i saw on tiktok people saying they thought babe’s character was boring, and they’re not wrong.

hear me out.

compared to the other listeners, babe has no personality. let’s focus in on the shaw-pack listeners exclusively. angel’s a hyper-active, childish character, sweetheart’s a hard working detective, darlin‘s got a whole past that took 3 videos to cover. compared to the rest, we know almost nothing about babe. there was an earlier video when asher talked about their work struggles but that was it. that’s all we know about them; they’re a semi workaholic.

and while it does suck because there’s not a lot of development for us to follow with them, i don’t fully hate it. it gives us as creatives a lot of leeway on how we want babe, or other listeners to be. whenever characters have too much personality, it can be hard to relate to them. i love the work and dedication we get from erik, and there’s a TON of characters and listeners he writes for so we’re bound to get a semi-boring one every now and then. so far, that’s how a lot of us view babe. they’re just someone to ride along with asher in his journey, never someone to take the wheel.

i hope in the future they can have a moment, like give babe the spotlight for a second. even if, for writings sake, it’s a babe and angel moment. there’s so much you can do with two humans navigating the supernatural world. use it!

TL;DR: babe has wasted potential and deserves a subplot of SOME kind.

Everyone's saying Too Sweet is Darlin/Sam's song and I get it to an extent but neither of those mfs are 'sweet'. They are insane and delusional sexed up FREAKS.

Do you think the reason Angel stole David's jacket when he came home and found them asleep on the couch wasn't because of Angel being Angel but because they were scared?

David was working late that night, the weather was bad, what if Angel started having flashbacks to the Inversion? What if they started panicking thinking things had gone wrong and no one had told them? What if the only way they could calm themselves down was to wrap themselves up in his jacket like they did during the Inversion, hoping they'd have the same outcome? Hoping that holding themselves in his jacket would bring him home again.

The TV wasn't on because they were watching, it was background noise so they wouldn't be stuck in a quiet house with nothing but their bad thoughts to fill the silence. Just sleep, he'll be back when you wake up. He has to be. They weren't clingy because they were trying to be cute, they were reassuring themselves that he was alive and okay, that he had come home again and everything was alright.

But they didn't want to worry David by saying why they were acting the way they were so they hid it under teasing and jokes, hoping he wouldn't be able to feel how their hands were shaking. Hoping he'd think their fluttering heart was from love instead of anxiety.

His cologne wouldn't be enough. A pillow wouldn't be his warmth around them. It wouldn't he his natural scent from a hard day's work. It wouldn't be him. And in that state of panic, they need him.

But who knows, maybe I'm just overthinking again. That's kinda what I'm known for.

Been thinking about a headcanon I have for Darlin lately

Darlin has a proclivity for imitating accents and ways of speaking. It's something they picked up since their family moved around a lot before they joined the Shaw pack.

After they spent time around Milo, they started to mimic his accent, which led to some misunderstandings between the two. Milo thought that they were making fun of him, until he saw them doing the same with Christian and they finally just sat down and talked about it. It was laughed off and just accepted within the pack as one of their quirks.

When they got mixed up with Quinn, it happened again. Except he wasn't one to laugh it off or believe them when they swore they weren't mocking him. They were such a terrible person, ridiculing how a person spoke, right? It was just another reason why they should be grateful to him, for being with them despite all their faults. (You know, typical gaslighting on his part)

Darlin tried to not do it when they started seeing Sam, but once they were living with him, it started to slip out. They imitated his Southern twang or his sayings. And every time they worried if they'd offended him, if they'd hurt him. That's what they were good at, after all.

It wasn't until Sam laughed softly after they'd slipped up, pulling them closer so he could press his lips to their cheek.

"I think you've been spendin' too much time with me, Darlin'. If my accent is rubbin' off on ya."
