The pogues have noticed that you've been cagey lately. You're always sneaking off to meet someone but you're never too keen on mentioning who that someone is. To say their suspicions were growing would be the understatement of the century.

They'd all tried their hand at investigating, but they can never get further than hearing that you're going to work, or that you have to help your parents with dinner, or whatever excuse you manage to muster up at the drop of a hat.

Until today, that is. This time, Kie had a plan.

"Hey, can I send myself the pictures we took today from your phone? I'm planning my post for Sarah's birthday," she asks, motioning over to the device in your hand.

Without suspecting anything, you nod and hand it over to her. "Knock yourself out. I gotta pee."

Kie watches as you scurry off to the bathroom, and once you're inside the chateau and out of earshot, she summons the group over hurriedly. "Okay, she's gone! Hurry!"

The group begins to scroll through your camera roll, but is severely disappointed when all they can find are pictures of you and them, the scenery of the island, food, and a whole bunch of miscellaneous screenshots.

But just as they think all hope is lost, they come across a video. The screen is almost pitch black, but they can make out two figures.

"Well, turn the volume up," Pope says. "If we can't see anything, maybe we'll be able to hear who's with her."

Kie does as he says, and the sounds of skin slapping fills their ears. "Oh— oh my god."

"Yeah? You like that, princess? You like filming while I fuck you?"

"Hold up," JJ says. "Is that—"

"Yes. Yes, I like it. Fuck, harder, Rafe!"

"Ew, ew! Turn it off!" Sarah exclaims. She's visibly disgusted and petrified all at the same time as her hands shake vigorously in the air.

"Oh my god, ew! I said turn it off!" Sarah yells. Kie swipes out of the video, and the entire group is slack-jawed by the time you come back from the restroom. Your eyes find all of theirs, and your brows furrow with confusion.

"Woah, what's going on? Why does it feel like you're about to give me an intervention?"

Uniform Grey by Sarah Harmer. I participated in a program in 2001, where you go and live and work in a provincial park in Northern Ontario for a summer. We didn't have many cds for the vans, but Sarah Harmer was one of them, and I fell in love. If you like acoustic folk type music, I can't recommend her enough

21. Someone recommended to me

Sometime Around Midnight by The Airbourne Toxic Event. My best friend/roommate and I were making a playlist for driving across the country, and she asked me to put this one it. The first time it came on, I was floored. It's a legit storytelling ballad. Every verse builds, with a new instrument joining each time, and the singer's voice gets more desperate as he tells his story. Goosebumps, every time.

Lena knew from a young age that she wasn't straight. Her first relationship was with a boy on the local soccer (football) team, in early secondary school. That lasted only for a few weeks, maybe a month or two tops. He was objectively attractive, and plenty of the straight girls around couldn't understand Lena's disinterest in him. It fell flat very quickly. About six months later, she'd have her first kiss with Sarah Collins at one of the local skateparks, probably blowing school off. That's when she realized that she wasn't attracted to men at all.

🧸 A headcanon about their childhood

Lena was a competitive gymnast! Her mother got her involved as a way to 'stay safe' in the ruined streets of London, as she grew up hot the tails of the omnic crisis. Skirmishes here and there still broke out, and it felt like the war was unending. Ciara, Lena's mother, enrolled her hyperactive and easily-distracted daughter in classes around age 3 as a way to work some energy out and stay safe from said skirmishes. Lena ended up loving it, progressing through until she was about 12 years old. She participated in meets and competitions around the country, getting to be decently known for her class. There were some rumors that if she stuck with it into her teen years, she could eventually go international with it. Unfortunately, she quit around age 12 due to extenuating circumstances. However! You can still see evidence of her gymnastic ability and flexibility today, in the way she flips through time and space on the battlefield.

😺 An animal related headcanon

Lena loves animals! Unfortunately, as a kid, she couldn't have a pet due to their living space not permitting pets. She was too mobile with Overwatch, not trusting that she'd be able to properly take care of a pet. However, now that her and Emily have settled down somewhat - still living very hectic jobs as an Overwatch agent and an investigative journalist respectively - they've talked about getting a greyhound that Lena could race around with it. They're holding off, for now, but it's definitely on their radar.

Also The Book of Cheese by Liz Thorpe. it is. ridiculous.
