Vee doesn't understand Shelly's feelings initially because she's a robot and the capacity for understanding others' emotions isn't in her programming, but thanks to Shelly's persistance and huge heart she slowly teaches Vee what it feels like to love and be loved!

Shelly supports Vee both in-game and in-universe, by showing her the joys of emotion and love and care! They just haven't reached that point in their relationship yet! Vee's still cold towards Shelly because she doesn't understand that Shelly's in love with her yet!

okay its no secret i dont buy into marazhai being the persona he puts on. so as i've officially met him in game now, im making a list of all the in-game reasons i think he's a bit of an idiot [which i love btw. i find him far more compelling if he's a bit stupid/weird and he's trying so hard not to be but you just know nobody in commorragh is inviting him to parties]

the very first time you get a glance of him on a rooftop and. 'deal with this' "of course" proceeds to just walk off like 3 seconds after the other two

ambushes you. has you cornered. is in optimal position to kick your ass frankly, high ground and better weapons and utilising shock against you. ...he bitches at you for a while, gets insulted, then runs off into the forest with a maniacal cackle

heinrix fired a mild insult [considering what he's like to everyone else its barely an insult] and he took big enough issue with it to start saying how he'll break him and turn him into a pet. oh sure dude you're responding super well to this mild comment from the guy who accidentally insults everyone and their entire ancestral line at some point

i think it says something that he's learned to speak your language fluently too. that Has to be some kind of Yikes moment to admit publicly in drukhari culture. buried family secret great great grandfather drukhari-georg learned to speak mon keigh and now we claim he just spoke oddly because was shot in the head as a child to prevent the shame

he also knows the mon keigh lore that says youre a super special little guy as rogue trader and actually LISTENS to the fact you're the special little guy as rogue trader. and he does treat you as more equal/with more respect than the other characters. thats not just a drukhari culture yikes thats what gets you checked for a concussion or brain damage

literally socially atrocious enough its believed he's working with you [read: with you. not using you, not manipulating, cooperating. this is a big difference i feel] and only he himself doesnt believe it

ignore the fact he eventually DOES work with you which. is its own follow up statement

challenges you to fight him, to give chase then and there. i made him wait while i went through english government simulator where i queued for multiple days, did multiple day/week voidship trips back and forth, got distracted by accidentally starting jae's romance, pasqal telling me to servitorise her, getting blackout drunk with her, shipwide broadcast tm, giving her a voidship, her getting me a space cat, attacked by pirates, dealt with a plague, explored a few extra systems.......................

he destroys your palace. ...its rebuilt effectively within a week. most of the damage is in bodies which are just sent to the poor district to rot [almost feels worse than the damage done good job imperium]

the throne has claw marks. he could've blown it up or shot it or piled corpses on it but no he wanted to sit on the fancy chair and so turned into a common housecat mauling the sofa arm

how long was he just sitting there lounging on that chair? again see how long i kept him waiting. he was just sitting there trying to find a comfy position on this [for him] kinda small chair JUST so he could briefly taunt, break your window with his space motorbike, jump off the chair in a dramatic [but not gunna lie not that impressive] feat of gymnastics, then fly out. he doesnt even shoot at you as he leaves

last semester our class had to do a project where we'd pitch a comic featuring a splashpage and 2 following pages. considering its a class full of gay teens a lot of us took the opportunity to base it on ocs! anyways one thing led to another and now i have a human oc

I watched the wild robot and nearly cried. I never thought I’d connect so much with a freaking duck but I did and I spent the whole movie yelling at the screen that I’d eat every single animal that was mean to him. It got real intense when we met the flock…

I really thought tho that the main conflict was gonna be a human. I thought a human was gonna wash up on the island and create this tear between Roz’s found family and her original purpose which is to help HUMANS.

and I am all for that for some fic or something. Cause like imagine nearly dying at sea, getting washed ashore to this island with no civilization in sight and you probably have zero tools or knowledge to help you survive. You spend days or weeks barely getting by, your dehydrated, starved, afraid, and thinking this is how you die when all of a sudden a goddamn robot comes in following a duck and a fox.

your saved. The rozzum takes you to a shelter it built, patches you up, feeds you and for the first time in weeks you sleep knowing you’re safe. You are going home. It will send out a retrieval signal and you’ll both be picked up and—but wait. It says not yet. It still has to complete its first task. It has to teach a duck how to fly…oh, scratch that, it has to teach its son to fly…

and no matter how much you try it won’t disregard its first task. It says no! To you! A rozzum says no to a human!! Its priority is the the damn duck…the duck is more important than you. More important than you getting off the island. More important than you going home, to your family and friends—who think you’re dead now because of the storm that wrecked your ship and killed everyone else!! That left you alone and scared for weeks in the ocean and wilderness!!

…you just wanna go home. That duck, brightbill, better learn fast or else it won’t be the winter that gets him.

I think my biggest gripe(not really a gripe just like an area of interest tbh) with the Murderbot Diaries is that it doesn't really focus on the bots enough. In the MBD universe, there are basically 3 different varieties of sapience. You got the humans/altered humans(organic and organic with mechanics), bots (mechanical) or constructs (organic and mechanical combo). The series has Murderbot, a construct, be out pov character, and them being a combo of both bot and human parts gives the perspective (and isolation) from the two main groups. We spend a lot of time with humans, which is fair, they are the reason bots and constructs exist in the state the do and are the dominant force in their society. But I wanna know more about bot culture. MB’s interactions with only bot culture has been relatively limited, the only time they were around a mainly bot group was with the loader bots on Perseverance. Perseverance, while much more progressive on bots/construct freedoms is still limited because bots/constructs must still have a guardian human to preside over them(i know they were trying to make a change to that rule but it isn't really expanded on if it changed or not). Now I do feel like the universe has shown how bots having rather diverse and interesting perspectives and lives, from ART who is so above other humans and bots it is kind of isolated from other bots of its kind, to Miki who seemed to have a human family and was not familiar with other bots. 

I really like how MBD handles sentience, from our perspective as the readers and parsing through MB’s pov, we know that bots,constructs and humans are all sentient beings, however how they view the world differently. And for a narrative about what it means to be “human”, that is neat. I think that's an interesting answer to the continuous sci fi dilemma of “can a robot be sentient”. The answer is yes, it's just gonna be different than a human's view of the world, and their roles and wants/needs will be different and that's ok. Bots in the MBD universe are in such a precarious position, with their sentience consistently in limbo and always able to have their agency taken away. It's such a sad and demeaning position that they are in with the current CR control and human dominated society that will always have the final say over how bots can operate. I would like to see more of the bot side. Maybe like an exploration of more bot experiences in the future. Like how are other rogue bots out there doing? Are there like little robot enclaves or societies outside of the human dominance we have seen them under? I guess I wanna see a story about that and how MB would feel about it, to be not just free from their oppressive systems of the CR, but also in a space that doesn't have humans. How would it be similar and/or different to living in a human dominated society? How as a construct would they fit in or stick out?

people need to get really freaky with transformers sex, pregnancy and birth. and child-raising also. most of the time when i see transformers pregnancy it's all too similar to human pregnancy. and there's nothing really wrong with it, mind you, i'm into it, but i just feel like its not fair. i mean, the writers were so determined to make sure transformers are incapable of having sex and birthing babies that they created the most fucked up and inconsistent canon system of reproduction in the world. us transformers sex believers need to get fucked up with it too. on purpose

Ah Polaris.. A pretty good spy for the autobots, though sometimes a little reckless. Most of the time, he has good intentions. Unfortunately, he does randomly disappear to spy on a Decepticon or suspected one without saying anything.

He's been missing for awhile though..

I am not a robot 🤖 I am human and happy to be alive even if the world is shrouded in darkness and looks super ugly right now but there is still a light within my heart and I refuse to give up faith and I refuse to give up hope. I still believe in human kindness. The media doesn't show it so we have to show it. We cannot depend on any govt to care about our wellbeing. We need our own communities to care for each other, neighbors helping neighbors. That's it. Human endeavors are not all evil, there are still good people trying to make a difference, they don't yell or make a scene they quietly move amongst us as hidden angels in human form.

I've made my sona an android who's an artist of sorts, which feels a bit ironic considering how much I blatantly hate AI art lmao

but just know that my beliefs are basically this:

android/robot characters are rly cool and are fun to draw and design, as well as explore in terms of characterization and conflict when it comes to emotions, relationships with humans, etc. and it provides an interesting way to break down humanity from an outsider's perspective

however

generative AI sucks ass and should be exploded to smithereens

... so yeah

I'm a big fan of robot characters in media but I'm not a fan of generative AI that steals from artists and stuff

now a dnd party with a strong bond and synergy is great and all and i'm confident that my party will get there but as of right now only about 5-6 sessions in we've had multiple shouting fights, countless threats, and one instance of pvp. now. i hope this changes. me and one guy are sort of working to fix that. but it's so fun don't discount the joys of you and your friends pretending to hate each other
