Digital Photography Week 1

During this assignment I got to explore different places throughout the city of Philadelphia and enjoyed capturing lives simplicity. What I personally found most challenging was capturing a photo in the dark of the Philadelphia skyline from a far. I tried adjusting the f stop and shutter speed numerous of times, but couldn’t seem to take a bright enough picture. Since I took traditional photography last year I was familiar with the rule of thirds and formal. Lines of movement became more challenging for me since I was new to this particular composition. Although, going into the city helped me find different lines of movement such as streets, buildings, and street art. Sam Horine was my source of inspiration during the first assessment. Horine’s work is based more around city life and nature. It was difficult searching for a photographer who captured objects and nature more then then people. Sam states, I love that the city is in a constant state of change, that it’s never done and always evolving.” I found this. compelling and correlates to my persecutive on the city as well.
