"Marry a girl of equal class and higher" man knew he could spite his parents by marrying a very sketchy Russian with a concerning amount of guns in his truck.

Price knows nothing about his family’s life, how they had gotten on over the years. A part of him hopes they’re all alive, and that one of them had been keeping an eye on his social media. Just so they could see how much he has thrived.
He’s made posts over every tattoo, every serious partner. Many posts about him ‘stealing’ his married best friend from her wife to go to soccer games. And many posts about his handsome coworker. Those posts were vague because Price wasn’t mentally prepared for Laswell or Nik learning who he as talking about.
Then things started going well with Nik. More posts with him in them. And, eventually, a vague post mentioning a court signing — Price married someone with no ceremony. And by the previous posts, it was clear who he married.
He wanted them to see how happy he was, how much happier he was compared to when he was still under their control. But. Price didn’t care enough to reach out, to do any investigation of his own. It would be too easy to look in and see what was happening with his family, way too easy. But he never cared enough to.
He just hoped that one of them was stalking his posts, that one of them saw how damn happy he was in his life. Even if his most recent post was him complaining about Ghost stealing his car and wrecking it — He was happy.

What would happen if Price got contacted to say his mother or father had died? Would he care? Would he go to the funeral? Would he simply pretend he never saw the letter?
Even worse if someone else found the letter first.

more richborn Price? hell yea
___
Price getting mysterious letter in a PO box he had long forgotten about. It had a hand written name on it, it was familiar, an upon opening it he spotted a name t the bottom, signed off elegantly. One that made his heart almost stop.
Amelia Victoria.
She left out the surname, certainly knowing he would throw it the letter out upon sight of it alongside a name that wasn't his own. He would've crumpled it up by now, but he didn't. All previous attempts at contacting him was from his parents, his siblings had never reached out. Never.
His brother simply didn't care to, he had everything to gain from Price not being present. Of course it had to be Amelia, she was the only person Price would ever considering listening to. It had to be her.
Price stuffed the letter back into the envelope, not bothering to read anything beyond his sister's name. He didn't have the energy for those people, his sister included. It was his own fault, leaving himself open to their attempts at communication, cruel enough to never answer and cowardly enough to never have it in him to respond.
He could disappear, they never would be able to find them. But he never did it.
He threw the letter in the trash as he walked out of his office. If the janitor didn't have the trash dumped by morning then he'd consider reading it.
Of course it wasn't left in the trash.
Price was nursing a morning cup of tea, still waking up when Ghost walked into the lounge. He had a look in his eyes, guilty but also a bit miffed. He looked at Price before he walked over and sat across from him. No words were spoken as he took out the letter and dropped it on the table.
Price felt his eye twitch at the sight. This wouldn't be the first time Ghost had poked around in his trash, Price knew he should've shredded it upon discovering who sent it. It was his own fault for being weak, for being open to reading it.
"Your mum's dead."
Price felt his heart drop, almost dropping his mug. He shakingly put down his tea, breathing as he looked away. Ghost's eyes widened and he looked even more guilty.
"You didn't know."
Ghost spoke upon the assumption he had read it. Of course, he wouldn't have said anything otherwise.
"She's-"
"I'm sorry."
Price took the letter, trying to not rip and tear as he opened it. He skimmed over the words until he found the passage mentioning his mother's death. He was supposed to feel something more than a numbed dread. He was a child who learned his mother was gone, why wasn't he feeling more than this? The shake in his hands wasn't enough, there should be more emotion.
Price honestly didn’t feel much as he read his sister's letter, describing their mother's last moments and the funeral they would have. She wrote as if she already knew he would never attend, and there wasn't any blame. Just sorrow and understanding. Sorrow, it didn't feel enough.
His dear mother, might as well have not been there at all. He vividly remembered her faraway stare, like her spirit wasn't even present. She used to be much more alive when he was much younger, while she was pregnant with his brother. She argued with his father with determination, no fear. Then... it just went away. She never showed much emotion after she became pregnant with his sister. Their father had full reign of the household, of their children.
He wondered if she died that way, numb and absent minded, allowing their father to have his way until the bitter end.
"John?"
Ghost didn't like his silence, probably didn't like the lack of a more earnest reaction. Price never told him about his family or upbringing. Never told him he joined the military to get away from them. Any judgement he was receiving was deserved. Ghost clung to his family when he had them, he loved them fiercely.
"I probably should tell you a few things about me... and keep all of this between us, yea?"
Ghost nodded while watching him carefully. Price really didn't want the others to learn about this, learn everything about him he frankly didn't want them to know.

Price’s family, what we thinking?
Cause I like to think his dad and him basically look the same, except maybe his dad is a bit taller with more grey hair, but other than that, physically they’re the same person.
Personality? Price got all that sass and hatred for authority from his mum, that woman runs the house and no one would ever attempt to dispute that fact.
In terms of siblings I feel like he’s either an only child or like one of five brothers. No in between.
Unrelated but I really like your content! Keep up the amazing work!!

___
Price’s issues with authority stems from how overly controlling his parents were.
First born son of a high class family. He had to be perfect, be the smartest in his class and get the best grades, get into the most prestigious universities available and marry a girl of equal class or higher. He had taken several music courses, and he wasn’t even given the choice of which ones. They had his whole life planned out for him the moment they realized they were having a son. His younger brother and sister were held at a similar level, but there was much more leniency with them. They weren’t to inherit everything, Price was.
He hated every bit of that life. He felt as if he had no control, no self autonomy. John Price was whatever his parents wanted, and it was an empty, lifeless existence. He wanted freedom, so he did the only thing he could think of, reached out to what seemed his only escape. He chose to serve in the Royal Marines. John Price found freedom in that, no matter the hell he’s been through he’ll never regret that choice.
He knew what he was doing, diving into a world of order and blood and death. But there was freedom in that, more freedom than he had ever had in his own childhood home. And when he joined the SAS? He tasted freedom like none other. It was intoxicating, empowering. He found purpose, something of his own making. He made friends, people of his choosing.
Choosing to run from home and join the Royal Marines costed Price his relationship with his parents. They gave him a chance to come home, this of course never happened. They threatened to take away his inheritance, cut him out of their will. But he refused. He chose freedom over a cushy life already planned for him. Some of his teammates were stunned that a rich boy like him ran from what they considered a perfect life.
Price hasn’t heard from anyone in his family in years, he knows next to nothing about how his siblings have gone on to live their lives or what had become of his parents. It was the cost of leaving, losing his family. But he made a new one for himself. And he’s quite happy with them, regardless of the circumstances of how they came into his life.

Do you think one of the boys keeps tabs on Price’s family for him? Or try and find out who they are out of curiosity.
Nikolai and Ghost I can see keeping tabs to make sure they stay out of Price’s life, knowing how suffocated Price was with them, these two would want to make sure he doesn’t suffer that every again.

___
Nik didn’t wait to go find out about Price’s family. The moment he learned that Price hadn’t been in contact with them for several years, he pulled some strings to find them.
Price has no desire to contact them or learn about how they have been. He’s only ever shown some interest in his sister who he mused the idea of being neglected by their parents. She was the only one he ever thought about, he couldn’t care less about his parents and he had no interest in what may have become of his brother.
So Nik investigated in silence, kept all his findings to himself. He was determined to keep his family out of his life, wanting Price to continue to live in peace without being burdened by them. He learned to despise his parents, through stories told to him by Price and through his investigation. Nik had no desire to ever meet them, and he would prefer that they never met by accident.
Whether or not Ghost looked into them, Nik never knew. He knew that Ghost knew about them, and that he never bothered to ask anything about them. Price clearly appreciated that. Soap and Gaz, as far as Nik knew, had no clue about Price’s family or his relationship with them. Price never mentioned them and they had never asked.
Nik took that as them respecting Price’s privacy, even with how close they had grown with him. They either didn’t care, or they were waiting to see if he would ever talk about it with them. Nik was content on waiting on what happens.

About the recent post about Price being a good swordsman. Maybe it's because he learnt fencing as a child? (Since he grew up in a rich household) so maybe that's why he doesn't want to talk about it? Because he had all these 'hobbies' which were pressured on him as a child such as fencing and other 'posh' activities that his parents made him do.
Price being very talented in several unknown hobbies. He is a very skilled swordsman, he has excellent horsemanship and even as an adult he's still had joy in being around horses. His father let him play football for many years until he deemed it inappropriate. Football faded out and music faded in.
Violin, piano, cello, anything his mother was interested in at that moment. Music was the one thing she had control over, it made Price seem classical and since he was naturally gifted unlike his siblings, his parents decided to invest the majority of his time into it. His mother pushed him for recitals, having high expectations for him. Too high in his opinion.
Music became a part of him by the time he finally joined the military to get away. He never was able to find a way to get back into football beyond watching games, so Price settled for that. Let everyone know him as a sports lover, maybe experience his talent in music. But that was the most he was willing to share.

Do you think one of prices siblings would follow in his footsteps and leave home? Maybe his sister since you mentioned that he thinks she may be neglected? Perhaps she reaches out to him for help?
previous next
___
Price would hope that his siblings would wake up and see how controlling their parents were. Well, their father was the worst one out of the two, throwing the weight of responsibility and expectations upon his sons when they were mere children... all the while showing no attention to his daughter. Price always thought, or rather hoped, she would get away.
He had no hope for their brother. He had inherited everything that was meant for Price, why would he leave? He always strived for their parents' approval, was always jealous. Their sister was quiet with dull eyes. Price hoped she would leave, find her own freedom like he had. He wasn't sure if she would reach out if that ever happened, who she would turn to or what steps she would take.
The life they lived is all they had ever known, everything was done for them and every need or want was met. Price wasn't sure what she would do considering everything would be taken away. But he hoped she would try... he hoped she would reach out.

How do you imagine the prices siblings to look like ? And would I be allowed to draw them?

___
Price is definitely the tallest all of them, broader shouldered. He takes after their grandfather (their mother’s father), who was a soldier. His brother looks a lot like their father, lighter hair than Price’s and clean shaven (not that he’s capable of growing a beard if he wanted to), a bit heftier but no muscle mass like Price. Their sister is softer, too, hair a couple shades darker than Price. Price and his brother do sound a lot alike though his brother’s voice isn’t as rough. Other than those differences, you can’t look at them and not see that they’re related.
