General messages from spirit:
Pile 1 Pile 2
Pile 3 Pile 4
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pile 1: 🧡🧡🧡
You guys are hard workers at heart. You've probably been the caretakers, the people pleasers, the adults even as a child in your family. People look to you for advice and are upset when you don't have the answers. You're either learning or have learned that this isn't the most healthy way to go on. You have to set boundaries and work on taking care of you, you can't pour out of an empty cup. So do some self care today, whether it's taking a walk, saying no, respecting your boundaries, dancing, sleeping, or simply doing nothing. Take some time for yourself to acknowledge what you've done and how far you've gotten. Then take some time to realize how powerful you are and that your possibilities are endless. You got it already so don't worry about it, just be.
Channeled songs:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pile 2: 💛💛💛
You guys are busy bees, huh? Always on the go go go. But is it fun for you? Do you enjoy what you're doing all the time for you or others. Is it improving your daily life or your health? If not, stop doing it or atleast slow it down. Life isn't going anywhere no matter how old you are, you still have time. Be present for today. (You could've resonated with Pile 1 so go back if you feel the need) Seriously though, when was the last time you had some fun. Some real fun, the type of fun that is careless and childlike. The type of fun you had on the playground in elementary school. Whatever brings you joy in that way do it, and do it in the most carefree way as possible. You deserve love, you deserve happiness, you deserve to have your actions, talents, and feelings reciprocated tenfold. Whether you get it from someone else or yourself. Take yourself on a date today and find out what makes you, you. You'll never know if you don't try? What's the worst that could happen? You fail, someone says no? Oh no whatever will you do, it's not like you've gotten up and done this battle before. You're stronger than you think, act like it bitch (affectionately)!
Channeled song:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pile 3: ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹
Are you okay? Do you need a hug? Come here bitch lemme give you a virtual one. Seriously tho, get one asap. If no one is around hug yourself or a plush, or a pet. You need to comfort yourself today, getting cancer energy, motherly or caretaker vibes. "I can be needy"-Ariana Grande. Take a long hot bath with some music or candles in the background. Cook something you only make for special occasions. You may feel like the world is chaos/ending or the tower is crumbling but it's not as bad as it seems. Death is just a rebirth and right now you are going through it. I'm hearing "pluto transform me"-Melanie Martinez. Y'all are in your transformation era. Big Hermit vibes. Take it slow and take your time. You'll soon rise from the ashes like a Phoenix babe. You got this!
Channeled songs:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pile 4: 💙💙💙
You guys are in your bag this season. It's been messy for some people around you, but not you bitch. Y'all are thriving in your energy and you know it. Main character energy. I'm getting Cancer, major Virgo & Leo vibes aswell. I'm hearing that yall don't even need this reading, it's just a confirmation that you're on the right path and you're doing you. Okayyyy go ahead besties be you and be proud and loud about it. Go off loves and do it unapologetically. I'm done here, yall don't need me to hype you up cause you already know you're that bitch. Beware of jealousy, envy, and other negative energies from others around you though. There are people who see you thriving and hate it, misery loves company so you best avoid those energy vampires. Cleansing and protections will help you stay in this energy. I don't even need to tell you to be grateful and honor yourself cause you're already doing it. Okayy, I see you sis!

Moon and Appearance, Pt. 4 featuring the diurnal luminary ruling the first house —> Leo Risings (Libra-Pisces Moon)
⏰ picture descriptions in order clockwise starting @ top left
I tried using charts with confirmed source birth times but there are a few with no confirmed source or conflicting sources.
Tumblr media
Leo Rising/Libra Moon: Emma Stone, Julianne Nicholson, Betty Grable, Maya Angelou
🌙 “upward turned” shaped eyes
👄 All seem to have a fairly prominent “V” mid-upper lip right?
👑 They all have their moon in the third place with this placement, where it has its joy. Literal goddesses.
👃🏻Cardinal moon noses are a vibe (why am I obsessed with noses) plus they have the blessing of air influence so the ✨cute button nose syndrome ✨
🌺Their eyebrows are very nice and balanced as well, like the scales ♎️ not too thin and not too thick —> perfecto
🌚 All the smiles feel very authentic, like they know how blessed they are; they seem very gracious
Tumblr media
Leo Rising/Scorpio Moon: Alanis Morissette, Kate Moss, Julie Christie, Selma Blair
👁️”Downward-turned” shaped eyes
🫦Fuller lower lip
🌗Simply having these two placements means you have AC square Moon and thus might bring forward Scorpio energy moreso
🍋 “Not to be fcked with” energy
🦂Okay hear me out; the noses remind me of the end of a Scorpio tail then have the structure similar to a three-leaf clover ☘️ (copied from my part 2 with cancer rising/Scorpio moon)
👃🏻Scorpio moon noses seem to have a noticeable tip at the end like a Scorpio tail, whereas the cardinal moons just have this regal presence with strong integrity and foundation ♑️ similar to the cap symbol. Reminds me of the strong foundation in a house, idk. 🏠
Tumblr media
📁I find it interesting that none of them are smiling with their teeth. Scorpio is so controlled and understated; the least likely to ever appear overeager I feel.
Tumblr media
Leo Rising/Sagittarius Moon: Laura Nyro, Françoise d'Eaubonne, Valerie Harper, Melissa Joan Heart
🖤 I think this is a fairly obscure placement for celebrities. Melissa Joan Heart was the only one I had heard of.
🌸Shout out to Clarissa Explains It All though. That show was my jam growing up.
🍋 Almond eyes (but I was singing it in Meg Myers’ Lemon Eyes🎤)
🌈I feel like mutable moons have features that truly vary based on other placements due to its nature; very unique
🌼I get really girl next door pretty vibes from these folks
🔆Their faces truly light up when they smile
👙I like how they all look at the camera in a similar manner; they seem to be very authentic and enjoy helping everyone feel seen.
Tumblr media
Leo Rising/Capricorn Moon: Miranda Lambert, Ashley Tisdale, Ayla Brown, Connie Britton
🔥HOT
🛝I got super excited to see Connie Britton pull up on this; I love her!! (AHS S1🎃) and no surprise she’s an Aries Venus
🥊Really intimidating tbh. I think the Sun and Saturn are both pretty intimidating due to them both being associated with the father and that sort of domineering paternal presence. Because of this, I feel like men might be really intimated by these women. Absolutely no tolerance for weak, cowardly men. ✋🏻
🦷Gregarious and bright smiles; so much life behind them
👃🏻 I told you Cap Moon noses are a vibe. I am watching Sopranos and I was like bet James Gandolfini has a cardinal moon (he does). They truly resemble the Cap ♑️ symbol
🐣They all have sort of petite faces, no?
👄 Even top and bottom lips
Tumblr media
Leo Rising/Aquarius Moon: Glenn Close, Ashley Judd, Jessica Alba, Jessica Lange
2️⃣Both Jessica’s have Taurus stelliums, including domicile Venus near the MC/tenth
🐏Ashley has an Aries stellium, Glenn has a Pisces stellium
🎃 And would ya look at that, another AHS core cast member. I love Jessica Lange and am lowkey enamored by the woman’s beauty. (How does she just continue to get better looking?! ♉️ stellium)
🥡I was expecting to see more solid features here due to the fixed nature of both Leo and Aqua, and I was right.
🪩Rounded square face shape
🔪Intimidating in an intelligent way, like they can slay you with their words
🥊Same here with men because Saturn rules Aqua too. I feel like men want these women to sit still, look pretty and are fiercely disappointed by their strong will and autonomy
Tumblr media
Leo Rising/Pisces Moon: Lisa Marie Presley, Jennifer Jones, Stephanie Wilson, Ava Gardner
🌃Intimidating in a soft, ethereal way
🍭Why do I always get lost daydreaming when I look at Pisces moons?
🍍Their eyebrows all have a similar sharp “V” at the top; thinner but perfectly framing their pretty eyes
🧙🏻Mysterious vibe
👄 Lips are prominent; puffy? Lol
👀It’s the eyes that catch you though

Heads up you should prob check the spreadsheet to remove duplicate submissions if you haven't done so already! From a quick scan, two albums by the crane wives have been submitted twice and basically every MCR album has more than one submission
Not to worry, we've got everything handled in a separate spreadsheet, but we leave the public spreadsheet unaltered. If someone does submit a duplicate submission before it ends up in the queue, we do actually combine the submissions.
But yeah as of now, here are the duplicates that we're aware of: (readmore because there's 50 of them)

Tonight I continued my November 12 hour #DirectedbyWomen #FilmFeast by streaming Jagged (2021) directed by Alison Klayman on HBOMax. I appreciate Klayman's approach to documentary filmmaking. Finally getting a moment to watch this one. And looking forward to her latest film White Hot: The Rise & Fall of Abercrombie & Fitch, which is streaming on Netflix. And I think I still have a few other of her earlier films to see. So hard to keep up on viewing all the films by women directors that I'd love to see.
I've never been a fan of Alanis Morissette. I mean I just never followed her career, but it's interesting to learn about her life and work through this film.

Kinktober 2022 Prompt List
Tumblr media
Hey lovelies! I’m going to participate in Kinktober this year for the first time (which is both exciting and a little nerve wracking 😅) I made a prompt list and thought I would share it for anyone who wants to use it!
Personally, my kinktober will be fics focused on The X Files & The Fall (Mulder/Scully, Scully/Reyes & Stella/Scully) but please feel free to use the prompt list for whatever fandom you wish and whatever medium you want.
I tried to keep all the prompts ambiguous for different genders and sexuality pairings as well as a few extra than the 31 days just in case there’s a prompt you aren’t so comfortable exploring, so hopefully it works for you 💕
See you all with some kinky stories in October 😈

Get to know you better
I got tagged by @freckleslikestars thank you so much! 💕
Rules: tag 9 people you want to get to know better
Favourite time of year: I would have to say autumn as it’s a nice break from the usual hot summer here but not cold enough yet for lots of blankets. And it doesn’t have the pollen of spring to worry about 😂
Comfort food: It would have to be Tonkostu ramen with extra pork belly. But it has to from a proper ramen booth/restaurant as it’s always the best from there.
Do you collect something?: I used to collect Lion King stuff but now it’s just books. I collect (hoard) books.
Favourite drink: A large green peach iced tea with lychee jelly from a bubble tea/boba shop. And my favourite alcoholic drink (though I rarely drink) is a Fruit Tingle.
Favourite Song: I Need My Girl by The National
Current Favourite Song: You Oughta Know by Alanis Morissette
Favourite Fic: Oh, this is just too hard!! 😭 Ummm I just have way too many. I would have to say;
My current fave fic and one that I’m obsessed with right now is — Partnership: The Fall & Rise of Dana & Stella by ee_ombra_ombra
But some all time faves are;
When The Ink Dries by somekindofseizure (this one will always stay with me)
Laws of Motion by suilven
Stella’s Rules by DanaScully77
Novel Explorations by useless_bian
Those are for my Stella/Scully shipper heart.
When it comes to Mulder/Scully my favourite fics are pretty much everything written by wtfmulder and Phillip_Padgett as well as;
Scully’s Submissive Awakening by DanaScully77
Waldron Island by SisterSpooky1013
Tagging: @scullysexual @anders-hawke @ellivia @barbarashershey @danakathrine @pawsteps @enigmaticxbee @agent-troi

animorphs book 10 (the android) #thoughts
my library has the most random selection of audiobooks available for animorphs (i've spammed them with requests to buy the ones they're missing but i think they're ignoring my calls :\) so i've been cobbling together fan audiobooks/read-alongs and these AI generated ones that sound like the tiktok lady. it is making for patchwork quilt of an experience, let me tell you
that being said no amateurish recording setup can undercut my excitement that WE'RE IN THE ROBIT ZONE. i remember really liking the erek stuff as a kid. i hope i still will.
fascinated by the reveal that marco is apparently an alanis morissette fan
i peeked at the storygraph reviews for this one just to get a feel for the overall audience reaction and literally the first one says "Having Marco as a narrator is always fun. He's as cute and funny as a bisexual-coded juvenile badly coping with PTSD can be," with that bolded emphasis and everything. shout out to mugsandpugs for truly understanding his character and validating my long-held headcanon
maybe i should put in bold that i too am bisexual-coded in my tumblr description
oh wait lol it's bold because it's a LINK to an animorphs fan forum page! it's broken but presumably it's a debate as long as the one about how many days in a week there are on the bodybuilding forums.
anyway.
"a topic will emerge. i'm going to just write until i discover a topic. the topic will rise from these pages. it will reveal itself to me. i just have to keep writing." REAL
when one of the animorphs gets literally eaten alive by a bird and has to split-second morph and chestburst out of it to avoid death and you check and the book's not even halfway over.
i guess some people don't like the chee but I always did as a kid. they're pacifist robo dogs! what's not to love!
well the ending of this one was just as disturbing as I remembered. you fucked up a perfectly good robo dog as what you did. look at it. it's got anxiety

As December gets closer, it’s almost time to start my Album Project up again. Yay!
As a reminder, this is where I spend a month (give or take) listening to a bunch of albums a day, when I have free time. Albums that I’ve either never sat with all the way through, or haven’t heard at all. And, once I’ve listened, I post a little mini review, plus a few favorite tracks, on Twitter. Though the way things are now, maybe I could start cross-posting on BlueSky, huh? Eh, we’ll see.
I’ve heard some really great stuff that I’ve missed over the years!
This will be Phase 3 of the project, and I’m listening to 100 albums per Phase. Which seems like a lot, but it goes pretty quick, let me tell you. I’m at about 82 albums in Phase 3’s queue, so I have the rest of November to fill out the rest, but I’m sure I can do it. Probably gonna take another long break in January and February, but then… Phase 4 in March. Maybe April.
I’m not outright soliciting album suggestions from anyone and everyone quite yet, but I wouldn’t mind if there was something you wanted to recommend, lol.
Curious about what I’ve listened to so far? Check out the list!

Empowerment Anthems: Music's Ode to Feminism by Gary Dranow
Tumblr media
Music has long been a tool for social change, and the quest for women's rights has been no exception. From sultry soul tunes to powerful pop anthems, artists have used their platforms to champion the cause of gender equality. Let's dive deep into the tracks that have been touchstones for empowerment, independence, and the unyielding spirit of womankind.
1. The Queen of Soul’s Clarion Call
Aretha Franklin: "Respect" is not just a song; it’s an anthem. Beyond its catchy tune, it's a demand for dignity and respect. Franklin transformed Otis Redding's track into a powerful feminist and civil rights anthem that still resonates today.
2. The Pop World’s Powerhouses
Pop music, with its wide-reaching audience, has often been the best stage for messages of female empowerment.
Destiny's Child: With "Independent Women," this iconic trio celebrated financial and emotional independence, urging women everywhere to be proud of their autonomy.
Beyoncé: Bey has been no stranger to feminist anthems. "Formation" is not just a celebration of Black culture, but also a testament to strong women. Her line, "I dream it, I work hard, I grind 'til I own it," embodies female ambition and tenacity.
3. From Country Roads to Feminist Anthems
Country music, too, has had its fair share of songs that have tackled women's rights head-on.
Dolly Parton: "9 to 5" is more than just a catchy tune; it's a cry against the systemic oppression of working women, capturing the daily grind and struggles faced by many.
4. Rocking for Rights
Rock, a genre dominated by male voices, has seen some powerful female artists rise and make their mark with feminist messages.
Alanis Morissette: With raw emotion and unbridled passion, Morissette's "You Oughta Know" tapped into the anger and strength of women who refused to be sidelined.
5. Hip Hop and the Feminist Beat
Even in genres like hip-hop, known for its often controversial portrayal of women, there have been standout tracks championing female rights.
Salt-N-Pepa: Their iconic "None of Your Business" is a bold statement on a woman's autonomy and the right to make personal choices without judgment.
Missy Elliott: Breaking boundaries and norms, Elliott's "She's a B***h" reclaimed derogatory terms and became an emblem of female strength in a male-dominated industry.
In Conclusion: Music as a Feminist Force
The beauty of music lies not just in its harmonies, but in its ability to reflect society and inspire change. As we celebrate these anthems, let's remember the real message behind them: the call for equality, respect, and the rightful place of women in every field and sphere.
Keep the volume up and the spirit higher,
Gary Dranow.

90s Culture: Woodstock 99 style and fashion
I was looking at what gen X would get up for fun and I came across Woodstock 99 so I did some research into it to find out what it was about.
Woodstock 1999 (also called Woodstock '99) was a music festival held from July 22 to July 25, 1999, in Rome, New York. The attendance was approximately 220,000 over four days.
The festival was marred by controversy and difficult environmental conditions, overpriced food and water, poor sanitation leading to sicknesses, sexual harassment and rapes, rioting, looting, vandalism, arson, violence and death. It has been described as, "notorious", "a flashpoint in cultural nadir", and like being "in another country during military conflict".
Many of the high profile acts such as DMX, Limp Bizkit, Korn, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alanis Morissette, Kid Rock, Metallica, and Creed were popular or rising artists of the era.
I then watched the Woodstock documentary on Netflix, which better helped me understand the festival. I found it very interesting, it showed the music side of the 90s as well as the festival fashion in the 90s and a lot of the footage was taken on digital cameras, so had a vintage 'bad quality' look to them. These are some of the photos of the fashion from Woodstock 99 amongst all the chaos of the festival.

Songs About Letting It Go
There's something magical about the moment you finally let go of something that's been weighing you down. It's like a weight has been lifted from your chest and suddenly the world seems a little brighter. It's a feeling of release, of freedom, of peace. And there's nothing quite like a good song about letting it go to capture that feeling and inspire us to do the same.
When you listen to songs about letting it go, you can feel the raw emotion pouring through the lyrics and the melody. These songs are visceral, powerful, and they hit you right in the gut. They remind you that it's okay to feel sad, angry, or hurt, but that holding onto those emotions only keeps you stuck in a cycle of pain.
Songs like "Let It Go" by James Bay or "Shake It Out" by Florence + The Machine have a way of making you feel like you're not alone in your struggles. The lyrics cut straight to the heart of the matter, urging you to release your grip on whatever it is that's been holding you back. They remind you that you have the strength to move on and that sometimes the best thing you can do is just let go.
The beauty of songs about letting it go is that they can apply to so many different situations. Whether you're going through a breakup, struggling with a difficult decision, or just feeling overwhelmed by life, these songs speak to the universal human experience of letting go. They remind us that we're all in this together and that we all have the capacity to heal and grow.
So the next time you're feeling stuck or weighed down by something, turn up the volume on a good song about letting it go. Let the lyrics wash over you and feel the emotion rise up inside you. And then take a deep breath, release your grip, and let it go. Because sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is to simply surrender to the flow of life and trust that everything will work out in the end. YOu have to love Arolyn music for there songs about this.
