EDIT: I didn't really read the title when I screenshotted this. I just looked at the picture, thought that they were just knight cosplayers who tried to get into the world cup.
I'm sorry if I offended you and anybody else who sees this. Please forgive my lack of intelligence.
I also just realized what crusaders are. (no, I didn't pay attention in history class the year before last year)
Excellent documentary and there’s a version with Spanish subtitles.

Qatar 2022 has just started, and as flashy as the presentation was (Jung Kook, Morgan Freeman), all the charm falls apart instantly once you get to see all the awfulness behind all the pretty fanfare.
I find it the very definiton of Irony that FIFA is currently investigating Ecuadorian and Mexican Fans chanting Homophobic slurs when this world cup is being held in Quatar, and the last one in Russia, both of which have, to say it nicely, problematic records for LGBTQ+ rights.
Foutbòl, yon pasyon ki fè plas li nan kè majorite Ayisyen. Soti 22 novanm pou rive 18 desanm k ap vini la, se pral yon mwa emosyon ak pi gwo konpetisyon nan jwèt sa a. Kesyon anpil Ayisyen ap poze : Kote yo pral jwenn kouran pou yo gade mondyal la ?
22e edisyon Koup di Mond lan ap fèt nan peyi « Qatar » ki se yon peyi ki fè cho anpil. Se rezon sa ki pouse FIFA òganize l an ivè. Sa ki fè lè…
Will you also be boycotting the World Cup when it’s held in US/Mexico/Canada? Those countries are no saints either.
Trying to equate the United States, Canada and Mexico to Qatar in any way shape or form is ridiculous and I know you know that because you chose to ask this anonymously.
Of course all countries have problems because countries are run by people and people are not perfect. But all of the stadiums chosen to host World Cup games in 2026 were built by paid contracting/construction teams, not literal fucking slaves. LGBTQ+ people are not thrown in jail or killed by government officials (in fact, same sex marriage is legal in ALL. THREE. COUNTRIES.) And the U.S. Supreme Court did in fact try to attack women’s rights and overturn Roe v Wade federally but Roe protection measures at the state level were 5-0 in different states on the midterm ballot 2 weeks ago.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but your false equivalencies don’t hold any weight.
