“At 95, the Chilean-born cult director rejects being tied to a physical location or nationality, not even to this planet or to his own body. The concept of a city seems irrelevant to him. And when I ask him what he thinks of Los Angeles ahead of his upcoming visit, he replies with a cheeky query of his own.
(…)
Talking to Jodorowsky is a metaphysical experience. His brain-expanding remarks about humanity’s status in the cosmos often require some contemplation to digest. For example, take his lyrical musings on why film continues to entice us.
“Cinema is an opening to creation,” he says. “We are tired of being locked in a physical body. We want to open ourselves up because we see free bodies everywhere, in the seagulls flying or in a gram of dust that the wind carries.”
(…)
His heady statements match what he’s put onscreen and on the pages of his comics over the last 60 years. As esoteric in meaning as they are mesmeric in their imagery, the films of Jodorowsky are modern-day fables. To enter them is akin to walking in a dream where one must accept a bewildering logic.
(…)
Hallucinogenic cornerstones of the original midnight-movie scene, Jodorowsky’s work has long been an expression of countercultural transgression, the kind that could be called a trip. There’s always a visual dialogue between carnal desire and enlightened thinking.
Why does he think his movies have endured over the decades?
“Because they are true,” Jodorowsky says, with stark conviction. “They were not made by producers. They were made by people who love art. When they watch them, people always say, ‘These films are more modern than what’s currently out.’”
Still artistically active, Jodorowsky has a full schedule in Los Angeles. Apart from doing Q&As at his screenings, he will present an exhibit titled “Another World,” featuring paintings co-created with Montandon-Jodorowsky (under the joint moniker pascALEjandro) at Blum Gallery.
And to top it off, he will host a screening of his 2019 documentary “Psychomagic, a Healing Art,” accompanied by a masterclass on the therapeutic practice he devised using creativity as a vehicle to heal both emotional and bodily ailments. Jodorowsky’s book on the subject, “The Way of Imagination,” hits shelves later this year.
“It is a free healing that comes out of my love for humanity,“ Jodorowsky says of psychomagic. “A human being cannot achieve what he wants in this world or in others if he does not do acts of love.”
(…)
Never one to mince words, Jodorowsky declares that movies are in a period of decline, especially what’s coming out of Hollywood, a system he calls a “prison” and one he would never subject himself to.
“I’ve made 10 films, which for a film director is few,” he says. “Another may make 100 movies because he makes fairy tales. He can repeat himself. There is no huge mystery to discover in those films. Real art is not about totally entertaining the viewer but about changing their life.”
(…)
He cares little about materialistic notions of success. “Look at me, I am 95 years old and I’m here talking so much stupidity,” he says with an infectious smile. “I’m having fun. And if I can have fun, I succeeded. I’m not suffering. I’m happy to be creating in every possible way.”
At his age, Jodorowsky’s thoughts often turn to what’s next for him — not professionally but when he transitions from this plane of existence and ascends into something greater.
“I am condemned to spend less time on Earth,” he tells me matter-of-factly. “I have fewer years left than you. Because you have a black beard and I have a white beard. White indicates less time alive. I have to accept that, but I’m not in decline yet.”
Even when his mortal body no longer shares this space with us, he plans to refuse to disappear.
“I will not be an immobile skeleton,” he says. “I’m going to be something else because I believe that there is eternal life. You and I are going to be talking in a different way. We’re going to talk for thousands of years. That’s my hope.””

“The worst grotesque situations: believing one knows oneself, believing one knows everything about some topic, believing one has judged with absolute impartiality, believing one will love and be loved forever. In conversation, people think one thing and, in trying to communicate it, say something else. The interlocutor hears one thing, but understands something different. When answering, one does not respond to what the other person initially thought, nor to what the other person said, but to what one has understood. The final result: a conversation between deaf people who do not even know how to listen to themselves.”

The point about doomscrolling, though, is that the quality of the information doesn’t matter. Sooner or later, as we feed on our feed, even the most clear-eyed and rational among us slips gears, a psychomagical ka-chunk that resounds like an ancient hammer blow or a crypt door in a vampire flick: BOOM. DOOM. At that moment, we are thrust beyond the Enlightenment’s circle of illumination, facing an inner dread and an outer darkness that only myth or religion or cosmic horror can limn.

Mutt 2023
Fena, a young trans guy bustling through life in New York City, is afflicted with an incessantly challenging day that resurrects ghosts from his past. Laundromats, subway turnstiles, and airport transfers are the hectic background to this emotional drama that overlaps past, present, and future. Settling the disharmony of transitional upheaval in relationships familial, romantic, and platonic is Fena2s task at hand, and his resulting juggling act is equal parts skillful, fumbling, and honest. In negotiating his obliqueness, the poignant moments he finds between himself and others as the distance between them closes are warm, true, and touching
Q&A with MUTT Filmmaker Vuk Lungulov-Klotz and Stars Lío Mehiel, Cole Doman & MiMi Ryder
Chilean and Serbian immigrants, he was raised between Chile, the US, and Serbia. As a transgender storyteller, he hopes to expand queer narratives. His work focuses on intimate moments we often miss if we're not looking. Mutt is his debut feature film. With his feature film script, MUTT, he is an alum of the Sundance Institute Labs, the Inside Out Financing Forum, and was a top five finalist for the Tribeca / AT&T Untold Stories Grant. His award winning trans-themed short film, "Still Liam," played at festivals internationally and earned the attention of celebrated queer filmmakers Ira Sachs and Silas Howard, who have both become mentors. Vuk is also an alum of the Ryan Murphy HALF Initiative Program, where he completed a mentorship under director Janet Mock on the FX series POSE. He lives in Brooklyn, NY.
Tumblr media
Lío Mehiel is a Puerto Rican and Greek artist, actor, and filmmaker. Their work spans film, television, multimedia installation, theater, and events. They are fascinated by the inherent contradiction of the trans experience — one deeply rooted in the body while also transcending beyond the body. Lío began their career as a professional salsa dancer and child actor on Broadway. They can now be seen on shows like WeCrashed (Apple+) and Tales of the City (Netflix). MUTT is their feature film debut. As a filmmaker, Lío produced Chaperone, a queer short film which premiered at Sundance 2022. They wrote, directed, produced, and starred in Disforia, a short film which premiered at Outfest Film Festival in 2018. They are now stuck inside of a psychomagic act with this story as they write the feature script version and confront their own medical transition. As an installation artist, their immersive piece Arcade Amerikana was included in the list of 10 Best Immersive Shows in NYC by Time Out and GOTHAMIST. Lío is currently the producer and creative director of Angels, a developing collection of stone sculptures of transgender humans. The works were first featured as part of a pop-up installation at Outfest LA in 2022, and will be debuted in full at SIZED Gallery LA in 2023. Lío is a co-founder of Voyeur Productions with Russell Kahn and Dulcinee DeGuere. They attended Northwestern University, and are an alumni of the Emerge NYC residency program for artists and activists. Photo credit: Jordan Rossi
Cole Doman is a trained stage and film actor living in Brooklyn, NY. During his time in Chicago, he studied at the School at Steppenwolf under Amy Morton, Tarell Alvin McCraney, Michael Patrick Thornton, and more. Chris Jones of the Chicago Tribune named Cole among the "Hot New Faces of Chicago Theater" in 2016. He made his film debut as the titular role in the critically acclaimed HENRY GAMBLE'S BIRTHDAY PARTY directed by Stephen Cone. He has profiles with IndieWire, Brooklyn Magazine, OUT, Milk.xyz, and was featured as one of "Best Breakout Performances of 2016" by The Film Stage. He can also be seen in Alan Ball's UNCLE FRANK (Sundance 2020, Amazon Studios) as young Frank Bledsoe played by Paul Bettany. On television he has appeared in Let the Right One In, Gossip Girl, Modern Family, Law & Order: SVU, Chicago PD, Equal, and Shameless. He developed & stars in the short film Starfuckers (MUBI) directed by Antonio Marziale which was presented in competition at Sundance Film Festival, Berlinale, and Telluride Film Festival. Other forthcoming films include: Matt Fifer’s sophomore feature TREATMENT for AMC’s Shudder and Zia Anger’s debut feature MY FIRST FILM for MUBI. Mostrecently, he starred in the world premiere of Your Own Personal Exegesis by Julia May Jonas at Lincoln Center Theatre, directed by Annie Tippe, for which his performance was lauded by The New York Times and even cartooned by The New Yorker.

The heart of chaos magick is freedom from group think or magical systems. Magical systems have a path that you follow and they have specific symbolic language that the initiate is able to program their unconscious to be able to communicate with their conscious. This language would be the deities, the colors, the omens, the day, scents, etc.
As an example, if a golden dawn member is doing a love ritual, best believe they have went through extensive rituals that have successfully programmed their minds to associate love with a certain day, color, scent, herb, gemstone, deity, animal, shapes, symbols, etc.
This same process would be the same for people into an east indian practice, IFA, vodoun, germanic, satanic, angelic, greek, santeria, palo, egyptian, etc.
Rituals solidify these energies for this person. It's constant repetition of prayers, mantras, offerings, chants, candles that solidify these energies.
These systems also have paths. Each magical system has their own purpose so their paths are all different.
For example the golden dawn uses the tree of life as the magical path for their intiates. Luciferians use the qlippoth as their magical path. Other magical groups may base the path of the person on a divination. Some may use degrees that the intiate must rise through. Some have a set lineup of deities you deal with. Again, each system is different so how they approach them is often vastly different.
Chaos magick is the same while being different. You program yourself how you see fit and you deal with issues as they arise. There are no colors you agree to. There's no planet's magick energy that you agree to. There are no deities that you agree to. It becomes what you make of it. It is a personal system of magick. I don't believe chaos magick is for everyone, however, for those who do it here is some material you can study if you need a clearer understanding of chaos magick.
For Theory.
*Start with anything by Stephen Mace. He has four books. If you have amazon unlimited books 3 of his books are there.
*Austin Osman Spare is like the O.G. of chaos magick.
*Peter J Carroll
*Phil Hines books
For techniques
*If you want to create an individual system of magick Philip Cooper is pretty thorough. He has a book on color magick, one for planetary, and one for the tree of life.
*Advanced Magick for Beginners
*Hands on Chaos Magick
*Chaos Protocols by Gordon White
Dealing with the subconscious
*Inner work by Robert Johnson
*Psychomagic by Jodorowsky

08/12/18 : Les mots
Tumblr media

TAROT READINGS
James Sass - Tarot Reader & Advisor
3 card reading $15
7 card reading $35
10 card reading $50
On Instagram, Facebook, or via Text.
In person at Abraxas Books in Daytona Beach Florida.
Here is how the online reading works: After I confirm payment I will get back to you within 24 or 48 hours with a photograph of the card spread along with the interpretation. Take as much time as you need to chew over it and get back to me with any questions or comments which I will address to the best of my ability. The readings can be done over Facebook messenger, Instagram or by text. You do not have to be online at the same time or respond during the initial reading. I would actually suggest reading the entire interpretation over as a whole before we discuss it and address any questions you may have.
"Access to truth demands a passage beyond the compass of ordered thought. And by the same token: the teaching of transcendent truth cannot be by logic, but only by pregnant paradox and by symbol and image." -- Heinrich Zimmer.
"When you cut into the present the future leaks out." -- William S. Burroughs
If a picture is worth a thousand words, the tarot is a collection of 78 pictures. The tarot is like a 78 page picture book that rewrites itself every time you shuffle the deck into an astronomical number of different sequential combinations and permutations to tell unique story each time.
Every tarot card reader has their own style of communication. I do not use nebulous New Age jargon or cheesy motivational self-help psychobabble. I also do not whitewash anything. I try to describe what I see with as much precision as possible, good or bad.
JDS

The Gifts
A gift is basically a particularity that your character has had since birth. He must learn to master it during his life so that it is not a handicap to him, which is why wizards with gifts who are also talents have much more mastery on their ability given that they have had to work on it since childhood.
The gift request implies that your family carries the gene for this gift, we ask you to take this into account when writing your file, because a Muggle-born wizard cannot have a gift, he can only develop talents. You must therefore make a half-blood or pure-blood character (See the list in the roles channel).
━━━━━━━ ⟡ ━━━━━━━
𝐈 - 𝐏𝐒𝐘𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐂 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐂
⁣  𝟭 - 𝘓𝘌𝘎𝘐𝘔𝘖𝘙𝘐𝘈
Legimoria is a gift that allows a person to search people's memories based on physical contact. Without advanced mastery of this complex gift, the wizard is not able to literally search the memories of others, but they have flashes of the person's past. WARNING: This does not happen with every physical contact. It is rare for their power to activate without their will and before advanced mastery, it is almost impossible for them to activate it every time they want (a roll of more than 75 is required to activate the power voluntarily , a roll of more than 90 to find the memory you are looking for. For wizards over 25, you need to roll more than 25 to activate it and more than 50 to find the desired memory).
⁣  𝟮 - 𝘓𝘌𝘎𝘐𝘖𝘉𝘐𝘌𝘊𝘛𝘐
Legiobiecti is an ability that allows someone to obtain the past of an object. This gift is little known and little recorded in the world, which makes it rather mysterious. It is impossible for a wizard to obtain a particular memory from an object since it is an inanimate being, without consciousness. However, they can get a view of all important events as well as those that may be most useful to them, as if the object knew what might interest them. (A roll of 75 is required to activate the donation, a roll of 90 to obtain precise information. After 25 years, you need to do more than 25 to activate it and more than 50 to find the desired souvenir ).
⁣  𝟯 - 𝘏𝘌𝘈𝘓𝘐𝘕𝘎
The gift of healing has been extremely rare since World War II, during which the Axis attempted to exterminate them all to weaken the Allies. They are capable of relieving suffering, regenerating organic tissues and putting bones back into place or reconstituting them with their hands. However, it takes a lot of practice for them to be able to use this gift on someone who is not close to them.
⁣  𝟰 - 𝘊𝘖𝘕𝘛𝘙𝘖𝘓 𝘖𝘍 𝘌𝘔𝘖𝘛𝘐𝘖𝘕𝘚
The gift of control of emotions acts directly on the person's brain, allowing the holder of this gift to calm or excite a spirit, to inspire fear or respect. It is very useful for imitating great charisma. This gift is very rare.
⁣  𝟱 - 𝘓𝘌𝘎𝘐𝘓𝘐𝘔𝘌𝘕𝘚
Legilimens are wizards who can read the minds of others, as well as navigate their thoughts through images and sounds.
⁣  𝟲 - 𝘖𝘊𝘊𝘓𝘜𝘔𝘌𝘕𝘚
Occlumens are sorcerers capable of countering psychomagic attacks, especially those of legilimency. They are very powerful in defense and cannot be attacked psychologically.
━━━━━━━ ⟡ ━━━━━━━
𝐈𝐈 - 𝐃𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍
⁣  𝟭 - 𝘚𝘌𝘌𝘙
A seer is a sorcerer who can have visions of the future, thanks to objects, people or simply following a psychological shock. They can manage to control their gift but most do not do so because it involves knowing what will happen but not being able to do anything about it for fear of worsening the consequences.
⁣  𝟮 - 𝘔𝘌𝘋𝘐𝘜𝘔
A medium is a wizard capable of seeing through the veil of death. He can thus see the spirits attached to Earth but not visible to the eyes of sorcerers, often the most dangerous. They can also interact with them and generally suffer from this strange connection with the world of the dead.
⁣  𝟯 - 𝘚𝘖𝘖𝘛𝘏𝘚𝘈𝘠𝘌𝘙
A soothsayer is the ancestor of fairground charlatans. Often coming from ancient lines of oracles, they use cards, crystal balls or other objects to determine probabilities, and are thus useful in determining which path to follow to achieve the best result. Only they cannot see whether they will succeed or fail in the end.
━━━━━━━ ⟡ ━━━━━━━
𝐈𝐈𝐈 - 𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐀𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐒
⁣  𝟭 - 𝘔𝘌𝘛𝘈𝘔𝘖𝘙𝘗𝘏𝘔𝘈𝘎𝘜𝘚
A metamorphmagus is capable of changing his appearance without the aid of any spell. Most often they use this gift to correct their complexes, but during wars, they are very useful for infiltration.
⁣  𝟮 - 𝘈𝘕𝘐𝘔𝘈𝘎𝘜𝘚
Animagus are sorcerers capable of taking the appearance of a particular animal, temporarily most of the time, but with long work or a psychological shock, they can remain in their animal form for an indefinite period. . they have a very strong bond with the animal race whose form they take, becoming half that animal.
⁣  𝟯 - 𝘔𝘈𝘓𝘌𝘋𝘐𝘊𝘛𝘜𝘚
A maledictus is a sorcerer who has been cursed by a powerful sorcerer, doomed to forever transform into a particular animal. The curse is passed down from generation to generation, which is why maledicts should never have children.
