In honor of today being a sick day for Baby V, here’s some thoughts on the muses when they’re sick—

Astor: Hates it. Hates it so much. He, by some crazy luck, almost never gets sick, but when he does, it hits HARD. Everything hurts, fuck food, fuck the shirt on his stupid back—he just wants to lay down and not move until it’s over. But it’s Astor, so instead he just keeps working. Miserably. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ganondorf: Also rarely gets sick, but when he does, it doesn’t impact him terribly. His appetite is lower and he’ll tire quicker, but over all, he’s business as usual. Even so, he doesn’t risk it getting worse and usually drinks some healthy mixed drinks to help it pass quicker.

Rhoam: Sickness hits harder in his old age and he’s still not used to it. As a young man, he could take a run and “sweat it out” just fine. Now he’s laid up in bed for a good portion of the day, though he still does what he can while sitting up. He gets severe wet coughs and a bit of swelling, particularly in the legs.

Link: He gets sick about as often as your average soldier, though you wouldn’t know it. He’s known to work right through fevers with little indication that he’s not feeling well. He tends to want to eat more when he’s ill and loads up on carbs in particular.

Revali: He’s DYING—and he wants you to know it, but also, he’s still training, and he wants you to know THAT, too. Once he’s done training, he’s curled up in bed with soup for the rest of the day, lamenting how illness could befall one great as he.

Sonia: She gets very shaky when she’s ill, so there’s not a whole lot of hiding it. The sunshine is natures medicine according to her, so she spends a lot of time relaxing outside with fruit and food that’s gentle on the stomach. She’ll use the forced downtime to catch up on her reading.

Demise and Hylia do not get sick, for they are Gods

Religion, Renegotiation, and Critical Conflation

As much as I find the evangelical conflation with politicians and the person of Christ utterly heretical and off-base, I’m similarly dissuaded by the memes conflating politicians with the prophetic vision of an “anti-Christ.”

As a reminder, the early Christians (including the apostles) wrote nothing expressly concerning our day and age. The first Christian communities were utterly disenchanted by any notion of a distant future, being quite convicted that the eschatological vision preserved in scripture was unfolding before their very eyes, literally, within the natural lives of those numbered among them (Christ’s return etc).

To put it another way, there are no biblical prophecies that even remotely envision 21st century life, politics, or world events. Any application of scripture to life today is a re-negotiation of the text, a deference to the enduring capacity of the literature to enshrine something significant concerning human nature, even outside of its original and intended context.

The Christian tradition has been continuously reimagined by its adherents, and the meaning of scripture is re-negotiated constantly. This is a harsh fact for those of us who grasp for certainty, or objectivity, and who otherwise seek to surrender our responsibility and agency to an external authority.

We can certainly do that, but the sobering fact is that the authority surrendered by us is the only authority it carries (“it” being scripture, institutions, or individual leaders).

The Christian tradition, like all of the world’s wisdom traditions, is an open repository of human imagination, endeavor, and hope. And, as an object of psychological projection, it has gathered many gems in its storehouse, but it has also come to be associated with an almost limitless supply of poison and nonsense, which in our sifting (be it constructive, critical, or otherwise) must be identified and rebuffed.

Brown Hyena Prophecy And Symbolism

Whether the Brown Hyena appears in dreams, visions, waking life or synchronicities, it is a sign and message that divine/God is demanding an eviction, he’s sending in the plagues, your enemies are being arrested. They almost got away with it. They thought they could go away unscathed from what they did to you. Karma is catching up and the bill is now due.

The Brown hyena is a symbol and prophecy that you will get justice, when divine/God said, Vengeance is mine, he really meant that. When he said, his wrath shall consume them, he meant that. No one can get away with hurting a chosen one. It doesn’t matter if that chosen one isn’t perfect, because in God’s eyes they are. What they almost got away with, the reaper named Karma has come to collect. They thought they had their way with you, and now, it’s their turn. God is not about to play about you. The Brown Hyena is a reminder to check the people you are married to, the one you are having relations with. As there are some underlying truths about them that they are not telling you.

Do not take no for an answer. Get to the truth as what you feel is right on. Something isn’t right and no amount of positive reinforcements that are telling you that everything is good. Check into what you feel. Not every thought is an opportunity to blame overthinking. Some things really are what they seem. TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS. You cannot cover your intuition for the sake of being positive. Pay attention to the signs. When someone demonstrates that they are untrustworthy or that they cannot keep their word, take it and run with it. No amount of therapy can help an adult who refuses to change. You deserve better. The Hyena is a sign of deception and illusion. Someone likes the feeling of things being ‘new’ all of the time. They will never take into account of anything they are doing, it will be your fault and yours always.

The Hyena is a sign that you are doing more for someone than they are doing for you. And it is time to realize you deserve more in your relationships with others. It should be equal and love should feel good not sad. Keep in mind, that everyone has flaws, but healthy people work on their flaws, they are able to see the error within themselves and humble their ego in order to love you correctly. We all have work to do, but an healed and rigid person won’t do the work no matter how much pressure you put on them. It’s time to move forward, and know that the storm has just begun for those who have hurt you. Pick up the pieces and carry on.

Once you shake free of the people who are standing in your way, you will thrive. It’s only up from there. So, let them go and do not fear.
