thinking a lot today about protest and resistance while in solitary confinement. or while incarcerated (and/or institutionalized) more broadly. reading a lot of writing from incarcerated writers and through the prison journalism project and rereading sick woman theory by Johanna Hedva and just thinking about the quote "Sick Woman Theory is an insistence that most modes of political protest are internalized, lived, embodied, suffering, and no doubt invisible" (Hedva, 5). and thinking about what it means to resist when all that is left to you is your body, a room, and time--how do you fight back? what options are left to you? what ways is your resistance legible, who is the audience to your resistance and does it still matter if no one ever sees? (yes, i think--i remember hours spent in restraint because i had hugged a friend and i keep thinking about the concept that protest is disruption, a refusal to allow business to keep happening as usual, and what that means about making cruelty visible by refusing to participate in that normalization. even as i was taken away, removed, made invisible--does that removal make my absence louder?)

thinking about the ways self destruction is used as protest when you have no other options--hunger strikes perhaps the most familiar iteration of this. what gets labeled as "symptom" and what is recognized as resistance varies by person by context by environment. thinking about how almost everyone i know who's been in solitary confinement started self harming eventually. what need does that meet? when all options for autonomy, privacy, and interaction is taken away, how do we meet those needs ourselves? i think a lot about survival, and remember YWEP's concept of self harm as resilience, and think a lot about what it means to keep yourself alive when all you have is your body and your mind and an empty room and time. what things become more important than physical pain? how might physical pain become important? how does our relationship between our body and harm change in that environment? how do you stay sane in solitary confinement, or maybe more importantly, how do you go insane in a way that hurts you less? what does sanity even mean when you have been placed in an unlivable environment? is resistance a basic need we need to meet when we are placed in such a hostile environment? how did i survive & how are my friends currently surviving & how many more people will i have to lose who were killed that way before this fucking ends?

I think the main thing that draws me to Liu Qingge as a love interest is his sheer sincerity. Everything that he is, everything that he does, is just overflowing with this desire to be authentic. 

He’s terrible at expressing himself verbally, he’s easily embarrassed, he’s not excellent at reading between the lines! This is known! He knows it himself! It frustrates him, both to misunderstand and to be misunderstood. It’s half the reason he could not leave Shen Jiu alone! It’s why Shen Yuan manages to smash past his defenses so quickly!

The cornerstone upon which Liu Qingge has built himself is to see his promises, his intentions, through to the end, regardless of anyone else’s understanding of it. His greatest fear? It’s not being weak or losing his pride - fighting for Shen Qingqui’s body proves that - but about losing this form of self-expression. Losing his ability to do, physically, symbolically, through gesture after gesture after gesture, what he must to carry out his heart’s desires. 

Ah, there’s something so earnest about the man who cannot call someone a friend, but can seek out and return their lost fans. Fight to give their body a grave, even if it means destroying his title. Who can lose someone for years, and upon their return only ask them to stay. There’s such earnestness in his steadfastness, in his sheer reliability, in how humble he is about it all - he is only doing as he sees fit, with no pretension. 

Compared with Shen Yuan, disaster weasel man extraordinaire, it’s almost unbearably sweet. Yet it matches Mr. “my words and actions are completely different” extremely well? Very compatible and harmonious, with a simultaneous reaching out and recognition of a lack of understanding that must be bridged. 

What can I say? I love a love interest who cannot talk the talk, but can and WILL walk the walk in increasingly obvious ways as a series progresses.

Hey just so you know. If you're in the US and you're a person who passes as having a uterus, and suddenly doctors are inquiring as to when your last period was despite it not being relevant to the appointment: it's due to the Roe v Wade repeal and they are keeping the dates you give on file so that they can better guess if you may be pregnant so that they know to deny you care that may cause an abortion that they'd be liable for.

-> his co-workers/partners always ask him to come out with them but he always goes "sorry, i need to be home for dinner."

-> Adrian finally attends one game night and he enjoys it. his co-workers ask him to bring over whoever he wants. No pressure. They win the pub quiz btw.

-> "I can bring Leland..." and they're all just nodding cause yeah why the hell not. bring your wife mr. monk. bring your best friend. bring your cousin. feel free

-> the next game night, Adrian does end up showing up. In tow though, is a guy who looks very much like he could knock you out for just breathing in his direction. Rugby shoulders, mustache, ruggedly handsome.

-> "Who is that?" / "Can't be his brother..." / "Maybe a friend?"

Thinking back to wille's birthday diner, and remember someone did an anylisis at some point saying music represent love in this show and Wille have been taught classical music (meaning straight love) and "re-discover" music through simon.

He like to hear him sing, he likes music the way simon shows him.

i laugh at the jokes where characters in the dragon age games will show sort of nuanced, oftentimes seemingly contradictory preferences in how they approve/disapprove and what what say around the mc's actions and dialogue but ill be honest those moments were always the ones where i was most impressed with the writing from a character perspective because it was the most human kind of experience ive seen in a game at that point. solas' deal during the well of sorrows is a great example where he's actively keeping secrets from the inquisitor and in a moment where he normally approves of questions, is vocal about not wanting to be asked about this. he also presents two seemingly contradictory opinions: he doesn't want the inquisitor to drink from the well because of the knowledge he has about it, but he thinks one of the party should, but he's critical about someone like morrigan who he thinks it would be better if she drank, but is very vocal about how he disapproves of her active desire to drink it. his approval/disapproval here makes perfect sense if you know what he knows and value what he values. people complain about those moments jokingly, but i really am fond of those moments in games

Guys,I think I figured out something about Poppy Playtime's set time period + calculating Evan's (my Protagonist OC) age at the time of his return

So looking at the VHS Tapes of Huggy and Kissy, which dates (06/18/1992 and 08/08/1995 respectfully) Seems to be around the end of Playtime Co. and If you calculate it by the number the protagonist (or in this case, Evan) has been away, which is 10 years, We get 1995 + 10 = 2005.

and if we take Evan's past age when working at Playtime Co, which is 18, and added 10 we get 28, Which means by his return to the factory, he is already a young adult.

This makes sense by looking at the Toy packaging of Playtime Co, specifically Boogie Bot's from 1993. This would mean that Poppy Playtime and Project Playtime both would take place in the early 2000's.
