When someone pointed out in a forum a while back about the theming in Rafina's name/country, I started to wonder what made Mochitsuki implement a whale theme into the story's equivalent of Rome/the Vatican
But then I remembered the Book of Jonah, and it all made sense now
#Tearmoon Empire#Tearmoon Teikoku Monogatari#Rafina Orca Belluga#Salt and Light#This is the only explanation I can find for otherwise random theming#TIL about the term ''Jonah's fish'' from Turkey which refers to dolphins#What made me initially hesitate with this idea at first was the whole ''whale vs big fish'' translation debate#The country's setting is Rome/Vatican but the religion literally calls itself the Central Orthodox Church#Tbh it makes me wonder if Mochitsuki is specifically an Orthodox Christian himself
