Deliberate Exchange
Summary: Elka Green is at work the morning the Exchange. She is one of the hostages pulled onto the motorcycles and not released. Elka is married to a conservative judge, in a loveless marriage, there's all sorts of drugs, sex and violence and political references/quotes that could offend, I hope you enjoy, xoxo I don't own any of these characters etc.
Chapter One: A Personal Note
Elka Green climbed the steps of the Exchange building, her eighteen hundred-dollar Gucci heels sounded in staccato clicks on the pitted and well traversed steps of the Exchange.
She tossed her hair back and adjusted the silk scarf that was loosely wrapped around her slim neck. Elka’s dark blonde hair fell long past her shoulders.
A sharp breeze blew in her direction, and a single tendril of her macadamia nut oiled hair caught in the loose knot of her scarf. As the wind died down, the single strand of warm blonde hair pulled free of her scalp and settled in the silken valleys of the designer fabric.
Elka paused at the top of the steps when she heard someone call her name.
“Elka, hey Elka!”
She forced her lips into a welcoming smile as Jerry Reynolds jogged over to her.
“Hey Elka, how was your weekend?”
“Good morning Jerry, it was pleasant. Thank you for asking.”
Jerry ran a manicured hand through his seventy-five-dollar haircut. Elka started walking again and kept her matte lipstick smile fixed in place as she headed in the direction of an organic coffee cart.
Jerry kept pace and prattled on about his weekend, completely oblivious to Elka’s disinterest. She struggled to not roll her eyes as Jerry rattled off story after adventure about his wild weekend.
Elka’s smile turned genuine when Albert Phinney pressed a white lid on a recycled paper cup and passed it to her as she walked up. “Good morning Mrs. Green, I hope your weekend was well,” he added as she accepted the hot cup from his hands.
Albert watched her intently as she took a sip of the steaming soy concoction. She smiled warmly when the sweet espresso flooded her mouth and coated her taste buds.
“Today, it’s a soy hazelnut macchiato with a dusting of cinnamon and nutmeg.”
Elka took another sip as Albert whispered that he had added some light agave syrup. Monday through Friday, Albert made Elka a mystery espresso. It was a tradition that had started more than seven years prior and showed no signs of stopping unless one of them ceased to live.
It had been Elka’s first day at the Exchange, she had started on the lowest part of the totem, barely clinging to its wooden splinters. She had been obscenely early for her first day, not many people had been around. Albert had been brewing coffee and unwrapping and arranging sweet pastries and Bavarian cream filled delicacies onto plastic platters.
Elka had straightened the stiff collar of her stark white blouse and pinstriped blazer as she approached Albert’s coffee cart. He had offered her a warm smile and didn’t tell her that he wasn’t quite set up for business yet when he saw her nerves peeking out from behind her statuesque and stoic facade.
Elka stood a little over 5’8 and in her Jimmy’s, she came in just a hair under six feet. Albert’s smile broadened when Elka couldn’t decide on a coffee and held up a wrinkled, liver-spotted hand to pause her indecisive litany.
“Allow me to make you a drink not on the menu,” he had whispered in a low conspiratorial tone and bustled about steaming soy milk and adding an amber colored sweet syrup.
Elka had smiled gratefully and accepted that first drink which started the long-running weekly tradition of Albert creating her morning coffee. She always abstained from one of the tempting and delicious looking buttery pastries. Every great once in a while, Albert would top one of her morning espressos with whipped cream and fat light-brown raw sugar crystals.
Elka put a few dollars in the battered paper tip cup and headed to the large revolving doors of the Exchange with Jerry hot on her highfalutin shiny, leather heels.
Elka breathed a sigh of relief when Jerry said he’d catch up with her later and hopped into an already packed elevator to head to the bustling seventh floor. She casually waved at him and continued in her preferred solitary fashion of the carpeted floor of the Exchange.
She sipped at her macchiato and reveled in the sweet coffee as she readied her mind for the day.
Elka was Mrs. Elka Alsina Green. Married just under four years to Justice Calvin Patrick Green of the Supreme Court.
They had met when Elka had been a key witness in a defense case against a legal firm CEO caught up in a masterful Ponzi Scheme. Judge Green had waited until the verdict had come in and had slammed his gavel down before asking her out for dinner.
In their short marriage, Elka’s bullish behavior and competitive drive led to her being promoted to her current position of an Information Systems Analyst Supervisor. Her intense focus at the Exchange led to people loving or hating her, unfortunately Jerry was head over heels for her, smitten beyond belief, despite Elka’s multiple reminders of her marriage.
She hadn’t wanted to hurt his feelings by adding that she held zero attraction towards him.
Elka swirled the coffee in the dull green paper cup as she stalked through the Exchange and paused to say hello or offer a few passing words to several colleagues. After she finished the coffee, she fished a pack of gum from her burgundy Louis Vuitton bag. Soon the sweet and artificial peppermint coated her tongue and chased away her coffee breath.
Elka adjusted the shiny plastic badge over her heart as a familiar and delightful nervous energy filled her body, leaving a vast tingling in its wake that danced through her limbs as she waited for the opening bell to ring.
As Elka’s heartbeat increased and she snapped her gum faster, Jerry had remained at the Exchange entrance and looked down at the older man running a stiff bristled brush over the tops of his shoes.
Jerry could nearly see his reflection in the buffed surface of his shoes.
“You can’t short the stock because Bruce Wayne goes to a party,” Jerry said loudly to the man sitting next to him. The man whose name Elka couldn’t seem to remember. Dennis.
“Wayne coming back is change. Change is either good or bad. I vote bad.” The man who Jerry was looking down upon in his current sitting position as well as in life was a very loyal man with five grown daughters. Esau pretended to be every part the simple-minded man who was shining the shoes of the pretentious, all in hopes for a few crisp bills and shiny coins to rain down around him.
Esau continued to work the brush over the tops of Jerry’s gleaming shoes, urging a glow to swim to the surface. As Jerry and Dennis continued to discuss Bruce Wayne, Esau let his eyes wander over to his black nondescript backpack which held a loaded automatic weapon.
“On what basis?” Dennis asked.
“I flipped a coin,” Jerry answered casually before adding. “Come on let’s go scalping,” he said as he tossed a fresh five-dollar bill to land next to Esau‘s leg.
Esau watched Jerry adjust and smooth down his royal purple tie that stood out proudly against his bright blue and white striped shirt.
While Elka covered a deep yawn, Scott Carthwright pulled a creased ten dollar bill out of his pocket when the delivery guy from Antonio’s, a stellar delicatessen, walked up with a brown paper bag.
Scott opened the bag and pulled out the parchment wrapped sandwich that was supposed to be a mortadella on wheat with a fat pile of pungent pepperoncini and thick rings of Vidalia onion. He was looking forward to the olive oil and balsamic dressing that would soak the bread and impregnate it with the progeny of sweet, bitter, spicy, and savory. Scott let out a dramatic exasperated sigh and looked at the delivery guy who sported sharp features and a hooked nose. “It says rye, I said no rye man.”
The salt and pepper haired delivery man, Joshua, flicked his eyes over to the clock before his gaze landed on Scott’s plastic badge and ID number, G13689.
While Scott continued to bitch about his sandwich, on the marble landing of the carved staircase, Karl pushed a wooden handled mop along the floor after a pair of traders walked past. His beige monochromatic clothing made him almost disappear in the sea of ostentatious bustling busybodies with their platinum money clips, excessive caffeine consumption and high blood pressure.
Karl glanced down at his sunny yellow mop bucket filled with sudsy water.
Submerged in the soapy water was a matching automatic weapon to Esau’s, which laid in deadly dormancy, waiting to take lives.
Elka glanced up at the large clock and made her way to her glass-walled corner office, which was sprawling and spacious, she smiled at the fresh peonies her secretary Janice had left on the corner of her desk.
No sooner had Elka taken her seat and booted up her computer, when her life changed irreparably by a masked man in a leather jacket.
The metal detectors began to blare their alarms as Bane walked into the lobby of the Exchange, armed guards milled about with their federally issued .40 caliber handguns.
Bane’s broad shoulders were encased in a well-worn and creased leather jacket. DCS Downtown Courier Service, was emblazoned across the back in dull brick red letters.
Bane’s thick and heavily corded muscular neck and body were obscured by the fire engine red helmet that drew the attention of Sandra, a full-time member of the Exchange’s security team.
Sandra approached Bane and began to recite her repetitive litany for newcomers to the Exchange.
Her dark hair was pulled back into a low ponytail and she struggled to not roll her eyes in irritation at yet another person not being able to read the sign that clearly stated to remove all headwear, from hat to motorcycle helmet.
“Hey rookie, lose the helmet. We need faces for camera.”
“Come on,” Sandra managed before the red helmet was off Bane’s head and smashing into her face. The bridge of her nose exploded, and she saw bright blue stars before losing consciousness.
She would awake in a narrow emergency room gurney a while later, a plastic IV line in one arm, keeping the pain down to a dull roar.
In a brutal display of startling power, Bane moved to the right and swung the helmet in an arc, catching another guard in his forward momentum. He dodged left and avoided the next man’s reaching arm and gun. Bane slipped around the man’s extended arm and forced him to discharge his weapon before dropping him to the ground.
Bane looked around at the fallen guards, his veins and arteries swelled and became engorged with lethal toxicity. His body moved with the feral grace of felines stalking in the tall brush of the Serengeti.
“This is a stock exchange, there’s no money you can steal,” Jerry said in a tone that still held the repugnant tone of his obnoxious silver-spooned upbringing.
“Really? Then why are you people here?” Bane rebutted quickly and pulled Jerry roughly by the neck to a nearby desk. Bane slammed Jerry’s soft featured face onto the desk’s paper cluttered surface and ripped the plastic access badge from his chest.
Dennis tried to sink into his seat and disappear off of Bane’s radar, his sweating fingers struggled to not drop Bane’s red motorcycle helmet onto the ground. He felt like he was going to piss his pants, sphincter tightening. His stomach threatened to reject his liquid latte breakfast, acidic bile burned at the back of his throat.
While the metal detectors continued to blare their alarms as the masked group of men stormed the lobby. The masked men were all heavily armed and swarmed the offices and took up post by the elevators.
One of the men sprayed a line of bullets in the ceiling and the abrupt gunfire quieted a lot of screams.
Another anonymous man lifted a bullhorn to his masked mouth and began to speak. His voice reverberated through the lobby and reached Elka’s ears as she crawled under her desk and hugged her knees to her chest, through the glass walls, Elka could see that Janice had taken the same position under her own desk.
“Disobedience will be punished by death,” the masked man began and in a brutal display of startling power, grabbed one of the crying interns who was wailing incessantly and pulled her to her feet. He swung the bullhorn in an arc, catching the crying woman in mid-sob and knocking her unconscious to the floor.
“Cooperation and silence are what will allow you to retain your life.” Elka peeked around the corner of her desk as the masked man looked around at the people shaking in fear, the veins and arteries in his muscular neck swelled and became engorged with lethal toxicity. His body moved with the feral grace of felines stalking their unsuspecting prey in the tall brush.
Elka ducked back under her desk as the man’s gaze took to sweeping across the faces of the scared men and women standing in trembling huddles. They were corralled by their own fear, nearly paralyzed with the thought that the next bullet fired was going to kiss them between their shoulder blades.
Elka took a sharp intake of breath and nearly felt the weight of the masked terrorist’s eyes pass over where she was hidden from view. She flinched when she heard his voice grow in volume as he moved down the hallway, his men had spread out and were dragging people from their offices and impromptu hiding spots.
Elka pressed her lips together and inhaled deeply through her nose, she tried to remember all the jargon her yoga instructor spouted about finding a place of calm and being able to breathe away anxiety. She closed her eyes; her heartbeat was pounding in her ears with a dull roar and she couldn’t shake the image of the masked man. A short film on perpetual repeat, danced behind her eyelids of his predatory stalking around the Exchange floor, his eyes found every weakness among the hostage masses, from their red blood cells to their very warm, wet core.
Elka risked another peek around her desk just as the armed man did another visual sweep. His eyes landed on Elka when her face appeared around the mahogany desk. Elka found herself unable to move, trapped under his warm caramel colored eyes.
As the dangerous man approached her with light footfalls despite his heavy boots, he watched her expression fill with fear. He smiled behind his mask as he closed the distance between them, walking towards her with deliberate and painful slowness.
He stopped in front of her, “stand up,” he ordered and pointed to the floor in front of him. He watched her struggle to stand and found he barely had to drop his eyes to return her wide-eyed stare. His eyes fell to her plastic badge indicating her supervisorial capacity.
The next few moments were a blur for Elka, she was startled back to reality by the feel of his massive hand enclose around her bicep.
From the closeness of his proximity, his voice caused her stomach to clench and her mouth went dry.
“How much longer does the program need?” the intricate metal asked man asked Esau, with his eyes completely trained on Elka and the rapid and rise and fall of her chest.
“Eight minutes but they cut the fiber, cells working,” Esau said as he watched the progress of the computer program weave its way into the monetary network.
She flinched when she heard his voice call again to the man that had until not too long ago, shining shoes.
“Time to go mobile,” sounded the masked man’s musically toned voice as he closed a large hand around her upper arm. From the closeness of his proximity, his voice caused her stomach to clench and her mouth went dry.
The next few moments were a blur for Elka, she was startled back to reality by the feel of his massive hand yank her around by her bicep.
Elka heard the shouting of the masked man’s counterparts and fresh gunfire erupted as she was pulled towards the exit doors of the Exchange.
“Everybody up!” a deep male voice shouted and was followed up by a spray of bullets. Some hit yielding flesh with a meaty smack.
“You two, move.”
Bane paused in front of Dennis and pulled at the red helmet that he was clutching like newborn stock options.
“Thank you,” Bane said in a haunting and melodic tone as he pulled the helmet from Dennis’s sweating hands.
Elka seemed to wake up as the physically imposing man pulled her towards a line of waiting motorcycles.
She began a futile attempt to pull free of his grasp.
He didn’t audibly respond to her feeble attempt at resistance, instead he tightened his grip until he forced a hiss of pain from her lips and yanked her towards the closest bike.
Bane didn’t relinquish his stranglehold on Elka’s arm, even as he swung his leg over the bike and settled on the padded seat. He spared a glance at Elka before he pulled her to perch in front of him.
Her fears were renewed when he started the bike’s engine and began to let it idle as the other men with him gathered the remaining hostages at the exit doors and got on the bikes as they gunned the engines to life.
Outside, SWAT and police milled about and argued about the best approach to the terrorists.
Foley and Blake had their firearms leveled at the Exchange as one of the rooftop snipers squinted and called out. “I’ve got something.”
“Steady….” Foley called.
“Steady.”
The hostages started down the steps of the Exchange and the security chief shouted over the growing Gotham Police Department’s adrenaline buzz.
“Hold your fire, they’ve got hostages.”
In the midst of the shouting, Elka tried to slide out of Bane’s grasp, she almost squealed with victory when the toe of her shoe hit the ground. Her joy was fleeting as Bane wrapped a powerful arm around her and pulled her back until she was flush against his chest. She was forced to shift her body until the smooth, metal gas tank was cool against the inside of her trembling thighs.
As Bane and his men tore through the city on their motorcycles, they dropped their hostages one at a time.
The police force erupted in chaos and officers tried left and right for a clean shot at any and all of the terrorists, while trying desperately to avoid the innocents.
Some of the unlucky guys and gals landed poorly and Gotham’s emergency room had a slew of broken wrists and ankles to grit-filled road rash.
The original objective had been to take temporary hostages in order to ensure a safe escape from the Exchange.
As Bane urged the bike’s speedometer higher, Elka squeezed her eyes shut.
Bane kept his grip on her strong and unyielding, through the razor thin vents of his mask, he could detect the sensual aroma of a high-end parfum, sold only in overpriced blue glass bottles.
The fragrance held the sweet and citrus undertones of rosehips and bergamot.
Bane inhaled a lungful of the subtle fragrance as he continued to maneuver the motorcycle through the city.
As he steered them further from the Exchange, Elka began to fall still under her body’s shock response.
“Where are you taking me?”
Bane was genuinely surprised when Elka’s voice sounded above the wind rushing past them. He responded immediately and without delay as soon as her last spoken syllable had tumbled from her lips.
His single word response caused her vocal cords to temporarily cease to function.
“Home.”

 What're bath Bombs?
Bath bombs are like really, really big Alka-Seltzer tables that bubble and fizz when they hit the water. Usually they're made of baking soda, cream of tartar, and citric acid with some sort of binder like oil. Sometimes they also have scents, colors, salts, herbs, flowers, glitter, or other cool stuff to help your bath set or match your mood.
You'll usually see bath bombs as spheres or hemispheres, but there can be hearts, gems, stones, cars, animals and more. You can also find loose bath bombs called bath fizzies, but the shaped options are most popular.
HOW IT WORKS
Sea Salt - Sea water is packed with all the nutrients necessary for life. Sea salt distils and concentrates them for use in food, cosmetics, and more. The nutritional wealth of sea salt includes vital minerals like sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, bromide, chloride, iron, copper, and zinc, among other beneficial elements. Sea salt helps in improving the skin barrier function and eliminating the roughness and inflammation on the skin’s surface. Studies have shown that this anti-inflammatory effect is attributed to the presence of a high content of magnesium in these salts. Sea salts are naturally anti-allergenic and are considered beneficial in providing relief from asthma and other allergies. Sea salt baths also alleviate the risk of infections and contribute towards the overall immunity of the body. Sea salts are also effective in treating conditions like hives, skin rashes, dandruff, and hair loss.
Shea Butter - Grade A Golden Raw, Imported from Ghana, organic, kosher, halal, Non-GMO, sustainably sourced. Shea clinically proven to be one of the single best things you can put on your skin, hair, & nails. {Pronounced *SHAY* Butter} works as moisturizer, anti-inflammatory, heals stretch marks, evens skin tones, has SPF 6, aids skin elasticity & collagen production, reduces the look of cellulite, aids skin healing and repair, supports cuticle health, smells amazing.
Epsom Salt - Epsom salt is a naturally occurring pure mineral compound. It's one of those centuries old remedies and treatment for all types of ailments. It's also commonly used in gardening and around the house.  In case you're wondering, yes, this is a scientifically studied mineral and is sold with drug facts in most stores.
The most common use is to dissolve some in the bath and soak in it. Epsom salt is made of magnesium and sulfate - both easily absorbed through the skin and necessary for a healthy body. When used this way, it will help with pain relief,  relax the nervous system, soothe skin irritation, healing cuts, treating colds and congestion, and drawing toxins from the body. It will also help your body release toxins through sweat and on the porcelain throne.
If you mix a couple tablespoons with water and drink it, Epsom salt is also a digestive aid and gentle saline laxative. You're essentially giving the magnesium direct access to your digestive tract, which lets it absorb into those muscles. It'll work to relax them and let everything slide much smoother. It's my go to choice since it doesn't leave me feeling gassy or nauseous afterward.
Agave - Blue agave is the plant used to make tequila. It's a sweet plant native to the wild deserts of the Americas. In Mexican tradition, it's known to help reduce wrinkles, and build strength, resiliency, and elasticity to the hair. It's usually sold in nectar form, a thick brown syrup. It's naturally high in calcium, isoflavonoid, alkaloids, coumarin and vitamins B1, B2, C, D and K, and provitamin A. It's also home to a substance called saponins. They're natural surfactants, cleaners that help break down dirt and oils. They're also one of the best known natural stimulants of hyaluronic acid.
“…I always love the Honey Shea bomb, my new favorite in recent history was the Anti-Aging Milk & Mud bomb and my latest “I wish I scored that one!” regret was the Bamboo Lotus with Hempseed Oil bomb. Keep an eye on the bath bomb page to see the current selection…”

IMBOLC was so MAGICAL!! Oh my goodness!!
It's a bit of a long story and I don't want to leave out too many details but I am so glad it all turned out more than ok!! I did not have enough time to put everything together easily and I had to whip up a ritual last minute and I was staying at a coworker’s BOUGIE apartment that is BEAUTIFUL and Ideal for an Imbolc setting (the color scheme is like all white, gray and cream with TALL ceilings, Huge french windows, fluffy white carpets, fireplaces I could put white pillar candles in, long sheer white curtains, you get the point lol) but literally I had a witch gathering party at his place while he was away and I had to make it look like nothing. ever. happened.. the next morning.
I bought these string candle-lights which everyone was laughing at how in theme it was but I strung some across window sills and over the fireplace that I've stuffed white pillar candles in. I stuck tea lights everywhere and found some silvery tealights at a corner shop that were "spa scented" which sounds weird but!! They smelled fantastic and made the space feel calmer. I topped those with sage leaves. I used vanilla incense sticks and this other scent called 'Divine' (that stamford masala incense brand you might see at every spiritual shop) that really elevated the space and made it feel calm and angelic. The whole apartment felt very angelic, light, white and fluffy. On their large screen TV I made a visual playlist on youtube of timelapse videos of nature thawing into spring and frost melting or flowers sprouting from the ground. I played a lot of winter meditative tracts and purifying binural beats.
I pulled strings to get out of work early so I could run to my coworkers place, feed his cats, and get to cooking!! I made a spread of cheese, (mostly brie), coconut cheese, cheese infused crackers and poppyseed crackers, black sable grapes and blueberries that I sprinkled silver bonbons in.
I prepared 3 tonics as a welcome drink that my witch friends could choose from to what potion will aid them for the seeds they are sowing and the cycles to come. They were syrups that were agave based and infused with herbs overnight. There was one for clarity to know what steps to take to achieve goals and that was an infusion of sage, juniper berries and rosemary. There was one for inspiration and sudden muse or creativity to help complete projects and that one was an infusion of valerian root, chamomile, blue poppyseeds and caraway seeds. (Seeds were also symbolic in this one lol), then lastly there was one for inner fire and a wake-up call to get the drive going to get tasks done. That was a black breakfast tea leaf with a sprinkle of pepper in it. They were mixed with Gin (gin being a juniper infusion actually has an interesting history with being used as a cleanser and medicine though its obviously not used that way anymore) and tonic so they were all really herbal and refreshing (non-alcoholic drinks were just gin-free) and they all had a pretty light golden clear color. The clarity one was the most popular though I wish I drank some of the wake-up call one myself.
For food I made baked macaroni and cheese with mozzarella, sharp cheddar, brie, sweet sauteed white onions, black pepper and truffle oil. The plant-based option was stuffed cabbage rolls made with this BEAUTIFUL cabbage I had no idea existed (it caught my eye in the store) called sweetheart cabbage. It was snow-white colored and each large leaf was somewhat heart-shaped. I stuffed it with a sauteed combo of white sweet onions, white mushrooms, chopped parsnips, cauliflower rice and coconut cheese. Lastly I made a salad of chopped fennel and the smaller leaves of the sweet heart cabbage and raw parsnips.
The whole table's food had a white and beige theme lol. We all caught up about our lives and ate food and coo-ed over the cats. When everyone arrived we got to the ritual which I dressed his coffee table in different tea lights and bigger candles. Since I am WIZENED from many previous disasters with candles on tables and witch shenanigans, I put SEVERAL covers on his glass coffee table which consisted of 1- bamboo mats, 2- a white blanket as table cloth (mostly for aesthetic) 3- a coat of aluminum foil 4- 2 layers of cream table cloths. Just to ensure nothing could damage his table.
I am not the biggest fan of leading ritual cause it feels uncomfortable to me to 'lead' everyone's energy but its nice cause this is the third sabbat in a row I've hosted and I guess my friends get the gist now so they all kind of contribute their own parts to it which is.. WHAT I WANTED IN THE FIRST PLACE lol. I take initiative to host sabbats or gatherings or create a community so sometimes people think I am a leader cause I am initiating something but honestly I just want to hold space for others. Anyway the ritual started off with us cleansing baggage from our previous cycle so we can move into the next one purified. I had a juniper bundle I bought in glastonbury that I smoke cleansed everyone with.
Then we spoke about what Imbolc meant for us and how its also reflective on the cycle of life and death when the spirit enters the womb and how seeds of life and hope are stirring. I asked them each to take a tea light and visualize it as a goal or project they wanted to accomplish for this year and to dress it in herbs and oils. I had sage for clarity, rosemary for abundance, blue poppy seeds for growth and inspiration, tea tree oil for protection etc and they could carve in symbols to their candle or whatever. When they were working on that I read everyone's spirit's incarnation crosses from their human design since I knew everyone's birth time lol. The incarnation cross uses some astrology to take into consideration the position of the planets during your third trimester when it’s believed that the spirit enters the body in the womb. It’s to illuminate what your spirit’s intention in this incarnation seeks to fulfill.
Before we lit the candle my best witch friend took us on this AMAZING guided mediation that was so creative and visual and wonderful. We grounded ourselves but she took us on this story-telling guided meditation journey of us being deep in the earth and smelling the damp soil but having our goal be this light or seed within us that grows and expands until it pushes us up and out through the soil into the wintery forest air. I really felt like some reborn forest faerie sprite after that like she should record meditation podcasts.
We then lit our candles and we used the flame to light the biggest pillar candle as our combined hope and it lit ABLAZED. One of my friends couldn't get her candle to light and we did divination for her to find out what was blocking her and did a road opening spell for her so that she could overcome the obstacles.
After we wanted to do some candle scrying so another friend who does these amazing sound healing ceremonies (I went to glastonbury with her) lead the candle scrying and Y'all.. it was INSANE Like none of us were READY for the fucking adventure.. Basically we thought we'd all be staring into a candle in a trance quietly but it literally felt like something took hold of her like a greater spirit used her as a vessel and it was incredible. She told us all to hold hands and we closed our eyes and did some breathing. We all had to pulse each others hands and visualize a white thread locking us together for protection and creating a circle. She then called on to our higher guides to protect us and create this link to our higher spirits to open a channel so that we may see and allow the fire to guide us. She then was speaking so fast but also with such precision on how the light is opening a door and whatever we will see will help us unlock our true potential and see how we are the light etc for what felt like 6 minutes nonstop and it was so hard to stay on cause I had the WORST PAIN come up in the center of my back where my heart was and I was feeling like it was the culmination of energy being blocked (I have been doing sound healing there to help my heart energy but its been a rough journey), and the fire just felt like it could not channel through me cause of that blockage, but though the knot still hurts even as I type this, I could not break the circle lol. My best friend to my right was staring so intently I knew she was off like astral projecting into this fire, and as I would catch glimpses of others around me everyone was just like.. ON a Journey. I felt like it was like that scene in Harry Potter when they took the port key like we were all locked in and spiraling through time and space and I just had to wait until it was done. I looked at my friend to my right and she was beaming with TEARS covering her face, and my other friends looked windswept for some reason?? We were all like goddamn.. Everyone had Some Shit they've seen in the fire. Even if some of us didn't see something we saw a lot of colors which I mostly saw since I was really focused on the pain in my back. My friend leading the scrying said that the back area I pointed out was a channel that was blocked and is connected to my throat energy so once I fix that it can be aligned/opened but its like.. healing is so hard guys haha.
Anyway we grounded ourselves after the ritual with dessert! :) There was cheesecake (of course) I decorated with white chocolate star sprinkles and the same silver bonbon sprinkles and pavlova that could be topped with blueberries. I also had a cookie spread of butter cookies, white chocolate chip sugar cookies and white chocolate twix bars. The rest were mostly vegan desserts which were lovely. I bought coconut rice pudding but my other friends got vanilla cupcakes with thick white vegan buttercream, there was vanilla soy icecream that was really creamy and light and my aries witch friend I went to Berlin with made home made vegan tiramisu which was fantastic! She also bought red wine.
We spent the rest of the evening chatting, playing with the cats and laughing about whatever, my Aries witch friend was upset I made the dresscode all-white but she was wearing her 'artist' shirt she does painting in so she didn't care that she got tiramisu ALL OVER IT lol. (which we pointed out that no one else had stains on their white outfits but I mean she's an Aries what do you expect), and when we were all getting drunk and sleepy I asked my best witch friend if she wanted to tell a story and Oh My God she fucking DELIVERED
Basically she took us on this adventure retelling the story of Baba Yaga cause it was a tale that does also have to do with crone passing power to a maiden and a cycle re-continuing. Plus it's a midwinter tale involving fire and illumination. Anyway I used to think about how sad it was that back in the day people didn't have movies and had to like tell stories and shit but she was so good at telling this story I was like damn I get it now why people just used to sit around and tell stories together cause this shit is lit.
Before everyone left I forced people to take home food (I mean I had to get rid of all evidence of anything happening in my coworkers house) and I made everyone white paper lanterns with goodies inside and I stuck an electric tealight in it so it glows. I put a bathbomb in there, white chocolate, mint crumbles, buttermints for the non-vegans and tiny spell-jars filled with salt flakes.
When I was finally alone and had to do cleanup it took me nearly three hours but I was also drunk at that point lol. I now have left-over mac and cheese for days but gladly my aries witch friend is vegan and took the cabbage rolls with her and everyone helped take everything else. The cleaner came in the morning and essentially all evidence of anything ever occurring in that apartment was cleansed away...
I hope everyone else had a fantastic Imbolc!! It was on such a perfect moon phase too since it's the first quarter moon!!

Green Smoothies: A Delicious Way to Drink Your Nutrition
I have always enjoyed fruit smoothies, but never considered adding greens and other veggies to up the ante. I have to admit that at first, it really didn't sound too appealing. However, from the very first day that I added some fresh baby spinach to my banana, soy milk, and frozen strawberries, I was utterly hooked! It tasted wonderful and I noticed the positive side effects immediately. They helped to reduce cravings for sweets and aided in my digestion and elimination. (Sorry to have to bring up that topic so quickly, but without healthy elimination of wastes, we are bound-literally speaking-to be unhealthy and unhappy).
Before I continue, I would like to note that I used to make most of my smoothies with soy milk. Nowadays, not so much. Because soy can interfere with the natural production of hormones, I found that too much soy decreased my libido. I do love my soy milk, but I love my libido even more! Not everyone has the same results, and I know that other women benefit from eating more soy. It depends on the individual.

Here are the benefits of drinking green smoothies:
- Green smoothies encourage healthy digestion and elimination.
- Cells in the fruits and vegetables are broken down by the act of liquefying, therefore your body assimilates the nutrients quickly.
- Green smoothies control cravings for sugar because the natural sugars found in veggies and fruits satisfy our need for sweet food. Also, our cravings for sweets are often a signal from our bodies that something is missing. Green smoothies fill that gap.
- Green smoothies are an easy and satisfying way to include leafy greens into our diets.
- Green smoothies hydrate our bodies, making it easier to get the liquids that we need daily.
- Green smoothies provide much needed fiber.
- Green smoothies help us to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables.
- Green smoothies provide enzymes from the raw fruits and vegetables. (These enzymes help us to digest our food).
- Green smoothies help to alkalize our blood pH. A high acidic pH leads to illness and disease, and drinking green smoothies neutralizes this acidic environment.
- Green smoothies provide chlorophyll, which cleanses and builds blood, among other things.
- Green smoothies are antioxidant rich, helping our bodies to fight free radicals and toxins in our environment.
- Green smoothies help to reduce inflammation.
- Green smoothies provide a way to include superfoods into our diets, if you are so inclined. Throw in some chia seeds, maca powder, gogi berries, aloe vera, hemp seeds, raw cacao, spirulina and blue-green algae. It's a tasty and convenient way to include these power houses of nutrition.
Early on, I made my smoothies in a regular blender and kept it pretty basic-some fresh fruit (usually bananas), some leafy greens (spinach, kale, Swiss chard, romaine, dandelion greens, etc.), and frozen fruit. I also used avocado quite frequently. If it needed a little sweetener, I would use maple syrup, raw agave nectar, or raw honey (in very small amounts).
Tumblr media
In the regular blender, I needed to add some liquid in order to sufficiently puree it. I would use organic whole milk, coconut milk, almond milk, soy milk, yogurt, or clean water. (I have since lowered my intake of soy milk and soy products). Sometimes, I would add orange/pineapple juice and use fresh mango or pineapple for the fruit. For those tropical green smoothies, I would also use a little canned coconut milk. There is really no end to the combinations of fruits and veggies. Just make sure that you listen to your body, and if you experience discomfort, make some changes the next time around. Some combinations of fruits and veggies can cause gas or bloating in some people. If you find this to be true, keep your green smoothies simple while you figure out what works best for your body.
If you find that you're no longer enjoying how they taste, or you find that you're having a difficult time finishing them, try switching the greens and the fruit because your body may be craving variety or different nutrients. Also, keeping it simple for a few days may be what your body is asking for. I have also found that under-processing green smoothies make them less palatable. Make sure that you run your blender long enough to liquefy the fruits and veggies, and break down the tough fibers. If your smoothie is unappealing, try processing it longer and you may enjoy it so much more.
It is best if you drink them in the morning before you have eaten, or a long time after your last meal. For many people (self included), these do not sit well on a full stomach, as fruit always digests easier on an empty one.
Vary your fruits and veggies to get the full benefit of including different vitamins and minerals into your diet.
I want to note that some people cannot tolerate raw spinach or raw kale. (Those with liver or gall bladder issues, in particular.) Pay attention to your body's signals. If it bothers you, use other vegetables.
Drink then slowly. Gobbling any food can cause digestive issues.
Include green smoothies frequently into your diet, and you will be so happy that you did. Try them for a month, and see how much better you feel.
This is how smoothies, in a regular blender, are made
Start with a leafy green vegetable. You want to stay away from the bitter ones, such as mustard greens and arugula. I use approximately two cups of greens, but you can begin with less until you get used to it a little.
Add a little bit of liquid - maybe a cup or so. Then blend until the greens liquefy.
Now add whatever sounds good to you- banana, any fresh fruit, some avocado, maybe some cucumber, a little parsley, and some frozen fruit (strawberries, pineapple, mangoes, blueberries, etc.). As a rule of thumb, try to use approximately 40% veggies and 60% fruits. This insures a tasty green smoothie.
Sweeten a little, only if needed. Nowadays, I don't need to sweeten my green smoothies, but if you need to, go ahead and add a little to your taste.
I have since purchased a Vitamix and my green smoothies have reached a whole new level. I now use red beets, celery, carrots, cucumbers, apples with the skin, and any fruit or veggie that appeals to me. I don't need to use a liquid unless I want to thin it down a little, or if I want it for the taste. (Frozen fruit can add a lot of thickness. The picture up above is one of my thick smoothies. Almost "milkshake" like.) This morning's green smoothie was a very ripe banana, three large kale leaves, a small red beet, a lot of frozen strawberries, and a little spring water. It was actually a beautiful red smoothie! I have made green smoothies that were very busy with a lot of different vegetables, and I have made them simple, using only a few.

It was actually a beautiful red smoothie! I have made green smoothies that were very busy with a lot of different vegetables, and I have made them simple, using only a few.
For a simple, easy green smoothie, just blend 2 cups of a leafy green with 2-3 cups of fruit. I always use some frozen fruit because it keeps it cold. Add a little liquid, as needed. (There are times when I prefer it to be that simple.)
If you want to use unfrozen fruit, adding a handful of ice cubes does the trick.
This is a "busy" green smoothie that I've made in my Vitamix:
Organic purple grapes, celery, cucumber with the skin, red beets, some greens from the beet tops, rainbow Swiss chard, parsley, slice of fresh ginger, slice of fresh lime (with the skin), and frozen strawberries. This was truly delicious-both pungent and sweet at the same time. A regular blender couldn't handle all of this very well, but this gives you an idea of how creative you can get and how nourishing green smoothies can be.
For those who don't know-a Vitamix is a very powerful blender that can liquefy most fruits and vegetables. They are expensive, but well worth the investment in your health. With a Vitamix, you can also grind your own flours, make your own nut butters, make frozen sorbets in less than 60 seconds, and cook soup right in the container. A worth while investment!
Adding green smoothies into my diet was one of the healthiest choices that I have ever made. My body craves them, and I find them to be delicious and extremely satisfying.

✨ Magic in Soaked Oats Smoothie Bowls ✨
 (These pictures are all mine)
There's ways to incorporate magic into everything in your life. It took me like a while to realize I should maybe make a post about this cause I do this almost every single day (unless I'm craving something savory in the morning). The key to this is preparing and in the preparation is magic!!  ✨
Before I get into the magic part I'll get into how to make this and tips!
How to make this  The night before take a cup of raw oatmeal and leave it in a bowl covered with water to soak in the night. In the morning blend a smoothie, strain the oats, and mix it in with dried fruits, fresh fruits, nuts, whatever you like. To make a pretty top layer just leave a tiny bit of smoothie in the blender to pour on top and smooth out for an even clean top coat. Decorate with nuts, fruits, make sigils with syrup, chocolate or nut spreads.
Smoothie Tips  For a nice thick smoothie that blends well with the oats use banana or an avocado in the smoothie. You don't need a lot of liquid in this, just enough like a little splash of juice, water or milk to help it blend. Adding protein powder helps to make it more balanced and filling and of course you can add other vitamins and supplements like spirulina or vitamin C.
Supplies Tips Buy frozen fruits. Not only will they last weeks but they are way cheaper. Plus you will have bags of fruits that you can use like a few pieces in each smoothie. The cost will be incredibly inexpensive and practical, almost the complete opposite if you did this all with fresh unfrozen fruits. Fresh fruits like berries rot faster and for some reason cost more maybe cause if proper shipping to keep them fresh. If you don't want cold smoothie bowls thaw out your fruit by putting them in a bowl of warm water first for like 3 min. Also you can make a magical tea blend and add it to your smoothie. Also the texture of dry fruits really makes the bowl super pleasant and not as soggy as if you had a lot of fresh fruits mixed in there it's a personal preference of mine I guess. Fresh fruits are always pleasant to have for decoration but you don't need to buy a lot to do this weekly. Also vegetables like spinach and kale makes great smoothies a long with vegetable juices.
Preparation Tips  Preparation is important and you could do this daily with some thinking ahead involved. You can make a smoothie the night before, mix it in a jar of dry raw oats and let the oats soak in the smoothie over night so it's ready the next day to take out the fridge and eat on the run/at work/ wherever you gotta run off to. Without preparation this could take too much time in the morning for everything (sometimes I forget to soak the oats so I let it sit in hot water for 15 minutes, then I like to make pretty decorations etc.) with some planning this can be practical but without it it could cost a lot of time. Also you can even make sandwich bags with frozen fruits portioned for a smoothie so it's already organized in case you don't want a smoothie sitting too long in a fridge.
✨Magic✨ Now that the basics are covered let's get into the magic step by step!   A- Soaking the Oats  Raw oats need to be soaked for digestion reasons I believe it helps the body process the raw oats (I'm sorry I'm not a nutritionist so I don't know the specifics) but this has opportunities to infuse intent into it! You can soak oats in quartz water or place a plate over the bowl of soaking oats to cover it and put crystals/a crystal grid on top to charge it. If you have a glass plate you can leave it under moonlight or make sun oats by leaving it under sunlight. You can charge the oats with your intention also by placing a spell candle with a holder over the plate. You can also make a special tea and use special herbs and let the oats soak in that over night.  B- Smoothie Blends Smoothies are incredibly magical to me and are so pretty and colorful and have so much potential to be healing. There could be a whole other post for smoothie magic and potions. Smoothies are made up of a few parts    -the base to help it be thick. This can be a banana or an avocado and sometimes purees. Nut or chocolate spreads help it's texture (Like almond butter, nutella or speculoos even). Blueberries help it to be like gelatinous if layering is important to you. Yogurt helps to make it thick too.  -fruits and or vegetables.  You don't really need a lot and also pure fruit juice and vegetable juice makes great substitutes if you can't get the actual fruit (Like cranberry, pomegranate etc since they take a lot to juice. Also I love carrot juice and beet juice but sometimes we don’t have time to bust out the juicer too so having a bottle of that helps). Also same with jams and it helps make it a little sweeter!  -vitamins. You can add egg shell powder for calcium (please make it yourself. Dry used eggshells then blend them; wear a mask/bandanna so you don’t breathe in the powder after blending), vitamin C, protein (avocados are good sources of protein too btw), activated charcoal to absorb crap like if you're hung over from drinking too much alcohol it helps, fish oil etc. some supplements come in capsules, you can always break them up and add the same serving amount as you would if you were taking it by water.  -some liquid to help it blend Such as milk, tea, fruit juices, vegetable juices, a mix of both or all. You only need a splash!  With the basics of smoothie building it's easy to make a special spell. For energy and or motivation you can make a smoothie with mango chunks, banana, a splash of coconut milk and orange juice and/or vitamin c, some vanilla yogurt for texture (optional) and once blended add dried mango and candied orange peels to the bowl. Bonus to let the oats soak in rhodiola rosea herbal tea and charge with a citrine or crazy lace agate stone on a plate over the bowl overnight.  For cleansing banishing (which I do this one often during the waning moon and there’s a picture above) make a black moon smoothie with activated charcoal, blackberries, blueberries, almond butter, papaya and cascara degrada (though be careful since cascara degrada is a mild laxative). Soak oats with obsidian stone on a plate over the bowl for a bonus. I like to decorate the top with banana slices or almond slivers.  To relax, have less anxiety, make a smoothie with kava powder blended with banana, almond or hazelnut butter, cinnamon, valerian extract (or supplement) and almond milk. Bonus soak the oats in chamomile tea overnight with lepidolite (Rose quartz and blue lace agate can help here too) on a plate over the bowl.  For psychic enhancement make a smoothie with banana, blueberries, lemon yogurt, violet extract, Passion flower and valerian root extract and soak it in lavender tea with an amethyst charging on top on a plate. Decorate with walnuts and edible lavender buds. (I’m sure if you guys know some nutritional properties to these ingredients I chose blueberry and walnuts cause they are great for the brain lol and the others obviously for intuitive powers).  For a spell for growth make a smoothie with bananas, peach and spinach with milk, agave/honey and spirulina and soak with aventurine or jasper on a plate over the bowl. Mix and decorate with pepita seeds and dried or caramelized bananas.  The list can go on forever and you can of course enjoy these as smoothies as well!  C- decoration  The final step is that you can present your bowl in a magical way! Use dried or fresh fruits to create a sigil or image. Use simple imagery like a spiral for growth, a heart for love, a waning crescent moon for banishment, the face of your enemy you will consume with a voracious hunger for a curse, a star for luck, a sun for energy, a cross for protection. Especially using dried fruits, nuts and seeds it won't be too hard to create a simple symbol! It's very fun to decorate smoothie bowls and a lot of intent can be put into it!
I hope this post was informative and inspiring! I hope I have inspired at least a few witches with the idea of smoothie spells lol. Feel free to ask me any questions!

today’s food experiment: coffee with a small spoonful of raw blue agave as the sweetener. i want to slowly rework caffeine back into my system in baby step increments, and since i can’t have sugar or creamer, agave’s my next best bet. it’s already like syrup, anyway.
