#publius cornelius lentulus spinther
Text
What is it with cringefail conspiracy Lentuli? I can name four:
Lentulus Sura, Dolabella, Lentulus Spinther quaestor 44 bce (the least cringefail in comparison to others), and Lentulus La clemenza di Tito.
The first one is Antony's stepfather; the second is Antony's whatever the relationship is called when you hate each other, conspire together, and may or may not have fucked. I do not know how Lentulus Sura was related to the Lentulus who adopted Dolabella, but a close kinship would be funny.

in today's letter: remember the letter the other day when lentulus said 'You will find out how much the Rhodians spurned me and the Republic from the official letter I have sent. In fact, I have written much more sparingly than I found their madness deserved'? this is the letter where he complains about the rhodians for one billion paragraphs. they made him go on an embarrassingly small boat :( also dolabella continues to have a bad time, cassius continues to be sexy, and not even civil war can stop romans from collecting taxes
