Did I start watching "For Him" because of the spicy GIFs on my dash? Yes

Is the acting good? Not really, I've seen better uni BLs from Thailand.

So why am I still watching it? BECAUSE NAIL AND HIM ARE WILLING TO TALK TO EACH OTHER AND NOT JUST BRUSH OFF THEIR PROBLEMS.

THEY COMMUNICATE.

Look, they are at a restaurant to have a nice meal, Nail sees his ex and is instantly uncomfortable and Him clocks that and asks what's wrong. You know what a regular show would do, Nail would answer " Oh, nothing, it's nothing." But what does Nail do here? He honestly tells Him and Him understands that Nail is still dealing with his past relationship and they leave. Him says it's okay to feel this way and he understands that Nail is still dealing with the shit Jay did to him.

Take another instance from episode 4.

Te is being the usual creepy stalker idiot and tells that Him has done terrible things to Blue. Of course Nail wants to know what's happened so he asks Him without beating around the bush. And Him was honest about why Blue left him. We still don't know all the details but Him says he neglected Blue so Blue left him. He talks about how he needed to get some medical help because of what happened. Do you see how they communicate???! Other shows would have shown Him getting defensive and saying that Nail needn't know these things.

Even after the argument with Jay in the hallway, Him leaves because Nail is clearly upset, they talk over the phone and make up. They don't just leave it for another day and let the bad emotions stew and make each other feel like shit.

This is why I appreciate the show. They communicate. That's the foundation of a good relationship.

I think modern au Zhu SHOULD be the lesbian best friend trope to Ouyang except that its because this man is her pet project and gODDDAMIT she's gonna FIX him she's gonna MAKE him be BETTER she's going to SOLVE EVERYTHING and he will RESPECT HER (she is actively making him worse). She has a whole complex about it and everything. She has based a part of her identity on dragging this man up from his toxic funk and is fully convinced that if she tries hard enough he will eventually come to his senses and be an equal participant in this relationship. They have a terrible wonderful toxic loving codependent relationship that's neither a romance nor a friendship nor a rivalry but a secret fourth thing.

Predictably, this does not go well. The character arcs would be Zhu learning she can't fix a sinking ship and letting Ouyang fail by himself, and Ouyang learning to not be a shit person, actually, and coming out of his bubble of self-centeredness and working on himself instead of unloading his emotional labor onto the people around him. And they should both get to develop a healthier relationship with each other than what they had in canon bc queer solidarity is great and its even better when it's in the shape of some weird bullshit some gay people built out of the corpse parts of heteronormative romance (affectionate and completely unironic)

vitali currently has two tattoos, one on his chest which is the hands of the creation of adam and one on his upper arm which is a heart with a dagger stuck in it! i don't know if it would count as tattoo but he also has special lining on his top surgery scars which makes them the same iridescent golden color as his cyberware :^) he's currently a bit preoccupied with things and. well. [gestures at chapter 18] but he's always wanted more tattoos yeah, i haven't settled on what exactly but he would want to get a few more at some point

vitali was born in night city in wellsprings and surprisingly enough he still lives there now. he used to live in the megabuilding on the pier in one of the luxury apartments and now he lives in the penthouse of the building right in front of it. he likes the subdistrict a lot since it tends to be a bit calmer than other parts of the city violence-wise (his office building in the north of wellsprings is a statistical exception and should not be counted) so he was bound to end up back there again either way

he's only left night city once to travel to arizona with vincent so he hasn't really had a lot of different experiences to really know what life outside the city is like, so he doesn't really have any strong opinions on it either way. night city is a pain in the ass but it's also his home and it wouldn't be easy for him to just leave it all behind

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 FAMILY WITH MOTHER, FATHER, SON AND DAUGHTER — how many people are in your oc's immediate family? how many people are in your oc's extended family? do they have aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc? who in their family are they closest with? are they close with their birth family, or do they have a found family?

vitali has both his parents still (nadya morozova and matvey dobrynin) and two younger siblings, daniil and roksana! he has three aunts on his mother's side but never talks to them anymore because he called one of them a whore when he was young after they learned she had cheated on her husband with like four different guys and thus he's no longer welcome on that side of the family. all his grandparents died when he was still very young so he didn't know like half of them and can barely remember the others, and he's got no other family on his father's side

he moved out when he was 18 years old and then lost contact with his family for over a full decade, mainly because his mother just didn't want to have anything to do with him anymore. he's recently reconnected with them under the worst circumstances possible and his mother and both siblings have turned their back on him. that's about as far i can go right now, chapter 19 will tell us what else is going to happen <3
