I know the OT will always be the GOAT for the fandom compared to Andromeda in almost every regard, but the development of the side characters and romances in Andromeda were such a huge step up for what I hoped to see for a starting game.

For me, it felt more natural to bond with Drack, Vetra and Peebee in and outside of the Tempest, over the constantly serious atmosphere on the Normandy in the OT, and the interactions with them were a good follow-up from what was laid out on ME3.

Especially Vetra. What I felt with her character is something I just couldn't feel with another character in ME1 and ME2. And her romance arc, considering what happens for only one game, is my favorite of the entire series.

Tho tbh I wasn't exactly sure what clothes they should have (and I need more exposure to Turian clothes), one thing was sure, I wanted my Ryder (Zoey) and Vetra to have something kinda matching, so checkered jackets it is

Just for the sake of posterity... I've completed Scott and Jaal's romance, we beat the Archon, Meridian is settled and I've got almost 580 hours in on this game! And we saved Captain Dunn while we were at it because, in this house, we love and respect Captain Nozomi Dunn and we take the time, even when we're doing a straight up romance run, to recruit all 3 Pathfinders so that Captain Dunn doesn't die at the end! *nodnods very firmly*

Seriously, it takes less time to skip the Turian and Asari Pathfinder missions (you'll get the Salarian Pathfinder no matter what) but without all 3, Captain Dunn will die when the Hyperion crashes and that makes me feel AWFUL. I already feel bad because I've spent the whole game dodging the side quests she keeps trying to give me, lol!

Anyway, I'm gearing up to play as Sara again after a lonnnnng span of playing as Scott. And, since the People Have Spoken™️😂 I'll be playing as my original red haired Sara!

There's no telling who I'll be romancing. IT COULD BE ANYBODY. LITERALLY ANY ONE OF SEVERAL OPTIONS. ANY BODY.

Although, to be fair, I'm really wanting to romance my best Turian girl Vetra again. So I miiiiiight try to resist the charms of Mr. The Charlatan but we'll see how strong I Sara can be, lol! 🤞😣🤞😉

Aww, Vetra is such a sweetie! 💗💗💗I really do love her so much and, since her Loyalty Mission is only necessary if you're advancing her romance AND I haven't romanced her in a long time, I really want to do a playthrough where I complete the mission for her.

And, of course, I need to see if there's a mod to add the (In)famous Andromeduck. Because, you know, reasons.

Heh. Just kidding on that one, of course. But if I don't at least name one of these ducks "Andromeduck," then I'm doing a disservice to my silly nature. 😂😉

Hey, maybe I should get a rubber ducky and name it Andromeduck? It could go with Garrus and/or Shepard!

And I'm expecting my first male!Shep romance to be Tali or Jack. (Playing first as fem!Shep should give me a chance to get to know them all a little more so I can decide who male!Shep will start by romancing but I'm presuming it will be one of them. 😉) And then there are SO MANY others I neeeeeed to romance as both male and female Shep. But I've got to see if I can optimize three games like I've learned to do for Andromeda so it won't take me years and years to get through them all, lol!

Jaal had never known any other time in his life that he had been so terrified, or at the very least, he couldn't think of one now. The time he felt closest to this feeling, on the top of his head, was back at the Archon's flagship.

Yet this was worse. Back at the flagship, S.A.M. had some degree of guarantee that he could bring Scott back. However this time, S.A.M. being forcibly taken was the reason Scott was down once more.

Jaal had checked for a pulse, as he had Liam tell him to do after they'd return to the Tempest with the relic that seemed like such a long time ago.

He felt nothing.

Barely keeping himself from going to hysterics, Jaal stood upright once more and tried contacting the Tempest once more while Drack tried forcing the door open by brute force alone.

"Rrrgh! Open!"

"Tempest, the Pathfinder is down!" Jaal growled into his Omni-tool for the umpteenth time, "Come in!"

Fear was clenching his heart tightly in its fist, and Jaal could hardly breath. He couldn't lose his Taoshay, not to the Kett. Skutt, not to anything.

As if it was an answered prayer, that was the moment they heard a sharp intake of breath and see Scott sitting up. Not even waiting five minutes, he zoned into the console and staggered towards it.

"Ryder! You were dead."

Jaal would've made a comment that stating the obvious wasn't necessary, but he was still reeling in his emotions. He wanted to hug Scott, to kiss him for all he was worth, to cry tears of relief and gratitude that he wasn't forever lost to him. But the Angara had been too stunned to react, and Scott's urgency to keep moving despite just coming back from the dead...

Again.

Ignoring the remark, the Pathfinder leaned heavily against the Console, as if his body was drained of energy once more after Scott took a few steps towards the console.

"The Hyperion's dark, S.A.M. with it..." Scott huffed, "We need to get back."

Understanding the implications of that statement, Jaal looked alarmed. "Wait, wait! That door is Remnant," he emphasized, like Scott needed the reminder. "You need S.A.M."

"We need" Scott strained, yet he sounded more determined than usual. "to get back."
