They clearly love their kids) Baek Hyun-woo (Queen of Tears, nothing wrong with them out of the ordinary and they are in the drama a significant amount.) *Counting her as an orphan even though she gets her parents back after 20 years, she spent her childhood orphaned. ***This character is tricky because I understand why her mother wanted nothing to do with her, but her trying to manipulate the dad and also saying he didn't raise her properly made me so angry. ****This character is tricky because he was explicitly raised as an orphan by his grandma, his father didn't sign his birth certificate (Korean equivalent of this), and he's registered as the child of his grandmother, not his actual mom. His grandma is dead by the beginning of the series and he is living alone without family, so I think he counts as an orphan.

I'm enjoying Yoon Sa Bong as Jang So Woon, the ally of our FL. The episode shows her being savvy instead of just telling us (like the shots of her account ledger, covering during the meeting of the peonies, etc).

And Park Se Hyun as Yeon Seon is interesting as well. Yeon Seon is obviously a servant in Yeo Hwa's house, but she's also a confidante, literate to the point of transcribing (must have good handwriting), running errands at a bookstore, painting at a level to impress nobility, acting as an information gatherer, and being supportive of Yeo Hwa's lifestyle which could most certainly lead to death.

I'm glad we have a balance of female characters playing opposite the in-laws. But as a Kim Mi Kyung fan, I'm hoping for a redemption arc for her.

A second to appreciate Oh Myun Joo (the women in her late 30's - early 40's range in Team 2 of weather forecasting) in episode 4 we get to know she was on her way to become director but married her colleague and because she took 2 maternity leaves that didn't happen and she isn't even getting promoted (yeah because corporate world is like that) and she does nothing but support Ha Kyung as a women who became the youngest director in their department, as a women who almost married her colleague and got cheated on and is the centre of gossip fodder.

In Episode 3 when Ha Kyung was late for the meeting - she takes the initiative to tell the juniors "hey lets help her out and send the summarised" data and i am so emotional over women supporting women.

And it's just the 4th episode.
