Personal Pronouns in Twst (3/3): Sessha, Watashi, Atashi, Washi, Wa

Idia will often shift to “Boku” when he is uncomfortable (sometimes mid-sentence), but he also uses the pronoun “sessha," often when he is feeling more confident.

"Sessha" was mainly used by samurai but it was adopted by people who identify as otaku several years ago, making it a part of the net-slang that Idia often slips into.

Other otaku-slang habits that Idia has are using the "shi" honorific and saying "degozaru."

Rook uses “Watashi,” which is a polite and gender-neutral pronoun that is appropriate in most non-casual settings.

“Watashi” is maybe the most common form you will hear in places like business settings, when speaking to new people, speaking to a boss or senpai, etc.

"Watashi" is also used by Crowley, Trein, Vil (for his unique magic) and sometimes by Azul.

When not using his unique magic Vil uses “Atashi,” which is generally considered to have a more feminine-sounding tone. It is more casual than “Watashi” and usually doesn’t arise in professional situations.

“Atashi” comes up a lot in dramas, often used by female characters that are being portrayed as assertive or youthful. In present-day it will also appear during rakugo performances.

School-Lilia uses “Washi,” which is generally associated with older men in both casual and more formal situations, and often used in fiction as the pronoun of elderly or authoritative figures, like samurai or old men.

Like “Ore,” the use of “Washi” can vary by region, being more prevalent as a neutral pronoun also used by women in places in Hiroshima and Okayama than it is in Tokyo. 

Epel uses “Wa” when he is speaking in his original dialect. Many of Epel’s verbal mannerisms come from Japan’s Tsugaru dialect, and this is one of them.

It is solidly a gender-neutral pronoun for use in casual situations with friends and family.

(The explanation above is from this website about the Tsugaru dialect, and there are apples in the titles because it is spoken in the northern Tohoku region of Japan and, specifically, Aomori. Which is famous for its apples 👀)

Meeting~~🖤💜 takasugi part 1

Third person p.o.v.

It was midnight and the Kiheitai ship was moored at edo's port.

The giant ship however almost empty,immersed in a dead silence.

The infamous Kiheitai's captain, takasugi shinsuke was leaning against the open window while he smoked as usual.

He had a calm expression on his face,the majority of his crew was sent out to a mission; eliminate those disgusting bakufu members in edo's city.

Suddenly a noise was heard, the door opened to reveal bansai.

Shinsuke turned his head to face him and blowed out smoke from his mouth.

"You are back early,the mission was easy?" He said at the man standing near him.

Bansai seated next to him,facing the window and then he spoked.

"Actually we haven't done any mission degozaru" shinsuke arched an eyebrow at his answer.

"..... someone already did"

"So, some people preceded the kiheitai and menaged to kill all those men......who would they be?maybe katsura's man..." he pondered.

Bansai adjusted his glasses and spoke "it wasn't the joishishi,just one person, a girl actually"

At his words Shinsuke got interested and listened to the man.

"The best part is that she didn't just kill those men,she bring down an entire faction of the Bakufu"

Shinsuke got even more surprised, he even slightly raised his brows.

"That's......impressing,who would she be?"

Bansai smirked a little"I'm surprised you didn't heard of this Shinsuke,she's become the most wanted woman in the entire japan, they call her the death's fairy the shogunate is terrified by her"

"Terrified,really?.......is she that scary?"

Bansai nodded"it's not the first time she did something like this, she already completely destroyed many other faction of the bakufu all over Japan degozaru~~he stopped a second to watch the moon~~they call her like this because nobody ever saw her,and if they did they aren't alive to Tell us what she look like......"

"Mysterious......just like a fairy"Shinsuke softly spoked

"And you don't even know the most interesting part~~bansai lightly chuckled~~ before her attacks she always warns the police by sending them messages with the location and the time......too bad they only just catch a glimpse,they didn't even menaged to stop her once "

Shinsuke lowly chuckled " it's like she's just toying with them........what a daring woman"

Days were passing and the so called death's fairy continued terrorizing the bakufu, the television, the newspapers, the whole japan talked about her!

As if that wasn't enough, the shinsengumi was in a total chaos, umiliated by this woman that they didn't even menaged to see a glimpse of ....... and the most embarrassing thing was that she gave them some help!

It was just like she was trying to humiliate them ........... and it worked, the media absolutely roasted them.

All this time,Shinsuke who already was intrigued by this mysterious girl became even more interested in her.

By the few information the media managed to obtain, they found out that she was an extremely skilled ninja and also a chemist, as most of the time she used an unknown lethal poison, probably created by none other than herself.

Shinsuke was pondering, he had numerous samurai by his side,a l̶o̶l̶i̶c̶o̶n̶ strategist, a c̶*n̶t̶ gunwoman, but he missed a ninja,not to mention a chemist.

'If this woman is really as dangerous and smart as they all said then she would nosentless be a huge addition to the kiheitai' Shinsuke thought.

It's the middle of the night,and Shinsuke is near one of the shogunate base, why would he be alone and so close to his enemy territory?you will ask.........the motivation was easy, the so called death's fairy announced that she was going to attack this specific base. In fact there where dozens of shinsengumi's patrols all around the place.

Don't worry, even though the one eyed man was close he was hiding well,no one noticed his presence.

He wanted to see her in action,to see if the rumors about her were really true.

The stabilized hour was getting closer and closer,there was an evident tension between the men.

"That damn woman........I think she's tricking us" said one of the guard

"I don't think so,she always kept her word,I don't think she would trick us"a brown haired boy said

"By the way, isn't the a little too much quiet inside there" one said pointing at the huge bakufu's building.

"I'll go check" a policeman answered.

The vice chief of the shinsengumi was lighting a cigarette,a really annoyed Expression on his face,he didn't like being made fun of, and this is exactly what this woman was doing.

His annoyed Expression amused the hiding Shinsuke. "She must've really mess up with them"

"Vice chief vice chief!!!!"

The sudden yells caught the attention of the man in question

"It's terrible, t-they are all d-dead"

"What? How is it possible!"he shouted as he runned inside the building, just to see everyone dead.

Shinsuke was really amazed,but also confused, 'how, and when did she do that?' he thought.

"SHE MUST STILL BE INSIDE!!!" the vice chief shouted,as he and his men barged inside to capture the ninja........too bad it was too late.

On the roof Shinsuke could see a figure,he watched her awestruck as she jumped in the air, he couldn't see her well, the only thing he menaged to see was her silhouette as she jumped right in front of the moon.

He watched the girl,as she swiftly escaped right under the nose of the police.

"She's surely is graceful~~he smirked~~for a ruthless killer"

Prism Rush Prism Kingdom event summary

I figured I might as well try and write a summary of this event now that I have unlocked all the stories I am going to get (everyone but KPR Shin) and while it’s still semi-fresh in my mind. It’s a really challenging thing to try with all the overlapping/simultaneous stories, but well here we go haha.

So basically Kakeru gets all the boys to participate in the beta test of a new VR game, and Scwartz Rose of course ends up involved too. Everyone gets their class decided by answering a series of questions and is then transported to a random area of the map.

Hiro ends up turning into a king, which is a bit of a shame for him since he’s the only one with gamer experience. His roll is basically as an NPC who hands out quests. (It’s rarely mentioned, but I have seen a few profiles which list gaming as his hobby and he shows a lot of knowledge about gaming in this story.)

Kakeru ends up being a merchant character overseeing the game. Another NPC-like presence, he doesn’t do much. 

Taiga (a theif) and Kazuki (a swordsman) happen to generate next to each other and agree to be teammates, much to Taiga’s joy. But as soon as they try, an error occurs which kicks Taiga out of the game. 

Kazuki receives a quest to find a legendary sword from Hiro and he succeeds.

Yukinojo becomes a samurai (complete with compulsive -degozaru sentence ender) and receives the same quest from Hiro. 

He meets with Leo shortly after, but tells him he needs to achieve his quest alone. But he teaches Leo a powerful special move.

Yukinojo then climbs a mountain and somehow levels up to 99 waiting for a sword which doesn’t appear. (I think the joke is supposed to be that Kazuki already got it.)

Leo, a ninja, had been trying to do quests to fight monsters before meeting up with Yukinojo but not getting very far since he always lets them go. Now armed with a powerful special move and knowledge about how games work, he rapidly levels up.

Taiga arrives back into the game after getting kicked out, but finds himself in a different area nowhere near Kazuki. He begins using his thief skills to steal stuff from monsters while hoping to find him. But he then gets in trouble when he angers on a monster too big for him to handle and is saved by Leo who berates him for stealing. Still, they form a team as Taiga sees how strong Leo is. 

The first person Shin meets in the game is Louis, both archers, and they quickly form a team. Rather then progressing through the game together though, Louis more than content just to listen to Shin’s stories. Until Shin mentions that in his quest he has encountered an impassible puzzle. But Louis quickly realizes that if the two of them stand on the opposite sides of the door and touch their hands together, it will open. However, only one of them can pass through. So Louis decides to become the sacrifice so Shin can continue, which he does, as Louis sadly watches his party member status change from 2 to 1. 

Outside the cave Leo sees Shin and instantly notices that he looks sad. So Leo quickly invites him to join their team. Taiga is reluctant at first since teams can only be 3 members and he had his heart set on teaming with Kazuki, but they ultimately decide to join forces to defeat the Devil King and find who they are all looking for. (Shin for Louis, Leo for Yukinojo, Taiga for Kazuki.)

Meanwhile, Kouji, Minato, and Yu have all met and formed a 3-person team as well. Despite the fact that they are all magic users (Yu a wizard, Minato a cleric, Kouji a scholar) and Yu is the only one who can attack, Yu is confident in the strength of their team because he is sure he can carry them all. They receive the same quest (to defeat the Devil King) as Shin’s group as Hiro wonders if they know what they are doing. 

Kouji, Minato, and Yu reach the Devil King who is of course Alexander. However they quickly realize they how screwed they are as Yu, the only attacker, can only attack with magic which Alexander is strong against. So they hopelessly try and whittle away at his health while Yu attacks and Minato/Kouji support with little effect. 

But before all hope is lost Shin’s party, three physical attackers, arrive at the rescue. The two teams join forces and after being healed by Minato’s cooking they are ready to go.

Meanwhile Kakeru (who has been hanging out with Hiro) sees that all six of them joining a party should not be possible and they have activated some kind of bug. The bugs continue when they reduce Alexander’s health to zero but he is still not defeated. All of a sudden the graphics glitch and everyone becomes pixelated. 

This effects everyone including Kazuki heading to the castle, Yukinojo on the mountain, and Louis who has only just reached Shin through a roundabout route and was just about to call out to him. 

Kakeru realizes the game is glitched beyond repair at the point and reboots it, kicking everyone out. Basically the end.
