Controversial opinion that shouldn't be controversial: When people post pics of their pugs and bulldogs and call them cute, anyone who feels the need to say, "Your dog's not cute!" Is an asshole.

Like, I get the intentions. People need to stop breeding animals so that they are unhealthy. And if you want to call that out on a generic post about how the breeds in general are cute, be my guest.

But people usually don't call their dogs cute because they are thinking of the breed. They're cute because they are their dog, and they love them.

Imagine you adopt two dogs from a shelter. One is a pug, the other a mutt.

You: Aww! Here are pics of my dogs! Aren't they so cute?!?

Random person on the internet: No! Only the mutt is cute! I hope you never refer to the pug as anything other than a mistake! Never, ever use terms of endearment, because you doing that promotes the breeding. Yes, your pug will be upset at not being treated the same as your other dog, but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make.
