Morgan Wells + Tropes:

No Love For The “Wicked” (trope subversion)

In lacking both sexual and romantic attraction, Morgan knows there are already those who see her as “broken” or “inhuman.” But with the addition of her “father” being a murderer who confessed to his crime, that increases her odds of being sneered at enormously…so while she’s careful about who she comes out to, she’s also afraid deep down that at least one of them might see the Reverse Flash in her. And perhaps partly because of this fear, she pushes herself to be more heroic, even recklessly at times.

*Disclaimer: Although Morgan Thawne/RF!Morgan does exist in the Morgan AU multiverse, and is in fact aroace, this is merely to align with her “canonical” queer identity and does not contribute to her villainy in any way*

As the name suggests, Morgan, especially as she grows older and hones her powers to a fine point, becomes a hidden advantage to not only Team Flash in the present, but also to herself and Nora West-Allen in the future. It’s Iris who first calls Morgan their “ace in the hole”, and Nora who uses the nickname for Morgan later (not knowing that her mother used it first)

broo this question is like a callout post… i have a list of skills i’ve been meaning to learn since at least august of 2018 that has regretfully gone untouched + unloved.. I would say, either the ability to speak spanish or ASL? or maybe how to hand embroider, or to do calligraphy? (fun fact: i bought a quill at last year’s ren faire, mostly as a prop for the game of whodunnit we do every day + I was going to learn to use it properly but it’s sat in my RF tub since november.. la tragedie) i’m really godawful at cooking and i don’t know how to bake, so maybe i should prioritize those..i desperately dream of baking loaves of bread for my friends and family, wrapping them in twine + writing kind notes, and hand-delivering them.. uGH ;J;

🔭 what’s your go-to topic to learn about when you’re bored?

it really depends on what i’m into! most of the time, i love deep-diving and learning the weird ins-and-outs of the lore of whatever i’m really into! my brother can testify for me staying up all night on the dragon ball wiki trying to make heads or tails of the different timelines.. August-November, though, i love learning about handicrafts! i have an entire playlist on youtube dedicated to leatherworking, bookbinding, woodburning, + other funky crafts that i’ll hopefully one day delve into so that Corylana can evolve from Ditsy invader zim-kinning elf to a tru Explorer of the Woods who has seen shit + lived to tell the tale! c:

i’m such an audiophile so this question, i think, is probably the loveliest one to be asked ^ ^ a really important thing to understand about this answer is that i spent the latter half of my formative years locked up in a house all day w/ 2008 internet as my primary source of entertainment. 

most of my childhood is tied up in songs as opposed to bands. my sister and i were really Addicted to yugioh amvs, so we listened to a ton of alt rock bc that’s what all the amvs were set to? the most iconic one was this joey x mai amv from like 2008 that i am SO glad still exists.. he is everything you want Stays one of my favorite songs solely bc of polarshipping (this is a Lie that song SLAPS)  chasing cars, eclipse of the heart, iris, you and me, and hfhsh remember the name were really Crucial songs ;v; i was also ObSESSED w britney although my mom hates her + i vividly remember that they used to play hips don’t lie Every Single Time we went to eat at buffalo wild wings, so it became another obsession. my mom really loved ymca so we listened to that all the time, too c:

also FUCK my sister brought this up… the first 3 seconds of untouched by the veronicas sets off my fight or flight response because SO many people used it for their iconic 2008-2010 “xyz productions” title cards, FUCK.

things changed once we moved back to north carolina (read: my sister and i became mortal enemies?) i’m about to oust myself but vocaloid was such a huge part of my childhood (it’s also why i joined choir at all, which is hilarious considering that’s basically the rest of my life lol) i enjoyed a TON of different artists, but i remember for a fact that i was obsessed with wowaka, deco*27 (egomama and aimai elegy were particular faves) (ALSO TWO BREATHS WALKING + LOVE DISTANCE LONG AFFAIR WAIT.. WAIT…. OMG), and jin (ms. kagerou project....

on a mildly unrelated note (does hs count as one’s childhood? hm), disney’s candlelight processional brings back so many warm memories from high school! although I cannot fuck with the hallelujah chorus, even 2 years after graduation, because it brings me back to the first time I performed it + my throat locked up on stage and i couldn’t breathe consistently for like 4 minutes! ; J ; i vividly remember debating whether or not i could make it through the song w/o passing out or sitting down (if you sat down to be carried out during the performance, you didn’t receive your complimentary tickets bc you didn’t perform the whole show. My dilemma was that Hallelujah is the final song of the show + i had powerhoused through every song before it)

🥐 what food is your go-to when you want something easy to make/prepare?

in moments of dire hunger, my brother and i always resort to ramen with broccoli! ramen is a1 on its own but there’s something about the broccoli that truly elevates it.. idk. i cannot wait for when i have more time to cook + look back on this answer and cackle at my lack of cooking skills ;v;

the last person i texted was my brother ben! and bro where the fuck do i even Begin with benji, oh my god.. he and i have been through the trials and tribulations of childhood alliance + betrayal, we’ve walked through the fires of hell + lived to tell the tale of it to our mom even though we both agreed we wouldn’t snitch.. benji is a legend

I feel the same way about ben that you do about lj! we’re almost always on the same wavelength about stuff, and i feel like i can talk to him about genuinely anything c: we swing wildly between being Literally Incoherent and manic to being very real and sometimes philosophical and it is always yeehaw Times. one of the things i appreciate most about ben is that he’s SUCH a good sounding board for ideas- i always bounce my new concepts off of him and he almost always has something interesting to add or consider. sergio, and most of my other aus, would deadass Not Exist without ben’s inputs c:

DC TV AU Questions: If Iris West was told that she had no other choice, but to marry Reverse Flash in an episode of "The Flash" (out of the fact that RF had kidnapped her dad, Joe West and the only way to save to him was for Iris to marry the villain), what would the woman do? And what happens if she got everyone on Team Flash involved in this situation? Note: This alternate scenario can happen at any point in "The Flash" TV series.

I can finally answer this,in light of the most recent events of season 5. (Nora seemingly working for future Eobard)

I think that could happen,seeing as Eo is obsessed with Iris in the comics and I read a Theory that Nora could really be HIS Daughter and not Barry. So I can totally seeing him Marrying Iris,maybe after Barry disappears,and having Nora with Iris. Then getting put in Jail,ashamed Iris lies to Nora and says her Father is Barry instead. This is the real reason for her Mother being so cold toward her in The future and concealing her Powers. Also The reason Eobard reaches out to her,tells her about her Powers and convinced Nora to work with him and Mentors her.

Didn't totally match the ask,but I wanted to add my two cents 🤷🏻🧡💜⚡

Ah, okay. Sorry about that, I was just a bit confused.

Hmm, it is a rather interesting concept/scenerio. The show itself has lost my interest, so my intrepretation of certain characters is probably way off but……I believe Reverse Flash would warn Iris not get anybody from Team Flash involved or both the team and her father would pay dearly for it, thus she tries to handle it herself but still earns the attention of the team nontheless.

Once Team Flash gets involved, they start planning on a way to locate and save Joe while Iris keeps Reverse Flash busy by agreeing to marry him, then find a way to outsmart and catch him with either Barry or Wally’s (depending on when you wanted to base it) or both’s help in catching the evil speedster. Fake marriage? Maybe, or just keep RF busy by listening to him monologue.

I’m not quite sure if this makes sense or not though….been a while since I’ve watched the series. Anywho, hope this might kinda answer your questions and have a lovely evening! ^^

Morgan and Eowells’s chess game in Chp 10 of i still love you (i promise) is a favorite. I was super into chess when I was a kid, so I love loading chess games with symbolism (there will be more chess games with symbolism in the future 👀)…and his one has it in spades.

This end note explains more clearly who each piece symbolizes and why, but for the quick rundown: Queen = Barry, Rook = Cisco, Bishop = Caitlin, Knight = Hartley, King = Morgan, Player = Eowells.

The king is cornered with a queen and a knight—Morgan is cornered due to Eowells’s skillful positioning of Hartley and Barry in suitable positions to attack. And if the bishop was moved once more, it could’ve cornered the king too—Eowells was trying to convince Caitlin to agree with Barry, and perhaps with more time, he might’ve. The rook stands far away—Eowells didn’t try to persuade Cisco, because Cisco is like a son to him and Morgan is his daughter, so that’s a connection he wants strong and preserved.

I also love the idea of superhero naming, and mantles, and what have you, so two similar examples for that one:

Morgan’s preferred name is her mother’s maiden name. Tess chose that name for Morgan, in a sense “giving” her that name (ofc she didn’t know it would be Morgan’s preferred name, that’s an Eowells decision, but the symbolism of “giving” her that name stands—Eowells did not give Morgan that name, Tess did). In addition, Tina unwittingly named Morgan “Sentry”. So, in a sense, Morgan was named by both of her mother figures!

(On a related note, it’s important to me that Nora is unwittingly named by Iris the same way—this hasn’t come up in the AU yet, but it will, since I love it in canon. More agency for mom figures (female characters in general) in the Flash is sorely needed tbh, and I’m happy to provide it)

And another example is RF!Morgan in sometimes i think you might hate me (maybe you just wanna be me). Team Flash, specifically BARRY, calls her the “Reverse Flash”*, and they’re the first ones to do so. Barry formally names Eowells’s successor—and isn’t that just a kick in the teeth?

*notably, this is not them calling her the same RF who killed Barry’s mom and framed his dad. That is just an assumption Jesse made, and RF!Morgan thus assumed it was something Team Flash told her, which shows how poorly she thinks of Team Flash

Hmm what else, what else…oh! Also this, from your eyes will need some time (to adjust):

Barry trudged into the Wells house—mansion, really—determined to hate him, and determined also to hate this mysterious daughter—the key factor in this man being allowed custody of Barry. He pictured a girl a few years younger, annoying and bratty and loud. Anything that could help him hate her—anything could help him hate this. Except… Except she wasn’t any of those things. Oh, she was loud. Very loud, enough that Barry recoiled with a sharp wince when he first heard her cry. But she…she was a baby. A year old, according to Dr. Wells. A whole 10 years younger than him. He tried to deny how his heart swelled three sizes, how his immediate instinct upon hearing her cry was to ask her what was wrong. It took a few days for him to settle in, and for him to gather the courage to ask to hold her. “Hi,” he cooed. “Hi, Morgan. I’m Barry, I’m your new brother.” (That, somehow, came easier to him than calling himself Harrison Wells’s anything.) Morgan peered up at him with wide eyes. “Bo-ther?” He laughed. “Well, I guess in a way. But...no. Br-o-ther.” He hadn’t laughed, or even smiled this much, since...since that night. Only with Iris, and she…she was… Not gone—they were still classmates in school, much to Barry’s relief—but not a few doors down anymore. No longer somewhere he could walk to in his sleep. He hadn’t even asked Dr. Wells if he could go visit, unsure how the man might take it. When he’d left with Dr. Wells, left Iris behind, things had seemed truly hopeless. But now, holding his new baby foster sister, something had…changed. He felt hope again for the first time in a while.

I love platonic love at first sight, I must confess 💞 especially for these two. I also really love that aside from Iris, Morgan is the first one to make Barry smile since what happened with his mother. It also foreshadows that Morgan and Iris are his two most important relationships moving forward!

A similar moment occurs in Chp 2 of time was(n’t) in our favor:

“Barry!” She screamed, and someone close to his heart—Jesse, he realized—was screaming too, and then Dad had him by the shoulders and urged, “Run, Barry, run!” and then gold lightning surrounded him, and then…

“Someone close to his heart” is literal and figurative here—baby Morgan (who isn’t yet called Morgan because Eowells hasn’t appeared yet) is close to Barry’s heart literally, and figuratively because she’s so dear to him 🥺

And earlier in that same chapter:

“Oh, Jess,” he murmured, slipping out of his bed and walking to her crib, straining a little to pick her up from it. “What happened? Did you have a nightmare?” Jesse just curled into his shirt, whimpering. Barry bounced her a little in his arms, cradling her closer and singing “Twinkle Twinkle”…he even tried reading a little. But when Jesse wouldn’t stop shaking, he figured maybe a change of scenery would help.

This was just adorable 🥺 I love writing them (this is Barry and baby Morgan ofc)

Also, ofc, all the soulmarks in met you at the right time (this is what it feels like) are symbolic, but that’s a given. The symbolism isn’t too hard to figure out 😅 but for now, I’ll hold off on explaining.

All of main gehra tamas tu sunehra savera (main tera) was so wonderful to write—combining my two favorite pairings was so fun—but what was especially gratifying was making Zuko the “magic” one with his rainbow fire, like Aisha in Ms. Marvel is, but also giving the discovery of the cottage to Mai, even though that was also Aisha’s role. It’s not a perfect 1:1 recreation, and tbh I think that’s what makes it work. In any fusion fic, being flexible and bending the rules is the name of the game, and I had fun with it.

And I adore this part:

“She looks at you as though you’re magic.” Mai smiled. “I can’t say that I blame her.” Zuko chuckled, eyes fixed on baby Izumi as he wove another ribbon of rainbow fire above her head—she squealed with delight. “I’m not the one who can summon shurikens and make them bend to my will.” “They’re not summoned.” Mai rolled her eyes playfully. “I told you. I keep them hidden up my sleeve, and when the time is right—” “You release them just so. Yes, I remember.” Zuko smiled, turning to her. “I still say it’s magic, Firelily.”

So adorable 🥰

I could go on, but I’m gonna cap it here for now, because these are the ones that really stick out to me. Though I’m sure there are plenty more that aren’t occurring to me 😅

Also, to your bonus question: I feel like I include more symbolism than my readers pick up on 😅 I do make in-jokes and references that aren’t always caught, and if I don’t explain my symbolism…sometimes a keen-eyed reader will catch it, sometimes they won’t. I’m trying not to over-explain in endnotes as much as I used to, but sometimes I can’t help it—I gotta share! It’s why I love the director’s commentary ask game so much 💞

Im Rahmen des Kinostarts von Lisa Truttmanns Film Tarpaulins im Metro Kinokulturhaus zeigt die Golden Pixel Cooperative das Programm Weißes Licht. Die Kurzfilmprogramme laufen als Vorfilme von TARPAULINS und werden von einem Mitglied der Kooperative persönlich vorgestellt.

Weißes Licht besteht aus allen Farben. In Form einer Carte Blanche präsentiert die Golden Pixel Cooperative das Spektrum ihrer Arbeitsweisen. Diese Initiative erfolgt auf Einladung des Filmgarten, mit Unterstützung von Filmgarten und Metro Kinokulturhaus.

Reichenbach Falls Recap 2020

Hello! Since it is December 31st of this tomfuckery of a year, I decided to make a post about something that brightened my days since the 25th of May, my fic Reichenbach Falls that keeps me company every day which I love very much. Never ever would I have thought I’d come up with a 300-chapter a.k.a. 3 works in 1 fanfic. And yet here we are! 

I wanted to reflect on how the initial writing process went, then the posting, and how it evolved until today. 

So, Reichenbach Falls. It is a Gravity Falls Sherlock AU, but as I plotted more and more, it evolved into the monstrosity of SuperWhoLock. 2012 called that they want their Holy Trinity back, but guess what? I may be late to the party but I still groove! It will mostly be SuperLock once it really gets off in further episodes later on, but the SuperWhoLock episodes? Y’all won’t see the crazy stuff coming.

Now: the origins. As I mentioned above, the 25th of May 2020 is when I speed-wrote episode 1 of RF. The original document was 13k words long and mere 3 chapters, and I have a policy of writing on and on until it is needed to start reviewing. Upon said reviewing in the last week of August. It was a lot of work; since then I had decided to have each episode be split into 5 chapters, so I had to add 2 and review the new stuff. Today, episode 1 - Pixie Cut is the longest I have so far with 30k words. However, that may be soon overcome by episode 8 or 9 or even 10 - I noticed that episodes down the line are quite elaborate as I write them, which I suppose is good? I mean, it gives us more lore and interactions!

After writing all summer on speeds similar to those of Mr Krabs on methamphetamine (and my friends Bee @jasombee​ and Dee @ipromiseimnotaspy​ can attest to that), I suddenly found myself facing September 1st. The day I published Introduction to the characters and chapter 1 of ep. 1. And guys, the reception and feedback I got at the beginning? Still mindblowing to this day! 

And I am incredibly grateful for everyone who clicked, gave kudo, commented, or subscribed to the fic, because I honestly didn’t think that a Sherlock AU that is taking on its own life and consuming mine would get much attention. But it did! And it’s all the more exciting to be able to share the story of John, Irene, Sherlock, Greg, and Mrs Hudson with anyone who joins the ride!

But the special thanks belong to Bee and Dee whom I mnetioned above as well. Bee took her time to bless Reichenbach Falls with fanart of the Colour Wheel, and Mary, John, Irene, and Sherlock. And there will be more for some other important peeps, too, eventually! And her art is gorgeous, so she definitely also deserves some serious love. Dee took her time to read the episodes I put in front of her and gave me first-feel feedback as a reader, which I value so much! She also prohibited me from spoiling her the plot twists, so she’s a bit of my lab rat to see her reactions, while Bee is my sounding board and helped me flesh out the overarching plot across the full 3 works and she also graciously helps me smooth out details regarding the crossover bits. Oh, and Dee also made moodboards for Sherlock and Irene! Thank you girls, I don’t know what I’d do without you.

We also got a SuperLock episode, which actually took a lot longer than I liked to write in July. It was the first passing introduction of the Winchester brothers, and I have to say that I’m satisfied with it. The original episode was 22k words long, the present posted one stands at 25.888 words. The Winchester brothers will be vital to the plot and very relevant as the story progresses, so it’s definitely not the last time we saw them in ep2 Gloria Scott! And I mean it, did I mention there’s a lot of lore? :)

This fic has its own memes in my gallery, because me and my friends couldn’t help it, and somehow, a twisted impostor spirit of Niclas Cage and ghoul Freddie Mercury ended up as parts of the plot in their respective episodes. What can I say, this fic is full of surprises even for me as I write :D and there’s a lot more to come as we unravel the many mysteries of Reichenbach Falls and its origins!

Honestly, it’s such a blast to write this. I never thought I’d set out to write a project this big. I have a shcedule I try to keep to, posting on every fifth day of the month. Season 1, Deja Vu, is roughly plotted out, but I’ve discussed this on my secondary blog where I had a nice chat with Iris. Season 2, name of which I won’t disclose yet because that is 1 year in the future in terms of being posted, is also plotted out roughly, but I give myself enough free leeway so as not to feel restricted or suffocated by my own expectations. Which works out, because I always improvise on the whim as I write, and it’s all the more fun!

And the people who reached out, even those who didn’t or lurk, I love you. You’ve made this experience of posting fanfiction all the more exciting and I can’t wait to show you all there is. Thank you <3

Wow. The amount of people thinking Barry is crazy here is unreal. Like, everybody. Joe prob even tries to talk sense into him at some point. Because an innocent-looking man in a wheelchair has neeeever been the Big Bad before. 🙄 Maybe Barry WOULDN'T be spiraling if people took his words at face value the first time he said it. I just... This promo does not make me feel any better about next week's ep than the first one did. If anything, it makes me feel worse. Just switch some scenes around out of context & this promo could easily be an AU Flash of if the show had started at this point & he's trying to get his friends & family to believe what happened w/ RF/Nora/Henry, but this time NO ONE believes him. Not even Iris. She thinks he's crazy too. 😭😭😭😭 It doesn't even matter that I'm prob wrong. I've watched the promo so many times and that's what it looks like to me. I'm glad Iris isn't the one that slaps him, but like... I'm so done.

Anything with a coldflash soulmate au? Sorry for not being more specific, I'm afraid if I go more specific I'll get angsty

I seem to be mostly Noping out of angst. Let’s change that.

Let’s say RF killing Nora Allen was a Flashpoint (cause it was) and it caused Barry and Len’s soulmarks to become Widow marks (like Caitlin and Ronnie in AATJS).

Barry is an absolute devastated mess. He lost his mom, essentially lost his dad, and lost his soulmate all on the same night. Barry probably clings all the tighter to Iris and all the more determined not to tell her how he feels cause he’s absolutely terrified he’ll lose her too if he does.

Len is similarly shaken. He was never really sure how to feel about having a soulmate, especially one so much younger than him but- they were a kid. They were only a kid and now his soulmate is dead. Leonard Snart probably grew colder after that.

Oh and Wellsobard, he taunts Barry with knowing Flash’s soulmate was alive in the timeline before. No widow mark for in that timeline and it’s just another carrot to dangle in front of Barry.

But future Barry still stops him from interfering that night.

When Barry and Len finally work out their soulmates Barry probably clings and refuses to let go for anything. And Len probably clings back just as hard once he gets his emotions in order because he never expected this, never even hoped for it, and he never realized how much he wanted his soulmate until he got a second chance with them.

Also, do you see him fighting the time traveler behind the Allen Family home while Bar and Iris help their kids out with something (without any of them noticing the hero/villain fight)?

i think wally west has the potential to do anything, so long as the show writers actually let him. this entire season has proven that wally is a fast learner and has the potential to be as fast, if not faster than barry. also, he’s younger and that can only be a good thing

i think he’d be great against RF. also RF isn’t as intimately aware of wally’s weaknesses as barry is, so i think wally could use that to his advantage

i don’t know if i see him fighting behind the allen family home without barry noticing (and after noticing, going to help). barry isn’t that oblivious and more importantly, barry has this need to help anyone who is need. and since wally would be fighting RF, it’s also very personal for him, so i’m sure he’d notice and join

wally would absolutely do well against the RF and i feel like wally would try to not catch barry and iris’s attention but we all know something’s gonna happen eventually lol
