Made some refs for my Rot AU

I am a fluffy Iterators enthusiast and I will always draw them with hair

Unfortunately this isn't a real mod… It’s a screenshot edit I made. But who knows? Maybe it can become a real mod if I can find a programmer to team up with. I really do feel we need a modded character that isn't just another slugcat.

Anyways, this is the result of a challenging I made for myself that entails attempting to draw in the Rain World art style in a way that feels mostly authentic. This is a type of art style I’m unfamiliar with drawing in – despite that, I feel I did a good job! (Anyone is welcome to attempt this challenge themselves if they want!)

Lil guy who uses his own rot to traverse rather than his own legs, stating he either didn't have the time or finds it more efficient.

okay rot hunter has a design or something anyway tl;dr about the au it's basically that the colony things they saved hunter after cutting off a majority of the rot growth however hunter died long before they found its corpse, and the "hunter" there is now is just the rot controlling its body.

"au where hunter long legs is found and all the rot growths get cut off and hunter seemingly returns to normal, save for the regular seizures it always had. all the slugcats are having a good time, but some slugcats in the colony oddly seem to disappear into thin air for no reason.

the thing is, hunter's corpse isn't hunter. it's still the rot. it still has control over hunter's corpse. hunter died cycles ago. hunter wasn't even alive when they found hunter long legs. the rot has just gotten eerily good at imitating who hunter used to be."

"Little creature? On the floor of my chamber? What brings you here?"

"Oh my! You must be important if you have that mark over you!"

"Apologies, it's been a while since I've been up to date with the world around me. As you can tell, I am planning something revolutionary for the greater cause."

"Not that it means much for you, but nonetheless!"

"I imagine you have brought me something to read?"

"Ah, a pearl! I haven't read many pearls in a while, so I suppose it wouldn't hurt to divert some of my processing power to reading it for you... or is it for me to read? Who knows!"

"Allow me to decode this."

[ Moon begins to read the pearl. Her puppet shakes a bit. ]

[ The pearl vibrates violently in her hands. Her puppet almost seems to be transfixed to it as it forces Moon to face it. ]

[ The chamber is flooded with error manifests. Shortly after, a local diagnostic test automatically begins conducting within the unbreaking silence. ]

...

[ Something appeared above the ventilation systems. ]

"Oh no, no, no. This can't be--"

"What did I do?! My work, Pebbles, I—"

[ She collapses on the ground. ]

"I almost had it."

"I could've helped everyone. Now I've—"

"..."

"I have work to do. Please, little creature, leave me alone."

[ Hunter is propelled slowly to the access shaft by Moon. Before you are fully inside of it, she says to herself... ]

"I'm sorry."

throwback to an old rot!moon au i made where pebbles stays healthy. in this au arti doesnt lose her pups, however they become very sick so she brings them to pebbles. he offers to cure them in exchange for artis abilities to fight the rot and keep it off of the precipice (and slow moons rotting, if possible)

because this is dangerous, obviously this means pup-sitting for pebbles.

I feel like I’ve been adding enough unique gimmicks and features to my version of iterator + rot in my AU to justify making an “original species” out of this...

You’re free to make rot merged versions of your iterator OCs. All I ask is that you credit me for the creation of the Rot Merged AU, and keep the appearance of your character’s rot close to the design guide so your character is more easily recognizable as a rot merged. But otherwise – go nuts! I’d love to see what other people can do with this concept!
