When I get bored I pull this beast out of the closet and add another roll

(my mum is holding the blanket lol)

i really, really like what’s in my bag/what’s on my bedside table/dresser type videos, on tiktok. they’re so fun and cute and i like being nosy. anyways i wanted to play so here’s what’s on my bedside table—the curated edition, bc there’s actually a lot of other shit on there LMAO (a bowl of crystals, pillow spray, silk roses, a ceramic ring stand, sailor moon teacups etc etc etc). the perfumes don’t live there permanently they’ve just moved in for the winter. the jewellery and the hairclips and the dolls do, but i might move the sunny angel to my bookshelf. my little statue of mary does, altho i am not catholic; i found her years and years ago all dusty and sad in an op shop and couldn’t leave her behind. 🥺 now she soaks up the morning sunlight and stands next to the aforementioned silk roses like she’s in a little garden. 😌

so we had a lot of student departures yesterday (summer term just ended) and good LORD the fucking state of some of these accommodations y’all. opening up a fridge and finding ROTTING MEAT?? people leaving behind louis vuitton bags while simultaneously not taking a SINGLE item out their kitchen leaving the staff to spend two hours throwing away every. single. plate and pot covered in unknown sticky substances and MOLD. my uni literally has a cleaning team that comes into flat kitchens every two weeks to disinfect surfaces/floors/etc to make sure students are keeping themselves safe. the Only Real expectation we have of students is for them to wash their dishes and not live in fifth, and if they’re struggling, they can tell the team and we will Help Them.

absolutely insane how some students were living in the most expensive dorms on campus while making the shared living space active biohazard zones. leaving behind Every possession in their kitchen upon moving out. there’s a cleaning fee for rooms like these but some rich students just don’t give a shit. how well-off you gotta be to not blink at leaving behind knives and a wok and a dozen pots and pans and plates (all unwashed in weeks, if the substances growing on them are any indication), SO MUCH expired food taking up fridge space, and then look at the cleaning fee for leaving a space in this state and go “oh that’s fine lol”.

In one of the weirdest experiences of my life, I went outside without realising how windy it was and promptly got my ass kicked by a wheelie bin.

Friends and fam ! Another city, another set of environmental issues means another eco-bag. With this project, I have been very fortunate to collaborate with Wan Squad PNG in partnership with Surfing Association of Papua New Guinea and research help from Sub Pacific. Together we have created an eco-bag to promote sustainability and recycling in our home country. The goal is to develop behavioural change in Papua New Guinea, one city at a time starting here in Port Moresby. We have the privilege to live in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world, and unfortunately our people sometimes lose sight of this, choosing to throw their garbage in our streets, in our parks and in our oceans. We’re hoping with this project to encourage our community to use these eco-bags to hold their trash until they are able to dispose of properly in an appropriate rubbish bin.

We are selling the eco-bags for K60 / AUD$25 each and all proceeds will go to SAPNG to assist with developing the surf club and their Pink Nose Revolution. realising that obsession may honestly be my biggest problem.

i mean. i actually realised this years ago while reading a book abt adhd. and it dawned on me that i dont actually lack focus at all, i just obsess over things im anxious about so much that the thoughts interrupt me constantly so i cant stay on topic. but i had to let it percolate in my head until i could start to face this problem.

like... my problem atm is that i Cannot Function, i cant do anything except a) play this one game from the 90s that i tend to get drawn into at times like these and b) abuse drugs. like.. ive been managing to show up to work, shockingly, but uni has 100% fallen off the bandwagon, the painting i desperately wanted to make for my uncle's wedding this sunday is not even started, my relationships are ignored, not showing up to appointments, etc. because all the time, all i can do is play game and abuse drug.

i'm obsessed with these two things because i'm obsessed with everything i'm afraid of rn and the only thing i know how to do is replace obsession with obsession. likewise.. my housemate is sick with covid. he's been so incredibly helpful lately, taking over all the household chores, walking my dog, feeding me, etc while i've been working cause i don't have energy for anything else. he also cleaned up vomit, like a lot of vomit, incl washing my clothes, blankets and soft toys while i passed out (from drugs) bc i fucking projectile vomited over everything after driving myself to exhaustion.

so, now he's sick, and he's not upset with me at all for being physically fine and still unable to clean up at all or take my own dog for a walk or cook food or anything. which i don't deserve, because i'm sitting here, after making things significantly worse by making shortbread jam biscuits instead of cleaning the kitchen (so now there's more dishes and also mess on surfaces) (i did this because i needed to replace the obsession with not doing enough, by doing something nice for him that i felt i could manage because lately i'm obsessed with baking)
