the frustrating thing about discussions of kink for me is that it’s like the gom jabbar test for pulling reactionary sex politics out of people. you’ll see people bringing up (real and worth discussing!) issues of abusive people using the cover of being a dom or liking servant/master dynamics and then they’ll conclude this is why we have to treat kink like nuclear waste, rather than pointing to other issues of consent, power imbalances, lack of communication, respect, or negotiation. (not to mention how the existence of predatory/abusive subs is basically handwaved away because it’s inconvenient to their narrative..) like the problem of shitty guys pushing 50 shades wannabe stuff on their girlfriends lies with their misogyny and lack of respect for their partners wants, not with an idea of them being ontologically evil for enjoying sadism. further stigmatization and demonization just make discussing safe practices and safe communities for informed and healthy kink harder

Hard one, I'm usually going for moddy wibes even when drawing the sunshiniest pieces. The Crawl by Placebo (I love them so so much), Nothing's gonna hurt you by Cigarettes After Sex (anything by them screams HORNY), and anything by Mariya Chaikovskaya (she's a Ukrainian musician with incredible vocals, charming piano and lyrics, highly recommend).

Ghibli's Howl's Moving Castle. I will never be tired of it and enchanted by it's beauty and music. I watch it every time I get a cold or just feel lonely. The second one is The Good Place. It's such a good show and reminds me how we watched it together with my flatmates when I was a grad student. (I can also add ATLA here, it never bores me out)

i gotta be honest with you it’s kind of fucking annoying as hell seeing transmascs watch all the insane recent transmisogyny and go “this is why we have to care about trans people, listen to trans siblings” no. this is about trans women. this is transmisogyny, plain and clear, and a big fucking reason why so many (cis and trans) tme people on this site still have such a transmisogyny problem is because they listen to other tme trans people about transmisogyny over trans women. a lot of people spreading these stupid callouts are transmasc and just not caring enough/looking close to see the transmisogyny! many of them are part of the problem in this way and we cant be afraid to recognize their bigotry just because they’re also trans, we have to stop excusing this behavior. stop getting defensive and generalizing this shit and start actually trying to seriously stand with the women in your community who are getting othered and socially murdered every other fucking day

sometimes i get so frustrated about how many transmisogynistic users get reblogged despite their reliable-to-the-point-of-predictability episodes of vitriolic hostility against transfems or absolute lack of care in spreading hearsay about us that i think of making a big blocklist or callout, but its a foolish idea because callouts are only for making a spectacle and Other of someone in order to reinforce norms in the in group. transmisogyny callouts never spread to a large audience for this reason; as a rhetorical tool, they are not for enacting justice.

and even if they could, i stop myself, because they're a stupid way of trying to stop bigotry in the first place. we should be striving to be able to recognize bigoted rhetoric and challenge it ourselves, to stand with the marginalized in our communities, rather than making the victims have to point out The Bad Ones over and over since you can't see. and clearly, you can't see! because i cant hardly scroll this website and see an acquaintance reblog a post without recognizing op as either an open transmisogynistic themself, or a useful idiot for transmisogynists and spreading their callouts. (many of which included private pictures and nudes for "evidence" towards their evil kinks; to make this clear, revenge porn with a coat of progressive paint.)

but time and time again, nobody sees the problem when it happens to trans women. its all a pretense to voice preconceptions of disgust to trans women. they dont really believe that making shitty posts is equivalent to actual sexual abuse, just like they dont actually believe that wearing thigh highs is pedophile-coded, its all just excuses to hate trans women like they want to. for them, its just finding excuses to put in the keywords that turn peoples brains off and play into their bias. oh, sure, i cyberstalked literal years into her private nsfw blog to dig up that nude and match it with a selfie from her main and i put both in the callout im spreading around, but why would that be bad? dont you know she calls her girlfriend mommy in private sometimes? look, i did mental gymnastics to equate this consensual roleplay to real world harm, its totally pedo-incest coded! look, i said shes into raceplay apropos of nothing just to get people pissed at her, but you're not gonna check, right? why would spreading that and her nudes- sorry i mean evidence of her crimes to more strangers and exposing her to transphobes be bad? how can it be sexual harassment when the woman person really really deserves it i promise?

i especially hate it when shitheads try to paint discussions of intracommunity transmisogyny and the scary alienating situation of another trans person being transphobic to you as “transfems hating all men/transmascs for being transmasc” because aside from their blatant transmisogynistic misreading, there is so much love in my heart for transmascs. i have so many transmasc friends and owe so much of my current understanding of my own gender situation and my gender politics to being able to being able to bounce off and level with them about gender and transness, and id never put any kind of shitty essentialist accusations on their identity because my gender politics have fucking principles.

it boils my blood to see people act like you can’t hold transmisogynists accountable for their bigotry even when they’re trans, while at the same time loving and standing with your community. im sick of it!
