I feel like so much of modern queer writing is so focused on the portrayal of sex being either “something we don’t Need/is Private for the Privacy of Our Fictional Characters” (aka “author doesn’t know how to write Sex but admits it’s thematically important to the story) or “There is no other character motivation besides Sex” (aka “author devolves into an unnecessary essay describing curves and beauty of Cocks Thrusting etc….”)
Which is why I really admire Ryan O’Connell’s writing? This man is not afraid to open a book with a queer man with cerebral palsy saying-
It’s such an casually objective view of queer sexuality that doesn’t really provide much opportunity demonization surrounding the notion of sex. It’s Appreciated.
