Play wrestling with your gf Robin Buckley, but Steve walks in and practically shrieks because he thinks you two are doing something wildly different
In Steve's defense, you are biting Robin's thigh. But you're biting her thigh to overpower her, which- doesn't sound much better. But you're wrestling - really wrestling, not wrestling.
You've got her pinned to the wall, and you'd dropped to your knees to gnaw at the sensitive skin of her inner thigh. The pinch from your teeth is meant to make her knees give out, and once she's on the floor you'll grab her wrists and pin them to her back. Then you'll declare yourself the winner before she can escape. It's meant to be a foolproof plan, but- well, Steve Harrington has been called a fool before. Perhaps no plan is foolproof enough for him.
He's accustomed to walking into Robin's room like it's his own, but this time you're sure he wishes he'd knocked. He finds you kneeling between Robin's legs, face buried in her thigh a little too close to what's between them for Steve's comfort.
He screams. He screams, and slaps a hand over his eyes, and stumbles backwards all at once, which means he goes tumbling back down Robin's staircase. Her bedroom is right at the top of it, and the hallway is evidently not wide enough for Steve to stop in before he falls right back down the way that he came.
You both dart to the staircase and watch as he lands at the base with a sickening thud, and a groan that you've come to associate with visits to the emergency room.
"Steve?" Robin calls, feet pounding against the stairs as she races to his side. She prods at his temple, and when he grumbles something incoherent in response, she lifts his head off of the floor. She cradles it in her hands, checking for his pulse, "Steve, can you hear me?"
"Yes, dipshit, stop poking me," He swats her hand away when he regains the wind that was knocked out of him, and he sits up while glaring at you where you stand at the top of the staircase.
"That was fucking disgusting." He accuses. You're fairly certain you have the right to do whatever you want with your girlfriend in her own home, but you'd just caused Steve possible brain damage, so you don't point that out.
"We were play-fighting," Robin huffs, rubbing the back of her hand where Steve had smacked her, "You're the one who didn't knock."
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry, I've been your best friend for two years," Steve gripes, struggling to his feet and rubbing at the back of his head where you presume it hit a step, "I didn't know I had to alert the presses to my arrival. Listen- you two," He turns his glare back to you, "I'm- happy for you, okay? But don't- don't ever do that shit again. Close the door, put a sock on it, put up a sign, I don't care, just- never again."
Steve chooses to ignore your rather snippy 'Yes, sir,' in favor of exaggerating a wince as he prods at a sensitive spot near the base of his neck. "Un-fucking-believable," He scoffs, "Another concussion, and this one didn't even come from an interdimensional monster.

Edit : they've already deleted the fic. But without an apology to the things they've said about me I will not be taking this down just yet.
I would message you again, @leamunson, but you already blocked me - both my main account and this one. So, I will be posting this publicly so other people could tell you to take your fic "Hate That I Want You.." down, I also request you to take one of your smut blurbs down too. Both are clearly copies of my work - the blurb being similar to one I had made months ago, and "Hate that I want you" being a very evident knockoff of "Oh, Pretty Woman."
I don't want to come off as rude, but it's absolutely shitty how you went your way and stole my fic and my blurb. I pour my time and heart and thought into my works and I know every other writer does too - I'm sure you know that as well.
Maybe I inspired you, but that doesn't change the fact you've copy pasted my work, changed the names and pronouns, cut a few paragraphs, slapped photo edits, a title, summary and warnings, tags, then called it a day. Plagiarism is what you did - and plagiarism is theft. It completely takes away the hours I've spent writing and brainstorming for the perfect words, the perfect dialogue, the perfect title, and the perfect plot. You've disrespected me as a writer, and disrespected yourself in the process, if you're even a writer who creates their own ideas.
Take these down. I have enough proof to call it plagiarism.
Proofs
My fic
Their fic
My blurb
Their blurb
It doesn't take more than two reads to point out how similar they are. Word for word. Bar for bar. Take them down.

Hi could I get a Robin x reader where it’s Robin’s birthday and the reader surprises her with by wearing lingerie
Tumblr media
I combined these so hopefully that's alright 🫶🏻 I love me some Robin so I enjoyed writing this. Thank you for requesting and I hope you guys enjoy it 🩷
Birthday girl
Tumblr media
Robin wasn't a big fan of birthdays. She didn't have many friends growing up, and not many people to celebrate it with. Steve tried to make her enjoy it over the years of their friendship, but still nothing. To her, it was simply another day.
Y/N disagreed. She loved birthdays and loved making her friends feel special on their big day. Once she heard her girlfriend wasn't a fan of celebrating her birthday, she tried to respect it. Robin voiced that she didn't want a party, a dinner, or a big hangout. She didn't even want gifts or things she didn't need.
Of course, Y/N hated all the words coming out of Robin's mouth, but she respected her girlfriend's wishes.
~~~
The day of Robin's birthday wasn't different from any of the days before. Y/N kept it very low-key, a simple birthday breakfast and that was it. Robin and she went to school, and their friends wished Robin a happy birthday but that was all. Y/N did have something up her sleeve though. But she knew it was something Robin wouldn't be upset about.
After school, the girls went to Robin's. They got lucky enough that Robin's birthday landed on a Friday and her parents were out of town. It all worked perfectly for Y/N's small birthday surprise.
"I did lie, I have one more thing!" Y/N said excitedly as she yanked off her shoes and tossed her backpack mindlessly to the floor.
"Babyyyyy," Robin whined, her head thrown back dramatically.
"I know! But I think you'll like this one. Just stay right here and come to your bedroom when I say!"
Robin watched as her girlfriend raced to her bedroom. She was curious about what she was planning. Robin had a small fear she'd walk in and a mini party would be in her room with a bunch of their friends. She loved her friends....some days. But she wanted a quiet night with her girlfriend. To her, that was the best birthday.
Robin waited impatiently as she kept rushing Y/N through the door. Y/N giggled and kept focusing on her gift as poor Robin whined and stomped from outside.
"I swear If I walk in and see Steve wearing some stupid outfit," Robin growled
"Not quite Steve wearing the outfit," Y/N said teasingly as she opened the door.
Robin felt her words die in the back of her throat, along with her breathing. Her eyes were wide as she stared at her girlfriend dressed in black sexy lingerie. The croset pushed Y/N's breasts up and the sight made Robin clench. Her blue eyes trailed down her girlfriend's stomach, to her smooth thighs that had garters.
"So much better than Steve." Robin practically moaned as she erased the space between them, eagerly pressing her lips against Y/N's glossy ones. Y/N was taken back by the amount of control Robin had, she had Y/N's back against the bed before she could blink.
"Like this gift then?" Y/N teased, her hands helping Robin yanked off her clothes.
"I don't think I've ever been so wet in my life," Robin admitted she could feel her underwear soaking against her cunt. It was slightly uncomfortable but the thought turned her on more.
Y/N gasped as Robin's fingertips trailed up her thighs, the softness causing goosebumps to fill Y/N's skin. Robin's fingers trailed to where Y/N wanted them the most. But Robin was always a tease.
She was quick to remove her hands, a smirk on her face as Y/N whined underneath her.
"Patience, sweetheart. My birthday right? Let me play with my toy." Robin whispered against Y/N's lips. Y/N moaned and nodded. She'd let Robin do anything she wanted to her.
Robin stood up and finally freed herself from her underwear, the wetness coated her thighs and Y/N couldn't help but stare. She wanted to taste her so bad. But Y/N didn't ask for permission, she went for what she wanted. She scooted on her knees, grabbed Robin's leg, and placed it on the bed. Robin stood at the bottom of the bed with her right leg bent on the bed, her left keeping the balance as Y/N dove between Robin's thighs and licked up the wetness that smeared to the sides of Robin's cunt.
Robin moaned and held Y/N's hair as she cleaned up the mess she made of Robin. Robin couldn't help but stare down at her beautiful girlfriend all dressed up and licking her clean.
"That pussy has to be soaked too, huh?" Robin whined, Y/N nodded as she continued to suck on Robin's skin.
"Lay down," Robin demanded as she pushed Y/N's head gently away. Y/N listened and relaxed against Robin's soft bed. Excitement in her body as she waited for what Robin had planned.
Y/N immediately moaned as loud as Robin ever heard when Robin placed her wet cunt against Y/N's.
Robin reached out her right hand to hold Y/N's, her left holding onto Y/N's leg as leverage. Y/N beneath her, moaning and whining as Robin began to slide her cunt against Y/N's. Their wetness mixed and created the perfect rhythm. Their clits rubbed each other perfectly as Robin moaned. She moved faster and faster. Not caring that her left-hand grip was bruising her girlfriend's leg as she rode Y/N's cunt like there wasn't a tomorrow.
Y/N whined as Robin's breasts bounced with the fast movement. Robin's bangs stuck to her forehead, dripping with sweat. Her freckled cheeks stained red as she breathed hard.
Y/N was so needy for it. The second Robin slowed down, she whined and tried to move her hips. Robin couldn't help but laugh at the needy girl but gladly gave her what she wanted, over and over.
Maybe Robin loved her birthday after all.
𝐜𝐨𝐰𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥 𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐬 - 𝐑.𝐁.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: this doesn’t really need a summary but, for context, find my cowgirl robin fanfic here <3
𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: 18+ mature content! (MDNI), mention of alcohol, oral sex, vaginal fingering, strap-on sex, spit kink??, makeshift handcuffs, semi-public sex, let me know if i missed anything!
𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞: once again: save a horse, ride robin buckley. we are so back with some of my feral cowgirl robin thoughts. it’s been a hot minute but here we are! also: it’s @aylasology birthday!! happy birthday ayla, here are some cowgirl!robin thoughts fy! <3<3
Tumblr media
𖤓 cowgirl!robin whose voice you’re obsessed with: low, raspy and with a thick southern accent. the way she will whisper her filthiest fantasies to you while she’s knuckle deep inside you? the way you sometimes tune out during casual conversation, losing track of what she’s saying just because of the sound of her voice?
𖤓 cowgirl!robin who can’t stop staring at you whenever she helps you get on a horse, her strong hands supporting you by holding your waist.
𖤓 cowgirl!robin who praises you in that same raspy voice. “good girl”, “just like that”, “hmm, such a good job”
𖤓 cowgirl!robin who can’t keep her hands off of you and your body. whether it’s holding your hand, grabbing your hips or ass, or a rapping an arm around your shoulder.
𖤓 cowgirl!robin who leaves visible marks on your body so everyone knows you’re hers.
𖤓 cowgirl!robin who hugs you from behind and kisses your neck before shoving a hand down your pants.
𖤓 cowgirl!robin who takes you to one of the local bars in the warm summer evenings. who buys you drinks all night, who watches you try to remain on the mechanical bull while wearing one of her hats. who drags you into the bathroom stall and fucks you up against the wall right there or makes you ride her thigh.
𖤓 cowgirl!robin who loves to have your company while she’s working. and definitely not because of the way your eyes trace the shape of her outline, or because you can’t stop yourself from stroking her sweat stained muscles…
(𖤓 cowgirl!robin who does look a little too good whenever she’s working: with her flexed muscles, and stained body, panting heavily.)
𖤓 cowgirl!robin who wears a heavy belt almost all day. comes in handy when you can’t seem to keep your hands to yourself: she can easily tie you to the bed, wrap the leather belt around your wrists and have her way with you until you’re and overstimulated mess. “oh is that too much? too much when i touch you there? oh no? you want more? then why are you grinding against my hand like that, pretty girl?”
𖤓 cowgirl!robin who has a large collection of cowboy boots that you are obsessed with. especially ever since you were too impatient for her to finish work, so she made you get off on them. “such a desperate slut. tsk, tsk, tsk…well if you want it so badly” and, just like that, you found yourself on your knees for her, rutting against her boot. “come on, be a good girl and get yourself off for me”
𖤓 cowgirl!robin who gives you a necklace with a silver “R” charm. she loves how it looks on you, how it sits right between your collar bones, how it bounces when you’re riding her…
𖤓 speaking of which: riding cowgirl!robin in reversed cowgirl style, with your hands tied behind your back???? her hands holding your hips to guide you???
𖤓 cowgirl!robin who loves to see you in her clothes, whether it’s her boots, her flannels, her hats etc. she loves to wake up to you in nothing but one of those oversized shirts, buttons undone and your chest on display for her.
𖤓 cowgirl!robin who takes you on late night drives in her truck that end up on her backseat, with her head buried between your thighs.
𖤓 cowgirl!robin who makes you ride her strap while she shows you how to work the tractor. (“something wrong sugar? you’ve been real quiet…”)
𖤓 surprising cowgirl!robin in nothing but a set of lingerie and her hat after a long day of work???
𖤓 cowgirl!robin who loves nothing more than to see you choke on her strap. she loves the way you drool on it, the way your eyes roll back in your head when she pushes it just a little bit further down your throat. “god yes. fuck, look at you: taking it so well.”
𖤓 cowgirl!robin spitting on your cunt while she fucks it, letting her slick spit drip between your folds, using her fingers to push it inside.
𖤓 cowgirl!robin who loves to hear you beg for it. literally every chance she can get to hear your pretty voice, begging her to fuck you, begging her to take you just a little harder, begging for your release.
𖤓 cowgirl!robin who is obsessed with your breasts. whether it’s sucking them while she’s fucking you or grabbing them with one hand while the other is shoved down your underwear.
Movie Night
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairings: Robin Buckley Word Count: 1.7k words Kink: Thigh riding Warnings: NSFW, kinktober, thigh riding, swearing, implied oral (f!receiving), relatively vanilla... A/N: I'm late for Kinktober but I'm going to keep posting these until I finish. If I still have prompts left over, I am going to transfer it into a Christmas event and we'll call it. Thanks and enjoy!
Tumblr media
A raspy giggle bubbles out of Robin's chest when you pull her closer to your chest. She'd gotten up to bring the plate of cookies from the kitchen and decided she'd just sit in your lap, expecting you to push her off and call her annoying when she blocks your view of the TV. Instead, you wrap your arms around her front and pull her down so her back is flush against your chest, biting her shoulder teasingly.
"What are you, a fucking dog?" she jokes, scooting off your lap after setting the cookies down and making you let go of her.
"Worse," you smile, leaning over to her and wrapping her back up in your arms to pull her back into you. "I'm your girlfriend."
"That is worse," she mumbles, grabbing a cookie and pouting when you take it just as she's about to take a bite. She just grabs another and rolls her eyes when you take a bite of yours and give it back.
You turn your eyes back to the screen, trying to catch back on to the plot and being unable to engage with it again. It was some kind of B-movie horror plot with a lot of fake blood, cliché jokes, bad graphics, terrible jumpscares, and honestly too many sex scenes that have at least one boob flash that has the both of you quieting down.
You and Robin have been together for a few good months, and they've been glorious months. Of course, your relationship is a secret among the world of people who aren't your fucked-up little group of weirdos and freaks, but you're happy. You're more than happy. And you can't be together for as long as you have been and not…experiment.
You and Robin have fucked before.
But you're still very awkward people who can only respond so well to pretty women with pretty boobs on screen. But you digress…
"What's this movie even about?" you ask, setting your chin on her shoulder and looking at her.
She shrugs her free shoulder. "I don't know. Steve gave it to me when I asked what we should watch tonight."
Just as the words come out, both your focus is stolen when the sounds of a girl's over-exaggerated moans reign through the living room after the sequence had cut to yet another sex scene.
When you turn, you're both met with a face full of bouncing boobs as the woman is meant to be riding some dude's lap. You scoff and roll your eyes to hide your fluster, but she just ducks her head and turns to you. It's awkward, watching these poor depictions of romance and sex on screen and being so…new to romance and sex in real life.
Your eyes lock with hers, and she gives you a smile upon seeing your pretty face so close to hers. Her gaze darts to your slightly chapped lips and wants to kiss you so, so much. So she does.
It took a shameful amount of time, for the both of you, but you have finally reached that point that you no longer have to ask the other one for hand-holding and hugs and kisses anymore. Steve and Eddie call you pathetic, and you are. But so are they, so it doesn't matter.
Her lips brush yours, and you pull her in to be rid of the petty shyness with your hand on the back of her neck. She hums against your lips and then pulls away, smiling prettily. "You know he picked this movie on purpose, right?" she mutters. "He's trying to get us to have sex."
You shrug, smiling to yourself as you stare at her lips. "We'll get him a bouquet or something," you say as you bring her close again.
Your curled lips move softly but insistently against her curled lips as you blindly reach for the remote to cease the incessant wailing of the "sex scene" that has honestly just gone way too long. You manage to get it paused as you adjust yourself to straddle Robin's lap. And she's happy to have you as her hands fall to your waist, and she makes sure you can't break away from her.
You hold her face in your hands, squishing her cheeks a bit. She's so pretty, you note in between kisses when you let your eyes open just enough to see the freckles dusting her cheeks and her nose and her forehead, and her face bare of any makeup, which brings out the beauty of her freckles even more.
She squeezes your waist a little tighter, lowering her palms to your waist and bringing you in closer. Her lips strayed from yours to graze the skin for your neck, tentative little nips and suckles at the flesh making you sigh as you bare your throat to give her space to decorate. Her nose nudges the bottom of your chin, and you chuckle lightly. You feel her smile at the vibrations in your throat when you do.
You graze your fingers along your shoulders, down her spine through her clothes as her back arches into you as a result. You swivel your hips down on her, searching for friction as the heat in your flesh rises. You feel her hand curl around your leg, shifting it over her lap so you sit on her thigh. You moan at the friction you find there as you shift your hips again.
Robin’s hand trails up to your ass again, pulling you closer as you continue to grind down on her. Her eyes are glued to you as they trail along your face, one of her hands raising from your hip to trace along the skin of your neck and feel the vibrations from the gentle moans that slip out. She wraps the hand around your neck and pulls you close, kissing your neck again and urging your hips with her free hand into another seductive roll.
You grind yourself a little rougher, your movements becoming more desperate as the wetness begins to seep through your shorts and stain the material of her jeans. She doesn’t seem to care, both her hands gripping your waist in favor of encouraging your eager pursuit against her thigh.
You whimper when she stops you, bringing you up to make you stand on shaky legs as she pulls you close by your waist again to lift your shirt enough to kiss your belly. You pull it over your head, and she pulls your shorts down your legs. You’re reaching for your panties when she just pulls you back down onto her thigh and kisses you again. She devours your mouth, this woman hungry for your desire much different from the girl you spent endless nights next to in front of the old television set watching B movies with.
You moan as the material of her jeans rubs at your clit rhythmically, separated only by the thin material of your cotton panties. Your arms come to rest behind her head, your fingers tangling in her hair as you kiss her with as much attention as you can spare with the way her thigh’s got you so distracted. You pull your bottom lip between your teeth, biting down hard on it as the pleasure rises deliciously in your belly. Your arousal is soaking through your clothes, only making your desire for her all the worse as does hers for you.
“God, you’re so wet,” she sighs, watching your pussy run against the fabric of her jeans. "Keep riding my thigh, baby. You're doing amazing."
Her name is a whimper from your throat as she encourages you. The pleasure is rising within you and your legs begin to ache and tremble against your efforts. "Bobbie, I'm gonna cum," you moan. "Shit, it's so good."
Her hold of your waist tightened a little more, her nails digging into your flesh as she attached herself to your lips and your jaw and your neck. She nods, concentrating on your grinding clit a little more. "Get yourself off on my thigh. Come on, baby, you can do it."
You keep rolling your hips, your breath shuddering at every little rub against your clit as the sensitivity heightened more and more. The pleasure crackled within your limbs, like pop rocks on your tongue or those sparklers you light with Robin on the Fourth of July.
And just like that, you press your body against Robin's as you cum, thighs trembling and chest heaving as you gasp a loud moan of her name.
"Oh, God," you huffed. "Fuck, Bobbie."
Robin listens to you with heavy breaths of her own, her kiss-swollen lips parted and her hooded eyes watching your every unfolding. "You look so beautiful, baby," she smiles. You hardly notice the way her hips shift, excited by your arousal while you're gripping her shoulders and resting your forehead on hers.
She watches you come down, rubbing your hands on her shoulders and neck before you're taking her lips on your own. She kisses you gingerly, a smile in the curve of her lips as she holds you tight.
"Oh, God! Please!"
You both turn toward the TV as the screaming of one of the characters you hadn't even realized existed is brutally (and comically) murdered on camera, a knife "stabbing" into her and "carving" her up like a Thanksgiving turkey.
You snicker, turning back to Robin and bursting into laughter upon seeing her face alone. She joins you, resting her head in the crook of your neck as her shoulders bounce with each laugh.
You tilt her chin up to kiss her again, and she chuckles against you. "Better?" she asks, raising a brow.
You nod, "Yeah." Reluctantly, you slip off her thigh and put your hands over your face as you take in the sight of her soaked pant leg. "Fuck, sorry."
She laughs. "I mean, I'm not complaining."
"You're fucking weird," you mutter, moving to your knees in front of her as you crook a finger around the waistband of her jeans.
"What are you doing?" she asks.
You undo the button. "Reciprocating."
"Oh," she stutters but doesn't object. You pull her jeans down her legs and push them apart. Her body blushes and she chuckles gently, giddily, before picking up the remote. "That can wait."
Brother's Best Friend
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Part 2
↝a/n: idk how to feel about this one. Feedback is appreciated! :)
↝pairing: robin buckley x Harrington!reader
↝Warning: arguing, a school fight, homophobic douchebag who says gross stuff, party, alcohol, pinning, kissing, not proofread
↝⎙ 6.15.23
Tumblr media
She hated you. She hated how you dressed, how you acted, how you talked, how you smiled, how you laughed, how you walked, how you fixed your hair. How you applied lip gloss on your plump, kissable lips. Most importantly, she hated how you were Steve's sister. You and Steve were complete opposites, always having something small to argue about no matter who's around. But having each other's backs when needed.
She could recall a day where you wore a pink skirt along with a scowl on your face as a girl from school had been talking crap about your brother. The other girl hadn't been popular, but a shit talking bitch nonetheless, just listening to everything and gossiping when given the chance.
Robin had been at her locker when she heard everything, the caos and people talking about a fight as they ran down the hall. She followed the two younger highschoolers, coming around a corner to see you, ears a fire-y red and knuckles a ghost white as your nails dug into your palms. The other girl kept blabbering about the next bimbo to be in your brothers bed, which set you off. A small, humorless laugh had the cocky grin fall smooth off her face. Robin wasn't close enough to hear what you said before the girl had swung, hitting you but hurting herself more with how she had her fist, most likely jamming her thumb. A gasp echoed in Robin's head, watching as you only swung once, enough to say it was self defense- when in reality it just felt good to shut the girl up for a little bit.
She had just watched as the principal walked both of you down the hall, scolding you.
She hated how you made her promise not to tell Steve that you got suspended. "You can't tell Steve."
"And why not? You punched her!"
"For good reason!" You had countered, pleading her with your eyes. "Please, Robin." That might have been the first time you have been nice to her. There was always some snippy comments being spat at her when she was around, making Steve take up for his friend. "I'll do anything; He can't know."
So she kept your secret. You kept getting ready for school in the mornings, leaving with a small something for breakfast, and bidding Steve goodbye. She didn't know where you went after you left, or where you could spend 7 hours where Steve wouldn't catch you. But her mouth stayed shut. She honestly surprised herself, keeping a secret- especially from her best friend.
On a random Friday you had worn a blue skirt, accidentally matching Robin's blue shirt. Steve had pointed it out, laughing it off as you got a snack. Robin noticed the small smirk on your face ever since you came out of your room. She also noticed how it grew as you asked Robin to walk with you to school, since you were both going, of course.
"You're not going to murder her, right?" Steve joked, although seeming a little concerned. A little out of the ordinary.
Rolling your eyes, you slapped him upside the head. "I can't walk with a friend?"
"Yeah, but I didn't think Robin was a friend..."
"We're friends- right, Robin?" With a scoff, you turned to her, waiting for her to reply.
Slowly nodding, she couldn't help but notice the difference lip gloss you wore. Had you been wearing that one all week and she hadn't noticed? She had been over every morning to talk to Steve before school. No, she would have noticed. Why was she so worried about it?!
She stood up ubruptly, bidding goodbye to Steve before hauling herself through the house. She heard you running behind her. "Wait up!" Even now, she hated how she could smell your perfume when you finally caught up, walking beside her. "Thanks for not telling him."
Opting not to respond, she continued to walk, finding her shoes interesting.
"Sorry I've been rude to you in the past, I've just never been able to talk to people and the first time I met you I thought you were just one of his flings but then you stayed and I didn't really know how to feel and you were just so-"
For once it wasn't Robin rambling, she finally understood what her mother was talking about when she'd ramble on for what felt like hours. "Hey, Breathe."
"Sorry."
"I was so what?" Robin stopped walking, turning to you.
She noticed the small blush on your cheeks and ears, yet another pretty pink shade on you.
"What?"
"You said I 'was so'...what were you going to say?"
"Pretty. You were- are so pretty. Sorry." Any sign of the Harrington smirk and confidence was gone. You looked like a whole different person in front of her. Robin couldn't believe it.
"How can you go from a spoiled brat to a shy little thing?" She didn't notice how her voice darkened, usually not talking to you like this. But you had.
"What?" Your eyes widened, jaw droppimg before you glanced around.
Robin felt like she hadn't been in control of her body when those words slipped out. Sure, she had thought them but she didn't want to actually say them! "I didn't- that wasn't supposed to be said outloud. I didn't- I don't." Turning back around, she started walking again. "How about I accept your apology for being mean to me before and you forget about what I just said, deal?"
She could see your stupid grin from beside her, "deal."
"Give it back!" She hated how you would take things and run away with them, giggling as you did so. Like now, you took her sandwich and ran away through Family Video, giggling like a maniac. "C'mon, that was the last of the bread!"
"I'll give it back for a kiss." She hated how your words made her cheeks flush. You've joked about kissing her before, along with all your friends. But it was different for her. She didn't even know if you know about her being lesbian. Steve wasn't one to go around telling everyone her business so she doubted it. When she didn't reply, you slowly made your way back, handing her the sandwich back. "I was kidding."
"Yeah, yeah." She reached for her sandwich, putting it back in the ziplock, not feeling hungry anymore.
You noticed, of course you did. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing."
"No." Your hand was suddenly on her arm, stopping her from moving. Your touch was like fire to her skin, despite how soft your skin was and how you've been whining about how cold it was recently. "What is going on with you lately?"
She opened her mouth to squash whatever you were thinking was wrong with her, but Steve came back from the back room, done with the new stock. "Y/n? I thought you were busy today."
When it hit you, Robin saw it in your face. Your hand fell from her arm, in search of your purse. "Oh shit! I gotta go-" Her eyes never left you as you stepped towards the door. "Robin, we gotta hang out sometime." Her eyebrows were practically over her head, like a surprised cartoon. Her brain felt as if she had forgotten how to talk, or even what word were.
She couldn't do that. She would not be in a room by yourselves ever again. "Date?" It slipped past Robin's lips before her brain fully went back from the frizzy state.
Steve gave a glance to his friend, not quite sure what had changed between you two- going from hating each other to wanting to hang out. He didn't question it. Not having to hear you take jabs at each other was heaven. "Maybe."
Robin heard your voice as soon as she entered the room, causing her feet to turn and try to quickly get out of the room and maybe even the country. "Buckley!"
Shit. Robin cursed herself, shutting her eyes as you giggled, making your way to her. She knew the party was a bad idea. She had been bored all day, with Steve having work and it being her off day, plus a Saturday. When she had heard some kids from school talking about a party, she didn't really think about who would be there. She now regretted that.
"Robin." She turned, seeing your smiling face, noticing your eyes creasing from how big you were grinning.
"Y/n." She acknowledged you. Your face fell a little when her face was straight, not sign of any emotion.
"I wouldn't expect to see you here."
Not knowing why that hit a nerve, she couldn't help to feel hurt. "What is that supposed to mean?"
"Nothing! Uh," your smile fully fell, looking away from her. "Wanna come meet my friends?"
She had followed you through the house, weed and alcohol reeking through the room. Her eyes were set on your back, how the shirt tucked into the back of a pretty little white skirt. She wondered if that was all you had in your closet- it's not like she was complaining. More laughter echoed the little corner where a few people Robin had seen you hang around were sitting.
She stayed by your side most of the night, watching people around and you. She was never one for drinking, you however, wanted the buzz. You were even more giggly. Robin didn't know if she could handle it much longer.
"She just hasn't had this guy yet- I can't turn her back straight." Her eyes shot up to one of the guys who had interrupted your introduction to introduce himself. She could tell he had had way too much to drink, alcohol practically replaced the blood in his veins.
Her eyes followed where he and a few other people were looking and laughing. A girl who was openly lesbian was talking with her friends, laughing and enjoying the party, unknown of the cruel words being said.
The laughing pissed Robin off. Who did he think he was to say that? She couldn't believe you were friends with this guy. She half expecting you to laugh too, any second now. But as she turned slightly to look at you, you looked almost uncomfortable. "Mark, don't say stuff like that." The guy stopped laughing, his eyes traveling your body.
"What, Harrington?" He sat up, dragging his hand down his front to land on his crotch. Robin's nose crinkled in disgust. "You know what I can do to a woman." Your whole face broke out in disgust, almost as if all the alcohol would come up any second. "I'd have her straight as a board in no time."
As you stood up ubruptly, Robin's hands went out to catch you as you wobbled. "You're disgusting." You slurred, turning to walk away.
Robin was up and following you in a second, feeling as if getting away from that group was a breath of fresh air.
When the real fresh air hit her, she noticed you leaning against a tree in the front yard. She was quick to walk over. "Hey- you alright?"
"Yeah. He just makes me feel sick to my stomach."
"That might be the 10 gallons of alcohol you consumed." She joked, chuckling at herself, trying to lighten the situation.
"We should just leave." You got off the tree, wobbling on the sidewalk, towards your house. You didn't expect to feel her following you, thinking she would walk the other way, towards her own house. "What are you doing?"
"Walking you home." Her hands were in her pockets, the wind blowing her hair behind her.
"You don't have to."
"You shouldn't be walking home alone and drunk in the dark."
You didn't reply all the way back to your house. She walked you into the house, grabbing you a glass of water. The door opened with a push of her shoulder against it. "Here." She looked up, eyes growing wide with the lack of clothing you have. Her head shot to your door, closing it incase Steve came out of his room. Her eyes stayed on the ground as she quickly walked over to your dresser, almost slamming the glass down.
"Robin?" She hated how sweet your voice was. It almost didn't sound like you.
No one should ever sound that sweet, it's dangerous. "Ye-yeah?"
"Can you help me?" Her eyes looked up, going straight to your own, not daring to even look at your exposed collar bone.
"What?" Surely you didn't need help just throwing some clothes on.
Yet, you shamelessly stood in your underwear and bra, looking at her. "I can't undo my bra." You turned, your back exposed to her. She felt the air get stuck in her throat.
"Can't you just get in bed?"
"It pokes me." You whined, your hands trying to reach back but failing to fully find the clasp. Robin stepped forward, her hands becoming sweating as they met the cloth, slowly unclasping the three little metel pieces. Even after she was done, she couldn't help how soft your skin looked; how she wanted to lean forward and kiss until her lips felt numb.
"Thank you." She didn't moved as your turned, a tired smile on your face- her eyes stayed looking straight into your own.
The space between you was little, neither of you moving, for different reasons though, Robin had realized. She stepped back, letting you climb into your bed.
"You shouldn't go to bed with makeup on." Her voice was a little over a whisper. She had heard your complaint about how bad it was for your skin and your sheet and pillowcase.
You groaned, throwing your hand over the covers. Before you could voice your distaste for anything but sleep, she was walking towards your vanity, getting the makeup remover and walking over to the bed. You looked up at her as she kneeled beside the bed, bringing the cotton to your face, gently rubbing the makeup off. Your eyes raked over her face as if you haven't seen it before.
"There." She closed the bottle, throwing the cotton into your trash bin, going to stand up. Your hands stopped her movement, making her look at you in question.
She hated how soft your eyes looked up at her. "Thank you, Robin." Your fingers grazed her arm back and forth, an unknown pattern being made. "You're the best."
"I know."
"You can't go home."
"Why?"
"Because you shouldn't be out this late, all by yourself." She sighed, enjoying the patterns being drawn on her skin.
"I'll be fine."
"No." She looked at you with question in her eyes at how stern you were. "You can stay here." You patted the spot beside you on the bed. She felt the air get caught in her throat again, and her ear turn pink. As if on cue, rain hit your window, running down the glass as if it was taunting Robin and her emotions.
You don't lay in the same bed with people you hate. But she couldn't help it. It was late, cold, and raining. And your voice and face were so soft in emotion. She couldn't help herself.
Her eyes were glued to the ceiling, listening to the rain outside and your breathing beside her.
After a few minutes of silence in the dark room, she felt movement in the bed, and heard the blanket wrinkle with your movement. Suddenly, she felt your eyes on her, causing her to turn her head.
You were on your side, still having the same look in your eyes, as if she was the first person you had ever laid your eyes on. "You're pretty."
"You need to go to sleep, y/n." She dismissed you, seeing the sleep take over, noticing under your eyes and how your eyes were glossed over in sleep.
"Can I have a goodnight kiss?" She stared at you, not seeing the normal joking smirk, yet she nervously chuckled. She stopped when you sat up, a frown on your face. "I'm serious."
"You're drunk."
"Not enough." She followed your movement, sitting up and ignoring how the sheet fell from your exposed chest. "When I say I want to kiss you, I mean it."
"What?" You rolled your eyes, your hand going to grab hers.
"I like you. A lot, actually."
"It's just the alcohol talking- lay back down."
"No!" She flinched at your outburst. "I like you. I actually do. I have for a while. That's why I was mean to you when Steve brought you over. He's always managed to bring such beautiful girls over and you were way out of his league, truly. I was jealous, I guess." You were almost shy under her gaze, fiddling with your own hands now, letting her have her own back. "I kept being mean so I didn't have to ignore you completely - god, that would've killed me, Robin. I wasn't sure what to do- I certainly couldn't just go up to you and tell you I liked you. I wasn't sure, ya know? But when I saw the way you used to look at Vicky- I knew. I think I also brought my jealously out on you for that- sorry about that. She's a beautiful girl, I get it. But you're my 'Vicky'. I adore you more then I could ever physically express. And I probably wouldn't have even said anything if it weren't for the liquid courage, honestly. But I'm still thinking like I normally do. I know this isn't a mistake, no matter what happens between us next. And I am now realizing I'm blabbering. Sorry."
When you looked up, you were surprised to see her grinning.
"You're adorable." It was your turn to blush. "Can I kiss you?" Her quiet, raspy voice would have you doing anything she could ever ask.
"Of course. It's not like I've asked you 200 times-" her lips met yours, softly moving against each other and not coming up for air until your lungs screamed. She pulled back, her hand grazing the side of your neck.
You could feel her breath fan against your face, her forehead against your own. She whispered against your lips before going back into a kiss, not getting enough of you. "You talk too much."
Maybe she doesn't hate you.
⭐️Radio Star⭐️ (part 2)
(Part one) (part three)
(TW: brief mentions of blood and Self-Harm)
Vickie was late. Very late. And Steve wasn’t one to jump to conclusions (okay, maybe he was) but he was pretty sure she wasn’t coming. Robin was slouched over in the chair, her head in her hands, the cat—which Eddie had come over to tell her it’s name (Ozzy) earlier—was curled up in her lap. Steve knew she was crying by the way her shoulders shook slightly and her fingers were all curled up, but he didn’t say anything because there were more people in the shop now and he didn’t want to embarrass her.
“This is just great,” She muttered, her voice strangled. “This is just fucking great.”
“Language.” Steve said back, and she looked all fuzzy now, making him have to squint hard to see her. He was getting worse, but he wasn’t going to admit that. Her head moved up and he opened his eyes again, looking away.
“Steve —“
“I’ll be fine in a few minutes, just—give me a second.” He whispered, standing up and grabbing onto the chair. He needed another drink.
There was a line this time, and he bumped into a few people on the way there, which made his insides twist into knots, because fuck, maybe Robin was right? Maybe he did need glasses, and he’d just have to suck it up and deal with it.
When he finally got to the front, everything was all just shapes and colors, and his ears were ringing, and fuck he felt dizzy, his head spinning. Everything was quiet and fuzzy, and there was someone in front of him talking, but it was quiet and distorted.
He placed his hands on the counter and felt himself slump over slightly, his breaths feeling heavy in his chest, quick and hard. There was a hand on his shoulder and he felt himself flinch away, but it was like he was floating outside of his body, looking down at himself, and all he could see were hazy blurry shapes. It was like he wasn’t ever there.
Then the hand was back and he leaned into it, despite himself, and the thing stuttered slightly, before he felt another one at his elbow, and he was being shuffled forward. “Robin?” He muttered, trying to lift his head up fully, but he felt like falling to the floor and just fucking melting. Why was there always something wrong with him?
The person said something back, but their hands were rough and their fingers were long and thin, and some parts felt cold and hard against him, so it probably wasn’t Robin. He felt the back of his knees bump into a chair and he sat down blindly, his eyes squeezed shut so that he would stop nearly throwing up from the spinning colors and lights. He nearly fell over sideways, but the hands hauled him back up and into the chair properly, and then there was another set of hands on him, softer and more gripping then the first pair. That was probably Robin. He felt bad for the other person—the poor stranger who had to help him stumble over to his table while he put all of his weight on them and barely moved his feet.
After a few moments of peace, Robin’s hands wrapped around him and his face pressed against her shoulder, her hair in his face. It smelled like the conditioner he used. That’s what he got for leaving it in the shower instead of putting it back in the cabinet.
“You used my shampoo,” He mumbled, trying to push himself away from her, because she really shouldn’t have to be dealing with this on top of feeling shitty about Vickie not showing, but she held him firmly against her chest and scoffed out a laugh, her voice more clear and recognizable since she was practically speaking into his ear.
“That’s what you’re worried about right now, Dingus?” She muttered, her fingers twisting and tugging anxiously at the hair on the back of his neck, and it was probably ruining the look—since he had spent an hour doing it, even though it wasn’t his date—but it was fine. As long as it stopped her from pinching bruises into her arms, he could deal with having slightly messed up hair—even if that thought made his skin crawl.
It took a while, but eventually the world stopped spinning, and maybe it was Robin’s constant panicked rambling that was helping ground him, as she went on and on about how this wasn’t really that bad compared to the time that a friend from when she was younger passed out at a basketball court and lost her vision and hearing for two weeks, and she still needs glasses and hearing aids even now, and—
“Robin,” He said, pushing himself up and rubbing his eyes, the room finally holding still long enough for him to focus on her face for a moment or two before he closed his eyes again. “I’m okay now. And I’m sorry that happened to Kayla, but I'm okay. It won’t happen to me.”
He hated hearing her talk like that, because that’s how she rambled when she was scared, and it reminded him of those hours sitting alone in the dark and bleeding, asking her to just talk to me to try and stop her from sobbing, because she was going to get dehydrated soon and he didn’t know the next time they were going to get water. Or food. And she did talk—about everything and anything. She told him that her favorite color was yellow, and that she really liked sharks, and that maybe if they ever got out and he still wanted to be friends he could drive her to her favorite aquarium in Indy—because she also confessed that she had never gotten her license—so that she could show him her favorite tank with the stingrays in it.
They hadn’t gone yet, but they had tried a few times. It always ended with one of them freaking out—because they were still kids, and not even grown-ass people are good at dealing with traumatic memories. Okay, they were both 20, but still. That was young. To young to have gone through the shit that they had fucking been through. They both had scars, and neither of them liked to talk about it. Even after two years of being told that they would “heal” over time, the marks were still there, white-hot and dark and dripping blood down their arms and their chests and their legs.
Sometimes Steve would re-open them, but he didn’t do that very much anymore—not after Robin had found out why he still bled, knew all along but just didn’t know how to ask, and had told him to let her know when he got that bad again.
“—eve? Steven?” Robin was tapping his cheek gently with her fingers. “Did you OD over there?” She was trying to make a joke, but there was concern in her voice.
“I’m…no, no. Just thinking,” He said, laughing lightly, but there was no humor behind it. “I’m alright.”
“You keep saying that, but you’re not. Don’t lie to me,” She whispered, taking his hand in hers and squeezing gently, the lone ring on her middle finger cold against him. Was that what he had felt? But then why did the hands feel so rough? Calloused? Maybe it was all in his head. Everything seemed to be, these days.
“I am. I’m okay, Bobby,” He lies again, looking around once he can finally see everything normally again. His eyes meet Eddie’s over the counter, who looks concerned, but drops the face once he notices Steve looking at him—just giving him a shrug and a blank expression before turning to smile at the young woman at the front of the counter who’s ordering.
Steve doesn’t know why that stings in his chest, but it does—something sharp and aching as he watched Eddie flirt with the girl. So he does that with all of his customers. It wasn’t a special thing. Not that he wanted it to be, of course, he totally doesn’t care about this.
He and Robin just sit there for a while, her fingers tracing lines over his palm as she talks quietly about something that he’s not really comprehending fully. She had told him he should rest for a bit so that he won’t crash the car when they drive home. She still hasn’t gotten her license yet.
After a half-an-hour, Robin was still talking, and Steve wanted nothing more than to just go home and sleep, even though it wasn’t really that late in the day yet, but then someone off to his side cleared his throat. Robin shut up and he looked over at—oh. Eddie.
“Hey.” Steve said, his voice breaking slightly from being quiet for so long, but he didn’t really feel embarrassed about it. He had a lot to be embarrassed about right now, really. His hair was a mess, and his eyes were tired and his skin was too pale with the scars on his arms poking out from underneath the sleeves of his shirt.
“Hey,” Eddie whispered back, looking down. “I just…how are you feeling?” He looked hesitant, and his cheeks were flushed.
“Fine,” Steve muttered, words short and clipped—like he was angry, but he wasn’t. “I’m fine. Sorry you had to see that. I’m just—tired.”
“Thanks,” Eddie mutters, almost absentmindedly, and Steve felt himself flinch slightly, because fuck, that was meant to be polite and not an actually fucking apology. Did Eddie really mind that much? Maybe Steve really was just a fucking inconvenience.
Eddie’s head snapped up and his cheeks went even more red. “Shit, I—sorry, sorry. It’s fine. It’s okay, I—you’re pretty light, so it really wasn’t any trouble,” He was rambling now, and as upset as Steve was in the moment, it was kind of adorable (fuck, he really needed to stop thinking shit like that). “Again, I—I tend to not think before I speak, so. Yeah.” His voice got quiet at the end, and he did really look apologetic about it, so Steve straightened up and shrugged, giving him a short, small smile.
“It’s fine, man. Don’t worry about it. I get it.” He glanced over at Robin, confused about the comment on him being light. Robin paused for a moment, and then gave him a confused look back, which he took to mean, why are you looking at me?
Steve sighed and looked back at Eddie. “We should go,” and then shot a pointed look at Robin, who shot him a mocking one back, looking slightly disappointed—for what, he wasn’t sure—and then helped him up. He could walk fine on his own, now, but she still hovered near him as he grabbed her green knit sweater with the little yellow star in the front that she must have taken off earlier.
Robin snatched it back from him and cradled it to her chest. “Don’t touch my stuff.”
Steve only rolled his eyes and said a quick goodbye to Eddie before walking out of the building as fast as he could without tripping or bumping into something. He was fumbling with the car keys when he heard Eddie tell Robin that they were welcome back any time, to which she replied, “Oh, yes, I will be coming back for Ozzy.” Before patting Eddie’s shoulder and following after Steve.
Once they were both in the car, he started it and sighed.
Tumblr media
Robin was glaring out the window for the entire ride home, and Steve had no idea why. He turned the music on, and she slapped his hand away, turning it off again.
“Why didn’t you get his number?” She snapped, now glaring at him instead of off into space.
“Don’t know what you’re talking about, Robs. Just let me focus on driving.” He gripped the steering wheel tighter, his hands shaking slightly as he kept his eyes on the road. “I know you’re upset about Vickie, but you don’t have to take it out on me. We can watch that shark documentary you like when we get home and I’ll make you some tea, okay?”
“Fine,” she mumbled, ducking her head down slightly as she tried to pull her sweater over herself around the seatbelt. He ended up stopping on the side of the road so that she could unbuckle and do it before they kept driving home.
could you do a robin buckley x theatre kid!reader?? i think it would be so cute if maybe robin has seen her in the school musicals and stuff but was always too shy to talk to her!!
Spotlight
Tumblr media
summary: robin sees you in one of your shows and gets a little crush on you... warnings: fem! reader, theatre kid *vine boom sound*, I wrote this on my phone while at my show’s rehearsal too lol (which means this is also not proofread) word count: 1k notes: as a theatre kid, thank you for this request lol
Robin didn’t want to necessarily see the musical, but if it meant getting out of math class, she didn’t mind. She was sat in the middle of the audience and thought she was going to take a quick nap, then the music started and you came out. Alone, in the spotlight.
As you started to sing, Robin was immediately hooked. Not on the show, on you. Your voice, your presence, your looks. She felt her heart race and her face blush as you continued with your song, pacing the stage as your cast-mates joined you.
She didn’t even think about a nap or anything else while you were on stage. Your performance was captivating, holding not only Robin’s attention, but everyone in the audience’s. Even if you weren’t singing or apart of a scene, if you were in the background, Robin’s eyes were on you.
Intermission came and went, but Robin couldn’t wait for act two to start and to see you perform more.
Robin didn’t consider herself a big theater fan. She loved movies, but she wasn’t interested in seeing live theater that often. Maybe if Steve or the kids dragged her, just not on her own free time.
Act two came and went. Robin stood with everyone else as they applauded, her eyes locked on you as you took your bow. You and your cast-mates left the stage and the lights came back up. Robin filed out of her row and into the isle, following her peers out of the auditorium.
Once in the lobby, she started down the hall to go back to class, but she stopped when she saw you. You were walking arm-in-arm with a co-star, laughing and still in your costume. Robin’s heart skipped a beat as her feet planted her where she was.
When you passed by her, she finally spoke up.
“Hey,” she said quietly, but it caught your attention. You stopped and turned to look at her, a soft smile on your face. “Y-you did really good.”
Your smile grew wider. “Thank you.”
You held her gaze for a few more moments before your co-star pulled you into the crowd, leaving Robin blushing and falling for you.
———
Robin suddenly wanted to go to every show, more specifically, the shows you were in. It didn’t matter if you were the star, the supporting role, or in the ensemble, Robin wanted to see you. She didn’t know any of the shows, but it was worth it.
Steve noticed her new hobby, and brought it up one day as he drove her to work.
“So…you’re into theater now, huh?” He asked, drumming his fingers on the steering wheel.
“Yeah, I-“ Robin started, but quickly stopped herself. “Why are you bringing this up?”
Steve hummed, “I think someone has a little crush.”
His sing-songs voice made her roll her eyes.
“You don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“I do, though,” he replied. “Your actress crush came in to the store on your day off with a friend. I overheard them talking about you, specifically she was talking about you.”
“And? What did she say?” Robin quickly perked up.
“‘Don’t know what I’m talking about’, huh?” He teased, earning a slap on the arm from her. “Fine! She thought you were cute and wanted to talk to you after her shows, but you always leave before she can.”
Robin leaned back in her seat, her gaze turning to the window. Maybe there was a chance that you liked her back, just a little bit. The thought of talking to you gave her butterflies, you had left her a bit starstruck.
“Earth to Robin!” Steve said loudly, waving his hand in front of her face.
She blinked and looked back over at him. “What?”
He laughed. “You’re totally head over heels for her.”
“I’m not!”
“You are!”
The rest of the ride consisted of Steve and Robin arguing over her little crush.
———
You excitedly scanned the crowd the best you could when you first went on. Even with the stage lights in your eyes, you spotted her in the middle seat, where she always is. Robin.
Your friend had a class with her and told you everything about her the moment you hinted at even liking her. You noticed her at your shows and you were developing a little crush on her, but she always left before you could see her after the show.
The rest of your performance went by quickly and you were the first one off stage. You were determined to catch her before she left. You raced out the door and down the hall to the lobby, watching the stream of people exiting the theater for her.
You spotted her and smiled, pushing your way through the crowd to get to her. You reached out and tugged on her sleeve, causing her to turn around.
Her eyes widened and her mouth opened, but no words came out.
“Hi,” you said timidly.
“Hi,” she replied in the same tone. The crowd moved around you two, making it seem like it was just you and her.
“Y-you were great.”
“Thank you,” you answered, “I’ve seen you at all my shows, but I never catch you afterwards.”
“Yeah, I, uh, I usually have to go…” Robin said, lying through her teeth.
“Well, I’m happy I was able to catch you. I’ve been wanting to talk to you.”
“About what?”
You smiled wider and blushed. “If you want, I…I’d really like to hang out with you sometime.”
You noted the blush that dusted her cheeks.
“I-I, uh, I’d love that!” She quickly answered, stumbling over her words with how quickly she said them. She returned your smile and the two of you slipped your way away from the crowd.
“Um,” you glanced around before snatching a program from a stand and a pen. You quickly scribbled out your number on the piece of paper then handed it to her. “Here, call me and we can figure out the details.”
Robin smiled and took it. “Okay, great.”
You two stood there smiling at each other for a moment, then she pointed her thumb back. “I…I should get going.”
“Okay, I’ll see you later,” you said as you waved her goodbye. You watched her leave and sighed.
You quickly and turned to go back to your dressing room. You wanted to get out of costume and go home.
You couldn’t wait for her call.
Cherry on Top (Robin Buckley x Fem!Reader) Fluff
Tumblr media
When the pining between Robin and the cute customer who comes into Scoops Ahoy becomes too much for Steve to bear, he hatches as plan to give them then gentle push they both so desperately need.
Word Count:1,184
Masterlist // Robin Buckley Masterlist
It was just a summer job Robin thought to herself. It's not forever.
Even so, working at Scoops Ahoy wasn't all that bad, sure the uniforms were silly, and slightly scratchy against her skin, the pay wasn't all that much, and sometimes customers were straight up rude. However, despite its ever-stacking list of cons, there were a few pros; such as staff discounts on ice cream, and working alongside Steve Harrington, who had surprisingly grown up a lot since high-school. Proving that he actually wasn't all that bad like she had been led to believe.
However Robin found herself unable to tear her eyes away from the cute customer who came in every Saturday, just to order the same thing she orders every time. One single scoop of chocolate, rainbow sprinkles with a cherry on top.
Robin watched on from behind the crack in the serving window as the girl's eyes sparkled, and her smile beamed. No doubt laughing at Steve's attempt at flirtatious banter.
Not that she’d ever tell him, but Robin was jealous of Steve. Jealous of the way the girl's eyes lit up when she looked at him, jealous of the way she laughed at every single one of his stupid jokes. How Steve seemed so effortlessly cool and calm, almost suave, around the girl that made Robin’s heart race annoyed her to no end.
Tumblr media
“Hey Steve!” you cheer as you skip into Scoops ahoy on a hot Saturday afternoon. It was oddly quiet in the parlour today, save for a few people sitting in the booths
“Hey y/n! Same as usual?” he chirps back with his boyish smile.
“You know it!”
“Alright then, one scoop of chocolate, rainbow sprinkles and a cherry coming right up.” he smiles as he twirls his ice-cream scooper around with his fingers.
“So..Uh.. Steve, i-is Robin here today?” you ask him, your voice stuttering slightly with nerves.
“When are you just going to bite the bullet and ask her out already?”
“Keep your voice down will ‘ya, Harrington, jeez” you whisper-shout as you shush him, looking around to see if anyone heard him.
“What? So you don’t want to take her out on a date and make out with her then?” he teases, as he hands you your ice-cream.
“I didn’t say that…” you drawl out, as you hand Steve over your money.
“Look, you think she’s cute, she thinks you’re cute, I don’t know what more you’re waiting for?” He softly laughs with a shake of his head.
“Wait…Robin thinks I’m cute? Did she say something to you?” you splutter at this revelation.
“Just leave it with me, alright? Think of me as your wing-man.” Steve says all too confidently.
You eye him slightly, but ultimately decide that trusting him would be in your best interest, especially if it scored you a date with his best friend.
Tumblr media
“I’ve got two tickets to see Footloose, c’mon Rob, don’t you wanna go with me..” Steve pleads down the phone.
Robin rolled her eyes at her friend. She could just see his floppy hair and dumb puppy-dog face in her mind, begging her to go with him.
“You’re actually asking me to go with you to see a musical? Steve, I thought you hated musicals? You told me you hated how unrealistic it was, and that ‘nobody bursts into song like that in real life’.” Robin teases with her impression of Steve.
“Yeah, I know but you love ‘em, besides I’ve heard good things about this one.”
Robin rolled her eyes at her friend, but she’d already made her mind up that she was going to go, Steve was her best friend, and she’d do anything to make him happy.
“Alright, what time is the movie?”
Tumblr media
Robin Strolled up to the movie theatre, where Steve was already waiting for her outside.
“Hey! Robin!” Steve waves. “Over here!”
But as Robin got closer she could see the cute girl from the ice cream parlour.
“Hey look who I bumped into.” Steve smirked.
“Hi, Robin!” you wave cheerfully.
“Hey, yourself!” Robin replies, trying her best to play it cool. “So, what are you here to see?”
“Oh I was just about to buy myself some tickets to see Footloose. Truth be told I have a soft spot for musicals.” you explain.
“Hey, why don’t you just take my ticket?” Steve offers, raising his eyebrows at you. This was his plan all along. He’d told you as much, explaining what was going to happen before he even phoned Robin. He was going to bail at the last minute to give you two some time alone together. It’s not that he didn’t love spending time with Robin, but the way she pined over you was beginning to become unbearable, so Steve took it upon himself, as your wing-man and Robin’s best friend to give you both the push you needed.
Robin looked at her friend like he had two heads. What was he doing leaving her alone with the girl she had been crushing on so badly that she’d barely spoken two whole sentences to her?
“Oh Steve, you don’t have to do that!” you worry, before he assures that it’s no worries at all.
“No, honestly, I insist. Dustin called me up earlier, said he needs me to pick him and the rest of the boys up from their little nerd club.”
“Well if you're absolutely sure” you say as you take the ticket Steve offers you.
“You girls go ahead and have fun without me!” He smiles triumphantly.
Steve goes up to give Robin a hug before leaving, pulling her close enough to whisper in her ear.
“Enjoy your date, Dingus.” Steve whispers, pulling away from the hug with an affectionate smile.
Tumblr media
You and Robin both sit through the movie, a shared bag of hot buttery popcorn sits between you both. Your hands grazing against each other a few times as you both reach for the bag at the same time, with a couple of mumbled apologies whispered to each other in between the music coming from the big screen.
The film draws to a close and you both exit the theatre with match smiles on your faces.
“I-I had a great time hanging out with you today.” Robin mumbles, her eyes looking down at the floor, because if she dared to look you in the eyes she would not be able to speak to you without fumbling over her words.
You tilt her chin up under your fingers, wanting to look at her properly.
You lean in close to her before pressing a soft kiss to her cheek, your lips brushing against her flushed features.
“I had a great time too!” you smile. “Perhaps we can do this again sometime, like a proper date?”
Robin beams at your suggestion, elated that this had gone well enough that you were willing to go on another date with her.
“Yeah, I’d like that. I’d like that a lot, actually.”
Robin was going to have to give Steve the biggest thank you hug ever when she saw him next.
steve doesn’t know how everything went off the rails or why he suddenly has six kids under his wing – seven if you include robin. he used to be king steve, now he’s mom steve to a pack of fifteen-year-old shitheads.
where are their parents? it’s a question steve wishes he has an answer to.
the said shitheads were currently huddled at the corner of family video. it was a monday so they were the only ones keeping him busy. he had to drag the staff room’s television out and let them choose a film from the newly shipped releases after getting blackmailed by dustin.
“farrah fawcett.” dustin mouthed. he was lucky keith was out for a two-week vacation.
steve glared at him like there was no tomorrow — other than the mean blackmailing, it was peaceful. they were quiet, aside from occasional comments and laughter. steve basks it all in.
robin is out back, rewinding tapes, and steve is, yet again, stuck by the counter whilst looking out for the kids because where else will steve be without his children?
the overhead bell rings, signaling a customer, but steve couldn’t even bother to look up as he mindlessly flips through a magazine. he drones aloofly, “hi, welcome to family video. my name is steve and i’ll be helping you find the perfect film for yadda yadda yadda.”
“you think you can help me find a good rom-com, steve?”
his head snaps towards the lovely voice, magazine nearly dropping from his hands as he gapes at the sight of you. hawkins is a small town and you must be a tourist because it would be foolish of him to miss someone as drop-dead gorgeous as you.
“h-hi, my name is uh- harrington. steve. steve harrington.”
“hi, steve harrington,” you smile, a hint of mischief in your sultry voice. you knew who he was, you’ve seen him in the manifold of polaroids robin has. you decide that you want to have some fun.
steve’s knees nearly buckled, chills ran through his bones, and goosebumps rose on his skin. your voice was airy, like a soft breeze alleviating the heat of a feverish man under the scorching sun.
he feels his hands start to get clammy, was it getting hot in here? he lightly tugs at the collar of his god-awful shirt. “what was your question again? i’m sorry, i must have gotten lost in your eyes for a bit.”
you scoff in amusement, ignoring his outdated pick-up line. “rom-coms? do you have any new releases that are worth watching?”
max snickers at the sight of a tomato-red steve, she nudged the others and paused the movie to watch steve instead. it was better than whatever movie lucas picked.
steve directs his attention to the kids and glares at them. he takes a deep breath before turning his gaze back to your expecting one.
“well, if it’s romcoms you’re looking for, we don’t have any good ones yet,” he starts, tilting his head to the side to flash you his ever-charming smile. “but, y’know, i heard that pretty in pink is good.”
robin shuffles out of the back room and grins at the sight of you. she heard steve’s poor flirting attempts and decided to bring out the scoreboard, but when her eyes settled on you, her grin widened even more.
“yeah?” you muse, leaning against the counter. you notice robin’s presence.
steve gulps at the proximity, he wasn’t lying when he said he gets lost in your eyes. “yeah… i can- i can take you to the movies and we can watch it together?”
you hum as if in thought, playing with the charms on your bracelet before you look up at him with a smile. you ask sweetly, “you think i can invite robin to come with?”
robin stifles her laughter.
“rob-” he pauses, eyebrows furrowing in confusion. “robin? buckley? my robin buckley?”
“well, yeah,” you shrug, lips curling into a smirk. “i mean, i don’t think it’ll look good for me if i go out with my girlfriend’s best friend to the movies alone, don’t you think?”
steve’s jaw drops.
the kids burst out laughing.
robin snickers, making her way towards you. “i thought you were staying at home today, baby?”
steve grimaces at the pet name.
“well, i thought i’d visit my best girl,” you smile, leaning into her embrace as she wraps her arms around you. she pulls you in for a kiss.
“-and flirt with her coworker slash best friend?” steve asks bitterly, a small pout on his lips. his glare steers to robin. “and you! you let me go on with it – what is wrong with you, seriously.”
dustin and max cackle at his demise. tears were forming in their eyes from their laughter.
“you were doing the flirting,” robin points out. “she was asking you for movies. you know, like what you’re paid to do?”
steve grumbles, but he isn’t mad or annoyed. he’s actually happy for robin even though he felt cross that she never told him about her cool girlfriend from the city.
“aww, it’s okay, steve,” you coo. “we can still go to the movies. if it helps, i know robin will let you hold my hand if you get lonely.”
he shoots you a sarcastic smile.
“i will, actually,” robin agrees, wrapping her arm around your shoulders. “i know how you cry when the guy and the girl finally get together.”
“okay, you’ve had your fun.” he rolls his eyes, hands resting on his hips as he looks at the giggling children. mom steve mode activated. “and you shitheads, do you want to walk home later?”
robin grins, intertwining her hands with yours. she drags you towards the backroom, sneaking behind steve as he continues to scold them. you hear the faint sounds of the television after a few seconds.
you hop on top of the low shelves in the room, grabbing one of the lone vhs tapes as robin shuts the door. you snort, showing her the tape with wiggling eyebrows. “may the foreskin be with you.”
she pulls a face of disgust as she settles herself in between your legs. “that’s actually so fucking gross, i can’t believe people are into these.”
you laugh. “don’t kink shame, robs. might i remind you that you absolutely love being-”
robin scoffs, pinching your thighs. “you’re being malicious.”
you smile, putting the tape down to wrap your arms around her neck, her own promptly snaking around your waist to pull you just a little bit closer. you pull her into a soft kiss, mumbling in between pecks, “missed you,”
“you know i missed you more,” she says, moving forward to kiss you again, and again, and again. it was an act that she will never get tired of. it was dizzying, the feeling of you, the feeling of your love.
the kiss was heated, lips pressing together like the final piece to complete the puzzle – the feeling of domestic content as you step back to admire your work. it’s bruised and red, a feat of passionate love and adoration.
your hands roam wherever they can, trailing and leaving goosebumps in their wake – an unconscious matter of habit; memorized after spending time after time of lingering touches and ardent intimacy.
you’ve never loved anything more than you loved robin. it was endless, the love you have for her, and you never quite failed to remind her, to show her. it goes on a long way; like going on a trip to find the other side of the rainbow where you’ll find a pot of gold.
but the happiness doesn’t stop at the gold; it’s where fortune leads you.
and it’s infinite because with the gold in your hands, life keeps getting better every waking moment. you’re lucky.
with robin, you are golden.
a soft moan slipped out of your lips as her tongue slipped into yours.
steve makes himself welcome in the room, leaning against the doorframe. “you aren't paid to sneak in your girlfriend and make out with her, you know?”
robin hums, a soft smile gracing her lips. her eyes never wavered from yours. “wish i was,”
you are golden but she will always be your golden girl.
Who knew that relationships could be perfect one second and rocky the next?
You weren’t quite sure when your relationship with Robin started to go downhill. Everything had been absolutely perfect. Sure, you had a shitty job at the local diner, and you were trying to work out how to defer your college acceptance for a year to wait for Robin to graduate, but you had the most amazing girlfriend.
You and Robin had first met when you called into Scoops Ahoy to see Steve, not expecting to see the most beautiful woman you’d ever laid eyes on.
The feeling had been mutual, because between her rambling and you stumbling over your words, you managed to ask her on a date and she had accepted.
That had been over a year ago now.
Now, you were crying in your room trying to work out where things went wrong. You couldn’t pinpoint a specific moment. You’d had your fair share of arguments together, but didn’t every couple?
Everything had begun to build up, and you weren’t sure if it there was any coming back from it.
At this point, you and Robin practically lived together. Your parents were always out of town, courtesy of them working with the Harringtons. So, that meant that the two of you could do whatever the hell you wanted all the time.
Your house was bigger than hers and it was closer to her work, which she loved. And she had said that living with you like this was just ‘practice for the real thing’.
But lately, you were feeling more and more like you lived by yourself.
Robin was coming over less and less, with what had started as her being over most nights, had dwindled down to maybe one or two nights a week if you were lucky.
Your job had been giving you less hours, too, so you noticed her absence more and more.
Like tonight, when you were supposed to be having an afternoon of movies, but she wasn’t there. You had waited two hours on the couch, the food you had cooked growing cold on the coffee table.
You couldn’t even bring yourself to eat.
By the third hour, you had started to cry.
By the fourth, you had gone up to your room.
It wasn’t until the sixth hour that the phone rang. You ignored it once, but it rang again, the shrill noise splitting your eardrums.
You reached over to the phone on your bedside and picked it up. “Hello?”
“Hey, it’s me.” You could barely hear her over the sound of people cheering. “Hey, listen, I’m still at Lucas’s game and the gang are going out afterwards, so I won’t be home tonight.”
Home. That should have made your heart flutter, but instead it filled you with an unbearable sadness that she hadn’t been home for three days.
“Yeah, OK.” You didn’t have it in you to fight about it now.
“What’s wrong?” she asked, and the tears began to form again.
“Nothing,” you managed, palming your nose to try and stop the tears. “I’ll see you later?”
“I have work tomorrow, so probably Thursday?”
You frowned. “You aren’t coming over tomorrow night? I thought—”
The crowd surged from the gym, and she said, “Hey, babe, I’ll talk to you later, yeah? Lucas is off the bench.”
And then came the monotonous beeps to signal she had hung up.
Maybe it was the fact that she hadn’t mentioned that it was Lucas’s game that night. Maybe it was the fact that you weren’t invited to the after-game hang out.
But what stung the most was that she had forgotten you. And it was beginning to feel a lot like she was doing it on purpose.
+
That had been four days ago, and while you had been with Robin these past few days trying to help Eddie Munson, you wouldn’t exactly call it quality time together. There was a weird tension between the two of you. Like waiting for a bomb to go off, and you had no idea why it was even detonated in the first place.
When you had gone with the group to Skull Rock, you had reached for her hand, which she took, but she shook you off as soon as she could.
That had nearly been your breaking point.
Then you had held your hand out to help her into the boat, but she opted to use Steve and Eddie instead.
And when Steve decided to check out the Watergate and then proceeded to get pulled under, Robin had only looked at you once when you said, “No, Robin, please don’t.” And then she fell backwards into the dark water.
At every single opportunity, she chose someone else.
And you knew that it was only a matter of time before she chose someone else to love.
But for right now, you had bigger problems.
Not only were you frantically running after Steve, Eddie, Nancy, and Robin after jumping in headfirst after your girlfriend through a gate to the upside down, but you were desperately trying to hold together what felt like your entire leg.
While trying to help Steve, one of the bats had used its teeth and claws to grip your thigh, and when you finally managed to pull it off, it had felt like it took half of your skin with it.
You pressed your hand further against the gashes. Skull Rock was so close, and when you reached it, you collapsed onto a freestanding stone, leaning against the large boulder.
Steve was hissing in pain when Nancy tied a piece of her shirt around his stomach.
Your head felt light, but you fought through the pain to check on Robin. She seemed fine, she wasn’t limping or gasping in pain. She was rambling to Steve about rabies. That alone had some of the tension easing from your shoulders. She was fine.
“Hey, are you good?” Eddie asked, siding up beside you.
You opened your mouth to answer when you coughed and the pain that shot through your leg made you yelp and press into your thigh harder.
Eddie caught it and moved your hand away to reveal the blood staining your pants and skin. “Holy shit! Guys!”
Your head was spinning at that point, just trying your best not to pass out.
You could faintly hear the others crowding you, but you didn’t care about any of it until Robin kneeled in front of you, her hands on either side of your head, forcing you to look at her.
She was saying something, and you squinted your eyes at her lips. “Are you insane? Why didn’t you tell me?” Her voice was shrill as she tried to move your hands away to see what she could do. “How did this happen?”
“It’s just a scratch,” you mumbled.
“You’re bleeding profusely.”
“I didn’t want to bother you.”
She gripped your hand. “You’re my girlfriend.” The way she said it seemed like that was an answer, but really, it left you with more questions. Ones that your spaced-out mind couldn’t form into complete sentences. “You’re never a bother.” Maybe it was the blood loss combined with the high stress environment, but at that moment, you believed her.
You could also see the way her breath was starting to hitch as she began to hyperventilate. “Hey.” You grabbed her hand and pulled it to your chest, not caring about the blood she painted there. “Feel my heartbeat. I’m OK.”
Her hand was cold, but you held it there, her breaths slowly coming down to normal. But as she came down, you went sky high. Your dizziness became worse, the mind fog taking over.
She slipped off the leaf print shirt she had over her plain shirt and started tearing it, wrapping it around your leg to try and stem the bleeding and hold your ruined flesh together. “Love, you need to lift it for me.”
The pet name falling from her lips had you smiling, despite the pain. You were delirious. “Love,” you murmured, leaning back into the rock face again. “You never call me love anymore.” She pulled the makeshift torniquet tighter and you groaned, leaning forward until you were eye level. “Do you call someone else love instead?”
Her brows furrowed instantly, frown etched deep on her face. “What?”
You hummed, reaching out and playing with a lock of her hair, winding it between your fingers. You felt like you were floating. “I know that you don’t love me anymore. I just…wish I knew what I did.”
The logical, semi-conscious side of your brain was screaming; it was screaming because you knew that you would never have said the words out loud to her under any other circumstances.
When you look back into her eyes, she looked like she was going to cry. “Robin!” you said abruptly. “Don’t cry.” You patted her cheek with your hand as you dropped her hair.
“Hey, Eddie?” she called, ignoring you completely. “Can you help me get her to Nancy’s?”
You couldn’t remember getting to Nancy’s more than the brief flashes of nearly falling over, Eddie and Robin stabilising you.
By the time you reached the Wheeler’s street, you had started to gain your consciousness back. You were walking straight, your arm slung over Eddie’s shoulder to take some of the pressure off your leg. Robin walked just in front of you, making sure you didn’t step on the hive-mind-vines. She hadn’t said anything to you the whole walk.
“Do you have a first aid kit?” Robin asked Nancy as you entered her house.
Nancy directed her to the bathroom and Robin took you from Eddie, depositing you onto the closed toilet seat before spinning to the cabinet and pulling out the box.
She fumbled through it, gathering bandages and an antiseptic.
“Robin?” you called softly, but she didn’t respond. She just gathered the items she’d collected and knelt before you.
“This is going to hurt, and I’m sorry in advance,” she said finally, only briefly glancing at you before undoing the shirt and letting it fall to the ground. You hissed and clenched your jaw, gripping the outside of your leg.
She didn’t give you any time to get ready as she poured the antiseptic on and started wrapping the bandages around your thigh. Tears sprang to your eyes, and you bit your lip so hard you thought it would bleed. Which was just what you needed. More blood loss.
When she was done, she stood up, letting her fingers run over the bandages to ensure they were secure.
The gesture was so tiny, but it had you crying in earnest.
Robin looked at you then. Everything was muted by the darkness, but her eyes still shone in the way you loved, even as they roamed your face. You could feel her winding up to start shooting questions, her leg bouncing as she stood in place.
“What you said earlier…” she started. “What did you mean?”
Even though you had been waiting for this moment for weeks, it still had a pit of dread opening up in your gut. This was it.
“What part?”
“Oh, I don’t know, maybe the part where you said I don’t love you anymore.” The words were icy, and you had only been on the receiving end of them once before.
You didn’t know where to start. You didn’t want to have this conversation.
Robin knew you too well. “Oh, we are definitely hashing this out now,” she said, leaning back against the sink behind her. “What did you mean?”
“It’s nothing.”
“Bullshit.”
You sighed, the pain and frustration building inside you to an astronomical level. “Robin, I’m tired of you forgetting about me. I’m so sick of feeling like you don’t care about me, like our relationship isn’t worth your time.” You swiped at your cheeks. “If you…if you aren’t in love with me anymore, just tell me. Because I can’t keep pretending to be OK with being second.” Your voice broke, and you could only attempt to steel yourself for the oncoming heartbreak.
But Robin didn’t say anything straight away, she fell to her knees between your legs, careful to avoid your thigh. She reached out and placed her hands on either side of your face, just like she always did, just because you liked it.
“Love, where are you getting this from?”
“You’re never home anymore,” you said, trying your best to ignore the way your heart raced being this close to her. “You…you missed our movie marathon, and you didn’t invite me.” It sounded pathetic now that you said it aloud, but Robin brushed her thumbs over your cheekbones.
She had a guilty look on her face. “I’m so sorry I missed our movie marathon, Y/N. I did forget about it with the stupid pep rally and Lucas being all excited. I’m so sorry.”
You caught a glimpse of tears in her eyes as she looked down.
“I didn’t mean to make you feel like that. At all. I was…trying to do it for you,” she admitted.
It was your turn to be confused. “What? Why would I want that?”
She removed her hands from your face, placing them in her lap. “I—I saw the acceptance letter. For college. And your response letter to defer. I know you want to go, and I thought that if I could try and distance myself, maybe you would just do it instead of being held down by me here.”
You couldn’t stop the painful way your heart squeezed. “Robin, I want to defer because I want to wait for you. It’s because I want to wait until you’ve graduated, so that we could make that decision together. You know that I only applied for colleges to please my parents. I don’t feel held down by you, Robin Buckley, I just want to do these milestones with you.”
“I’m sorry,” she whispered, her eyes clouded with tears. “I’m sorry, I—that’s literally the cutest thing anyone has ever said to me. I don’t—”
You cut her off with a kiss, and she melted into it, but pulled away after a second.
“I’m sorry,” she said again, and you kissed her quiet.
“Stop apologising, my love.”
Reader who steals clothes from both Steve and Robin (maybe a poly, maybe just the best of friends) but they always let it happen, neither of them complain! Until one day you notice half your closet missing, and when you go into family video, both members of the himbo and lesbian dynamic are covered head to toe in your stolen clothes
as per the request criteria, they all swap clothing so it's implied that they're relatively similar sized!
--
You find it rather unfair that, out of all of the clothes in your closet, your favorite jeans have gone missing. The ones that you wear every day, the ones that you've nearly worn holes through, the ones that fit you so perfectly they might as well be a second skin. They've got deep pockets and a good waistband, but the ones you'd had to shove on last-minute to get to work on time are too-tight and the pockets are sewn shut to the rest of the fabric.
You're already in a bad mood when you storm through the doors due to the uncomfortable pressure around your waist, and your belongings dangling from your hands instead of tucked safely into your pockets, but your eyes zero in on Robin's pants immediately. She's waiting for you at the door, holding a stack of tapes in one arm as she smirks at your disheveled appearance.
Her pants are your pants.
"Morning, Sunshine," She drawls, that lazy smirk over her face fitting her features like a glove, "Jeans shrink in the wash?"
"The hell- those are mine!" You accuse, jabbing a finger towards her lower half. The jeans fit her just as snugly as they do you, and you see a pen barely visible in the pocket. Your pocket.
"We decided to get you back," She explains, "You take our clothes all the time. It's time we stole yours, too."
"We?" You ask, "Where's Steve?"
"Here." He calls from behind a few shelves down, "Your jacket's really comfy, by the way."
You stalk over to where his voice is coming from and find him snugly fitted into your lush pink zip-up, the hood fleece-lined for cold winters. There's rhinestones on the back that say 'babygirl', and when he peers up at you through his lashes where he's crouching to shelve tapes, he looks the part.
"You rats," You conclude, jaw perpetually agape, "I- I'll give back your clothes, I swear! Just don't stretch out my jacket, Steve." You cast a wary glance down to the zipper that looks like it may spring free from its constraints and smack you in the forehead, "Your boobs are too big.”
rockstar!Robin x reader
(reader is fem)
Tumblr media
summary : Oh to be in a rockstar's arms...
warnings : mentions of smoking, drinking, cocaine, SMUT SMUT SMUTTTT
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
• You were sure you had it all figured out, a nice apartment in New York city with your best friends, a stable job, the perfect new yorker life you've been wanting the minute you stepped out your parents's home...
• until, of course, you stepped into a record store. An album and a band catching your attention.
• Take Back The Night - Hellfire
• It wasn't really the name of the band that caught your attention, there were worse names, it wasn't exactly the genre either. It was the girl standing in the front, all tall and lean. Short blonde hair teased up to the nines and bangs that draped like curtains over her blue eyes. Her arms slung on two of her members, one with long curly hair that looked like Kirk Hammett's curls, and one with much shorter hair.
• One vinyl turns into three, which then shifts to five more of the same record in different colors. You were obsessed with their music, more so on the lead singer.
• You soon learn the names of the band members and their respective roles. Robin Buckley on vocals, Eddie Munson on guitar, Steve Harrington on bass, and Dustin Henderson on drums.
• You find out that you're roommate/best friend, is covering an article on Hellfire. Getting backstage passes and two tickets to some band they're opening for.
• Of course you beg him to give you the other ticket and the extra backstage pass.
• For some odd reason you choose to go for a rather revealing look - Long leather boots, a tight red dress, and a leather jacket over it.
• It wasn't hard to keep your eyes on Robin. Wearing flare jeans, a tank top and her heartshaped glasses - a staple in her clothes.
• After the concert, you follow your best friend backstage and into Hellfire's dressing room.
• She couldn't pull her eyes away from you. How sweet and innocent you looked in your little outfit, an innocence she wanted to ruin.
• "And who's this pretty little thing?"
• She invites you to a party of theirs the minute your friend finishes his interview with them. Of course you say yes.
• The party was crowded, filled with musicians and the like. She liked having you around, making sure you were attached to her at all times.
• She definitely gropes your ass while dancing with you omgomgomgomg
• She didn't take it very well when someone pulls you away from her gaze. Some artist chatting away with you. The way her teeth clenched when a giggle erupted from your lips. She wanted that sound to come out because of her and her only.
• She pulls you into her bedroom, pinning you by the frame of the door.
• "You think you can just smile and act cute around some guy? Don't forget why you're here pretty girl."
• She kissed you powerfully, heat boiling up from your core. You moaned into it, she smirked.
• "Good girl..."
• And as much as you needed her to touch you, she pulls away. Opening the door and walking right out.
• You came home that night, lying to your friend that you had gone to a bar.
• And the days pass by so easily, getting free tickets to every gig, going to parties every single night, gaining sweet make out sessions with Robin anywhere and everywhere she wanted to have you.
• It was the 1970s of course, which meant she kissed you in bathrooms, dressing rooms, and bedrooms.
• The first time she touches you, it's after recording their next studio album, you being propped up against the desk. Hands gripped against the equipment as her fingers worked her magic on you.
• "Such a pretty little princess,"
• It's rushed, it's eager, it's hot, it leaves you satisfied right after.
• Right after that, she lets you stay over her apartment for the night
• Of course the second, and the third, and the fourth time she touches you happens there 👁️👁️
• Her touch is sweet, giving, and fucking needy.
• And the way your eyes glint and the way you beg? Gets her so turned on every time.
• But the moment you actually moan? You're just begging for it by then.
• "All this for me? Such a dirty slut..."
• "What was that honey? Use those pretty little lips of yours f'me..."
• She definitely likes sniffing cocaine on your belly, licking the skin once she's finished.
• She'd get on top of you right after, hips straddled on yours as she kissed you. Pushing her tongue in your mouth, letting the taste land on your tongue.
Fast Times at Family Video
Tumblr media
Pairing: Robin Buckley x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 3,112
Warnings: Brief mention of period typical homophobia (not directed at Robin, this is very fluffy!)
Summary: There's this girl that comes in once a week to rent Fast Times at Ridgemont High. She always peruses the shelves, sometimes grabbing other films, but Fast Times is always in the stack.
In other words, Robin has a crush, Steve plays wingman, and the pretty girl in the fruit themed sundresses might pick up something more than a cheesy high school movie.
Author's Note: Sorry to Vickie, but it had to be done.
Part Two: Lemonheads
Despite it being early March, a sudden heat wave has spread its iron grip over the town of Hawkins, Indiana. The AC inside the Family Video is on its last leg, and both Robin and Steve are counting down the seconds until their shift ends. It's Sunday, and barely any customers have come in. It looks like the video store is gonna be deserted for the rest of the evening. But, Robin is patiently waiting for someone. Someone who always comes in on Sunday, every week like clockwork.
"I think it's going to be kiwi this time." Steve announces from one of the isles, slowly stacking the shelves to kill time.
"What?" She had no idea how long Steve had been talking to her, too preoccupied with staring at the front door. It's only three hours till closing time, so it's too early to be worried she wont show up. But she usually comes in the mornings, her She-Ra thermos in hand. Always tea, never coffee. Robin has spent way too much time trying to read the impossibly small font on the tag each times she comes in. On the rare occasion she makes an afternoon visit, it's usually a can of soda in her hand. Pepsi, never Coke.
"Kiwi, I think she's gonna be in a Kiwi get up this time." He responds for a second time.
"Who are you talking about?" Steve rolls his eyes and lazily walks towards the front desk, clearly fed up with Robin's lack of attention on him.
"As if you don't know, you've been staring at the front door for the past 30 minutes. I think you've blinked only 7 times, you're gonna need eye drops if you keep that up." Robin rolls her eyes, noticing they were dryer than usual. She'd never admit Steve was right though. Suffering with dry eyes it is.
"I have not be staring-"
"Yes you have don't lie. You and I both know that Y/N comes in every Sunday in her fruit salad dress to rent Fast Times at Ridgemont High. You stare at her like a weirdo-"
"Hey!"
"Don't interrupt." Robin huffs, not liking the taste of her own medicine she gave Steve back at Scoops Ahoy. "Anyway, you stare at her like some weirdo and then she comes by to check out, you either A: don't say a word and let this awkward silence drag on or B: you have word vomit and talk the girls ear off."
"What does that have anything to do with Kiwis?" She doesn't give Steve enough credit sometimes, how much he notices. Robin spent most of her youth doing everything within her power to not be too noticed. Popular enough to not be lonely, isolated enough to not draw attention to herself. It's a careful balance that she has crafted over the years, and Steve always manages to throw a wrench into things in her life.
"That's what I'm guessing she's gonna come in with this week. Last week you went on and on over her strawberry sundress, and the week before it was lemon, and before that it was blueberry-"
"Fruit salad dresses. Yes. Got it. Noted." She barks out, cheeks growing uncomfortably red.
"Yea and she always matches it with a necklace-"
"Earrings. She matches the earrings not necklace."
"Earrings, whatever. Quite honestly I don't understand how one person can have so much fruity themed attire... unless-" She knows where this is going, and doesn't like it at all.
"Don't even start Steve." Robin walks to the backroom, not wanting to listen to his theories anymore. Keith left some paperwork they've been procrastinating on. No better time than the present to get it done.
"Maybe she's more into cherries than bananas, or likes both cherries and bananas. I know for a fact she likes cherries, no girl who rents Fast Times at Ridgemont High every week and returns it at 53 minutes and 5 seconds doesn't like cherries!" Steve quickly follows behind Robin, abandoning the front desk all together.
"What are you even talking about Steve? Cherries?"
"It's code Robin. Cherries are boobies"
"Ugh don't say boobies." Robin rolls her eyes, grabbing paperwork from the back and walking towards the front desk. A much needed distraction from Steve.
"But it's true! You like boobies, I like boobies, Y/N likes boobies!"
"Y/N does NOT like boobies Steve. You're out of your mind." Robin is reshuffling the same stack of paper over and over again. Trying to look busy, maybe Steve will drop it now. She can't focus on updating inventory if he's talking her ear off.
"Ugh yea, she does. The pause times don't lie Robin. I don't know why you don't just ask her out." Robin knows he means well, but he just doesn't understand. If it wasn't for that Russian truth serum she never would have told Steve that she was gay, especially after he admitted his crush on her. She was lucky that Steve is such a great guy, because if he were anybody else, she could have been outed to all of Hawkins. Being gay in Indiana is not all sunshine and rainbows, and her life would be living hell if anybody knew. If she asked Y/N out, best case scenario she turns her down gently, and keeps her secret. Worst case, Y/N tells everyone and Robin waltzes into Hawkins High with carpet muncher spray painted over her locker.
There were rumors that Terry Johnson, a senior when Robin was a freshman, was gay. Apparently she was caught with some cashier girl behind the gas station near the outskirts of town. Everyday her locker was covered with sharpie, a variety of slurs and graphic depictions of genitals graffitied the space. She ended up dropping out of school and getting her GED, couldn't handle constantly getting harassed by all the Reaganites of Hawkins. Robin couldn't live with that, she can't take the risk.
"No Steve, I will not ask her out"
“But,”
“Drop it Steve.” She knew he was frustrated with her. To him asking out a girl is no big deal, if she says no then he only has a bruised ego to heal. If Robin asks the wrong girl out, she could have bruises more painful than that.
Steve paced around the store, clearly not wanting to drop the conversation. He sighed and slowly dragged himself behind the front desk, wrapping his arm around Robin's shoulder for comfort.
“Look Robin I’m sorry. I’ll let it go, but can you really blame me? I just want my best friend to be happy that’s all.” Robin leaned against his collar bone, allowing herself to sink into him. Despite all of the trauma from last summer, she couldn’t imagine her life without him. It was nice to have at least one person she didn’t have to hide herself from.
The two stayed like that for a moment, before the chime of the front door bell rang. Steve quickly removed his arm from Robin, but not before the girl at the door saw how close they were. Y/N L/N was standing there, in a short white dress with small cherries patterned throughout. She had large cherry earrings on, and some sparkly clips in her hair. Her pouty lips painted red, and blunt nails manicured with bright green nail polish. She had a contemplative look on her face, eyebrows furrowed and eyes quickly switching focus between Steve and Robin.
"Are you guys busy?" Y/N asked, arms crossed against her chest, she gave a pointed to look to Steve before shifting to a shy smile to Robin.
"Not at all, Welcome to Family Video, my name's Steve. How can I help you today?" The rehearsed lines flowing easily out like muscle memory.
"I'm alright, just looking around for now." Y/N headed to the Comedy section of the store, not so subtly eyeing Steve and Robin together. Once she was out of earshot Steve turned to Robin, a big cheesy smile on his face.
"Y/N likes cherries."
"No shit, she's wearing a cherry dress." Steve was shaking his head, hair flopping around like an over excited golden retriever.
"No, Y/N likes cherries." Steve winked. Robin rolled her eyes, not this again.
"Steve-"
"No listen. Did you see the look on her face? She was jealous!" Robin scoffed, but her heart started to beat a bit faster in her chest.
"If she was jealous, and I'm not saying she was, it was probably about you." She really wished he would just drop it, let her yearn in silence. She didn't want to hope he could be right. Hope was a dangerous thing.
"No Robs. She wasn't jealous of you, she was jealous of me. You didn't see the stink eye she gave me?"
"You're imagining things."
"And you're in denial, smooth sailing the S.S. Robin to Cabo."
"Cabo?" Robin asked, not sure where he was going with this.
"The city in Egypt? You know the Nile River? Denial, The Nile?"
"That's Cairo, dingus" Steve rolled his eyes. Steve scoffed, he graduated from high school already, didn't need a geography lesson. He suddenly jumped over the counter, eyes alight like he was about to charge into battle.
"You know what, I'm gonna prove it to you!" Steve jogged over to where Y/N was, giving Robin a thumbs up as he left.
"Steve! Steve! Shit." He either didn't hear her or just completely ignored Robin's protests. With Steve it could go either way. Robin pretended to reorganize the stack of paper as she looked at Steve talking to Y/N. She couldn't hear what they were talking about, but by Steve's body language she could tell he was laying it on thick. Robin was gonna kill him. She began furiously shuffling the paperwork, not paying attention to her surroundings. She didn't notice that someone had walked to the front of the desk.
"Um, excuse me?" Robin whipped her head up and promptly dropped the stack she was holding. One of the papers slicing into her pointer finger.
"Ow, god I hate paper cuts." Blood started to pool at the top of her finger, pain radiating down the length of it. Robin may have fought inter-dimensional monsters last summer, but paper cuts were her one true enemy.
"Oh no! Are you okay?" Y/N asked in concern, her cherry lips pulled into a frown.
"Me? Oh yea I'm good. Totally fine. It's just a small cut. I don't have like, sickle cell anemia or anything. So I won't like, bleed to death because my blood can't coagulate. My blood coagulates just right. My pediatrician says I have excellent blood pressure." Y/N giggled at Robin's rambling, and she just begged her mouth to just. stop. talking.
"Would you like a bandaid?" Y/N asked, eyes glittering under the fluorescent lights. She was so nice, and pretty, and Robin was just standing there bumbling like a fool.
"Um, yea, if you have one to spare, I guess." Y/N nodded and started searching her wicker bag. Robin saw Steve waving his arms at the corner her eye. She turned her head to look at him to see him mouthing something.
"What?" Robin couldn't understand what he was saying.
"She. Wants. Nothing. To. Do. With. Me." He says, as if that's any indicator that Y/N bats for the same team. His game wasn't as good as it used to be when he wore the title of King Steve.
"So?" Steves eyes were bugging out of his head. Like him and Robin were speaking two different languages.
"Found one! Some cleaning spray too" Y/N cheered and Robin turned back to face her. "May I?" Robin nodded, her mouth deciding to finally listen to her brain and shut up. Y/N smiled and sprayed some disinfectant on the cut, then opened up the bandage to wrap around her finger.
"There you go! All better... Ya know my mom always said that kissing a paper cut makes you heal faster, maybe you can ask your boyfriend to do that?" Robin couldn't understand the look on Y/N's face. Like she was searching for something.
"Boyfriend? Me? Ha! No. No boyfriend for me. Noooope." Y/N smiled then, pleased with her answer.
"So you're not with that Steve guy?" Robin laughed, if she got a dollar for every time someone thought she was dating Steve she could finally afford to buy a new bike.
"No, we're friends. Totally platonic, with a capital P!" Y/N's smile got bigger and Robin was totally not dying a bit inside. Totally.
"Cool um, can you check me out? I mean, check these out. The movies, not me. You know what I mean." Y/N stammered out.
"Yeah, uh can do." Steve was hiding behind a cutout of Molly Ringwald, silently begging Robin to keep the conversation going.
"Fast times?" Robin asked, noticing the movie was on the top of stack as usual.
"Ugh yea it's my favorite I rent it all the time."
"Every Sunday!" Robin blurted out, instantly regretting it. It sounded less creepy in her head.
"What?" Y/N's head tilted to the side, and Robin wished the mind flayer would come back and go all Invasion of the Body Snatchers on her. At least then she might have some cool left in her.
"Ugh, Sunday. You come in every Sunday to rent it. I ugh, noticed it. Um, you never finish it all the way through though. It's always stopped at 53 minutes and 5 seconds when you bring it in. Did you not like the ending? I do that sometimes. With movies. I always stop the Rocky Horror Picture show right before Dr. Frank N. Furter gets shot with the laser gun. He was my favorite character, and there's only so many times you can watch your favorite character die before you get sick of it. Shit, I totally just spoiled the ending for you didn't I!" Robin was drowning, she could feel the pressure in her chest. She was absolutely blowing it. Now Y/N probably thinks she's a loser. She's definitely never coming back to Family Video again.
To Robin's major surprise, Y/N laughed. It wasn't the I'm totally making fun of you right now kind of laugh, it was a genuine laugh, like she thinks Robin is actually funny.
"No worries, I've seen Rocky Horror. Funny enough, I actually play Janet Weiss at the live show every Halloween." Robin was flabbergasted. She's been to that show before, but she didn't recognize her.
"Really? I've seen it, last Halloween actually. I had no clue that was you." Y/N giggled, twirling the strap of her bag around her finger.
"Yea, you probably wouldn't recognize me with the wig and makeup I have to put on. Did you like the performance?" Robin did like the performance. A lot.
"Yea you were excellent! Definitely deserved a Tony for Touch-A Touch-A Touch-A Touch Me." Y/N ducked her head down for a moment, covering her face with her hand. Robin hoped she didn't embarrass her, she really meant it. That performance alone was the highlight of her Halloween, for a number of reasons.
When Y/N looked up again, her smile was gone. A nervous look replacing it on her face, Robin couldn't help but miss it.
"I know this might be weird, but I ugh, was wondering if you wanted to hang out sometime, maybe? Pretty in Pink is showing at the theatre, and I don't know about you but I'm a big fan of Molly Ringwald. I really liked her in Sixteen Candles... almost as much as I like Phoebe Cates..." Y/N wasn't making eye contact now, the graceful twirling of her purse strap replaced with an iron tight grip. Robin was speechless. Holy shit Steve might have actually been right.
The silence was stretching for too long, she knew that. But Robin couldn't move a muscle, her mind racing with all of the possibilities this could lead.
"You know what, um, forget I said anything haha. I think I totally read this wrong..."
"Nope! You didn't! Not at all! She'd love to go! Wouldn't you Robin?" Steve rushed over, knocking over the Molly Ringwald cutout he was hiding behind.
"What?" Robin finally spoke. Her brain deciding to function normally again.
"You. Y/N. Pretty in Pink. Does Friday work for you? Robin has off that day." Steve suggested. She didn't have off that day, but with the amount of times she's had to cover for Steve for his dates, it looks like he's finally paying her back for it.
"Ugh yea, Friday is perfect. Um is that okay with you?" Y/N speaking to Robin now, her pearly smile finally finding its way back.
"Yes! Yes Friday! Friday is great! I um, don't have a car or even a license so I would have to ride my bike there. I don't think it'll rain, if it does I can just bring a jacket or-"
"I can pick you up?" This couldn't be happening. Any second now Robin's alarm was gonna go off and she'd wake up from whatever dream she was in.
"Yea. If it's no trouble..."
"It's no trouble at all! Um, do you have a pen?" Robin raced over to the register, knocking over the pen case that permanently had its place there. She handed Y/N the red marker they used for documenting fees.
"Thank you, may I?" She held out her hand and Robin placed her palm in hers, hoping it wasn't too clammy. Y/N hands were soft, she probably has some fancy hand cream she uses all of the time. No ones hands are naturally that soft. Y/N flipped over Robins wrist and pulled up her sleeve, giving her space to write. Steve grabbed the stack of films Y/N had left, finally cashing her out.
"This is my phone number, I have my own line so you don't have to worry about asking for me. Call me when you get out so I can have your address." She finished the final digit and added a little heart on the end.
"Here are your movies, that'll be $9.50 today." Steve handed Y/N the plastic bag as she searched for her wallet.
"Yea, will do. I'll um- I'll see you on Friday?" Robin stuttered out. Steve handed Y/N her change, and as she walked away she back turned to the two of them, cherry dress twirling around her figure.
"It's a date." The chimes of the front door rang as she walked out, bag in hand and a pep to her step.
"Y/N likes cherries." Steve said, in an i-told-you-so kind of way. Robin laughed, allowing him the win.
"Y/N likes cherries."
A/N 2: If you guys liked this I'll make a part two! As always let me know if you wanna be tagged in any fics. I'm writing for Eddie, Robin, and Steve currently. Will probably add Nancy at some point.
Hey can you write robin x reader where reader is in the news paper team with nancy. And robin is always coming in and skipping classes to see reader. One day she randomly asks to join ( not just for the reader definitely not) and nancy ( readers best friend) cant stand the awkward flirting and obliviousness so she partnered them up for a project but robin as no clue what shes doing! Thanks
Love in print (r.b x fem! reader)
Or, Robin is smitten with you after you interview her for the newspaper club and finds herself writing an advice collum in order to spend more time with you. Thank you for the request, I tweaked it a little I hope that's ok. (4.7k)
(Warnings, making out, mentions of homophobia)
Tumblr media
Robin isn’t sure how exactly she found herself in this position. One minute she was simply a band geek who minded her own business, now she was running an advice collum for the school newspaper.
How she, of all people, was giving the school population advice, dating and otherwise, was beyond her. When Nancy had first given her the job it had been for one reason and one reason only, you. As soon as you had interviewed her for the band, she had been completely smitten.
It was your first time interviewing and it was clear you were wrung out with nerves. Your attempt at a smile was so sweet, your pen tapping back and forth against your notebook with ferocity.
 Your anxiety fueled her own and she began rambling on and on every time you asked a question until you were relaxing enough to genuinely enjoy what she was talking about.
“Tutankhamun's trumpets are the oldest working trumpets in the world though! They were buried for over 3,000 years and they still worked, isn’t that really cool, but then..” She noticed you had stopped writing a long time ago, looking at her instead of the notebook you had been furiously scribbling in earlier to keep up with her rambling.
She knew she talked far too much, especially when she was nervous. She had long lost count of all the times she had been told to be quiet. If there was an awkward silence it was like her mouth had a mind of its own, it just wouldn’t stop running. Anything to fill the quiet so she wouldn’t have to worry about why it was silent in the first place.
“Sorry, I, I should probably shut up, you came to talk to the rest of the band too” Robin murmured.
You shook your head, a genuine smile on your face instead of the nervous one from earlier. “I came to talk to you,” You insisted, “then what happened to the trumpets?”
It took Robin a second to reboot. Your genuine interest in what she was talking about was such a rarity that it made her cheeks flame. Usually when she was in this deep people stopped listening, just waiting until she was finished.
“During the rehearsal for a radio show where they were going to play the trumpets, the silver one broke!”
“What no way! I couldn’t even imagine what I would do if i broke a 3,000-year-old artefact” You giggled, eyes crinkling. “Did they have to cancel the broadcast then?”
Robin shook her head, “They still managed to do it, can you imagine listening to the trumpets over the radio that Egyptians had listened to all those years ago?”
“That must have been really cool,” You say emphatically, tucking your pen behind your ear. “You must be really passionate about the trumpet to know all these facts,”
“Oh…Well, I-” Robin stuttered, caught off guard by this sudden shift in conversation. She could recite facts and stories till the cows came home, but talking about herself was another matter. “I think it’s just natural you pick it up,” Did you think it was weird how much she knew about the trumpet, did you think she was some trumpet freak that slept with it every night?
You shook your head, “You’re not giving yourself enough credit” You insisted “You’re just really smart, I was talking to the flute players and I think I learnt more prepping in the library to talk to you guys than I did from talking to them, you’re the best interview I’ve done by far, it was actually so interesting talking to you I kept forgetting to take notes” You admitted, shifting from one foot to another nervously.
For once Robin was stunned to silence, realising she wasn’t going to talk anymore you started again. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that, they’re totally your friends and I just bad-mouthed them, I’m so sorry, it's just-”
“It’s not that I just- people don’t normally…I’m not used to compliments” from someone so cute.
“Oh,”
Now you must think she has no friends and no confidence, which she supposes isn’t exactly untrue.
“Well you should get used to them Robin Buckley, you’re gonna be going places, I can just tell” You grinned, bouncing on your feet again. Your smile must be infectious because Robin smiled right back, cheeks turning rosy.
“You think so?” Robin asked casually. Like that isn’t someone she’d always dreamed of being told, like you haven’t just given her enough material here that she’s going to spend the rest of her life daydreaming about this moment.
“I know so”
It was then that you cemented yourself as the girl that appears in every one of her dreams and fantasies, She knows she’s going to talk to Steve about you until he’s sick of hearing your name. She’s going to look for you every time she’s in the halls in hopes of seeing your nervous feet bouncing against the linoleum.
It was all a haze as you explained that you’ll be back to take some photos on Friday because since Johnathan left there's only one camera and someone else had stolen it, even though you booked it out. The adorable furrow of your brow is saved in her memory bank for her late-night daydreams.
-
By the time Robin see’s you again she’s learned everything she can about you from Nancy.
You hadn’t had a boyfriend since middle school and insisted that he didn’t count, Andy asked you on a date last year and you rejected him along with seemingly anyone else who tried to ask you out. Nancy was surprisingly loose with the information she shared, offering up far more than Robin had even dared to ask about.
Even though she had gone through a million possible talking points all day, as soon as she saw you, one foot tapping on the floor it all flew right out the window. The camera was looped around your neck and you were fiddling with the buttons, scowling at it in confusion.
“Hey,” Robin greeted, trying to be as casual as possible as she placed her trumpet case on the table and started to put it together.
“Hi” You mumbled, still staring daggers into the camera, “Sorry, I just,” You pressed the buttons a couple of times, “The settings have all been messed up and…I’m so hopeless at this” You murmured, “I asked Johnathon for advice on the phone last night, but it was so much easier when he was here, I have like no idea what I’m doing, god I’m sorry I shouldn’t be complaining.”
“No, it’s ok, I don’t mind, maybe-”
She flinches as you press a button accidentally and she’s blinded by the flash. “Shit, I’m so sorry, are you ok?” You say abandoning the camera and letting it hang from your neck. “Sorry, I’m not normally so… it’s just my first time being in charge of a whole section, it feels like so much pressure. I really don’t want to let Nancy down”
Robin rubs her eyes, trying to reassure you while acting like there aren’t spots appearing in her vision. “I don’t think there's much chance of that, she’s been telling me how great you are all day,”
“Really?”
“Yeah, plus you’re really good at interviewing, I mean, I’ve never been interviewed before, but you made me feel really well interviewed. I mean, just that it was super thorough, but not like an interrogation, trust me I’ve been through one of those and it was awful,” Robin says inching closer and closer. Her mouth once again moved without thinking.
“You’ve been interrogated?” You questioned, finally smiling as you push some hair from your face. “I didn’t realise you were such a trouble maker”
“Oh no, I was innocent,” Robin quickly corrects, “Falsely imprisoned”
“Wow, I didn’t think you could beat your Egyptian trumpet story, but this sounds like it just might.”
Robin blushes, she isn’t sure if you’re making fun of her at first, but the warmth in your eyes makes her think it's the opposite. Still, she knows she can’t actually tell you that story, so she tries to move on. “I could have a look at the camera if you want, my mum has one just like it.”
“If you don’t mind,”
“I don’t mind at all,” Robin grins, moving beside you as you hold out the camera. She has to look over your shoulder, chin slightly brushing against your cheek. She can feel the heat radiating from you, while she fixes the settings for you.
This was probably going to be the last time she would talk to you, once this issue was finished you would go your way and she would go hers. Maybe she could make up some reason to visit Nancy in the club room, see you in passing in the halls.
Only she wants to watch as your nervous smile melts away to a real one, just because of her. She wants to place her hand in yours, feel your palm pressing into her own while you listen to her stories and offer your own up as well.
She takes her time fiddling with the buttons, it didn’t really need much doing anyway, but she isn’t going to let you know that.
She just wishes she had more courage, or that she didn’t have to hide her affection for girls and she could just be herself. Without worrying that asking out the wrong person could ruin her life or at least make her need to move three towns over.
Once she’s finally done she settles the camera down in your hand, ignoring the way you lean away from her touch once she’s finished. “Thank you,” You say, moving your hand to tuck your hair behind your ear, even though it’s already tucked away.
“No problem, I’ve wanted to get more into photography anyway” It’s a complete lie. She isn’t even sure why she says it. She just hopes it will make you stop curling in on yourself, wilting right in front of her eyes from embarrassment.
“Oh really?” You question, brightening up again. “You could always use our darkroom if you need to. We could do with an extra pair of hands if you know anything about developing photos?”
Robin had absolutely no idea how to develop photos in a darkroom. “I would love that!”
While Robin didn’t know much at all about photography, she was going to become an expert if it meant she could spend time with you.
“Great! They’ll love some extra help, I was helping out last week but I tripped over a chair and spilt the developer everywhere, now it’s like every time I need to develop photos no one else is available to help” You laughed.
“Well, I’ll always help!” Robin grinned, loving the way you started to fiddle with your fingers. It was nice to make someone flustered for a change.
She had skipped gym class with a poorly forged note about her period and the male gym teacher immedietly let her go to study hall. Instead she found herself hoping you wanted to see her.
It took her a minute of pacing outside the door to pluck up the courage to walk through the door, a little worried she might immediately be kicked out.
Your smile when she came through the door threatened to spilt your face in half. “You really came!” You exclaimed, abandoning what you were doing and tucking your pen behind your ear. You immediately stand up from the desk you were typing at, Nancy watching with amusement.
It was worth it, it was definitely worth it she thought. Even if she died in the dark room from the fumes she was going to die happy. Never had she been greeted with such excitement.
Nancy smiled knowingly from her place next to you, looking up from what she was doing to raise an eyebrow at Robin, “I didn’t realise you were interested in photography,”
“It’s a recent interest” Robin defended.
“Nance” You scorned, at the same time “Please don’t,”
The two of you looked at each other, both thinking Nancy was referring to you. You picked at your nails as Robin ruffled at her own hair.
“You should get a hurry on if you wanna finish before next period,” Nancy warns, squeezing your wrist in reassurance as you sway on your feet next to her.
Robin glares at the touch, jealous even though she knows she had no right. Especially so when Nancy is very much dating Jonathan. It’s stupid when she knows you so little, she supposes you are on her mind so much it feels like you’re closer than you actually are.
“Right, I’ll lead the way” You offer. Your arm leaves Nancy’s hold and your hand presses gently against Robin's arm instead.  She wishes she had gone for a short sleeve shirt today so she could feel your hand against her skin. She settles for the warmth seeping from your palm instead. She mourns the loss when you let go.
You lead her to the small darkroom, informing her that it will just be the two of you. Her chest warms and so do her cheeks.
You spend an hour in the dark room, giggling together over the chemicals. She taught you how to develop the photos step by step, pretending she hadn’t just absorbed all the information she was telling you hours prior.
Even using her hands at one point to guide your own. It was a move Steve had told her to use during their last shift, she swore it was stupid and she wasn’t going to do it. Yet here she was, rings cold against your own skin as she helped you shake the photo just right to dry it off a little before hanging it up.
Once you had finished the few photos that needed doing for the day, you both started packing up. Moving at a much slower pace than when you had been setting up the equipment.
Your hand brushes against hers as you both grab for the same pair of tongs and it makes you bump your hip into the table and the developer splashes over the sides of the tray. “Sorry…” You mumble, stepping away from her a little.
She wasn’t sure if you were apologising for the contact or for spilling the developer. Either way, she wished you wouldn’t.
Robin found herself skipping gym so often that the coach was concerned about her iron levels. He even pulled her aside to offer to make an appointment with the school nurse for her.  The time spent with you in the darkroom was worth the embarrassment, especially that day.
Robin was wearing a tinted chapstick she had bought specifically because you had been wearing it the week before. She hadn’t meant to buy it, but just before she could even think her hand grabbed it and added it to her basket.
It made your lips look extra kissable, so she just wanted her lips to look the same. No ulterior motive whatsoever.
Every time she used it, she would blush thinking of your lips, wondering if that’s how you would taste. She didn’t think anything could fluster her more until you noticed her putting it on.
“We have the same lip balm,” You stated, pointing to your lips, covered in the same sticky tint. She panicked, thinking you thought she was weird, trying to find some way to explain.  “I wouldn’t have minded sharing,” You say, grinning coyly.
Her brain didn’t work for the entire rest of the day. Behind a timid exterior, you were such a minx. You were always complimenting her any chance you got, barely hiding a smirk at her red cheeks.
It was that day Nancy had approached her, arms crossed and leaning against the table. You had gone to interview Gareth about his local band. You had talked all about it to Robin, you had been Gareth’s lab partner every year since freshman and had a soft spot for him. That was all she heard before her mind drifted off, eyes focused on your lips and nothing else.
Normally you talking about some guy would be enough to make her jealous, but she was still mushy-brained from earlier so she just nodded along to everything you said, missing her chance to offer to tag along.
“We both know you’re not interested in photography, Buckley” Nancy had begun, cutting Robin off before she could even come up with some excuse. “If you’re gonna spend all your time here anyway, might as well do something useful”
So that was how Robin ended up in charge of an advice collum she had no interest in. Nancy told her it would improve the readership to get more of the student body involved, but Robin wasn’t convinced.
Until you had eagerly nodded along, praising Nancy for such a good idea when you came back from your interview.
Every time Robin tried to get out of it she was re-persuaded.
“I’m awful at giving advice” Robin reasoned.
“You helped me” You encouraged. Smiling at her with teeth as you moved some of your papers and pens away from your cluttered desk, “I don’t think I could even cope without you anymore,”
“But..” Robin thought of the small darkroom, the enclosed space leaving no room for anyone other than you and her. She could talk to you in private, without needing to worry about other people.
The advice collum had no photographs, she would have no reason at all to go in there anymore. What if you didn’t even get to spend time together at all any more, she would have to actually write a whole advice section. It didn’t leave much time for staring at your face.
“And you can set up right next to me, it gets pretty lonely writing all by yourself, so we can keep each other company”
All her arguments died on her tongue as she realised what you were doing. Tidying things away and dragging a chair over, so that she could sit right next to you.
She was done for, today was far too much for her to deal with.
Her brain, which had been re-solidifying, abandoned her once again. All she could think of was you. Your sweet smiles, the pen you always tucked behind your ear and then would endearingly forget was there, your shaky hands and jumpy legs.
Even now, despite your confident facade, she could see the nerves in your foot as you tapped it against the floor. You gazed up at her, hoping you hadn’t overstepped by assigning her a place right next to your own.
“That sounds perfect”
So here she was, tapping away on an old typewriter to try and help a mystery freshman whose fiery girlfriend just wouldn’t stop dumping him.
You sat next to her, shoulder brushing her own. No longer so shy with touch, you were often glued to her side. You always sat next to her, writing your articles together. Giving each other advice and spell-checking for each other.
She wished she had an advice collum she could write to.
One day, when she was definitely not trying to impress you by speaking French, ( it totally came up naturally she swears) you look as lovesick as her. Only it’s difficult for her to actually talk to you about it, one wrong move and she could either have a girlfriend or be a bigger social pariah than Eddie Munson.
She’s almost at breaking point today, you’re playing with her rings. She had abandoned them on the table.
They had been irritating her, rubbing against her skin as she tried to type as fast as she could. You had taken that as an opportunity to investigate, scrutinising each one before sliding them on your fingers. You had finished writing a little while ago but were still waiting for her.
You’ve put another one of her rings on your finger, pushing it up and down and up again, twisting it back and forth. “These are really pretty Rob” You compliment, eyes not leaving your hands, twisting them back and forth in the light.
Rob. A little nickname you had recently started using that sent butterflies to her stomach.
“Thanks,” She says, her rhythmic typing stuttering for a second. Did you have any idea what you did to her? How a simple compliment from you made her heart skyrocket. She quickly shakes off the thought, typing even faster so she can get on to the final bit of advice for this week.
She was hoping to finish early so she could somehow segway into going to get some food together. Only she had so many people asking for help this week, Valentine's Day was quickly approaching, so it was taking even longer than usual.
Finally finished with her advice for Basketball Boy, so Robin could finally move on to the last bit of advice.
She looks down at the last bit of paper, you had picked out for her this week, insisting you didn’t have much to do for your article this time and wanting to save her the trouble.
She sighs, seeing another person asking for dating advice. This one is written in a glittering gel pen, they were pretty popular right now, especially the kind that smells like fruits.
She had seen you using one last week, and you had excitedly held it out to her asking her to smell it. She nodded along saying it smelt nice, but really all she could smell was your perfume and it had made her light-headed.
Shaking herself out of her daydreams, she reads over the flowery script.
Dear R,
There’s a girl in my club and she’s all i can think about, I took on a role in my club just to talk to her, back when she didn’t even know I existed. Now we’re friends and I’m terrified of ruining it, please help me, how do I tell her I like her without telling her I like her?
Robin reads over the submission again and again. It’s almost like she wrote it herself.
You rest your head onto Robin’s shoulder, cheek pressing against the sleeve of her shirt. She can feel the warmth of your skin seeping through the fabric. You’re always so warm and Robin is obsessed with it.
January is so cold, she wishes she could bury herself in between your legs, face pressed into your stomach. At least she wants to hold your hand, in fact, she’s pretty sure you’d let her. Friends, do that all the time right? Maybe if she held Nancy's hand first to set a precedence then it wouldn’t need to mean any-
“So…” You mumble, fiddling with her rings again, which are still on your fingers. “What do you think?”
Robin ponders, how could she give this person advice when she was going through the exact same thing and was clueless. “I’m not sure, if he likes her so much then he should just tell her, clearly he never wanted to just be friends”
“Do you think it’s creepy?”
“Do you?” She stutters, of all the weird submission’s you’ve read together, how can the one you think is strange be the one closest to her own situation?
You slump down into your seat and Robin immediately mourns the loss of your touch. “I just…well, the girl has no idea that they’re friends because…you know.”
“I think he should tell her” Robin decides, just because she has to suffer her crushes in silence, doesn’t mean everyone should. “Even if she doesn’t like him, they can still be friends. Look at Steve and me,”
“What if they couldn’t, what if telling them would ruin everything”
“What’s the worst that could happen to him,” Robin reasons, “A bit of embarrassment, maybe he would lose a friend, I think he has more to gain than he has to lose.”
You’re silent for a moment, and then you turn to Robin in your chair. You’ve dumped Robin’s rings and started chipping at your nail polish. A habit that you keep saying you’re going to break, but never do.
“You’re assuming it’s a guy”
“Huh”
“You’re assuming it’s a guy, but look at the writing, look at the glitter gel pen.”
Robin looks down, her thumb rubbing against the sparkly gel pen, the looped cursive is very feminine, but Robin can’t even believe it. Could it really be, could there really be another person like her?
She’s speechless as she takes in the possibility, and then she reads over the letter again.
Robins's heart pounds, she knows she shouldn’t get her hopes up, but it’s already too late. You have this kind of gel pen, even if half the year does too, you have recently made a new friend and you met because of your club. Surely it isn’t completely out of the realm of possibility that it might have been you.
Did you start writing for the entertainment section just to talk to her?
“I think she should tell her,”
“You…You do” You stumble, eyes staring into hers, searching for something.
Robin is pretty sure if you don’t confess to her within the next 30 seconds she going to physically deflate like a balloon. Despite herself, her hopes are sky high. She nods her head eagerly, sure if she speaks her voice will betray her by coming out squeaky.
She’s already biting back her grin before you even start to speak.
“Robs” You start, you sound so quiet and she leans forward in her chair. Both to hear you better and to hopefully give you easier access to her lips. “I…Have you ever read anything by Sappho?”
The breath Robin was holding in came out in a rough exhale. This must be it, it has got to be her. Her legs bounce from trying to hold herself back from throwing herself into your embrace and squealing at the top of her lungs.
She nodded her head again and your eyes lit up like a kid on Christmas, hands darting out to cup her cheeks, bringing more warmth to her heated skin.
“I like you,” She can feel your nerves as your hands shake against her cheeks.
She can’t really believe it. Any of it.
She lurches forward so fast that she almost sends her chair flying. Despite her lack of grace, her kiss is tender. Her hands dwarf your own as she tries to soothe you and your shuddering fingers.
You have the tinted lip balm on today and she greedily hopes it stains her own lips so she has a visual reminder of this moment. She swears she’ll never wipe her lips, eat, drink or do anything that could remove the stain from her lips, even if she dies of dehydration.
Her plan is quickly ruined when you're brought out of your stupor, moving forward with more ferocity than she would ever expect. One hand escapes her hold and clutches the back of her neck, drawing her and her rolling chair forward. You lick greedily at her bottom lip, thighs caging in one of her legs.
Her lips part in shock, your innocent kiss turning into something more. You clutch onto her like you’re terrified of her slipping away. She returns your kiss, one hand squeezing your own, the other moving to cup your cheek.
She brushes her thumb against the apple of your cheek, relishing the soft gasp it gets out of you.
When you part, your eyes flick to hers before quickly looking away. Your shyness returns and it's just as endearing as it was the first time she met you. Despite your embarrassment, you curl one arm around her waist, bringing her as close as you can until your chairs touch.
“I really like you,” You say, timidly, leaving no room for argument.
Robin smiles so hard her cheeks hurt, her brain practically a puddle at her feet.
Maybe Robin was better at giving advice than she thought.
⭐️Radio Star⭐️ (part three)
(Part one) (part four)
Robin was sprawled across the couch, glaring into the tea that Steve had brought her, her feet propped up on the opposite armrest as she looked up at him. “What is this?”
“Tea,” Steve said simply, shrugging and kicking her legs gently out of the way before sitting down. The documentary was on the TV, and this was the first time she had torn her eyes away from it in the last hour.
“This is not tea, Steven.” She muttered, stretching over to place it down on the coffee table.
He rolled his eyes and pushed himself up enough to reach over and grab the cup, some of the liquid running down the side of the mug and onto his hands. It wasn’t hot, because Robin didn’t like hot tea. Or iced tea. She would only drink kind-of-warm tea, which he thought was weird, but never commented on.“You didn’t even drink any, how do you know?”
“Because it’s the stuff from the advent calendar, and that stuff is horrid.” She sat up, which jostled the couch cushions and made more tea spill onto him, and he sighed.
“It’s horrid?”
“Yes, it is horrid.”
Steve took a sip and forced himself to swallow, gagging slightly. “What the fuck is in this.”
“I told you!” Robin shouted, throwing her hands in the air and flopping back down on the couch, which made even more tea spill into Steve’s lap. “Why did you even keep the calendar? It’s October!”
In truth, he had only bought it because it was on sale last year and he thought it might be fun to try, but every bag tasted slightly like licorice and it really was horrid—he just wasn’t going to admit that to Robin, because he hated when she was right. And he was not about to throw away ten dollars of perfectly (disgusting) fine tea bags just because Robin was picky about what she drank.
“If you drank the tea more than it would be gone sooner—“
Robin reached over and took the tea out of his hands, getting up and pausing the documentary before going into the kitchen and, presumably, dumping down the sink.
They watched the rest of the movie in silence, and Steve had to stop her from putting it on again, before going up to change. He had slept in jeans before, and he never wanted to do that again, even if he didn’t have a choice, like the last time. Because honestly? The shorts from his old work uniform would have been more comfortable to sit in the bottom of some creep's dingy basement with, but the two of them hadn’t known that when they had changed into their normal clothes before leaving.
Robin was still laying on the couch, but she looked half-asleep by the time Steve came back, and he considered waking her up to drag her to bed with him, but she probably would have hit him with the pillow if he tried. So he let her stay there, trudging off to bed and trying to find a place to lay that wasn’t covered in Robin’s things—books and her little shark stuffed animals that she insisted he get her for Christmas. And he never argued with Robin when it came to sharks.
Steve dropped onto the bed and huffed, his face pressed into the pillow, his eyes closed and his muscles trying to relax. Sleeping had always been hard, but it got worse—especially when he slept alone. He was seconds away from deciding it was best to squeeze on the very little part of the couch that Robin wasn’t taking up when the doorbell rang, and he shot up, flinching slightly. The strangled noise from the living room let him know that Robin had done that, too.
“It’s okay,” He rushed out, getting up and hating the way his body sagged slightly as he made his way back through the hallway. “It’s just the door. I’ll get it.”
He looked over to Robin, who had pulled the blanket over her head and curled up beneath it, some of her hair peeking out the only indicator that she was actually under there.
He was so fucking tired. If this was their neighbor here to complain about their bushes one more time, he was going to strangle the old woman.
Tumblr media
The entire world was yellow underneath the blanket, which was still dark, but light enough for Robin not to feel panicked. She could hear Steve grumbling to himself as he walked past her, and it took her a moment to calm her breathing.
It was only the doorbell, right? She wasn’t going to die, there was no one out there that wanted to kill her. Again. It was probably just their elderly neighbor coming to tell them that their bushes looked ugly, which honestly? It was kind of rude, but it was fun to see Steve trying and failing to be nice, when he really just wanted to be a bitch to the woman.
Robin liked Ms. Hilda, though, because sometimes when Steve went out by himself (which rarely ever happened) she would come over with food and hang out until Steve got back—and Robin loved the company, even if all Ms. Hilda talked about was how Robin needed to be less dependent on that boy, because she was her own woman and could do her own things.
And that was true. To…some extent. She could do things on her own, it just always kind of felt like the world fell apart without Steve and then she would get panicked,and then she would probably cry because she really hated being alone, and—oh, now she was thinking about this all too much.
“Hey,” Steve said, his words short and clipped, muffled through the fabric of a blanket, and there was a quick ‘hey’ said back at him, the other person sounding out of breath—and Robin knew that voice.
She shot up, the blanket falling off of her and messing up her hair even further. There was Vickie, standing in the doorway, her short red hair swept to the side slightly in the little curls that they were always in, her pale skin flushed and her freckles looking like stars. Robin liked stars. She was wearing a green t-shirt and a long skirt that fell to her ankles—a picnic skirt, Robin thinks it was called—a yellow one with little buttons that went all the way down the front, her black boots a bit muddy at the bottom. She smiled at Robin past Steve—but it wasn’t the crooked little smile that made Robin’s heart flutter—it was a small, guilty one. One that looked sad.
Robin’s face flushed and she practically ran into the bedroom, hearing Steve sigh as she slammed the door behind her and sunk to the floor, her face pressed into her hands. What could Vickie possibly want with her, now? To embarrass her further? In front of Steve? In her own house?
(Well—technically it was Steve’s house. And even then, it was technically his parents house. It wasn’t big like the one he used to live in—the one that Robin had always refused to go inside because it made her feel very, very alone and tiny—this one was small with wooden floors and white peeling paint. His mom and dad had bought it, and continued to pay the bills for it, as an ‘apology’ for not helping look for him when he and Robin had gone missing—even though they had looked appalled at the idea of their son wanting to live in ‘this….thing.’ )
She heard footsteps in the hallway and Steve muttering some kind of apology to Vickie before there was a knock on the door—one that rattled through her fucking spine since she still had her back pressed to it. “Hey, Bobby?”
“Hm?” She choked out, her throat already feeling tight and itchy as her skin crawled and her bones ached. She got like this when she was sad. Steve said it was okay that she felt things with all of her, but she fucking hated it.
“Do you need me to come in?” His voice was gentle and it made her want to sob—so she did. A little bit, her finger tips pressing into her palms and leaving marks, little half-moon shapes that she smoothed over as she sighed wetly.
“No. I’ll be out in a minute, just—just let me change, first.” She sat up and waited until she thought he was back in the living room and grabbed her headphones, shoving them on and taking…probably the deepest breath she’d ever taken in her life—one that made her cough slightly as she cleared her throat and put on her music to just relax for a second (even though she ended up skipping through songs for a good minutes while she slipped on some jeans and a t-shirt—that was probably Steve’s—so that she wouldn’t have to talk to Vickie in a tank-top and her underwear).
Then, when she could hear Steve walking back towards the room—probably to drag her out of the room by her ankles if she wasn’t ready already—she opened the door and he jumped back slightly, squinting slightly as he took in her frazzled appearance.
“Do I look okay?” She whispered, pulling at her hair slightly.
Steve reached over to smooth it down slightly and then paused. “Yeah, good enough. Also stop taking my clothes. That’s my Beatles t-shirt.”
Robin looked down, and sure enough, she was wearing the brown tie-dye with John Lennon’s face in the middle. “It’s not a Beatles t-shirt, Steve, it’s a Beatle t-shirt. Singular. There’s only John.”
Steve huffed and rolled his eyes. “Fuck off and go talk to your girlfriend—”
“—Language. And she’s not my girlfriend—“
“—And I have a shirt with all of them on it, it’s just in the wash!” He called over to her as she walked to the living room, which got him flipped off over her shoulder as she sat down on the couch. Vickie was sitting opposite of her in the armchair, her hands fidgeting with the hem of her skirt, her knees pink and her socks green with little yellow flowers.
“Hey.” She whispered, her eyes watering slightly, and Robin wanted to reach over and touch her, but she didn’t, her hands clenched into fists in a way that she knew was making Vickie think she was mad. She wasn’t.
“I’m so sorry—“ Vickie started to say, at the same time that Robin started, “I’m not mad—“
“Oh,” She whispered, laughing quietly and wiping her eyes. The rim of them went red when she cried, and her nose went all pink-colored, and gods, she was fucking pretty. “Sorry.”
“Don’t—don’t say sorry,” Robin rushed out, her hands reaching over the coffee table before drawing back against her chest quickly. “I—I get it, I really do. I know I’m not the most…date-able person alive, and I’m really not the best person to live with either, I mean, I-I’m surprised Steve hasn’t kicked me out yet—“
“I would never do that, although I have thought about it,” Steve muttered as he stumbled into the kitchen, looking exhausted. Robin rolled her eyes but turned around to face where he had just been standing.
“You can go to bed, Steve, you don’t have to stay up for me.”
All she got was a mumbled, “I’ll be fine, Robs.” In response.
“Anyways, as I was saying—“ She started as she turned back around to face Vickie, but she was cut off when Vickie grabbed her face and pressed her lips against hers, putting most of her weight against Robin. And oh shit—when had she gotten up? Where was she supposed to put her hands? Was she supposed to kiss back? How was she supposed to kiss back?
All of those questions were short lived when Vickie pulled away, her nose even more flushed. It wasn’t the best kiss, because Vickie was crying, so it was kind of wet and tasted like tears, but holy fuck, Robin wanted to do it again. With less tears this time.
“I—“ she tried to speak, but Vickie only squished her cheeks in her palms lightly and kissed her again.
“No—you don’t get to say that stuff about yourself.” She whispered, eyes searching over Robin’s face in such a caring way that made her insides twist into knots and her organs want to explode. “You…I…I really don’t know what to say right now…”
“That’s…you were apologizing for something…? Before I interrupted…?” Robin whispered, hooking her arms around Vickie’s waist, and it felt normal enough, plus Vickie didn’t pull away, so maybe that’s what she was supposed to do with her hands?
“Oh. Oh, right! I—I’m sorry I missed out date, I really didn’t mean to stand you, up—“
“—I know—“
“—but I volunteer at a food donation place, and they needed more people to come in and help sort the produce, and I—they called me this morning, so I came in, and I totally forgot to call you and tell you about it! And I swear, the organizations who donate wait until some of the food starts to go bad to send it in, which is so screwed, I mean—we could hardly use any of it!” She paused and took a slow breath, sighing. “Sorry, I’m rambling, aren’t I?”
“Only a little bit, but it’s okay.” Robin whispered, sounding out of breath even though she wasn’t the one who had been talking.
“But I—I think…I think I might be falling in love with you.” Vickie laughed slightly when she said it, but she looked serious enough.
Robin felt her heart stop, and she tightened her hold on Vickie’s waist, if only slightly. She could tell that Vickie noticed, though, in the way that she moved just a bit closer, which made Robin whisper out a small, “Really…?”
Vickie nodded. “Really. Really really, Robin.”
Robin tried to speak, but she felt like dying. She wanted to peel off her skin, crawl back under the blanket, and let her bones just rot. After a few moments of watching Vickie’s lips, she started to whisper, “I think I might—“
Before she was cut off by fucking Steve, coming out of the kitchen. “Hey, Robs, I’m going to head off to—“
“Steve!” She hissed, turning around and glaring at him, and when Steve noticed how Vickie was practically in Robin’s lap, his face went bright red and he cleared his throat.
“Shit, uh…sorry, sorry. Carry on…whatever you’re doing.” He cringed slightly and looked them over before walking down the hallway.
Once Robin heard the door close, she looked back at Vickie. “I’m not…I don’t kiss a lot, so…”
“I could show you?” Vickie rushed out, looking down at Robin’s lips, her hands slipping from the sides of her face to her shoulders. “I have—I’ve done it before.”
Robin nodded and stood up, bumping into Vickie slightly and taking her hand. Fuck, her hands were sweaty. Was Vickie weirded out by that? She didn’t seem to be. “We have a guest room? It’s more comfortable than the couch.”
“Mhm. That, uh…that sounds nice.”
Tumblr media
Fuck, why did she put on jeans? Of all pants? Steve’s t-shirt was off and kicked to the edge of the bed, and her hands were fumbling with the button. These jeans were…probably a bit tight on her, but she hadn’t thrown them out yet because then Steve would have taken her to get new ones, and she really hated going to the store. No—her and Vickie were about to have sex (if she was reading this whole thing correctly) why was she thinking about that right now? She just needed to focus on getting her fucking pants off, and—
“Robin?” Vickie’s lips moved off of hers for a moment, just far enough away to say something, and Robin practically gasped for air, pressing her forehead to Vickie’s shoulder. Vickie’s bra was slipping off, and for a moment Robin felt guilty for staring, but wasn’t that the point of getting undressed like this? To admire the other person?
“Hm?”
“Do you need help?”
“I, uh…no, no, I’ve got this.” She muttered, finally undoing the button and pushing the jeans past her hips before tossing them somewhere near the door.
Vickie’s eyes glanced down slightly, and Robin felt her face flush, shifting uncomfortably. “I…”
“You…you know we don’t have to do this, right? We can just…we can just kiss.” Vickie sounded slightly guilty when she said it, but there was a faint trace of disappointment in her eyes as she looked back up and kissed Robin’s shoulder.
Robin shivered slightly and wrapped her arms around Vickie’s waist. “N-no, no. We can, if you want. It’s fine.”
Vickie looked at her for a moment—like, really looked at her—and it was really cute the way her eyes scrunched at the corners when she thought. “Are you sure?”
“Yeah, I’m…I’m sure.”
Tumblr media
Robin woke up that morning with her face pressed into the pillow, someone else’s leg over her’s, and almost all of her clothes gone. Her bra was slipping down her shoulders, almost completely off, and her underwear was…somewhere. She sat up and gently moved Vickie’s leg off of her before getting up and putting some clothes on—grabbing Steve’s t-shirt from the floor and muttering, “Sorry you had to see all that, John.”
Steve was in the living room, sat on the couch and drinking tea. He kept making a face every time he took a sip. Robin still didn’t understand why he kept the calendar. He could have just thrown it out.
“Morning.” She muttered, tossing Steve’s shirt to him as she plopped down in the armchair. Was she supposed to wait for Vickie to wake up, too?
Steve fake-gagged and threw the shirt back at her. “I’m not touching that thing until you wash it.”
“We didn’t even do anything—“
“The walls are thin, Robin, I heard everything—“
“—plus you’ve offended John.”
Steve nearly spit out his tea, which didn’t really mean anything because the tea was fucking gross. “I’m sorry?”
“No, don’t say it to me, say it to John.” Robin muttered as she picked up the t-shirt off the floor from where it sat at her feet.
“I am not apologizing to a John Lennon t-shirt.”
“Steve.”
“What?”
She tossed the t-shirt back to him, and it hit him in the face. “Fucking apologize to the John Lennon t-shirt.”
Steve held the t-shirt at arm's length and frowned. “This is so fucking stupid. I’m sorry.”
She smiled and stood up, taking the t-shirt back from him and going to put it in the wash. Everything felt…weird, now, but she wasn’t sure if it was in a good way or not. She just couldn’t wait for Vickie to get up so that she could change the sheets and stop worrying about it.
