idolizing his older brother, John, who would die while on a mission with the X-Men, prompting Jimmy's own path into the world of mutant infighting. Jimmy's story includes topics around the mistreatment of indigenous people (including the medical experimentation that they've suffered), as well as dealing heavily with themes of grief and healing. However, given the nature of American comic books and the lack of diversity among writers, the comics do not always do a good job addressing themes and plots specifically related to Jimmy being Apache.

Many earlier comics do not accurately depict Jimmy's skin-tone or culture, so while in the graphic above I have adjusted some coloring, please be advised that in an unfortunately large number of the following issues...he will look white.

From Hellions to X-Force

Jimmy's first appearances are with the Hellions, a villainous group of mutants under the direction of Emma Frost. Jimmy joined their ranks following the death of his brother, John, when he was determined to get revenge on the X-Men- he soon found that he didn't fit in with the Hellions and returned home. Cable approached him about joining the New Mutants but he declined until he discovered that the Hellfire Club (of which Emma was part) had murdered his entire tribe. Now fueled by a desire for revenge against Emma Frost, Jimmy agreed to join the New Mutants right before they turned into X-Force.

After the events of Messiah War, Jimmy became embroiled in Necrosha (reanimated mutants were being controlled by Selene and the T-O virus). After fixing that scenario, Jimmy quit X-Force, stayed in Utopia after the schism, and would join the X-Men in a war against the Avengers. (This era technically includes Age of X, but Jimmy doesn't really...do much there so I didn't include those appearances).

A sequel to this.

For the first time in a long while, it's you who woke in a cold sweat. You who found yourself gasping for air, you who felt too hot and wanted to tear the sheets off your skin. You didn't do that, though. It would wake the sleeping form next to you. He got less sleep than you, so you wanted to make sure he got as much rest as he could.

You sat up, taking in your surroundings. It was still dark outside. You checked the digital clock next to your stand, the red numbers glaring at you, informing you reluctantly it was 3:45 in the morning. You took a deep breath, attempting to shake the jitters. They'd pass with time.

Carefully, you peeled off the sheets and his arm that had been gently wrapped around your waist. Leon shuffled a little, making you pause. Once his stirring stopped, you exhaled silently.

You entered the threshold of the kitchen and grabbed a glass to fill it with water. As you turned on the sink, listening to the water hiss as it filled the glass, your thoughts went everywhere. The last time you had a nightmare like that was when Leon hadn't returned your calls for two weeks. You were up late with furrowed brows, a pit in your stomach, and it all cultivated into worse pits of despair in your dreams. You would see his body, bloodied and bruised. You would run over to him and check his pulse only to feel nothing. Then you'd wake, clutching the sheets so desperately they almost tore.

You took a sip of the cold liquid once it nearly filled to the top. You only had those dreams a few times, but after he returned to you, they vanished as if they were smoke. This one was different, this time you didn't even remember what caused you such panic. Though you had a slight idea, and you wanted to brush it off as such.

"You alright?" The sound of his voice made you jump, accidentally slipping the glass of water from your fingers. It crashed to the floor, sending water and glass shards across the ground.

"Ah, fuck," you swore, heart leaping in your chest. You bent down in attempt to clean it up but he grabbed your wrist gently.

"No, you'll cut yourself, hold on." said Leon, calmly. You envied his calmness, startled to realize you were still shaken up by whatever plagued your dreams.

He grabbed the little dust pan you kept under the sink and handed it to you. You looked at him with guilty eyes. "Sorry."

His brow crinkled in confusion. "What for?"

"I woke you up, and now - " you gestured to the mess of broken glass and water - "you're definitely more awake."

Leon only shrugged, kneeling down to your eye level. "It's no big deal, you're not cut, are you?"

You shook your head. Your eyes met his, and it always amazed you how easily you could see his blue eyes even in the dark. They were full of love for you, even as you were cleaning, even with messy hair and tired eyes. He loved you.

"I had a bad dream, I guess." You explained, now sweeping the crystal shards into the pan. Leon had grabbed a paper towel for the water. "I don't remember it, but it still shook me so bad I woke up sweating."

"And you didn't want to wake me up." He's not asking. He's stating. You turned your eyes away from his watery blues.

"Well, you don't get as much sleep as I do, so yeah." You stood up once you threw away the shards, leaving the towels to soak.

"That may be true, but you're a giant hypocrite." He was referencing to when you helped with his nightmares just a few weeks prior. When you aided him when he needed you the most.

"Leon..."

He bended your neck slightly towards him to kiss your temple, then your forehead. "You said you didn't mind sacrificing sleep for me, so what makes you think I wouldn't do the same?"

"Because you're a heavy sleeper," you jested. He pinched your arm, and you yelped in protest. "Ow."

"I'm willing to make a few sacrifices, myself, you know. Eye for an eye."

You rolled your eyes. "That's not how that quote works."

"Doesn't matter, I'm being serious here." He cradled your face in his hands, and you immediately melted into his touch. Despite the rough edges his hands had, the calluses and the scars, they held you so gently, so tenderly. The gesture almost always made you burst into tears. Now wasn't any different. "I'm here for you. Doesn't matter what I'm doing, you know that." His forehead touched yours and you were now puty in his palms.

"Alright."

The corners of his eyes crinkled with a crooked smile. "And I'm not the heavy sleeper, you are."
