I love it when retro games are conspicuously much shittier than what they're ostensibly emulating. Like, no, the N64's textures weren't that low-resolution. CRT televisions didn't look like that unless they had a busted timing circuit. The simulated rounding error on those vertices is about an order of magnitude too high if this is supposed to be PS1 style. It's physically impossible for a VHS tape to do that. It's fantastic.

actually, you know what? fuck it.
i'm hoping to collect and archive as many Old As Dirt computer games as i possibly can. specifically, i'm looking at ones from the 70s and 80s that ran on VAX computers. if you are or know someone who might have one on a drive (hard or otherwise) somewhere, PLEASE get in contact with me.
even if you don't, please reblog this so more people can see!

BRING IT BACK!
I miss a good ol' fashioned crystal version of my favourite consoles.
What do you think?

You know, I used to think streamers who play old Super Nintendo games on ultra-widescreen monitors and stretch them out so that Link's ass is twice as wide as he is tall because it's "better that way" were the worst thing I'd ever seen, but I just ran into a streamer who plays modern "NES style" retro games that were explicitly designed for 16:9 displays and squashes them horizontally to the NES's native 16:15 because it's "more authentic", and I 100% take it back.
