Summary - Living with Remus after the war

Warnings - lots of fluff, everyone lives, softie Remus, cuddle monster Remus.

Remus hated mornings.

It was a known fact. In his time at hogwarts he hated mornings, you could often find him with his head in his elbows when he was at the gryffindor table and then having to be pretty much dragged off of the table to get him to class.

He was a nightmare for it. But it was understandable to the boys because his furry little problem never really let him sleep no matter how hard he tried. So he threw himself into studying to keep his mind busy and by the time he was ready to drop off the boys were waking up. This unhealthy cycle usually consisted in the week before the full moon and the week after. Leaving only a week for Remus to rest a month and that for anyone is another type of torture.

That was until he met you. For him, you were a breath of fresh air; when stepping out into the warm sunrise in the early morning. He always craved the time you spent ever since you met in 6th year you calmed his senses down and he was never the same in the best way. You never ceased to take his breath away.

And yet still around five years after officially being together you still had this effect. Exactly like it is now. You were both lay together, in you double bed on a warm spring morning. The sun was kissing your cheekbones in a nice orangey-yellow hue. Leaving Remus speechless and flustered.

He didn’t understand what in him made him so anxious. In all honesty, he was scared that you would wake to his heart beat threatening to burst out of his chest. But still,you lay sound against his chest, taking the same rhythmic inhales and exhales. Remus didn’t move, making sure that nothing would wake you. And he stayed like that. Watching and being comforted by your presence in his arms.

That was until you woke up. You opened your eyes to be met by a kind, soft glow of sunlight shining through the blinds of your bedroom window. Then you looked up to be graced with Remus’ gorgeous chocolate brown eyes staring down at you with complete and utter adoration.

“Hey, baby.” You greeted voice still laced with sleep.

“Mornin’, love. Did I wake you?” He asked, light concern in his question.

“No you didn’t darlin’. S’fine.” You answered slowly coming round.

“Okay, good.” He confirmed ,bringing his lips to your forehead before leaning back and letting his head rest on the pillow and closing his eyes.

“Have you eaten yet?” You asked, making sure he didn’t fall asleep now that you had fully come around and he had your full attention.

“Not yet sweetheart, was waiting for you to wake up ‘fore I made food.” He said slightly opening his eyes to look at you, then closing them.

“Okay then” you paused to push yourself onto your elbows getting out of his warm, steady chest. “I’ll start- ah” sadly you didn’t get to finish your sentance as you cuddle-monster of a husband pulled you back into his embrace.

“No! Cuddle-time.” He protested, tightening his grip on your waist, not enough that it was hurting, but just enough to keep you put.

“But don’t you want some food?” You asked, giggling at his child-like state.

“We can have food later, need you right now.” He said leaning in to give you a kiss before you argued with him to get up and have breakfast.

“Let’s just sleep f’now. Love you gorgeous.” He said lips gainst your forehead with his eyes closed and pulling you in a little more against his chest before you both drifted back off to sleep in the early Saturday sun.

So I think it’s safe to say, that Remus lupin has kind of warmed up to mornings.
