Latino Jewish culture is looking forward to January because the Roscón de Reyes is delicious.

And then not knowing what to do with the tiny plastic baby (or ceramic figurine) that's inside.

Or maybe it's just me.

✿ ロスコン・デ・レジェス | Roscon de Reyes ・スペインのクリスマスのお菓子。「王様のケーキ」と訳されているスペインの甘いパン。ドーナツ型の生地に砂糖漬けしたフルーツやナッツが散りばめられたケーキで、1月6日の公現祭(3名の賢者がキリストの誕生を祝福した日)に食されます。ケーキの中には陶器の人形や豆が入っており、前者は幸運が訪れ、後者はロスコンの代金を支払わなければならないルールがあるそう。

El Roscón de Nochebuena

Muy de mañana decidí

hacer un rico Roscón,

para la Nochebuena celebrar

y a mi familia agradar

En la cocina me metí

y los ingredientes busqué

Afanosa me dispuse

a mezclarlos con esmero,

Amasada, creció la masa.

Con cariño le di forma

y en el horno se doró.

Frutas escarchadas puse por encima

Al final, un tarro saqué,

su contenido con un poquito de agua mezclé,

y por encima del Roscón lo eché

Muy orgullosa me sentí

del resultado final,

cuando de repente advertí,

qué no era azúcar sino sal,

lo que con tanto esmero

por encima del Roscón esparcí

Intenté arreglarlo,

pero sólo sirvió

para que todos los años recordemos,

con risas y complicidad,

aquel famoso Roscón salado

qué con tanto esmero

yo había preparado

There is nothing better to celebrate 𝐄𝐩𝐢𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐲 than with a good breakfast like a king like 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗺 prepares for 𝗘𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗲 (only the king cake would be missing) 🍩🍴🥣💞

Today is the last day of 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐬 and I always have mixed feelings, I try to enjoy it as much as possible but I also feel sad 🥺💖

But well, the good thing about this year is that next Monday 𝗧𝗼𝗺 will resume 𝑽𝒆𝒏𝒐𝒎 3 filming and we are supposed to see him 🙏🏻💓

Hoy es el último día de 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐝 y siempre tengo sentimientos encontrados, intento disfrutarlo al máximo pero siento también pena 🥺💖

Pero bueno, lo bueno de este año es que el lunes 𝗧𝗼𝗺 reanudará el rodaje de 𝑽𝒆𝒏𝒐𝒎 3 y se supone que le veremos 🙏🏻💓

3 kings eve? What's that?

Like Christmas's Eve but here in Spain- tomorrow is when people here usually get the presents instead of for Christmas!

We also get special cakes called Roscón de Reyes. They have a small figure inside of one of the Three Wise Men- whoever gets that figure gets to wear the crown, if someone finds the bean gets to pay the Roscón next year instead.

And today in Three King's Eve we get to see a parade before dinner.

It obviously has Christian origin because it follows the day in which the Three Wise Men got to see baby Jesus for the first time. I'm not even religious, but we celebrate these anyway LMAO

I always get the figurine in the Three Kings' Cake (roscón de reyes), literally every year on January 6th I cut a piece of cake for myself and I find the hidden figurine!

Oh and if there's a typo in a book, be sure that I will find it... and have a giggle about it xD

Spain.

10. What are your hobbies?

Reading, playing music, playing videogames.

A baby bird whom I love very dearly :)
