I recently saw someone address the poster of a tumblr emporium post as "the capitalist," which struck me as a bit funny in context?

If you make your comments at whoever posted an emporium post, you are not addressing, like, Matt Mullenweg. He will not see your notes! People who own capital don't actually have to sieve through the things that happen day-to-day within the machines they own.

The person who posted that is someone who exchanges their labour as a marketer for money. They probably work for an agency, unless automattic uses in-house marketing (I'm not sure what their organisational architecture is and haven't looked tbh), and inevitably they will work stupid long hours making last minute tweaks and unbriefed changes for unreasonable clients just like the rest of the world. Of course digital marketers aren't likely to take anything you aim at them very seriously in their professional lives.

It's a little funny, isn't it? Maybe just me. IDK. Someone complains about the evil capitalist bitch who put a post advertising goods they don't need on their dash... Meanwhile a digital marketer chugs a fourth coffee and hopes the reblogs cause drama to inflate engagement for his KPIs. Please. Please inflate his KPIs. Performance reviews are coming up and he wants to be able to afford rent AND primary school for his kids this year.
