It annoys me so much that when there's an ARO character people completely ignore it and just ship them with everyone? Don't get me wrong, I know there are aros who like to be in relationships, I fully support them, there's nothing wrong with that, but why do I barely see these "aro" characters in fanarts or fics that don't involve romance? Am I crazy for thinking this way?

Do you know about the Cater was the previous dorm leader theory? What do you think about it? (I actually enjoy it just because of the fanart lol) For me it doesn't seem true nor wrong... Like it can be true or wrong.

I know it exists and it has for a long time; the "Cater is the previous Heartslabyul dorm leader" theory has been around since very early in the fandom. In some variations, fans would try to tie this in with the whole "Ace is a traitor" theory (my general thoughts on that here). The general idea was that Ace would betray us somehow as an act of revenge for his older brother (who canonically was also a Heartslabyul student). In the combined theory, Ace's brother was the dorm leader before Cater, then Cater came along and stole his seat (which upset Ace???). However, that doesn't make sense because Ace's brother is stated to be seven years older than him; he would have long since graduated before Cater enrolled at NRC. Ace's brother is also never stated to have been the dorm leader before, so an assumption is being made there. The theory additionally assumes that Ace would still feel this anger several years later and act in a way that would harm us, a completely unrelated party, rather than Cater, who would be the real source of his ire. To speak more broadly about the concept of Cater as the dorm leader before Riddle... I mean, there's nothing to disprove it? But I have also yet to see anything that proves it either, so I can't really get behind backing the theory. The closest thing that we've seen that could count as "proof" is the off-handed mention that the person before Riddle was relaxed with enforcing the rules--and while that could mean Cater, it could also be literally anyone else (especially when most Heartslabyul mobs complain about Riddle when he does enforce the rules). You'd think if Cater really was the previous dorm leader, there would be more mentions of it??? Like other students commenting about his downfall (because, let's be real, NRC kids lack grace and tact), or at least making frequent but vague passing references.

I want to add that with the release of the December 2024 JP news, there is a new card coming out that has many fans speculating that it’s dorm leader Cater. However, please note that will not know for sure until the Heartslabyul book 7 update. Please also be aware that even if Cater is depicted as a dorm leader in his dream, it doesn’t necessarily reflect that he was ex-dorm leader irl unless the story hints or states otherwise.

inspired by water cycle question: what are the chances that people can fuck up it too by evaporating too much water? I've never heard anyone mention that, but it feels like a typical "nature is stronger than us for sure, we can't possibly ruin this part of its ecosystem". this water has to rain somewhere after all, and heavier rains doesn't sound good

Because i rarely feel romantic attraction but the few times i did it fluctuated between having none at all and feeling it very strongly, and i think the polarromantic label is better to describe the experience than aroflux

Raven what do you think Leona would be like if he was a middle child?

I’m not a middle child myself as far as i’m concerned, but i’ve heard things about being like stuck in the middle with the divided attention being on their other siblings instead of them.

I dunno how the position would affect Leona’s personality or moral standing, but i wanna say he would be more resentful of siblings in general rather than just the eldest, since his (hypothetical) younger sibling is also taking the attention from him too. I also wanna say his “hard work gets you nowhere/your place in life is determined by birth��� mentality would be worse but by how much i’m not sure.

What’s your take on this?

Personally, I don’t like relying on unofficial conditions like "middle child syndrome" for analysis. When I speak on this subject, I want to make it clear that I won't be relying on that description.

I feel like this really has less to do with being a middle child and more to do with what Leona's relationship with that hypothetical youngest sibling is like. For example, if both he and the youngest are resentful of their lot in life, maybe they could have solidarity or a stronger bond with each other than they do with Falena, the eldest. Because, like... just because the youngest is getting a lot of attention doesn't necessarily mean it is positive attention, and nor does it mean they'd necessarily be getting praise for their merit (which is what Leona seeks). Conversely, if the youngest is sort of smug or entitled, maybe Leona would be even more bitter toward him or think he has it easy compared to him. I don't think this would necessarily translate into him being significantly "more" stuck in his mindset, nor would it necessarily mean he would begin disliking all children just because he's using his own brother as an exemplar. To me, it just feels like another added character that reminds him of what he doesn't have (similar to Cheka's presence in the current story).

I also feel like Leona wouldn't really be "worse off" because he would still have his usual support systems, even if there was a hypothetical younger brother there. Yeah, the palace servants still wouldn't like Leona--but Kifaji is still there raising him, playing with him, etc. I assume Leona would still meet Ruggie, that he would still eventually go to NRC, that he'd become dorm leader and gain the respect and admiration of many of his underclassmen. These are all important people who will play a role in his recovery and growth from that dark period on his life. I think Leona is in good hands thanks to those around him.

I'm not sure if I explained it that well 💦 but those are my thoughts!
