"Titan Battle"
An injured Titanomachya gimenezi is about to be mauled by its neighbor a bull Carnotaurus sastrei. Despite its armor this individual born with a malformed foot and separated from its herd does not stand much of a chance.
Titanomachya is a recently discovered TINY sauropod related to Saltasaurus. It lived in Argentina towards the end of the Cretaceous period. Even cooler is that it's the second named dinosaur species from the La Colonia Formation, making it neighbors with the famous Carnotaurus.
It's also a great name, being named after the Titanomachy or the war between the olympian gods with the titans.
I find it really interesting how it's so small for a sauropod, only about the weight of an elephant. I love unconventional dinosaurs such as this and like to imagine there were more in the world than we tend to think.

Xinjiangtitan
Reminder of one of the "worst" sauropods to have existed. Xinjiangtitan a sauropod of the Mamenchisauridae family that lived during the Middle Jurassic of what is now Xinjiang, northwestern China. It is pretty darn complete for a large sauropod (which is a miracle given how rare they are to preserve )so is good but damn does it look stupid with its stupidly long neck and proportions.
Art by Knüppe and Gunnar.

Today's random portfolio artwork is "Wrong Place Wrong Time," which shows the moment of death for one of two Sauroposeidon. This was my first ever Zbrush sculpture illustration (2012).

This Fossil Friday, we bring you the beloved Apatosaurus: a long-necked dinosaur that could reach an impressive size of 73 feet (22 meters) long! The Museum’s first Apatosaurus was discovered at Wyoming’s Bone Cabin Quarry in 1898. When it went on display in 1905, it was the first sauropod dinosaur ever mounted. It’s hard to believe, but this gigantic herbivore maintained its mind-boggling bulk on a diet of plants. A soup of microbes in its belly broke down otherwise hard-to-digest plants by fermentation. In fact, some birds, the closest living relatives of dinosaurs, also have fermentation chambers in their guts.
