after steven becomes affiliated with various legendary pokemon, i like to think that by proximity, he starts to give off some of the same energy they do. like, trace amounts, but enough that if you look at him for more than a moment, you might start to feel slightly unsettled. subtle enough that you might mistake it for intimidation, but it’s something else for sure.

edit: this ties in with the thing i posted ages ago wherein steven, in this portrayal, ages slower due to proximity to legendary pokemon.

Reasons I should/should not be allowed to name everyone's pokemon: a list that could be viewed eitehr pro- or anti- me nicknaming things.

-Lasagna the Makuhita

-Blink-182 the hoppip (hoppip. mark hoppus. Blink 182. yeah)

-Pete Wentz the toxicitry. Immensely funny when the game tells me i'm sending out my trusty partner pete wentz. I didn't even plan on keeping him on the team tbh, hence the shitpost name, he was SUPPOSED to immediately go to a box after the water gym, but turns out he stuck around and now I just ended up with the fall out boy guy on my team.

-Enoby the Gothitelle. Enoby Dark'Ness Dementia Way did not fit. My Immortal better last longer than the source material.

-Steve the Skeledirge. Steve Irwin you're a legend

cb's first pokemon was shinx (which has since evolved since it's been with him for so long) and crown's first pokemon was jangmo'o! crown is a liiiiiittle jealous none of their pokemon have evolved yet but also their team consists almost entirely of pokemon that evolve stupid late so they've kind of accepted their fate

cb didn't catch joltik the joltik caught him. it just showed up hiding in his usb port one day and he hasn't been able to get rid of it since

cb has pancham which can only evolve if there's another dark type in the party. michael has a dark type with hydreigon :) crown's larvitar also evolves into a dark type but uhhh that won't be for a while

crown only added yamask to their team recently because it wouldn't stop following them and they don't wanna piss it off by ignoring it but it also really freaks them out. guess it kind of ended up being an omen of their permadeath huh

i love making up patterns for myself (it's the autism) so michael and sean both having a mega, a starter, a pseudolegendary, and a ghost type (specifically one that's mentioned in the dex to guide spirits to the afterlife) was 100% intentional. maybe lumynex assigned those pokemon to them and the other half of their team they got to choose

also i'm definitely giving noah a grass starter once their design is finally revealed. gotta complete the trio

pipe bomb is kind of a chimera like dracozolt is... he's a phone slapped on a bomb and dracozolt is two different fossils slapped together..,

also pb has an ultra beast since he's from another planet, maybe on anthem xurkitree is as common as zubat is on earth or smth

i imagine pb had xurkitree, genesect, and type: null with him when he was alive and then got the rest of his team in the s*n since. he's been dead longer than he's been alive.., also that's why he has some Regular Normal Pokemon instead of like. a full team of ultra beasts (which was my original plan but i thought the vibes fit better for the other pokemon)

Pokémon pseudolegendary concepts for each type (more specifically the third stages; also, assume they all have a secondary type)

Normal - big, scary anthropomorphic wolf thing.

Fire - gigantic magma-dragon.

Water - sperm whale; the shiny is white, obviously.

Grass - big ent-thing.

Electric - living stormcloud in a roughly-humanoid form.

Rock - a god-damn therizinosaurus!

Ground - sandworm.

Ghost - Gashadokuro-like giant skeleton thing; the first stage is just a skull.

Ice - anthropomorphic woolly mammoth.

Steel - giant mecha.

Bug - gigantic spider.

Dark - big demon dude.

Fighting - King Kong-inspired giant gorilla, with a close ecological relationship to Tyranitar.

Fairy - humanoid thing that has a vague "fairytale giant" motif.

Psychic - weird flying jellyfish creature, kinda like Dogora.

Flying - roc-like giant bird-of-prey.

Poison - komodo dragon kaiju thing.

Dragon - long eastern-style dragon that evolves from two lizards, kinda like a reverse Dragonite.

I love it when friends have Favorite Pokemon that are a little less mainstream favorites. Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with having a starter or an Eeveelution or a Pikachu or a pseudolegendary as a favorite. But it always makes me feel warm and fuzzy when I think of my friends whose favorites are things like Banette or Hypno or Vileplume. Every Pokemon should be someone's favorite.
