just saw someone say that Buck is still on the hamster wheel regardless of Tommy being a man because this relationship also just 'happened to him without knowing how he got there' and like... did we watch the same episode? because 7x05 was very literally about Buck making the decision to pursue this relationship even though he thought Tommy had dumped him for good.

he thought it through, he decided that he's interested and then went after Tommy himself. he apologised for his behaviour, he told Tommy 'this is where I'm at, this is what I can offer and I'd like to give this a go' if anything, aside from the initial kiss, this relationship is 'happening' to Tommy, not Buck.

I've been seeing a number of posts opposing the whole "likes are worthless" idea on here and I feel like a lot of yall are purposefully misunderstanding what creators actually mean when we say that. no one is saying that getting a like means nothing. it's a nice little indicator that a single person enjoyed your post, but it's not helpful in any way to circulating art/creations. likes are worthless to the process of getting your work seen.

we're talking about likes this way because we're trying to push back against the huge disparity in the likes to reblogs ratios. we're trying to get people to understand that your likes, while not damaging in any way, do absolutely nothing to help creators boost their work. they're nice, but that's it. you should be reblogging the work that you enjoy.

I think when you are older than someone, it is your duty to ensure that people younger than you are optimistic about both their current place in life and their future. High schoolers should not tell elementary schoolers who love school that they're going to hate it one day and that they should consider themselves lucky for having relatively no homework. Adults should not tell college students that this period of their life will be over soon and when they have a job they'll wish they were back in high school.

I think it's both a courtesy and a responsibility. You, as someone in a potential position of authority or respect or even just Person Who Is Older Than Them (which counts for a lot for a very long time), must not tell younger people that their futures will be bleak and unhappy. Even if you're right about how that nine year old will grow to hate school. Even if you know intimately the humiliation and exhaustion of jobseeking. You have the moral responsibility to be kind to them without projecting your pain onto them.

BASED AS FUCK HEADER so many places online and particularly on Tumblr are so insanely hostile toward systems. I follow an AITA blog and every time one where someone involved is a system I have to scroll by because I know the AITA is just gonna be someone asking if they're an asshole for abusing a system all of the comments are "the system is the asshole because they're a chronically online delusional faking 13 year old manipulative sociopathic narcissistic immature freak" which not only shows off like ninety OTHER layers of ableism but is also just. so much fucking vitriol toward systems for no reason. On other confession blogs there's always a dozen confessions about how evil fakers online are tricking innocent singlets into thinking everyone has DID and they always have like 9 times the usual amount of reblogs and all the tags are like "#THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". There's r/fakedisordercringe and "best of fakedisordercringe" compilations on YouTube and people on TikTok love to not only make 30 piece long slideshows about evil fakers online (see above) but then also it's like. the funny haha meme on there to tell systems they deserved their trauma and should go through more of it. This has just turned into a rant there is SO much ableism I see and suffer thru online as a system member so thank you for showing explicit support for systems. It's tiny but it means a lot to me to know that not everyone thinks of ppl like me as monsters who "get what they deserve" yknow

it really sucks how much of tumblr is just a popularity game anymore. unless youre doing the biggest trends/fandoms yr art doesnt really get any engagement. like shit man none of my stuff has broke 50 notes and even on pieces that are 20+ hours of work its like. 2 notes. 8 notes. 5 notes. its fucking disheartening when you like create smthn you want to share w a lot of people and you want to be shown off and to have ppl SEE it and then its like. you get done with this 40 hour piece and you get 2 likes.

im on a train and really fucking tired but i would just like to say writing on tumblr isnt that deep.

like yes we put our time and effort into our writing and want for it to be well-received by our followers and everyone who comes across it in general, but at the end of the day tumblr is just a little app that has no place in the bigger part of our lives. we have our own jobs, education, lives to worry about, as well as a multitude of incidents that occur everyday, and spending this time actively sending out false accusations, spreading unwarranted hate, using literal real world tragedies as a comparison for something as insignificant as tumblr jealousy…

u know what we call this? being chronically online. and i hope to whoever does this in their apparently free life gets well soon and realises there are much bigger, more prevalent issues at hand than their urge to be immature.
