c!tommy praying to a god he knows has abandoned him. Feeling dirty, tainted, and so violently alone. c!tommy muttering prayers quietly during exile, hands shaking as he held them together as tightly as he could. Desperate. Begging for any god out there to save him, Surely he's paid for whatever sins he has commited?

c!Tommy as a shepard?
Not only because of his love for animals but also as a symbol of him being the sacrificial lamb to his god that he prays to, better known as Dream. Literally led to the slaughter and having his blood spilt by this so-called god, just to revive him and show him the power he holds over him, that he is the master and Tommy is the lowly animal he owns.
But also because he’s left alone to wonder the land never able to stop in one place, because he has no one to call his own, no place that he is ever really welcome to settle.

The imagery of cdream looking like an angel and sharing the face of god/XD. And then Tommy being a demon hybrid as well as being very religious. During exile when he tells himself that Dream is his friend l, Dream would never hurt him despite evidence to the contrary. Having Dream apeer I’m the form of a ‘good at richous’ being would reinforce Tommy’s feeling that Dream was good and if he did hurt Tommy it was but Tommy deserved it.

i think i’ve realized a niche archetype i really enjoy is character with religious trauma from a made-up religion. i think a character being like “i was raised christian and it fucked me up” is way less interesting to me because i’ve seen that a thousand times and i have my own preconceived biases and opinions about it, but a character being like “i was raised in this institutional and powerful religion where we worship blogar the blowjob god and it fucked me up” is SO INTERESTING! like, who are the people in charge of blogarism? what are they trying to accomplish by using this religion to their advantage? what are their rules and codes of conduct and what are they based in? why blowjobs?

BURY YOUR GOD. // a c!tommy poem. (click for full images & better quality)
text below :) feel free to reblog !!
bury your god
in a box in the backyard.
it can be a small box—your
gaseous god will expand
or shrink
as needed. it should, however, be a box
for your god is cuboid and
deserves to be comfortable.
line the box with aluminum foil
to prevent your god seeping
into the soil and contaminating
the neighbors’ vegetable garden.
the deeper the hole the better
but we’ll understand if
you stay shallow for easier
emergency access to your god.
kiss your god-box goodbye then
gently lower
or toss
or slam-dunk it
into your god-hole.
fill the god-hole with things that are
not
your
god
until you can no longer spot the god-box,
then fill it some more after that.
lay sod atop and walk away.
do not return to the god-spot
until you can no longer remember
where the god-spot is.
and then when you do return—and
you will, of course, return—consider
whether finding your god
is worth     tearing up
the whole damn backyard.

I loved the bugs talking and warning him so so SO. much. Or the idea that he can talk to animals as a gift from Prime?? Love that. Its so underrated man. (If you're going to use this link be careful not too log in!!! In the terms and agreement states that the website will be able to see your password so for safety reasons please don't use your account as this isn't the regular ao3 its a different archive since this fic is now deleted!!)

hey hey thinking about the prime religion again. and how c!tommy was soo devout and his faith got him through exile and he would pray (ask for primes) in front of others and hung on to it to the end vs c!tubbo who was one of the builders of the church but pretty much gave it up after doomsday. also have you ever thought about how prime (most important) in canon is centered around generosity and giving to others as something easy and free and good. and that church prime was the first instance of c!dream’s god complex. i was never a big dsmp analyst but i feel like understanding it through a religious lens makes everything seem more normal. canonically ‘pogchamp’ translated to ‘amen’
the first thing ctommy put in Logsted after it was officially built was the Prime Log so he could worship... then the first thing he did after logstedshire got blown up (other than trying to off himself) was collect the Prime Log that cdream nearly destroyed, and set it up in the basement he made at ctechnos cabin.... and then the first thing he did about that log after doomsday was destroy that place of worship in the cabin.
