CHARACTER INTERVIEW
Tumblr media
BASICS  !
NAME: rose solano NICKNAME: ---no. AGE: 38 SPECIES: human
PERSONAL  !
MORALITY: lawful | chaotic | good | neutral | evil | true RELIGION: spiritual | neutral | no faith | questioning SINS: greed | gluttony | sloth | lust | pride | envy | wrath VIRTUES: chastity | charity | diligence | humility | kindness | patience | justice KNOWN LANGUAGES: german, english, italian, french, romanian spanish SECRETS: way too many to be listed here.  rose collects secrets and uses them against people; it is inevitable that she has a multitude of her own on top of that.
PHYSICAL  !
BUILD: scrawny | bony | slender | fit | athletic | curvy | herculean | pudgy | average**      **bridget regan is by no means average build, but rose by nature must be, otherwise         her body shape would make her blatantly recognizable, regardless of whomever’s         face she is wearing. HEIGHT: 5′9″ SCARS / BIRTHMARKS: none of the above.  emilio would have asked about any scars under the guise of being a somewhat caring husband, and both scars and birthmarks would make her more easy to catch.  anyone she slept with would know her body by her marks.  so, no, she has none. ABILITIES / POWERS: she can out drink luisa.  refer to the secrets part: her ability to gain and maintain a hold over people has its roots in her ability to find out other people’s secrets and to convincingly threaten them.  also being able to slip into and out of personas as needed for her job, for lengthy periods of time.  also her access to masks and voalizers to maintain the appearance of an entire other person separate from herself. RESTRICTIONS: the aforementioned uncomfortable facial masks after she is outed as sin rostro.
FAVORITES!
FOOD: noodles.  not spaghetti as we might conceive of it with red sauce and meatballs,; although she does like that kind of noodle, rose tends more towards cream sauces, whether a pure butter/milk/flour base or mixed with other flavors (basil pesto sauce, for instance, or almonds).  throw in some spinach and not beef but small bits of chicken or shrimp (the latter is far preferred here) and perhaps some tomatoes (as long as they do not stain the sauce) or peas (not in the pesto sauce) and top it with the proper sprinkling of cheese (not too much or you risk overwhelming it), and you will have a very content rose.  she also especially likes almonds, and where ice cream is concerned - gelato, first of all, is far superior to ice cream - rocky road is her preference.  she could eat most of a tub in one sitting and, in fact, has done so on more than one occasion.  (don’t tell luisa.  she’ll want a rom-com night.)  also when she was younger, she loved sloppy joes, but they’re so messy now she rarely, if ever, eats them.  it seems like it would appear childish.  (but she still loves them.) DRINK: wine, although she is fairly particular with its taste and make.  outside of that, clear sodas.  lemon-lime, ginger ale (which isn’t clear, but close to it).  fruity drinks - smoothies are a definite favorite, particularly with berry bases (stawberry, blueberry, raspberry, although strawberry is the favorite). PIZZA TOPPING: pineapple and canadian bacon.  rose is a heathen. COLOR: black, although she won’t admit it and rarely wears it. MUSIC GENRE: much to my dismay, rose is attached to german folk yodeling. note that she loathes american yodeling as it is far too country and twangy for her tastes.  rose vastly prefers artists over particular genres - dresden dolls or sixpence none the richer are neither particularly iconic of a genre, but she enjoys both. BOOK GENRE: rose actually prefers poetry and retold fairy tales.  also lesbian pulp novels that she steals from libraries and forgets to return them.  (she hides all of these from emilio.  tends to put them in luisa’s old bedroom, where she doubts they are out of place.) MOVIE GENRE: horror.  there’s something about intimidating or terrifying situations that are unreal as opposed to ones that are very real. CURSE WORD:  rose prefers to use german, even if she is using words that aren’t necessarily foul language because so few people in america would know they weren’t bad.  with emilio, she often uses spansh language that she picked up from him (or luisa), but as far as favorites, she vastly prefers german. SCENTS: the open sea.  strawberries (they remind her of her mother, although her scent was very faint and mixed with lavender).  vanilla.
FUN STUFF  !
BOTTOM OR TOP:  yes.  canonically we have implication that she both topped and bottomed for luisa. SINGS IN THE SHOWER:  whistles.  she hums when she is in a good mood, otherwise she is deathly silent. if she hums, it is more often than not a german folk song she remembers from her youth, minus the potential yodeling parts. LIKES PUNS:  rose loves a good word play.
tagged by: @deincs tagging: at this point, i’m unsure who has done this and who has not, especially since i took so long to do mine, so if you see this and would like to do it, feel free to take it from me, just tag me in it?  or not.  you do not have to tag me, but i do vastly enjoy reading them for the insight they can give into other characters.

NDRV3 Pasela Cafe Menu Translations
Also by request!
(and also under a cut since this is mad long)
Food Menu:
Harukawa Maki’s Black Salad This dish features paprika and tomatoes, symbolizing her red sailor uniform, and balsamic vinegar, symbolizing her long, black hair. Ingredients: salad base, red paprika, cherry tomatoes, balsamic vinegar sauce, Italian dressing
Jess’s Rating: Delicious
Momota Kaito’s Earth Soup Consommé soup made with a single red onion. The onion is in the shape of the earth, matching the colors of the clothing Momota wears in the soup itself. Ingredients: red onion, consommé soup, bacon, cabbage, big peppercorns
Jess’s Rating: N/A
Monokumarz Combo Platter All of the Monokumarz’ colors--brown, blue, green, pink, and yellow--together in one dish with fried food and dip! The star-shaped hashbrowns make it even cuter ♪ Ingredients: french fries, star-shaped hashbrowns, sausage slices, lettuce, BBQ sauce, cheese sauce, mentaiko sauce
Jess’s Rating: Delicious
Toujou Kirumi’s Black and White Seafood Pasta Matching her black and white maid uniform, it’s black and white pasta! What flavor could this black sauce made by the SHSL Maid be?! Ingredients: pasta, shrimp, scallops, onion, heavy cream, milk, salt, pepper (I think...the text is really small), black ketchup
Jess’s Rating: Delicious, and more food than you’d expect to get at this kind of restaurant (also I apparently like ketchup better when it’s black!)
Yonaga Angie’s Stick Art Bread With eggs and fruit atop strips of bread and sprinkled with paprika, this dish is perfect for an artist like her! Ingredients: bread, mayonaisse, hard-boiled egg, bacon, yellow paprika, whipped cream, orange slices, mango sauce, grapefruit slices
Jess’s Rating: An abomination.
Chabashira Tenko’s Dashichazuke A dish that combines dashichazuke (rice soup with green tea) with pickled Japanese vegetables, plum, and wasabi on the side to recreate her pink headband and collar and her yellow-green bandana to match her style. Ingredients: rice, mizuna, sliced ??? (tiny text), pickled ??? (tiny text part II), wasabi, pickled vegetables (pink), dashi soup, hot tea (too small to read what kind but I guess either bancha or houjicha)
Jess’s Rating: N/A, though I feel it bears noting that Chabashira always has hyper Japanese dishes/drinks that prominently feature tea
Akamatsu Kaede’s Keyboard Cheesecake ♪ For the SHSL Pianist, we’ve chosen a dessert modeled after a piano keyboard! The Saishuu Gakuen student handbook and music note pick make this dish extra cute! Ingredients: cheesecake, chocolate, berry sauce, cherry, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, edible Saishuu Gakuen Student Handbook
Jess’s Rating: It’s lemon cheesecake with chocolate and berry sauce. I literally ate this three times.
Monokuma Honey Toast We’ve taken the Monokuma you all know and turned him into honey toast! Hmmm, do you have the resolve to finish eating the whole thing?! Ingredients: black sesame ice cream, vanilla ice cream, chocolate (white and dark), strawberries, frozen berries (blueberries and raspberries), chocolate and strawberry sauce, white-striped chocolate sticks, whip cream (regular and chocolate), monaka (?)
Jess’s Rating: Delicious, though in true honey toast fashion, Nate and I didn’t quite finish all of it (we were full of like seven other drinks and three other foods, okay?)
Special Menu:
Kimukara Oyakodon Super extra greasy but can benefit your health?! Ingredients: fried chicken, eggs, kimchi, onion, mayonnaise, rice, green onions, soup...all of an appropriate amount
Jess’s Rating: N/A, sadly, but I do want to note that oyakodon is a dish that serves chicken and eggs together and is named literally “parent and child over rice”--interpret this as you shall
Drink Menu:
Amami Rantarou’s Grapeberry Drink A drink that evokes the strange flavor of mixing sweetness with a sour aftertaste. The piercings in his right ear are represented by silver chocolates. Ingredients: syrup (blueberry, blue raspberry), grapefruit syrup, custard whip, silver chocolate
Jess’s Rating: I am not a fan of grapefruit. If you are, I’m sure it’s great.
Iruma Miu’s Lychee Yogurt Drink For an inventor like her, we chose a drink that strangely changes colors when mixed... Just what the heck is going on...?! Ingredients: mallow blue, yogurt, soda, lychee syrup, lemon juice
Jess’s Rating: Delicious
Kiibo’s Energy Light Drink For the drink representing the cyborg-like Kiibo, we chose a drink to charge your energy! There’s even something that lights up in the glass?! Ingredients: energy syrup, soda, light-up ice cube (white)
Jess’s Rating: Delicious
Ouma Kokichi’s Grape Cola The base is grape juice and cola. The cookie and ribbon represent his checkered scarf and black cape. This is a drink fit for this Supreme Leader! Ingredients: grape juice, soda, cola, whipped cream, checkered cookie, blackberries
Jess’s Rating: Delicious
Gokuhara Gonta’s Iced Cafe Latte The SHSL Entomologist, with a stature that could be said to be of a giant. Ingredients: metal butterfly, milk, iced coffee
Jess’s Rating: Coffee is very much not my thing (I only ordered for Zai’s sake), but I could tell that if you did like coffee, this would be very nice
Saihara Shuuichi’s Espresso con Panna Coffee perfectly fit for a detective! We wonder why there’s a student handbook included... Ingredients: hot coffee, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, edible Saishuu Gakuen Student Handbook
Jess’s Rating: N/A, because, again, I don’t like coffee (Saihara is always coffee though, which at least matches my feelings on him)
Shirogane Tsumugi’s Chardonnay Lemonade Since one of her most arresting features is her long, blue hair, we’ve added a chardonnay-like flavor. It’s a beautiful drink with flower petals sprinkled on top. Ingredients: blue raspberry syrup, chardonnay syrup, lemon, flower petals, ice, maraschino cherry
Jess’s Rating: Delicious--this is the drink that sealed Shirogane as Nate’s favorite
Shinguuji Korekiyo's Rose Mint Drink For the suspicious/lonely-seeming Shinguuji’s drink, we added rose petals and lots of ice. But what is the true nature of this ice?! Ingredients: rose syrup, mint syrup, lemon concentrate, soda, iced cafe (green apple), rose petals
Jess’s Rating: I loved this, but your mileage may vary depending on your feelings re:mint
Hoshi Ryouma’s Star Berry Drink Just like his name, this blueberry tea is decorated with pieces of starfruit! What else could you add to this? Why, a rolled-up chocolate stick! Ingredients: blueberry syrup, black tea, starfruit, whipped cream, rolled up chocolate stick
Jess’s Rating: Delicious
Yumeno Himiko’s Strawberry Cola A cute drink perfect for the magician Himiko with its playing cards. The colors of red and black are also represented in the glass ♪ Ingredients: strawberry syrup, cola, soda, whipped cream, edible playing cards
Jess’s Rating: Delicious--this almost gave Shirogane’s drink a run for its money for Nate
Monokumarz Pasela Karaoke Drink Menu:
(No rating on these since Nate and I didn’t get to try them.)
Monotarou A refreshing drink with an iced tea base and star-shaped jelly floating inside! There’s also a cute marshmallow belly button~♪ Ingredients: ??? syrup, iced tea, star-shaped jelly, whipped cream, marshmallow belly button
Monosuke A drink that has a gradation from its mango ice, juice, and cola! There’s also a cute marshmallow belly button~♪ Ingredients: cola, mango ice, mango juice, whipped cream, marshmallow belly button
Monofunny In making Funny’s drink, we used sakura syrup and decorated it with a flower ♪ There’s also a cute marshmallow belly button~♪ Ingredients: hibiscus, sakura syrup, ???, soda, strawberry whipped cream, marshmallow belly button
Monokid The sweet and sour flavors of pineapple and syrup fit him perfectly! If you add the candy to it as well then the deliciousness literally explodes in your mouth! There’s also a cute marshmallow belly button~♪ Ingredients: blue syrup, pineapple juice, whipped cream, pop rocks, marshmallow belly button
Monodam A refreshing drink made from carbonated kiwi yogurt! There’s also a cute marshmallow belly button~♪ Ingredients: kiwi syrup, yogurt, soda, green tea whipped cream, marshmallow belly button
Whew! This took way longer than planned because small, blurry text is small and blurry, haha. There’s a couple of things I just am temporarily putting aside until I can find a larger/clearer version of the menu.

Six Summer Coffee Cocktails You Can Make At Home
The World Coffee In Good Spirits Championship is a stage for pro baristas and mixologists to experiment and innovate. Forget the traditional Irish Coffee: as long as coffee and alcohol are involved, there is no limit to what entrants can create.
To learn about how you can bring a taste of the championship to your own home, I spoke to three former Coffee In Good Spirits champions from around the world. They shared some recipes that you can make at home and enjoy in the summer sunshine. Cheers!
You may also like Six Tips For Blow-You-Away Specialty Coffee Cocktails
Summer Fruits Coffee Gin & Tonic
An Nguyen is based in New Zealand. He was the New Zealand Aeropress champion in 2018, and the 2020 Barista League Online Season 1 winner. He tells me that his speciality is coffee mixology.
An says that when creating coffee cocktails, he makes sure that they’re visually striking. “I like to layer the drink to make it more visually appealing,” he tells me.
Rather than focusing on making his drinks strong and full of alcohol, An likes to make light and refreshing summer beverages. He suggests that home brewers use either instant coffee or an AeroPress for his recipes, but says that any brewing method can be used.
For this drink, An took the classic gin and tonic recipe and added a refreshing, fruity twist. To make sure the drink isn’t too bitter, he recommends using soda water, rather than traditional tonic.
Ingredients
15ml summer fruits tisane cordial (as per recipe below)
10ml freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice
30ml gin
90ml soda water
30ml brewed coffee (as per recipe below)
A slice of lemon (to garnish)
Serve in a high-ball glass
Method
Pour all four ingredients into a glass over ice. Follow the same order as the ingredients list. When finished, garnish with a slice of lemon.
Tisane Cordial
Brew five bags of summer fruits tea (brand and flavour of choice) with 100ml boiling water. Add 100g sugar.
Coffee
Use a ratio of 20g coffee (medium roast) to 100ml hot water. An brews the coffee in an AeroPress, using the upside-down (inverted) method, for four minutes. After four minutes, he plunges it through a paper filter. However, any brewing method can be used with the same ratio.
Piña Colada Cafè
A piña colada with a coffee-flavoured twist. An’s version of the classic tropical drink includes a homemade coconut coffee cream.
Ingredients
60ml pineapple juice
30ml white rum
50ml coconut coffee cream (as per recipe below)
A slice of pineapple (to garnish)
Serve in a tumbler
Method
Pour all four ingredients into a glass over ice. Follow the same order as the ingredients list. When finished, garnish with the pineapple slice.
Coconut Coffee Cream
Mix 100ml coconut cream with 3 teaspoons of good quality instant/soluble coffee. Add 30ml of banana oleo saccharum (recipe below). If you don’t have the time to make banana oleo saccharum, you can use sugar syrup (made with 1:1 ratio of sugar to water).
Banana Oleo Saccharum
Cut a banana into very thin slices and cover them with sugar. Use a 1:1 banana to sugar ratio. Let the mixture sweat overnight, then strain the syrup.
Forest Beauty
Artem Bakurov is from Kyiv, Ukraine. He won the 2018 Ukrainian Coffee In Good Spirits championship, and came fourth at the World Coffee In Good Spirits Championship in the same year.
Artem is now a green bean sourcer and quality controller, as well as a barista. He tells me that he is passionate about mixology because it allows him to experiment with unusual tastes and fermentation processes. His cocktails, he tells me, are designed to be “enjoyed slowly” at home.
Artem believes that forest berries are perfect for summertime drinks, because of their high sweetness and medium acidity. He says that they go well with gin and vermouth, which have woody flavour notes. For this recipe, any forest berries will do, such as blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackcurrants, or redcurrants.
Ingredients
30ml berry purée (blend your berries and discard the seeds with a sieve)
30ml sweet vermouth
20ml gin
50ml freshly squeezed lime juice
25ml muscovado cane sugar syrup (made with a 1:1 ratio of hot water)
2 shots of espresso
Berries on a cocktail stick
Serve in a highball glass
Method
When blending your berries, add the sweet vermouth and the lime juice to the purée. Add it to a highball glass with the muscovado cane sugar. Finally, add the gin and the espresso shots. Stir the mixture gently with a spoon. Add ice. This recipe makes enough for two people.
Violet
Artem created this recipe using filter coffee. He tells me that his goal was to create a drink with floral flavour notes and a fresh taste. “This drink has notes of apple cider and kombucha, which are good in the summer,” he explains.
Ingredients
Rose syrup ice (as per the recipe below)
25ml lemongrass cordial (as per the recipe below)
15ml honey syrup (mix honey to hot water, 1:1.5)
50 to 70ml of elderflower tonic or soda water
35ml whiskey (ideally a whiskey with some floral notes, such as Teeling, Penderyn or Tullamore)
125ml cold filter coffee, brewed to your taste
Serve in a glass of your choice
Method
Mix the lemongrass cordial and honey syrup in a mixing glass over the rose syrup ice. Add the whiskey and the filter coffee. Stir gently. Pour the mixture a glass of your choice, and then add the elderflower tonic or soda water. This recipe makes enough for two people.
Rose Syrup Ice
Mix 12g edible roses, 200ml of mineral water and 50g of sugar and let it steep for around seven minutes. Freeze the mixture in an ice cube tray.
Lemongrass Cordial
Blend 60ml fresh lime juice, 40ml sugar syrup (1:1 ratio) and 8g lemongrass. Pass the mixture through a filter or sieve to remove any remaining chunks of lemongrass.
Strawberry Moka
Dan Bacaintan is an Italian barista, trainer, and consultant. He was the Italian Coffee In Good Spirits champion in 2018. Dan tells me that during the Covid-19 lockdown in Italy, he created a lot of coffee cocktails using simple kitchen appliances.
Dan tells me that he created the Strawberry Moka during lockdown, while he was “waiting for the summer to come”. For this, Dan recommends brewing coffee in a moka pot, and adds that this drink can also be enjoyed hot “on a stormy summer night”.
Ingredients
30ml cachaca
20ml strawberry syrup (blend strawberries and sugar using a 1:1 ratio)
10ml cointreau
17g coffee, ground for moka pot
160ml water
Serve in a glass of your choice
Method
Add the water and the coffee to your moka pot as you normally would. Add the rest of the ingredients into the top chamber of the moka pot.
As the coffee starts to brew and mix with the other ingredientes, Dan says you will be able to smell “strawberry candy”. Once the mixture has brewed, pour it into a mixing glass full of ice. Strain the mixture through a filter, then serve it on the rocks.
The Coffee Spritz
Dan tells me that he created this recipe to give the Aperol spritz (a classic summer drink and common Italian aperitivo) a coffee-flavoured spin.
Ingredients
30ml prosecco
60ml filter coffee
30ml Aperol
A slice of orange (to garnish)
Serve in a wine glass
Method
First, brew some concentrated filter coffee using a 1:10 coffee to water ratio (Dan says a double shot of ristretto will also work). Pour everything into a mixing glass over ice. Shake gently.
Pour the liquid into a wine glass filled with ice, and add a slice of orange to garnish.
And that’s it – six coffee cocktails you can make at home and enjoy in the sunshine. So next time you’re thinking about making yourself that gin and tonic or getting a beer from the fridge, why not go for something different? Give a summer coffee cocktail a try.

Prepare an 8-inch round cake pan with nonstick spray and a parchment round. In a large mixing bowl, sift all dry ingredients, including sugar. Combine egg, buttermilk, coffee, oil and vanilla in a measuring cup and beat lightly with a fork. Add milk mixture to the dry ingredients and whisk until smooth. Bake until a toothpick comes out almost clean (a few crumbs), about 22 minutes. Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes and then gently invert onto rack until completely cool. Preheat oven to 350° F. Prepare an 8-inch round cake pan with nonstick spray and a parchment round. In a medium mixing bowl or on top of parchment paper, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder, and salt. Set aside. In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter, sugar, oil and red velvet emulsion on medium-high speed until lighter in color and slightly increased in volume, about 7 minutes. Lower the speed to medium and add the egg, mixing until it is fully incorporated, about 30 seconds. Alternate dry ingredients and buttermilk into creamed mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just incorporated and whisk by hand until smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth with small offset palette knife. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 22 minutes. Try not to over-bake. Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes and then gently invert onto rack until completely cool. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the egg yolks, milk, and salt ,stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and is close to boiling, about 20 minutes (patience required!). Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the chocolate. Stir until smooth. Stir in the alcohol and extract until combined. Transfer the chocolate mixture to a medium bowl to cool. Whip the egg whites on the low speed until they become frothy. Increase speed to medium and gradually add 2 tablespoons of sugar. Continue to whip until stiff peaks form, about 1 more minute. Fold the meringue into the cooled chocolate mixture. Whip the heavy cream and remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar until stiff peaks form, about 40 seconds. Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate/meringue mixture until combined. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour. Whip the heavy cream until stiff and chill. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the egg yolks and sugar until pale and slightly thicker, about 2 minutes. Add the mascarpone cheese, the extracts and the salt, and and beat on low speed until combined, about 30 seconds. Fold in the whip cream until combined. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour. Wipe the inside of the stainless bowl and whisk attachment of your mixer clean with lemon juice or vinegar, fit onto the mixer and add the egg whites and cream of tartar. In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, stir together 2 1/4 cups (450 g) of the sugar and the water. Stop stirring. Brush down the sides of the saucepan with a damp pastry brush. Clip on a candy thermometer and leave the mixture to bubble uninterrupted. When the sugar syrup reaches about 170°F, start to to whip the egg whites and cream of tartar on low speed (let the syrup continue to cook) until frothy, about 30 seconds. Increase mixer speed to medium and gradually add the remaining (75 g) sugar. Increase the mixer speed to high speed and whip eggs whites to soft peaks, about 1 minute. Keep the mixer going, and when the sugar syrup reaches 240°F, promptly remove the saucepan from the heat and pour in a thin, steady stream into the meringue mixture and continue to whip the egg whites until they are stiff and glossy. When the bottom of the bowl is no longer warm, switch to the paddle attachment and, with the mixer on the lowest speed, add the cubes of butter one at a time. Increase the mixer speed to medium-low and continue to whip until all of the butter is incorporated and the buttercream is thick and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the vanilla and salt and beat until combined. On an 8-inch round cake board (or larger cake plate), put a small dollop of frosting. Use a long, sharp serrated knife to cut each cake layer in half horizontally. You will now have two thin red velvet layers and two thin chocolate cake layers. Place your first chocolate cake layer face-up on the board (or plate) on a cake turntable, and cover with a layer of lady fingers smooth-side down, breaking some if necessary to fit over entire layer. In a small bowl, combine the coffee and Tia Maria liqueur. Use a pastry brush to moisten each lady finger (just the tops) with the coffee mixture. Spread about 1 cup of the Tiramisu filling on top and dust with a layer of cocoa powder. Place one of the red velvet cake layers face-up on top and spread the raspberry preserves over the layer. Spread about 1 cup of chocolate mousse over the preserves. Place your remaining chocolate cake layer atop the mousse and repeat the Tiramisu layer (lady fingers, coffee brush, filling, cocoa powder). Carefully place the final red velvet cake layer on top, face-down. Gently adjust the cake so that it is straight and lined up properly. *Cake 911: If you find there are any spots where the fillings are oozing, fill those areas with some of the buttercream. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Add a few drops of the pink gel paste to the Italian Meringue Buttercream and stir well to blend colour and remove air bubbles. Frost the entire outside of the cake with the pink buttercream until you have a smooth layer, sealing in all crumbs. Refrigerate until the frosting firms up, about 30 minutes. Repeat with another layer of pink buttercream, working to achieve a smooth finish. Chill cake for at least 15 minutes. To create the piped borders, fit a medium pastry bag with a coupler and icing tip #22 and pipe a shell-style border along the top and bottom of the cake. Add a sugar rose, if desired. Keep refrigerated (this cake will stay moist) for up to 2 days, but serve at a cool room temperature. My comments URL with MyCookBook-----
