HAPPY BIRTHDAY Robert Peter Schneider (born March 9, 1971) is an American pop musician, music producer, and mathematician who received a PhD in mathematics from Emory University in 2018. He is the lead singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer of The Apples in Stereo and has produced albums by Neutral Milk Hotel, The Olivia Tremor Control and a number of other psychedelic and indie rock bands. Schneider co-founded The Elephant 6 Recording Company in 1991. Just wanted to take a moment and share there’s some new Seamonster music available on bandcamp now in case you missed it on bandcamp day last week! LINK IN THE BIO or just hit toddbot.com - There isn’t a shortage of amazing new music hitting the web this week - my good friends @fromoverseasband and @berries.music just dropped stuff today, @deerhoof has new stuff on the way and @clemsnidemusic just released a new record for the first time in a while. So take some time and treat your ears! “Tiny Apocalypse: a new song, a lost song, a rehearsal, a cover” is just that - a demo of a new song, a song from many years ago I’d thought lost to the ages, a full on 45 minute recording of a full band Seamonster practice from 2016 with old and unreleased tracks as well as our take on “Whip It” - and my cover of David Byrne’s “Tiny Apocalypse” to round out the whole thing. I wrote at length about each track on the album release page, I hope today finds you all well and safe and hopefully at home with loved ones - and I hope this music helps you enjoy the days ahead! I haven’t shared any new Seamonster tracks since 2013 but that changes TODAY! As many of you may have heard, Bandcamp is waiving it’s fees until midnight tonight and giving all earnings to the artists. The Apples In Stereo (and their E6 brethren) forever changed my relationship to music - they got me interested in making my own! Years later, I still can’t believe that Robert Schneider is now a friend and we’ve even been able to collaborate (check out his amazing Robbert Bobbert & The Bubble Machine project) - The Apples made some of the best pop records ever, and Tone Soul Evolution is one of them! ❤️ A few years ago I did a bunch of iPad drawings of whatever record I was listening to each morning and am finally adding some prints of them to the shop.
