jrwi tumblr feels like a little neighborhood where everyone knows eachother vaguely

like, i find it silly it's so easy and normal that "bigger" accounts very often pop up in notifs of smaller ones, it's something i never see on other socials, but with what I've seen personally and other people talking about it, it really is a shared expirience-

i know jrwi is really popular, but somehow the fandom feels very small and cozy, like if you actually watch through a good portion of the episodes you get let in the cool bar where there aren't so many people and if you show off the little art or fanfic you made, everyone will see it

She used to be basically a self insert i wrote a fanfic about (never finished it), she had preomonition powers that were probably way too op and idk what to do about those, but she grew up like me now o7 other sketches and.. the old art,,,

Something I'm really loving about jrwi riptide is that despite the fact every adventure they end up on has a different main boss and asthetic and theme, there's still a hint of a "main villain" in each one. Take this from someone's who's currently at episode 67, but I'm pretty sure every single big boss we've encountered started spatting up black ooze at the end, and im like OHH MY GOD Niklaus is literally everywhere.

The different islands and adventures format is so fun and always fresh, giving space for a bunch of different vibes to be explored by the same characters, and a bunch of different npcs to me made, different species and abilities to be showed off, but the fact all of it is connected is even better; it isn't just different adventures for the hell of it, the thread is there and it's the main villain's thread.

i thought Niklaus was just gonna be Loffinlot's one-off villain that would eventually bite back cuz of the deal, now I'd be surprised if someone we encounter didn't make a fucking deal with him

Since having an object of someone makes it easier to like detect them and all that, is that why Niklaus has so many trinkets in his house???? like they aren't just for show, it's peoples stuff so he can always find them and know what they're up to with more ease (cuz im sure he can just do that anyway)

I'm brain rotting over a book that's currently being written by someone who's TECHNICALLY AN OOMF AND IM GETTING KIND OF PARASOCIAL ABOUT IT and it's terrible because there's only a few snippets of first drafts to go off understanding the characters and story and i CRAVE MORE and what's worse is they asked me to design a character as a little inspiration and that turned out to be THE MAIN VILLAIN WHO'S TECHNICALLY THE GOOD GUY AND SUPER IMPORTANT TO THE PLOT. AND I MADE HIM, I PUT DOWN THE BASE but then gave it to them and they're writing him SO WELL I LOVE THIS CHARACTER SO MUCH and i want to draw them over and over but i CAN'T BECAUSE THERE'S NO REAL REFERENCE just a stupid doodle I MYSELF MADE so i should design him myself but then again it is 2 am and AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH

at least I've claimed my spot as illustrator for the book early (wich is literally a dream, illustrating a book for someone i know)
