Fright or Flight
CW: Blood, murder, death,
The air reeked of blood. A thick, metallic haze that hung over every centimeter of the gore splattered room.
Villain hid beneath a long, folding table, fist clenched tightly between his teeth to keep from gagging--or worse, whimpering--and exposing his hiding place. In his free hand, he clutched the bloodied end of his tattered half cape. In the chaos, he'd slipped in one of the pools of gore, a disturbingly warm and sticky experience, though the sopping cloth now left him shivering. From the fear or the cold, he wasn’t sure.
It had happened like that. One moment they were all bustling around HQ figuring out the logistics of Supervillain's newest scheme, the next moment, carnage.
This wasn't how Villain's first day was supposed to go.
"Don't. Don't." Supervillain choked around the hero's strangling grip. Villian peered far enough from his cover to see as she thrust the master criminal halfway out a window.
"And I should let you keep wreaking havoc because?" Her voice ran cold, as chilled as the ice water people claimed ran through her veins.
Superhero. Villain had heard about her. Horror stories for rookies he'd always assumed, but now...just looking at her...he wondered if those stories hadn't been understated.
"B-because I can get you information, keep you in the loop on other villains' schemes." Suddenly Supervillain grasped their pride again and broke into a loud snarl. "I'm an asset!"
Superhero scoffed, dropping one finger off Supervillain's collar to let him flail and sway. "You forget I know you. The moment I let you go, you'll either disappear and cause trouble somewhere else, or you'll scramble for your allies and attack me back tenfold. No. No loose ends. Aren't you the one who taught me that?"
"That wasn't-- Superhero, if you just listen!"
"Sorry, I don't make a habit of conversing with criminals."
And she dropped him.
The scream only lasted a couple seconds. As soon as he passed the top two floors, the wind lifted the shriek away as cleanly and crisply as if it'd never happened.
Villain's insides squeezed in on themselves, and he clutched hard at his gut as he slid further back against the wall. The last thing he needed was a shadow or a shoestring giving him away on Superhero's way out.
Or that had been the plan. Before his wet clothes decided to give a terrible squeak on the tile floor.
Villain froze. clenching either side of his half cape in both hands now and pulling it around him like a shield.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
Superhero's red boots, stained darker from the blood, stopped right in front of his hiding spot. Now that Villain looked closer, it wasn't much of a hiding spot with the trail of blood leading right underneath.
Long auburn hair came into view first, the ends gathering together to tickle the floor, then a bloodied temple, and then those heart-stopping blue eyes. Like ice chips that somehow also burned.
Her gaze locked with his, and he flattened himself against the drywall. A fly in a web. A mouse on sticky trap. Prey backed into its hole.
"Who are you?" Superhero said. No real curiosity. Barely a speck of any feeling at all.
Villain swallowed, but that only served to paste the walls of his throat tighter together. "V-Villain..." he barely squeaked.
"Never heard of you."
"I-I'm...new. Today new."
"Unlucky day to start a job."
"Yeah."
Strong fingers seized him by the ankle and the next thing he knew, Superhero had dragged him on his back out into the open. The murderess stood over him, staring as if to peel him apart, and all he could do was stare back and pray the urge to kill didn't strike her.
She toed at his throat. "You're so fresh, I can practically smell the paint drying."
"I've done things!" Villain defended sharply. Idiotically. Why was he saying that? She didn't need to actually see him as a target and tear his head from his body! Just...for some reason the thought of her not taking him seriously was almost just as gut wrenching.
"Oh really? Such as?"
"Th-things. Bad things. I...I was hired by Supervillain."
Superhero raised her brow. "You want out alive, don't you?"
"Um...yes? If that's an option, I would very much like--"
"Then don't tempt me."
Another dry swallow, this time tagged with a sort of choking, dying animal sound. "Ok."
Superhero nodded. "My moral code doesn't allow mercy for a certain caliber of criminal. You seem mostly harmless. So I'll be going now."
Villain could only squeak in response.
Supervillain lifted the teasing-threatening pressure of her boot off his jugular and moved out of view, the light tap of her soles soon fading into nothingness.
For a long time, Villain couldn't move. His heart beat too rapidly and every muscle coiled so tightly that any attempt at getting up shot sharp cramps up his limbs.
In fact, it wasn't until Other Villain and her vultures came scrounging an hour later that he was able to--with some help--sit upright.
"How did you survive?" was the first thing out of Other Villain's mouth.
Villain shrugged. Even if he could get the words to come, he really couldn't say why the hero had chosen to question him out of everyone. Eventually, Other Villain had enough silence and pulled him against the wall to wait while her vultures went through stained shirts and pockets.
"Other Villain?" Villain called eventually, once they moved on to stealing larger items, like furniture and plans.
"Hm?" Other Villain said as she poured the contents of a desk drawer into her backpack.
"How does one get on Superhero's radar?"

Fluff, Amajiki x female reader, part 1 of 2
Part of the Hero Interview Panel Series
Tumblr media
"What was I thinking..." You closed your eyes and pressed your forehead against the wall. It was cold, but did nothing to relieve the anxiety welling inside. You groaned and started square breathing.
"Are you-are you alright?"
"Oh, sorry. Yea, it's just a little overwhelming out there." You opened your eyes and tilted your head towards the shaky, but gentle voice. "Didn't know anyone else was-" Your words trailed off when you saw a white hooded hero in the same position you were, but a few yards away. He hummed in understanding.
"It's awful out there. I tried picturing everyone as potatoes." You giggled, but stopped when he looked at you with sad indigo eyes.
"I'm so sorry! I wasn't laughing at you. I was just thinking that a stadium full of human-sized potatoes would still be pretty scary." He nodded and turned back to the wall.
"Yea, it was."
"So, that's why you're here?"
You wondered if you'd offended him, but you didn't want to be the one to end the silence hanging between you. You had a hunch he was sorting out his thoughts.
"I'm hiding from Red Riot and Lemillion."
"Why?"
"Because I'd go out there if they asked me to...even though it's awful."
"You're brave." He turned to look at you again. At least one eyebrow was raised. His hair covered too much of his face to tell if the other one was up as well. "Oh, you know...because you'd do it even if it scares you." His eyes darted down your body, searching for something.
"You don't look like the rest of the potatoes." Your laugh echoed through the hall.
"Well, that's good. I'd rather be french fries." Damn, he was even cuter when he smiled. He moved two steps closer.
"Why are you here, small fry?" His eyes flickered to your cheeks as they warmed.
"Oh, well I'm actually one of the panel moderators...sorry." His head tilted. So cute!
"You're a reporter? I don't recognize you."
"I kind of prefer it that way...I'm actually a print journalist. I don't usually volunteer for these sorts of things."
"You volunteered?"
"You're good at this. Normally I ask all the questions." He blushed and took a step back. "Oh, I don't mind...I like it." You shook your head. You were acting like such a rookie, but you really weren't expecting to actually talk with him. "I volunteered." You took one last deep breath. "I volunteered to lead the Fat Gum Agency panel because I wanted to meet my favorite hero..." You felt a rush of something, pushing you to continue. "...and you don't really do interviews."
You watched his face reach a new level of blush as quickly as the words had tumbled out of your mouth.
"I'm so sorry! I'm not saying this was an interview...like this is totally off the record and all that. It was just a nice talk."
"You say sorry a lot."
"Sorry...um I mean, yes you're right. I mean it when I say it though."
"You always mean what you say." You opened your mouth to answer, but closed it when you realized it wasn't a question. Your phone started vibrating. You silenced it without pulling it from your pocket.
"We're gonna' be late." He turned back to the wall. "Um, do you want me to use my quirk on you. It might help with the anxiety."
He didn't move when you closed the distance between you. You moved your hand up, but paused as you neared his face. He was blushing again.
"Oh, and if you're angry with me...tell me now. My quirk-"
"I'm not angry."
"Okay, then it should be fine." You pressed your hand to his cheek. You hesitated when his eyes closed and he hummed.
"Is your quirk sunshine?" Your brows crinkled in confusion.
"What do you mean?"
"It feels warm and soothing...like the sun." You blushed, but kept your hand and eyes on Suneater.
"My quirk is Amplify. I can increase the impact of emotions...but I...didn't use it on you yet." His eyes sprang open. You bit your lip to keep from grinning when you saw his cute pointed ears shift to the same red as his cheeks.

Valorant x Spiderverse Reader 🕷️
Lol another Spider-Man post! I’m a little late to the party but calling this Spider-Weekend since I have more stuff left in the tank 😂
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Call-Sign: Spinner
Residence: New York City, USA
You were a rookie recruit from the Big Apple after a video of you went viral. You wouldn’t really call yourself “hero,” but you tried your best to be that Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man you thought was needed.
You tried to keep a low profile, since most people weren’t really accepting of Radiants yet. But you were seen on the streets before: catching shoplifters, maybe a robber or two, or just helping people with directions. But the video was a clip from a news station after a large subway train started barreling down the tracks with no brakes and a broken bridge.
Only for a masked figure in a hoodie to suddenly swoop down from the sky and slow it with only some webs and their bare hands.
That was by far the craziest stunt you’ve ever pulled. Thankfully everyone made it off the train safely, with the so-called Spider-Man/Spider-Woman no where to be found.
Brimstone had it in mind; a selfless Radiant like you with powerful skills could prove to be a valuable asset to the team. But no one could find you or even knew who you were.
You were just trying your best to lay low for awhile. Until a warning went out throughout the city that a spike had been planted in Brooklyn and everyone was required to evacuate.
You obviously just couldn’t stand by, not with your home and family were at risk, so you tried to track the bomb down yourself before the city was blown sky high. That’s where you met Jett and Gekko, who were scoping out the area trying to track the spike down. Until they found you tangled up in your webs trying to figure out how to disarm the dang thing.
It took awhile, but the bomb was deactivated, Brimstone offered up the chance for you to join the Valorant Protocol instead of swinging around all day in a Halloween costume. You said yes! 🙌
You mostly hang out with the youngster squad, mainly Gekko since you and him come from a similar background. Not really in it for the glory or anything hardcore, just going around trying to help and hang out. Plus he had good taste in music.
However, Jett has taken a liking to you too. Often racing with each other on missions to see who gets there first while pulling parkour tricks in the air.
Since you can stick to walls, it does take everyone some time to get used to your abilities. And that means ALOT of mischief. You once scared Phoenix in the break room when he was looking for something to eat. Only to scream and fall when you offered him some cereal.
Not only that but I’m sure it’s be scary to see your crawling around the walls every now and then. Just imagine seeing that at night in the hallway. . . 😅
But your webs are also cool for tricks too; you once make a giant trampoline outside of the base for everyone to use, and Brimstone still hasn’t gotten over your little scheme of sticking all the furniture to the ceiling!
(Okay I know that’s wasn’t much but that’s all I got! Happy Spiderverse Day! 🙌🕷️)

Alright its elemental roulette AU time again, whether you like it or not! (for those of you who are curious, you can check out all my other posts about it here: 1, 2, 3)
Jay being Samurai X in this AU is pretty self-explanatory, so i probably dont need to talk about it in too much depth. But I will anyway!
In this version of events, Jay managed to perfect his mechanical wings, and then expanded it into a big ol flying suit of armor. So, think Samurai X mech, but crossbreed it with like, the Sonic Raider Jet or something. But also theres a distinctly comic-book-superhero flair to it all because of course there is, this is Jay we're talking about.
Same as canon, Samurai X starts making appearances, he begins upstaging the ninja, and its established that the current ninja team is full of angsty perfectionists, so OBVIOUSLY they all hate his guts. Jay is a little gremlin, though, and their frustration only encourages him to upstage them even more.
Eventually they do discover his real identity and meet him, and maybe realize they were being a bit too harsh when they should have been more appreciative of his support. So they invite Jay into the fold of their operations.
Jay may be a comparative rookie, but hes got the motivation. See, his parents were attacked by Fangpyres and got turned into Serpentines, and he figures that if stopping Pythor and co. can get him any closer to finding a cure for them, then he has to try. If nothing else, he can at least get some well-deserved revenge. And once he learns about the Great Devourer situation, he definitely doesnt want that to happen. Basically, hes motivated by the recent rise in Serpentine activity.
(Im also currently toying with the idea that Jay was turned Serpentine as well. I dont wanna elaborate on this point too much since im not certain i'll keep it, but its definitely something to think about.)
Regardless of motivation, Jay is more than happy to join the team. After all, who in their right mind would turn down an invitation to join a kickass team of superpowered crimefighters, as well as the opportunity to be trained by the son of a literal diety??? Sign him up!
....he did not realize what he was signing up for. The comic books did not prepare him for how traumatic saving the world can be. He would like a refund please
Of course, this realization doesnt strike until Zane's death. Jay's first real experience with loss. Sure, their battles have been scary and dangerous, but watching a friend die...watching a friend die to save the world...thats when it hits him that being a hero comes with a price. So he throws in the towel and bails.
That is, until Wu approaches him, saying that the ninja have all gone missing (bc they went to Chen's island without telling anyone). And well, Jay has lost one friend already, and it sucks. But hes not going to sit by and lose everyone else who matters to him, too. So he warily takes up his old Samurai X mantle again and sets out to find his friends.
So yeah Jay and Dareth team up on Chen's island and it is just as chaotic as you might imagine.
Also, i feel the need to point out that Jays stuff isnt all sleek and modern like Nya's. He doesnt have a secret base, he just tinkers away at his parents' scrapyard. He canonically doesnt know the proper name for an exhaust valve. His mechs and weapons do not look like they should operate by any stretch, but somehow they DO.
Nya got to the island by using holograms to disguise her vehicle. But in this AU, Jay gets to the island by building a shoddy jetplane out of spare tractor parts and crashing it into the side of a volcano.
Jay's strange blend of competence and incompetence only makes Morro hate him even more. By all rights, this chaotic grease monkey and living embodiment of the knife-cat meme should NOT be able to defeat him. That rusty mech thats really just a glorified trashcan should not be able to throw Morro through several concrete walls. And yet here we are.
Jay, meanwhile, delights in tormenting Morro. Because of course he does.
Now, he and Nya do still have their falling out, but its not due to a love triangle or anything. Its bc Jay bailed out after Zane's death, Nya got upset at him, and in the ensuing fight over it they both said some...pretty hurtful things. And over time they work on repairing their relationship again, but it still takes a long time before theyre ready to be a couple again.
Im currently torn between three possibilities. 1) Chen reveals the truth of his elemental power to him. 2) Jay spontaneously manifests lightning one day and everyone is very confused. 3) One of his Skybound wishes results in the discovery of his elemental power. Im a bit fond of option 3, if only bc that opens the opportunity for Skybound to focus more heavily on the adoption subplot, and would naturally build up to a true potential sequence at the end.
If so, maybe the wish that would have revealed Cliff Gordon's death ends up instead revealing his elemental power to him, forcing him to reconcile his birth parentage in the weirdest way possible. Idk id have to think about it, i havent seen Skybound in a while.
I think Jay does choose to be a ninja instead of a samurai, if only to feel closer to his birth-mother and to carry on her legacy/learn more about her, but still keeps a lot of gadgets and doohickeys on his person. The harness thingie on his Wildbrain gi? It serves as a holster for his various inventions and bizarre, unorthodox weapons.
Jay spends a decent chunk of time thinking he has no elemental powers, so he and Misako strike up an unexpected camaraderie as a result of thinking theyre the only non-elementals on the team. Wu is an elemental master and specializes in training others like him, but Misako isnt, and since spinjitzu is a bit different for those without elemental powers she offers to train Jay.
Jay may not be the strongest or most powerful fighter, but give him a paperclip and some dental floss and he'll find a way to macgyver your downfall. Its only when hes cornered into a hand-to-hand confrontation without any weapons that he tends to falter. Take away his gadgets and he starts to have issues, since he has zero combat training. So yeah he is in dire need of Misako's guidance.
And hey, maybe this is a good opportunity to explore Misako's character as well! Maybe they share a heart to heart, where Jay laments being abandoned and Misako reluctantly shares her motives and turmoil over leaving her son. Maybe she gets some character development. Oh! And maybe Jay sometimes joins her on expeditions.
Once Ray and Maya are saved, Jay and Cole very sheepishly ask them if they knew their mothers. And during the timeskip after season 7 they spend many nights hanging at the blacksmith shop, listening to Ray and Maya recount the good ol days.
And for the record, YES. Cole and Jay are still besties in this AU. Their dynamic is deeply important to me.
I also wanna redo Prime Empire to focus more on Jay's abandonment issues and you cant stop me.
For the purposes of this AU ive decided to replace Wojira with two new deities, one of lightning and one of ice. This means that Jay and Zane are both eligible to get Nyad-ified at the end of Seabound. Which one it happens to remains undetermined atm, altho im admittedly leaning a bit more towards Jay. If only because the mental image of Jay being made of pure lightning, and wanting to kiss Nya goodbye before vanishing into the sky but not being able to touch her without zapping her...yeah that concept is gonna live in my head rent-free for at least an hour
Its not much, but those are the broad strokes of what i have for Jay so far!

@grimmusings sent “Do you want solutions, or comfort?” (Lily x Bucky ❤️)
Lily sat down on the training mat, panting heavily. It was her second week training at the compound and she sucked like the first day. It was truly frustrating and she hated looking like a rookie. Five years serving in the army, she had been deployed as a sniper four times already. She was good, great actually, the best of her team, had an incredible aim and never missed a shot. That's why she had been "upgraded" and was now trained to be part of the Elite team of Shield. Unfortunately Lily wasn't good at hand to hand combat and it was showing. Her body was sore and she was frustrated and sore all over. She wanted to be good, to prove that she could do better.
Sergeant Barnes, mostly known as the infamous Winter Soldier was her trainer. A honor, really. Before Hydra he was well known in the second world war and had been part of the Howling Commandos, fighting alongside Captain America. He was a hero, a legend. It wasn't her place to judge what had happened after he was presumably dead, but he was even stronger now, scary even and she knew he was holding back his punches. What would happen if she was sent on the field and had to fight in a hand to hand combat? What if her opponents weren't human? What if they were supersoldiers? Or worst...
“Comfort me with solutions” she forced a smile, looking up at the massive supersoldier before her. “I'm not making any progress.. What if they were wrong sending me here?”

Summary: After Trying at Becoming a Hero, Kana Finds her Demonic Blood Lust Hard to Control and Keep Under Wraps, eventually she goes Rouge against the Hero Commission, Where Does She End up?
Villain Arc AU!
Chapter One: “Redemption.”
🦋😈🦋😈🦋😈🦋😈🦋😈🦋😈🦋😈🦋😈🦋😈
“The Fangs Are getting Sharper Sakai” Hawks Notices on a Patrol Together, She Sighed, She Noticed that along with the Poison Mark Spreading across her Left Eye.
“Nothin’ I can Stop Keigo, it’s Apart of my Quirk.” She Said Mournfully, her Claws Were getting Longer as well, Sharp Enough To Claw Someone’s Eye Out.
“not to mention Your Awakened Form.” Keigo Said, now That was a Scary Form, a Horn on her Head Along With Vines As a Mark along her arms and Legs not to mention on her Neck and Chest area as Well.
And her blood Demon Art became Much more Outer ranged and Powerful, It Burned the opponent but Healed allies.
“I’m still Figuring that one Out, Keigo.” She Muttered, That Damned Form Scared her to Death, It was also a Hassle to control, The Blood Lust Was Too Powerful to Control, She Could Lash Out at Someone Who Had been innocent.
(This Chapter Takes Place in Season One)
“New Students are Coming into the Hero Program.” Keigo Mentioned, Her Eyes Switched From the Ground to Keigo’s Face, New Students Wanting to Become Hero’s already.
“The Hero Commission Still on Ya’ For wanting you To Take on an intern for your Agency?” Keigo Asked, Kana Rolled Her Eyes at His Laid Back Playful Tone, “Yes, I just Work Better Around Adults Instead Of Teenagers in School!” She Whined stuffing her hands into her Jacket Pockets.
It was true Highschoolers Annoyed her to No End, Always Asking Questions about her Quirk, She Remembered one Really Dumb Kid Who asked her If it was Hard Treating People who were Currently Bleeding Out When She was Heading People, If She Choked Back Her Own Drool because, ‘Demons Couldn’t Control Themselves.’
It was Hard But Eventually There were Other ways Of Gaining blood Instead Of Drinking From a Human, Blood Banks, and Drinking from Animals Or Dead animals, Stopping She Sensed A Villain Nearby.
Sweat Rolled Down Her Face, Veins Bulging Out, Her Pupils Turned to Silts in her Pink Eyes, and a Low Growling Noise Sounded from her Throat.
“Eh? Sakai? What is it?” Keigo Asked, Moving his Golden Gaze Towards a Dark Alleyway, There Must Be a Villain In that Allleyway, No way She Would Just Stop for any Old Stranger In a Alleyway.
“Hawks, Stealth form 3, Sneaky fox.” She Muttered Out, before Lowering Kind Of Low Like a Fox Would, the Alleyway was Dark, Pitch Black, a Low Whistle Sounded in the Air.
Kana Made Sure to Keep their Footsteps Quiet as Possible, She Swallowed Back her Drool, their Scents Smelled Like Some Ordinary Rookie Villains, Whom Did not Work for the League of Villains.
“Oi! You Guy’s Lost?” the Male’s Voice Questioned the Two Pro’s, How Dare he ask her That, If the Public Knew Anything about her Ego, it was that it was a Huge as her Bark and Bite, and She was all Bite.
“Nope, But Maybe You are.” She Retorted, Pointing a Clawed Fingertip at Him, “You may have not noticed Rookies, but Your Standing Right next to my hero Agency.” She Said, tilting her head as Keigo Stifled his Laughs Behind his Gloved hands.
“Whaa–? You Made her Agency in the Center Of Your Patrolling area?” The Female One Next to the Male Said, a Smirk Rolled Up her Face, “Oh Please~ me Being in the Top Ten of The Pro Hero’s? Who wouldn’t?” She Said Cockily as She Tackled the Female to the Ground.
“You guys are New to this Aren’t Ya’?” She Asked, Digging Her Claws into The Woman’s Shoulder, “But What is your Name Young Villain?” She asked, smiling Showing her Sharp Teeth to Elongate her words.
“Itsuki.” She Replied, Her Eyes Widening as a Darkness Reached her Pink Eyes Within Kana, She was a Pro Hero But She was acting So Sadistically?
Keigo was Starting to get Worried, He had heard She was Changing her Morals and How She was Dealing With Villains.
But She Still Had the Same Ideal right?
“Ooh? What about your Male Partner Over there.” She Asked, Her Claws Digging harshly Into her Shoulders as She waited for Itsuki’s Answer, Keigo Winced.
“Haruto!” She Finally Cracked Under Kana’s Intimidating Aura, Haruto Immediately Thrashed Under Keigo’s Grip, Alarmed that She Had Made Itsuki Give Out Their Names that Fast.
“Hmm, What is your Relationship to Each Other?Partners, Lovers, Best Friends, Or Perhaps Siblings!” She Said Trailing A Claw Down Itsuki’s Soft and Terrified Face.
“He’s my Onii–Chan.” She Pitifully Whimpered Out to the Pro Hero, ah So He was a Big Brother To her, She Found the Weakness Of the Pair Of Villains.
“So, Whose Life Should I Spare?” She asked, Itsuki’s Eyes Widened as Keigo Gaped at her Intrusive Question, “W–Whoa, Sakai your not actually gonna kill on of them are you?” He asked, His Golden Eyes Searching her Pink Ones.
She Moved Her Leg Out to Kick at Itsuki’s Side, Ignoring Keigo’s Question, “Hawks We have to Teach Villains a Lesson Or Else They Won’t Take us Hero’s Seriously.” She Stated With a Blank, Dull Stare.
“Please! Don’t Kill One Of Us!” Itsuki Pleased Below Her, She was Cut Off By Keigo Trying to Stop Kana Once again.
“Kana! You Can’t Murder Villains–” Keigo Tried Once More But was Cut Off By Her Louder Voice.
“Shadow.” was the only Word Or Name She Spoke Out Towards Keigo, Keigo’s Eyebrows Raised, Is that what She was Calling herself now? If Keigo was Correct Shadow was her Vigilante Mother’s Code Name.
“Huh?” Keigo Asked, She Gave a Weird Smile towards the Winged hero, “My Name is Shadow Now.” She Whispered, Itsuki Trembled Under her Grasp.
“As for you two Villains, Choose itsuki.” She Ordered, Keigo Shook his head, Her Morals Had Changed a Little Bit, But He Wondered How Far She Would Actually Take it, Would She Actually Fathom Harming Innocent Lives?
“P–Please!” Itsuki Pleaded as Haruto Looked Helplessly Over To his Sister’s Emerald Green Eyes.
“Fine” She Muttered Getting up off of Itsuki as Keigo Let Go of Haruto, “But if you appear again I will Put an End to it, Do you understand Itsuki?” Kana Asked, lifting her Clawed hand up Letting a Few Sparks Of Pink Fire Show as a Warning Towards the Two Siblings.
“Y–Yes!” Itsuki and Haruto Both Stuttering before Scrambling off, Far Away From her hero Agency.
Keigo was Stunned, Kana Had Never acted Like this, Even in her Early Days as a Hero, I mean these two ‘Villains’ were Practically Children, and She was Willing to Kill One Of them.
“What the Hell was that Kana!” Keigo Shouted, his Wings Puffing Up at What He had Just witnessed, Kana Rolled Her Eyes at Keigo.
“Calm Down Hawks, I wasn’t Really Gonna Hurt Em’.” She Said, tilting her Head at him, Was He Really Worried that She was Going Off the Rail or about their Reputation.
“Worried about me or our Reputation Hawks?” Kana Asked, Standing back Up, Smiling Showing her Sharp Fangs, Keigo Froze, How Did she figure that One Out? And Was She Changing her Whole Idea Of hero’s?
“Hah?” Keigo Gaped at her Question, Eventually She Started to Walk Off, “I’m Starting to think these Hero’s are not even trying to save People" She spoke coldly as keigo only stood there shocked by the hero's actions, he raced to catch up with her.
"what? but kana your a hero too! how could you say that about your fellow Pro Hero's!" Keigo shouted out at her as he chased after her, she swatted his words away, "oh Please! if we were hero's we would dispose of these so called villains immediately." she spoke so distant as if she never had worked for the hero commission at all.
Keigo only stared at her in disbelief, she soon raised the black angelic wings from her back, also a part of her quirk, "Bye bye for now hawks." she said before taking off into the night sky.
Keigo could only stare at his friend in disbelief as she flew off, she had never acted like this before especially not a week ago, she was acting like a villain.
and that's when a thought popped into Keigo's head, maybe the league of villains had gotten to her lately, he knew they were notorious for getting into people who they though were worthy to recruit for the league's heads.
if that is what happened then that could be bad for the hero commission, him, and of course for Kana herself.
he had to save her.

Annon-Guy: Weekly Reminder - Aside from Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Cream, Shadow, Rouge, Team Chaotix and Eggman (as her views and relationships with them would be the same like in Sonic X), what would Cosmo think of Big, Silver, Blaze, Marine, Jet, Wave and Storm? I know Cosmo would like the Custom Hero (Rookie), she loves Galaxina very much (in spite of her intial dismissive attitude toward animals), she wouldn't like Metal Sonic and she would be TERRIFIED of Zavok.
With Big, I see a sort of mutual baby-sitter relationship. They both look out for each other. Maybe even like siblings? They both look after each other. Big is a little simple so he probably doesn't understand a lot of the space/tech stuff because he just lives in the jungle with his pal Froggy so Cosmo would help him with that and while timid, Big is, well, very large, so he'd help protect her. And he probably knows a lot about animals since he lives in the woods, so he could introduce Cosmo to the non-humanoid critters of the various worlds. He probably knows fish best though. He is a fisherman. Cosmo might be a little intimidated by Blaze and Silver at first since they're both more serious than Sonic and his happy-go-lucky crew. But I feel like Cosmo would come to see them as mentors and they might see her as a sort of pupil. Especially if the game or series would focus more on Cosmo's powers. Marine would probably be somewhere in best friend territory. Cosmo is pretty reserved and quiet and a little shy but Marine would be rambunctious about everything. So Marine would be dragging Cosmo around and showing her everything with so much excitement and Cosmo would just be overwhelmed with Marine being excited about every little thing. I think Cosmo would be spooked initially by Jet, Wave, and Storm. She knows more mammalian creatures like Sonic and friends and Eggman, so creatures with more birdlike features might be very new and strange to her. But I think they would sympathize with each other over being spacefarers from other planets. I think the Babylon Rogues would definitely have a soft spot for Cosmo after finding out why she had to leave her home. I agree with your other assessments too, she wouldn't like Metal Sonic and having to contend with Zavok either after or in addition to everything else would be very stressful and scary for her.

hiiiii! <33 i dont know if you are taking any requests but can you write a leon x reader in which the reader gets bitten? (i love drama lmaoo)
love uuuuuu<3333
Okay so I do have like a bunch of other stuff to finish in my inbox, but I tend to not do things in order of when I get them, I do them in the order of whatever I get done first (since I start them all whenever I get them and work on them over time) and whatever I'm getting the most inspiration for at the moment, and this baby right here: chefs kiss right now. I LOVE angst so much, it is my favourite thing to write.
Also I'm always open for requests! It's just a matter of when they get done, since like I said above, and also my final year of uni just started so oof. ALSO: Decided to do RE2 Leon oop... I hope that's okay!
I LOVE YOU TOO! Here you go bb,
Warnings: angst, blood/gore, injury, character death
Length: 2.8k (I- oop.)
Request: in the ask!
RE2 Leon Kennedy x Reader - Not you.
Your hand squeezed your thigh with as much strength as you could muster. It wasn't that it was hurting too much yet, you were still running off the shock and adrenaline from the events moments before that the pain hadn't yet settled. Dark blood oozed between your shaking fingers and coated your hand like you had just decided to dip your hand into a bucket of red paint. It was hardly sanitary considering the situation you were in, dirty and sweaty, having been going through the sewers earlier.
The undead man who had done the deed lay a few feet away with your survival knife Leon had given you stuck in his temple. You could see your own blood and flesh on his face, in his mouth. It was unnerving, and you usually wouldn't have noticed such a detail, except that it was your skin. Your blood. Your body.
You inched yourself towards the corpse and used the tip of your foot to make sure it wasn't still going to get back up. When it did nothing after a few pushes, you deemed it safe enough to take your knife back. With a few hard tugs, it dislodged itself with a squelch and you fell back against the wall behind you, exhausted.
The sudden sharp pain that run up your leg into your spine and made you arch your back for a moment as you stopped breathing forced you to pay attention to the wound on your leg. Hesitantly, you moved your shaking fingers away from the bite on your leg to take a peak.
There wasn't really a point to looking at it, you realized moments after you laid eyes on it. It wasn't going to fix anything, and there was nothing for you to assess. A bite was a bite, and you knew what it meant. Leon and you had seen what happened to Marvin. You yourself had seen a friend turn after being bit before you had gone to the RPD. So you knew.
The skin near the bite was incredibly hot to the touch, and even without touching it, you could feel the heat coming off your skin. Your jeans sported a hole where the bite was and you wondered if there was anything in your bag to cover it with. It was ugly to look at, and scary.
You let out of deep sigh as you closed your eyes. There wasn't much you could do but sit there. Leon was somewhere inside the NEST, and you were at the entrance. You weren't sure if you wanted Leon to find you dead or alive, but all you knew was that this was not something you nor him could fix.
It felt like hours had passed when Leon had shown up. But in reality, it had only been about half of an hour. Whatever was in the bite, whatever the virus really was, had done a number on you as you felt sweat bead at your forehead and slowly trickle down the side of your face. The furrow in your brow from the pain almost felt like it was permanent.
"Y/N!" He called out when he spotted you. He looked worse for wear, that was for sure. The way his shirt had been ripped on the sleeves, and the bandage you could see just beneath his shirt and RPD vest. He was caked in blood, sweat, and dirt too.
And yet he was a welcome sight for your tired eyes.
He quickly slid onto his knees and if you weren't in so much pain yourself, you would've winced at how harshly he landed on the hard floor, but it didn't seem like he was affected by it.
"I'm so glad I found you," he said breathily; he reminded you of a little puppy, and it made you want to squeeze him close to you, "what happened, what-"
Your hand squeezed your leg unconsciously and he looked down when you did so, his beautiful blue eyes resting on your bloodied hand and whatever you were covering up. His eyes looked back up to you almost hesitantly, asking to look. When a half-smile was your only response, he looked back down and focused on your leg.
His hands gently pried your fingers off your leg and he carefully let your hand go on your lap, giving them a squeeze.
"I'm..." he seemed at a loss for words, you would've been too, "I have to... Cut this away to see it better, okay? It's..."
Carefully he used his own survival knife to cut away at the pieces of your jeans, which were dyed deep red around the wound, so he could see it better. Your hand came up to his shoulder as he did so, peeling the bloody fabric away from it as much as he could without hurting you, and you squeezed his shoulder so tightly, fighting the urge to scream in pain. But he didn't seem to notice, or care, about the harsh grip you had on his shoulder.
"Oh. God..." it was said softly, almost as if he had no air left inside him to breathe, let alone speak.
"It's really ugly, I know," you tried to make the situation less dire, but it didn't seem to work, because Leon just looked at you with his big eyes, full of so many negative emotions.
"It's not..." even Leon didn't know what he was doing to say as he trailed off. He began searching through his pockets till he came up with a bottle of antiseptic that looked half empty.
"It's gonna be okay," he finally spoke again as he started to open the bottle, but your hand reached up and seized his own holding the open bottle above your leg.
"Don't use that," you pushed it closer to him and further from your leg, "you can't afford to waste that."
"I'm not wasting it."
You hadn't heard him sound so sure of his words, so... Angry. You hadn't known the boy long, but that was the first time you'd seen him react that way to anything. It made your push your lips together in a thin line, but you kept your hand on him, stopping him from using the antiseptic.
"I'm pretty sure we both know how this ends," you prompted slowly, "I don't think an antiseptic is going to fix it."
"The vaccine is here somewhere, it has to be," he stated firmly, "we just need to find it. It's going to be okay."
It wasn't that you didn't trust him, or that you didn't believe him. But how long was it going to take to find a vaccine? And how did you truly know you were going to find one? You didn't even know if it would work.
You didn't have much say when Leon moved to put your arm over his shoulder, and looked at you, counting to three before he helped you off the ground.
It worked initially: you had managed to stand up with the help of the rookie cop beside you, who kicked the zombie that had done the deed further from you two when you had gotten up. But it didn't last long, as pain shot through your leg and seemed to spread through your entire body. You could barely keep yourself upright even with his help, your body felt too weak to even function.
"Leon, I can't," you cried, falling back against the wall, "I can't."
"Damnit," Leon cursed under his breath, looking around him urgently before he left you against the wall to open a door across from the two of you.
He was missing for less than a minute when he came back out from the room and quickly came back to you. One of his arms reached under your legs while the other went to your back.
"I'm going to pick you up, okay?"
Ever the gentleman, even when you were definitely dying.
"My hero," you smiled softly but it came out as more of a grimace as he lifted you up like you weighed nothing.
You supposed training to be a police officer meant he wouldn't have trouble carrying fully grown human beings.
The room was dimly lit by a single lamp. There was a bed right across from the door, and a desk close to the door. Someone must've used this room as not just a study but a place to sleep. Like a bedroom.
Leon gently placed you on the bed in the room, being careful on how he placed you, and never taking his focus away from your leg.
"Okay," he breathed out pulling back, "I'm going to go find the vaccine. And then we're going to get out of here. Together."
It was a wonderful thought. It was the dream, right? For everything to be okay, for you to be fine, and for the two of you to get out of Raccoon city and away from this mess. Together.
And yet you knew it wasn't going to happen, you knew you weren't getting out of there. You knew you were dead. And it was a scary thought to have to face alone because you wanted so badly to live. To live with him.
He would've been out that door had you not reached your hand out and grabbed his hand as best you could, squeezing it as hard as you could.
"Don't," your voice cracked as you swallowed hard, the ache in your chest only growing when his pained expression met yours, "don't leave me. Leon..."
"But I need to..."
It was blatantly obvious to not only yourself but also to him that there wasn't anything he could do. Not anything he could do in time for you. He didn't even know what he'd be looking for exactly, but he'd go find it if he could. He'd do anything to help you. To save you, and keep you near, but there wasn't anything he could do. It was a cold hard truth, and one he so desperately wanted to avoid.
But he couldn't.
Not when he looked at you, and really looked. Not just second glances over your form and your leg that lasted seconds as his blue eyes frantically moved like they were trying to find something they couldn't. No, when he really stopped and stared at you, he couldn't avoid it.
Your skin was ashen and you were covered in a thin layer of sweat. Your eyes somehow looked like they had sunken in a bit, and looked dull compared to what they usually looked like. The way you breathed was alarming, it was shallow and sounded tiring, and then some moments it would speed up only to slow down moments later. You were in pain, and you were hardly there anymore.
"Y/N..." Leon's voice cracked, and you never thought you were going to see him cry. He held your hand back tightly and noted your fingertips felt cooler, "This isn't happening. Not to you."
"I should've paid more attention..." you said softly, "I don't... I don't want to die."
"I should've been here, I should've..." he exhaled through his nose, "damnit!"
"I'm not letting you blame yourself," you sternly interrupted him and squeezed his hand as best as you could, "not now. Not ever. None of this is your fault..."
Leon said nothing as he took to the ground beside the bed, kneeling right beside you. His face was close to your own as he leaned forward, his hand still holding your own tightly, which he brought up to your chest where your intertwined hands sat.
"Just..." you knew what you wanted to say but you didn't want to make the hurt worse, "just... promise you won't forget about me? And promise... Promise you're going to get out of here. Alive."
"I could never forget you," he said hurriedly as if he was offended you would have even thought he could forget you, "even if I wanted to, I could never..."
There was something there, between the two of you, that was trying to lay itself bare, but something was stopping it. There was something unsaid, simple words that were hard to say and had so much meaning, so much weight. But neither of you could say it.
If you did, not only would it be the first time, but also, the last time.
With your remaining strength you slipped a ring off your finger; it was an old thing, something that you had for a while and you didn't even remember why you got it or where you got it, but you always wore it just because. It had no sentimental meaning, but now it did as you pushed it into his hands. The look of confusion on his pained face made you smile slightly.
"So you always have a piece of me," you said, "and if you ever try to pawn that off I will come back and find you, Kennedy..."
His eyes trained themselves of the silver ring in his hands, it was so plain, just a band. But it was yours. It was you. It was all he could keep of you, he realized because this wasn't going to end with your life. Pocketing the ring, he took your hand again.
"I might just sell it then if you show up," he tried to make you smile, which it worked, but he also felt the need to reassure you, "I won't get rid of it. Ever."
"Good to know," you let go of his hand again and pulled out the gun in the holster that he had found for you in the station, inside was a round of ammo that you wouldn't need. Pulling out the ammo, save for one of the bullets, you gave him the rounds.
"What? What are you-"
"I'm not... Going to need this," you said, slightly out of breath from the pain you were in, "and I know they fit Matilda. But I'm keeping the gun, and one of the bullets."
It seemed to dawn on him what you meant by your final sentence and he frantically began to protest.
"Hey, wait, no," he shook his head, "no. I can... You don't have to... Let me."
It was the idea that you would have to shoot yourself that made him uncomfortable. The idea that you would need to take your own life upset him. But if you didn't want to turn into one of them, he would do it for you. He would... He...
"We both know you can't," you justified, "and I don't want you to. I could never ask you to. So, you go. You leave Leon, and you find that virus. You get out of here, and you live. You don't do anything stupid or reckless, and you make these bastards pay."
You were adamant, and you left absolutely no room for argument. Even if he wanted to argue, he couldn't. And he wanted to argue. But denial would get him killed, and you wanted him to live. And some part of him wanted to live for you.
"Alright," his voice didn't waver this time as he spoke, "Alright."
He placed his head against yours for a moment when he stood up and squeezed your hand a little tighter in his own when he grabbed it again. Softly, you placed a small kiss on the corner of his mouth and ushered him to leave. It felt like he was walking on hot coals the whole time as he walked out the door, he regretted it when he looked back at you at the door, like he was waiting for you to get up and go with him. It just made closing the door behind him a lot harder.
He hadn't really been keeping watch of the time since he arrived in the RPD. He didn't really realize how fast or how slow time was going. But at that moment, outside that door, he really felt the way time flowed. It was impossibly slow, agonizingly so, and it was deadly quiet. Something that happened in only moments felt like it had taken an eternity.
He was used to the sound of a gun by now. It didn't make him flinch anymore. But this time it did. It made his stomach clench and his jaw tighten, his body stiffens. He hated how it sounded more than he ever had before.
The piece of metal in his pocket weighed heavy as he ghosted his hand over it.
Leon was going to find who did this. He was going to make sure nothing like this ever happened again. But most of all, he was going to make them pay.

Subordinate - Tomura Shigaraki X F!Reader
Tumblr media
Wow, ok. Sorry for the lack of work. This story and the Overhaul story have been rewritten multiple times and I haven’t had the motivation to continue writing them for awhile, hence why they took WAY longer than expected.
Word Count: 1.6K Warnings: Uh, just kinda sad?
Tumblr media
You and Dabi had finally come home from an exhausting mission. It wasn’t a hard one, just annoying. If you thought about it, it was more like an errand that Shigaraki wanted you guys to do. Based on the game titled “Stardew Valley” that was in your hands, it was clearly just some dumb errand. Looking at the bar you saw Shigaraki talking to one of the new recruits, something about a mission for all the rookies.
You would be lying to yourself if you said you didn’t have a little crush on your scary boss. Maybe it’s because he screams “danger” that you’re attracted to him, but whatever it is you still like him. Love him? You’re not all too sure yourself how strongly you feel about him. You walk over to the man you call boss and hand him the game. You may not be able to see his face, but from the way he immediately stopped the conversation with the new girl you could tell he was excited. With a quick nod to you and a “we’ll finish this conversation later” to the girl, Shigaraki was off to his room to play his new game. “Later” to Shigaraki means days, so Shigaraki will probably be in his room for a couple days, maybe even a week, only stepping out to get food or use the bathroom. Which means you won’t be able to see him either unless he asks you into his room. The last person who stepped into his room when he was on his FNaF kick, well, you don’t talk about it.
You and Dabi shared a glance, a mutual understanding that had both of you heading to the bar and asking Kurogiri for a shot of vodka. “I can’t believe the boss tricked us into getting him a stupid game” said the raven haired man. You smiled and let out a small chuckle. “I mean he did make it seem like it would be dangerous. Either he was having fun with us or he was afraid we’d say no if he asked us to get him a game.” Kurogiri set the shot glasses in front of both of you. You and Dabi shared a little toast to your stupid completed errand and downed your drinks. Dabi asked Kurogiri for another shot, you weren’t too big on drinking so you said your goodnight to Dabi and headed to your room. You were one of the lucky ones who had their own room and you were thankful for that. Even though the walls are thin, you at least have a space for yourself that you can escape to and relax.
You closed your door and walked over to your bed to put your pajamas on. Nothing too flashy, just a pair of fuzzy pants and an oversized tee shirt. Another plus of not sharing a room, you could wear whatever you wanted. You flopped onto your bed and looked up at your dirty ceiling. You’ve tried to clean it before, but nothing ever works. Like the stains are permanent and it’s super unflattering. You may be a villain, but that doesn’t mean you want your room to be dirty. Alas your ceiling has been your greatest challenge with your room. Laying on your bed, you let out a sigh and closed your eyes. The whole Shigaraki issue was starting to bother you, how much did you like him? Did you just admire him or do you actually love the guy? What would happen if you told him you loved him? What would he even say? Lot’s of questions ran through your mind, but as more questions came you found yourself getting even more tired and eventually you were fast asleep.
When morning came you felt even tired than you did before you went to bed. Maybe all that thinking messed up your sleep. You rubbed the sleepiness from your eyes and changed into your usual clothes, brushed your hair out and headed out to the bar. You’d been wearing the same outfit for as long as you could remember, maybe it’s time to get a new one, or at least some different clothing items to add to your closet. Looking around the bar you saw no signs of your fearless leader, so you told the next best person. “Hey Dabi, I’m gonna head out, I’ll be back later.” you said as you put your shoes on. Dabi nodded, “Be back before 9 so we can have our traditional shot.” You laughed at his request and nodded. You put on a mask and hat and headed out the door. You’re not exactly a “famous” villain, but it doesn’t hurt to be a little cautious. Even though you were just out yesterday, it felt next to go out and nod have to complete some mission; or errand.
You didn’t have much cash on you, in fact all your money was just coins that you’ve picked up off the street. After 3 whole days of just searching for loose change you managed to get about $120 out of quarters and dimes. Of course you never told Dabi because he’d probably steal it on you.
Walking down the side walk gave you a peaceful atmosphere to think in. Maybe you could find an answer to your struggling feelings on how you felt about your boss. Boss. He’s your boss, does he even want a relationship? Would he even want a relationship with a subordinate? The man only seems interested in destroying the Hero Society, he probably hasn’t even thought of having a girlfriend.
You walked into the clothing store still with the questions flying into your mind. All unanswered questions. You shook your head a bit and started to walk around the store. Everything was relatively cheap so you could possibly get 8 or 9 items. Maybe even some small accessories. Would Shigaraki like you if you dressed more feminine? Maybe if you wore a little makeup? You sighed as you looked at the dress, even more questions you didn’t have an answer to. You looked through the sizes to see if they even had your size, most stores usually didn’t have it, but what can you expect for shopping in a nearly abandoned part of town. You smiled as you found your correct size and put it over your arm. It was a pretty dress so even if Shigaraki didn’t like it you could just wear it for yourself for when you go out. You walked around the store for a bit longer and ended up finding a couple shirts, jeans and a pair of leggings. You even found a necklace that would match with the dress! After buying the items, you asked the store clerk if you could change into the dress. The questions will be left unanswered unless you make an attempt to have them answered, so when you get back to the base you’re going to “confess” to your boss. Is it still a confession if you’re not certain on your own feelings?
You looked at yourself in the mirror and smiled a bit. The shoes clearly didn’t match but it’s not like you wear your shoes in the base anyways. For once you actually look like, a girl. You had been wearing such dark and tattered clothes for so long, you’re happy that you actually look feminine. Feminine. You blushed at the thought and looked away from the mirror. You really did have a crush on Shigaraki.
You had some extra money so you decided to buy some snacks for Shigaraki, maybe it’ll score you bonus points by giving him his favorite snacks. You held the bag tightly as you made your way back to the base, ecstatic to get back and finally confess to the man who has been running through your mind the past couple days. Will he be flustered? Will he be expressionless as always? Either way it didn’t bother you, that stone cold annoyed look made you like him even more. You liked your fearless leader; Tomura Shigaraki.
You took your mask off as you made your way up to the abandoned bar. How should you say it to him? Should you be blunt or try to give him hints? Shigaraki probably doesn’t have any experience with girls so hints might not work. You smiled at all the possibilities as you walked into the bar, taking your shoes and hat off you looked up to see Dabi on the couch. Your smile immediately vanished when you were met with Shigaraki and that girl he was talking to yesterday making out. You were frozen, was this really happening? Why? She just joined last week. You bit your lip and quickly walked past them, heading to your room. You stopped and looked down at the bag in your hand, looking at all the snacks that you had bought. You smiled a bit and hung the bag on Shigarki’s door handle, you wouldn’t eat them anyways so it’d be a waste. You made your way into your room and closed the door behind you.  “It’s ok, you were just confused on your feelings is all, it’s not either of their faults..” you said quietly. Your eyes started to fill with tears as you looked at yourself in the mirror. Did you really think this dress would win him over? It’s an ugly pattern, it has a couple holes in it and it doesn’t even flatter your body. You slide down your door and pull your knees to your chest. At least you can still be his subordinate. Taking orders from him as you watch him fall in love with someone else.
Because why would he like you?

Okay so I may have caught COVID (not sure I’m going to the doctor tomorrow) so to occupy my time I got a prime account and decided to FINALLY watch Promare.
Tumblr media
This movie has been on my Watch List since I first heard of it, which was before 2020 started.  I just never got around to it, till I realized I was going to be stuck in my room to avoid people :(
So I watched it... twice.  I probably will watch it again cause it’s the only movie I bought and I am not buying anything else.  So here’s a little review and my thoughts about the movie.  (Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen it)
So the plot I thought was very interesting.  For those who don’t know, the story starts with introducing “The Burnish”, a group of people who can create and control flames.  These people seemed to come out of nowhere and it started a whole movement for Burnish rights and it caused a lot of problems for society.  It ended, but The Burnish were labled as terrorists and do not have the same rights as humans.  (Harsh)
Our main character is a part of a group called the Burning Rescue.  Which is a group of fire fighters that deal with emergancy flames caused by The Burnish.
Tumblr media
The team includes: Lucia, Varys, Remi, Aina, Ignis the leader, and Galo Thymos.
Tumblr media
Now as I said, this himbo (Galo) is the main protagonist.  He’s a rookie in the Burning Rescue, and has a “Firey Spirit”.  He always goes off on some random speech and enjoys his job being a fire fighter and takes pride in saving people.  He keeps this mindset and energy throughout the whole movie.
He gets sent up a building to save people on the roof and meets a terrorist group called the Mad Burnish.  There aren’t many of them out now, but the top generals and the leader are still at large.
Tumblr media
(This was the first and only image I saw from this movie and I was so confused I had to see it... months later)
After a tense fight with the generals (Both noting that Galo is an idiot) he defeats them and takes on their leader.  The leader isn’t so easy to defeat, not backing down easily and even pinning Galo, but ultimetly he was taken down by the whole Burning Rescue squad.  Their leader is actually a very small young man who goes by the name of Lio Fotia.
Tumblr media
(I specifically wanted this scene so I looked hard for it)
Lio, who was mistaken for a child, is shown to be one of the strongest Burnish alive and takes pride in it.  Wanting nothing but rights for his people and will never stop fighting for that.
He’s actually a good foil to Galo for many reasons and why I like them being the protagonists for the story.  Galo is loud, over the top, and loves to show off his skills.  While Lio is more on the quiet side, and doesn’t really show off, more on the reserved side.
But the two are very alike.  Both feel the need to protect their people (Galo with humans and Lio with Burnish), but they don’t hate the other.  Galo wants Burnish rights while Lio vows to never kill humans.  They also share a god damn brain cell and 90% of the time neither of them have it.
So yeah, Galo gets a medal from his hero, Governer Kray, impressive prison break and all that.  We cut to Galo and Aina having a moment, which Galo realizes the Burnish had escaped prison.  He finds them in a cave and thus we learn more about the Burnish from their very leader, Lio, who remembers Galo, but Galo forgot him.
Tumblr media
(Fire go pew)
Lio explains to Galo that the Burnish are people too, even showing how disgusted he is by Galo thinking otherwise (some very racist viewpoints).  There Galo witnesses the death of a Burnish, turning her to ash.  Lio explains to Galo that the Burnish can hear the flames, they speak to them, wanting to burn more.  He also learns that his hero, Kray, was using the Burnish for human experiments, and calls Galo an idiot and to believe what he wants.  Then the Burnish run away and leave Galo tied up...
Galo’s whole view changes on the Burnish and see that Kray is conducting human experiments on the Burnish, even though they’re people like them.  The reason being that the Earth is gonna become a dead planet and everything is going to shit.  So Kray is going to take 10,000 humans to another planet and use the Burnish as fuel.  (Fucked up).
Galo goes against this and gets arrested.  Meanwhile Lio and the other Burnish are found and taken as fuel, but Lio’s loyal generals get him to safety (much to Lio’s disagreement).
Tumblr media
Lio goes into a full on rage and uses his full power to attack the city and Kray.  Telling him to free the Burnish, or watch the city burn.
Tumblr media
He takes the form of a dragon and damn near destroys the whole city.  He almost succeeds too, getting to Kray.  But of course Galo cuts in and fights Lio in an effort to calm him down.  Aina decides to drop them off by the frozen lake to “cool off” and discover a lab under all the ice.
They meet Professor Deus, the man responsible for all the cooling gear.  He wanted to help the Burnish, but was killed by Kray for disagreeing with him and his viewpoints.  Deus, who is now a living computer, tells Galo, Lio, and Aina about the “Promare”,  A group of aliens from another dimension who connected with a human, Burnish.  However the Promare feel what their human host feels, even extreme pain.  If Kray’s plan succeeds, then the Earth is gonna blow up due to all the pain the Promare feel.
It’s up to Galo and Lio to stop Kray from his evil plans (cause they happened to be there) by piloting the Deus X Machina.  Later on the suit gets a name change, Lio de Galon.
Tumblr media
A suit powered by a firefighter and a Burnish.  Both Galo and Lio work together to stop Kray.  Along with their allies they succeed in stopping the ship, but Kray was not finished.  He reveals himself to also be a Burnish, and kidnaps Lio, saying he was going to be the new core to the ship.  He then attacks Galo and sends him flying in flames.  But Galo was saved last minute by Lio’s flames, and now he plans to save Lio, with the help of his team, and goes into the core to save his new friend.
He makes it, stopping the ship a second time, and sees Lio is dying, turning to ash right before him.  Kray was ready to fight, but could not harm Galo due to Lio’s flame.  Galo punches Kray and says he’s gonna save Lio, stop the magma, and even save him.  Then we get the scene.  The scene.
Tumblr media
The “Kiss of Life” some like to call it, or just CPR.  Either way, it’s a pretty romantic scene.  Galo brings Lio to life and the two have a new plan.  Save the Earth.  Lio says the Promare want to burn out, so with the help of Galo, and all the Burnish, they create Galo de Lion
Tumblr media
This behemoth of a mech saves the Earth and everyone on it.  As well as burning out the Promare, sending them home.  The movie ends with everyone being okay and the end of the Burnish.  Thus the next plan, to clean up the mess they all made.  The End
Longer than I thought, sorry...  So what’s my thoughts?
Well let’s start with the animation.  It was done by Trigger (if it wasn’t obvious just by looking at it), and they go ALL out on it.  Everything is stylized and looks gorgeous.  The colors just pop out at you, nothing in this movie looks dull.  Action scenes are very fast pace and intense, and their calmer moments are beautiful and let you relax with the gorgeous scenery, everything is gorgeous in the movie.
The characers are pretty good, one complaint is that we don’t get to know some of them well, like some of the Burning Rescue.  We only get to know Aina out of the Burning Rescue team.  Plus a few other side characters, like the two Generals, Meis and Gueira, don’t get enough screentime, but I guess they weren’t the focus.
Tumblr media
Galo and Lio, again, were really good main characters, who play off each other well.  They both open each other’s eyes and see things in a different light, especially Lio who showed Galo what the Burnish are really like.  They do tend to argue and seem to disagree, but they are an amazing team.  We see that when they pilot Lio de Galon and together create Galo de Lion.  I do believe they fell for one another in the end, but I cannot say it’s canon since I don’t know for sure.
Voice acting was also great. I watched it dub, don’t kill me, and I actually think the dub was better than the sub, and this is coming from someone who watches subs more and is very biased.  Billy Kametz played Galo well, just giving off so much energy and really selling his performance.  I’ve heard people not liking Johnny Yong Bosch playing Lio, but he was perfect for the role.  Enough sass and emotion for Lio, I don’t think anyone could have done it better.  Everyone else did a great job as well, Alyson Leigh Rosenfeld as Aina, Crispin Freeman as Kray, and Steven Blum as Ignis.  Just... everyone did amazing.
Do I need to say anything about the soundtrack?  It’s beautiful and I love every song in this movie, I am listening to is as I type this review.  From upbeat songs like Inferno, to the saddest like Ashes.  Each song that plays puts the whole scene together, music makes the scene after all.  Gallant Ones is the most memorable example (plays during the scene) and it really sets the mood on how the characters feel about one another.  Ashes is really good in my opinion since it plays during the death of a Burnish.  But they all are good, if you haven’t seen the movie and don’t plan on watching it, go listen to the soundtrack, it’s worth it.
Overall I adore this movie, it’s over the top and super entertaining, keeping my attention the whole time.  It has helped me relax during this pretty scary time for me ^^;  I highly recommend this movie.  It’s got way too many good points that I dare say it’s one of my favorites.  It sold me on the plot and I stayed for the great and entertaining characters.  If you haven’t seen it (which I would be surprised) then go check it out.  If you want to see the sub then it’s on Youtube, but if I sold you on the dub then it’s on Amazon Prime, (you’ll have to pay for both and I’m too lazy to find it for free).
That’s all, thanks for reading my overly long review of this movie.

What do you want to see/read more with heroes and villains?
Oooo love this question. There’s probably more than I can think of at the moment, but I’ll give you three that come to mind.
1. More villain x villain combos. I really love this pairing in all its forms (villain x villain, villain x supervillain, henchman x villain, henchman x henchman, etc.) and even though I think people gravitate towards the enemies to lovers of hero x villain, there’s something about two evil people in love that appeals to me. I think I dominate most of the villain x villain tag (at least from what I can see), and I’m always longing to see what other people would come up with.
2. Actually bad villains. I love fluffy villains too, but sometimes I think there’a not enough truly villainous villains. Villains who may fall in love with the hero, but don’t automatically transform into a good guy along the way. @arealphrooblem and @the-modern-typewriter are really good at making this type of villain, and I think it makes hero x villain dynamics much more intriguing.
3. Scary heroes. Especially scary heroes x rookie/low-level villains. I like the idea of heroes who are truly terrifying to the villains around them. That criminals flee from them. And to the city they are the best thing that ever happened, but to a villain they are a nightmare. I don’t think we see enough heroes who strike terror into the hearts of their enemies. And I just think the pairing of a villain who should be scared of them but is actually just enamored is fun.

Recap:
-----------------------------
“Oh he didnt tell you?” Dabi smiled evilly, making your heart race. “We’re going out training tonight- just you and me.”
You internally screamed. What the hell Shigaraki?! He knew how much of a pervert Dabi secretly was- he didnt try that hard to hide it. SO why was Shigaraki trying to screw you over by placing you with this man you were slowly gaining reluctant feelings for?
“ Shigaraki thinks it would be a good idea for me to train you,” Dabi continued, hardly noticing the terror erupting inside you from being alone with him, “ since our quirks are similar. Help you feel out how to work alongside me once we put our plan into place.”
You simply nodded your head, trying to pretend you were cool and collected about learning this new information.
“Smart-alright, I’m in. I just need a place to change into my costume.”
“Oh, thats alright princess- I don't mind if ya do it right here. Matter of fact- I’d really love it if you do.”
-----------------------------
You and Dabi were standing in the middle of an empty field, the air around you warm and full of flaming embers, reds and blues mixing into purple in the night sky.
“Fix your form-your not focusing your power right.”
“Well maybe if somebody would stop dodging,” you panted out, your chest filling with slight annoyance,”I’d maybe- be able- to aim properly!”
You and Dabi had been doing this for quite a while, at least 30 minutes.
After that fateful day you had come to the LOV offering information for the Villian group, (particularly about Izuku Midoriya), in exchange for a place on the League, Shigaraki had been hesitant to let you join. But he had begun to realize you could be a good asset to the League of Villians after seeing how powerful your quirk could be. You had the look for a Villian: when you activated your powers, your body would turn a bright red, your eyes turning a deadly black color. Your powers were equally as interesting, as you could control fire on one side of your body while your other side was able to read the mind of anybody you touched. You went by “Demon”, and even though it annoyed Shigaraki to no end that you used a “stupid nickname”, he couldn’t avoid the fact that you could be good addition to the team. You were now training with Dabi under Shigaraki’s orders for your mission to invade UA at their summer camp, information you had generously given to Shigaraki as you were a student at the prestigious hero school.
“Or is it because your still flustered from changing into your suit?”
Dabi has moments ago given you your new Villian outfit, the feeling of the tight outfit restricting your breathing slightly with how heavy you were panting.
He grinned devilishly, making your already red cheeks redder. His icy blue flames came dangerously close to your skin, the scorching heat singing the tips of your hair.
“Watch it doll, we don’t want to be burning that pretty face of yours, do we?”
You threw him a dirty look, your chest heaving against the black material of your new suit. You were tired and overexerted, while Dabi stood there calmly, almost amused as sweat began to trickle down your fiery red skin: your quirk couldn’t last for long, no more than an hour at a time, and you could feel the power you had over it slowly diminish already. It took a lot for you to hold on to your altered form, which was something you had been working on at UA.
You shifted your feet, grounding yourself into the soft dirt. Even though Dabi was extremely attractive and a huge flirt, you wouldn’t allow him to make a fool out of you. You would use every last ounce of your power to make sure that he knew you were strong enough to fair against him.
“Well-“ you huffed out, “if somebody wasn’t trying to keep sneaking peeks like a perv-I wouldn’t have been all flustered in the first place!”
You threw a large fireball, the flames licking dangerously close to Dabi’s stomach, his torso swiveling a few seconds before it made an explosive impact. The flames hit a nearby tree, engulfing it in a ball of gray smoke as Dabi looked at you in shock.
“Guess I’m not the only one who needs to watch themselves, huh?” You snickered proudly at his dumbfounded expression.
Dabi shook his head, a deep chuckle rumbling in his chest. You were too damn persistent on one upping him-it was pretty cute. And that damn fireball was pretty powerful-he wouldn’t ever expect that much force to come from you. He watched as your face continued to hold that triumphant smile, even as your legs began to shake and your shoulders slumped from exhaustion. You were overexerting yourself, and he felt a part of him feel respect for you for putting up so much of a fight against him. He had to admit, as much as he was trying to play it off that he was in control, you were giving him a slight workout. They were obviously doing something right at UA, because a little newbie like you shouldn’t being fairing so well against an experienced Villain like him.
“You were lucky that time-I was distracted.” Dabi smirked again, letting his eyes travel up and down your body, allowing it to be blankly obvious that he was eyeing your form.
He was overly pleased with how your new Villain suit turned out- it was elegant, mysterious, and absolutely gorgeous on your figure. Not to mention that it hugged your body from head to toe. Dabi’s mouth was practically watering every time you did any type of maneuver that showed off your chest or your ass. Dabi’s mind was deep in the gutter, imagining what it would feel like to grab you. He loved to imagine how it would feel to coax sweet little moans out of you, to let his hands travel your body like he had wanted to do for so long.
Something about you made you irresistible to Dabi, as if you were this rare gem that had fallen into his life that he wanted so badly to be his.
“Distracted?” You panted, straightening your back as you tilted your head. “Or just looking somewhere your weren’t supposed to?”
Dabi shrugged, that proud smirk still plastered in his face. “Maybe a little bit of both.”
Your eyes looked down, your mouth biting the tender skin on the inside. Every Time he flirted with you, you got overly flustered-it was like Dabi had a hold of your precious feelings and he toyed with them like a hobby. You huffed out your breath, your lips in a slight pout. You wouldn’t let him get into your head-not that easy.
Dabi’s hand twitched, the image of your lips plumped out like that making his body go into overdrive. You had the most gorgeous face he had ever seen- with your lips moving all so prettily like that, he couldn’t help but just want to eat you up right then and there.
You let your feet leave the traction of the dirt, running quickly to charge him. Your body engulfed in flames, your hand and suit on your right side lighting up in a flurry of red and orange. The sweet night wind brushed against your skin, making the fire crackle and spit dangerously as you tried to land yet another hit.
Dabi dodged each one with ease, as if he had been anticipating each one. You grunted, swiveling your legs around in a crouch. You wanted so badly to prove it to him, to yourself, that you were worthy of a place in this team.
“Why are you trying so hard, Demon?” Dabi asked calmly, as if reading your mind. “Have something to prove?”
“No-“ you lied, wiping a bead of sweat off your forehead, “just feeling like kicking your ass a little.”
Dabi smirked, licking his bottom lip. God, why was your determination so goddamn hot to him?
He looked down at your body, noticing that your skin wasn’t a fiery red anymore- a few patches of your skin were turning into your original pigment, like paint being smeared off of skin. Dabi smirked-you were tired. How precious.
He quickly threw a blue flame your way, making you shriek as you dodged it.
“Dabi, what the hell-“ you yelled in shock.
Dabi swiftly grabbed your arm, now dangerously close to you now. His figure was towering over your smaller frame, his eyes scanning your body.
“You sure it’s just about beating me?” He interrogated in a low voice. You gulped, those icy blue eyes glaring into your soul, the warmth of his hand dangerously close to burning your skin.
“Or is it because of something else?
You stayed quiet-you couldn’t possibly tell him why you were trying so hard. You couldn’t even figure it out yourself. You knew you were so happy to be doing exactly what you knew you were capable of-but the past kept surfacing in your mind. The name calling, the fear, the suppression you faced because of how scary your quirk is-hell, your own family were terrified of you applying to UA because they didn’t want the world knowing who you truly were. They argued you to stay home, to go to a normal high school, not one meant for hero training.
“It’s safer,” you remembered your mother saying, “nobody will bother you if you don’t use your quirk.”
You knew they were just worried for you-your quirk did have many giving you strange stares once you activated it, some cringing out of terror. You were called names all the time, many of them unpleasant-everyone who knew of your quirk seemed to think you were a monster. And even if you did get someone who seemed more interested than scared than you, you’d always get the same remark-
“You’d make a very good Villian.”
“How’s UA doing? Having fun at your little Hero school?” Dabi broke through your thoughts, his low, silky voice sending a shiver down your spine as his grip tightened slightly.
“UA is….doing,” you shrugged, not wanting to gaze into those blue eyes. Everytime you looked into them, you seemed to lose all control over yourself.
You tried to use Dabi’s little small talk to get out of his intense hold, yanking your arm away with sudden force. Dabi seemed to anticipate your movements, as he quickly yanked your arm again, a quiet gasp slipping out your lips as he pushed your back painfully into his chest, immobilizing you.
“Just doing? Seems to me you're hiding something,” he snickered huskily into your ear, loving how flustered you became. Your heart was pacing, your legs shaking-the hold you had on your quirk was slipping as Dabi overpowered you. You shimmied harshly, only getting Dabi’s hold on you to be stronger.
“I think I know what’s going on-you want to prove your not a hero,” Dabi grinned devilishly, loving the feeling of your body against his, “You want to show your different from them. Why is that Demon?”
His voice was so calm and silky: he knew he was in control, and he was drinking up every second of it.
You huffed, a single strand of hair falling in your face. Those few words were sending your body into a frenzy, a sudden heat flooding your chest at those simple words. But even though Dabi was turning you into a flustered mess, unwanted Memories began to flood in your head:
You remembered Getting into UA and being put into Class 1B, the excitement and slight disappointment filling your body-your classmates crying in shock when you transformed for the first time, some shouting why you were even in one of the Hero courses if you looked so scary.
You remembered the way the teachers tried to cover you up, your hero suit completely covering your skin as if it wasn’t right for you to show off your quirk, at least just a little bit.
That whole school reeked of superstition and prejudice.
How foolish you were to think being a hero would gain you acceptance in society.
You grunted again, trying to get out of Dabi’s tight hold.
“Let’s just say,” you chided,
“I was a little demon thrust out of hell.
Because the Devil couldn’t cope with me.”
Dabi let those words sink in, absorbing each syllable you spoke.
He smiled, a chuckle rumbling out his chest, the vibration causing your back to shiver. He knew exactly what you were going through-you hated this world, this world that shut you out for being different.
“I’ve never heard truer words, dollface.”
Dabi let go of you, surprise flooding your body. You turned around, rubbing your arm, the skin beginning to turn back to your normal pigment.
Dabi stared down at your annoyed face, a soft smile unlike his usually seductive, lazy one gracing his bicolored lips.
He had never related to someone more, and it somehow being you made a strange sensation fill him. He still found you unbelievably attractive, the imprint of your body forever ingrained in his mind, making him wish you could stay close to him forever-but he now just wanted you for more than that. Something about you made him go crazy inside, this electric attraction he just couldn’t ignore.
You looked back at him, confusion plastered on your face-his smile was so much more...tranquil, blissful. He was looking at you with such adoration it made your heart palpitate and flutter with each passing beat.
“Why are you looking at me like that Dabi?” You smiled weakly, a blush creeping on your cheeks.
His slender fingers found themselves to the crook of your chin, raising it so he could see more of your beautiful face in the moonlight.
“Just wanted to see my little Demon a little better,” he grinned, that ever creeping blush making his insides go wild.
“What do you mean your-“ you began, but couldn’t finish as Dabi’s lips rammed themselves onto yours.
The kiss was anything but soft-it was rough, full of raw, unfulfilled emotions Dabi had been feeling for so long. His lips were strong, the scarred skin and metal prickling into your tender skin. But he was holding back-his wasn’t trying to overly touch you, which would surprised the hell out of you if you weren’t completely in shock.
You were tense, your brain going a million miles a minutes. He was kissing you? You knew he had some strange thing for you, he had made it panifully obvious, but you assumed it was a joke, a little game he liked to play- nothing serious that warranted this kind of desperate kiss. You were also terrified-doing this with Dabi muddled your plans-it created an emotional attachment you didn’t want.
You were scared of being rejected again like so many other times for being yourself.
But Dabi had accepted you, right? He was never phased by your transformation-in fact he seemed in awe with it. He didn’t treat you differently, or make you feel strange in your own skin-but then again, he was a Villian. He could be doing that to somehow get something of value out of you.
You felt your left hand itch, the hand that allowed you to look in other peoples minds-to see their deepest desires in that moment. Fear bubbled in you-this whole time you had been fighting with just your fire dominant hand from a far range. Your left hand scared you, it being the side that was harder to control for you. Who knew what you would see in Dabi’s mind? Were you ready to see whatever desires he wanted?
“Fuck it,” you thought blindly-you wanted to know, to get these confused emotions sorted out.
You tentatively kissed back, liking the roughness against you as you slide your shaking digits through his soft black hair.
An instant rush came over you, a blinding white light taking your vision whole.
Everything became hazy, the outer linings of your vision turning suddenly dark, gold flecks dancing across your eyes.
Your voice hitched, watching the blissful dream-like scene in front of you.
You were meet with another version of yourself, but instead, you were dressed in intricate black lingerie as you lounged on top of Dabi’s bare chest you both were sitting on a plush bed, your hips grinding into Dabi’s own. You were feverishly kissing his scarred neck as his hands traced every curve of your body hungrily, breathing moans of his name escaping out of you like a mantra. Both of you were so intense in your make out session, it was as if you two had never touched another person in your lives.
Before you could even process the scene, your sight instantly turned brighter as began to witness another desire.
You looked as you were again in something revealing, but not as sexual. This time, you were wearing a white shirt, it’s fabric loose around your body, it’s length stopping around your mid thigh. Something about that shirt was very recognizable: you craned your head for a better look, the unmistakable v-neck having to be Dabi’s own white shirt on your body. Your legs were tangled with his as you laid on his chest, the look on his face so blissful and sweet you couldn’t help but feel your heart swell.
Another and final blinding white light took over you, this time seeing something strange-it was an actual memory. It was the first time you and Dabi were alone together, you singing to one of your favorite songs as you were putting away papers for Shigaraki. Dabi has walked in on your little solo song session, you being too wrapped up in the lyrics to be that embarrassed. You had laughed as he rolled his eyes, expecting him to walk away like he did in real life.
But instead, he walked up to you, grabbing your hand, and twirling you around, bringing you gently close to his chest. He held you like that, your face a wreck as he chuckled. He had whispered something in your ear, making your eyes wide as he pulled you into a sweet kiss, the hazy lights quickly turning into black.
Your eyes shot open, all the images swarming into your head so quickly it made you feel dizzy. You instantly pulled away, feeling your chest begin to tighten as you stared at Dabi’s slightly confused face, that lazy smirk still on his lips.
“The hell was that?” he asked, malice gone from his voice as he looked at your now completely human form: it seemed like using your quirk sucked out any energy you had left.
“I-I,” yiu gulped, pushing a piece of hair away from your face, “I used my left side on you-I looked into your mind-“
“Huh.”
He looked towards the side, a thoughtful expression on his face. He didn’t really mind you looking in there-at least you knew how he felt towards you now. But the one thing that was concerning him was the last scene-he remembered that day, how he had found you so adorable, he just wanted to pick you up and never let you go. He wanted to tell you everything then and there-how attractive he found you, how you were so incredibly hot he couldn’t stand it, how he loved your personality and the way you got flustered-he loved every part of you, and wanted you to be his. But he didn’t-his emotions were too guarded. He didn’t want to be seen as weak, so he let that perfect moment go and he had been kicking himself in the ass for it ever since.
“I’m sorry,” you apologized, swallowing thickly. He was too silent-you were terrified that he was angry with you for doing so intimate without his permission.
To your surprise, he smiled that mischievous grin that made your heart go crazy.
“No worries dollface,” he grinned, “I’m just happy we’re on the same page.”
“Now what I’m wondering,” he continued as he snaked a hand around your waist, pushing your body back into him, “is if you think the same about me?”
To your surprise, his voice wasn’t confident-he sounded almost nervous about your answer.
. “Maybe…,” You grinned, your voice shaking as you placed your hand again behind his head, “does this help?”
You then leaned your face, connecting your lips once again, feeling a delicious warmth fill your body. Dabi was this intense rush, with the harshness of his lips while his hands being so gentle, as if you were so delicate he could break you. His warmth was intoxicating, making you melt into his chest. You couldn’t breathe, the sensation and the smell of him turning your head into a fuzzy haze.
Finally, you were forced to part, both of your breaths a soft pant.
Dabi was in love with this-he desperately wanted to touch you more, to feel every part of you, but he knew he needed to take it slightly slow for you. Dabi knew he had to be a least a little patient-you were new to this lifestyle, this change in morales no matter how stubborn you were to say it. He didn’t want to overwhelm you- you had to walk before you ran. And right now, Dabi was surprised he was okay with this-you were intoxicating to be around, and just having a little intimacy was good enough for him.
“What were you telling me,” you asked in a daze, your feathery light voice making Dabi’s heart skip.
He cocked his head slightly in confusion, letting a hand rest on your hip.
“In the last scene,” you asked, “when you whispered-what did you say?”
He chuckled, that rumble in his chest making your chest tighten.
“I just wanted to know if you wanted to be mine,” he asked nonchalantly, as if it weren’t such a big deal.
“And what did I say?” You asked, your finger beginning to trace the outline of his collarbone.
His grip tightened on your hip, knowing full well you two were headed in dangerous territory if you kept up with touching him like that-you were making too damn hard to control himself.
“Yes,” he said through slightly gritted teeth, everything in him keeping from grabbing a handful of your ass.
“Huh-guess that little fantasy was right,” you smiled, bopping his nose delicately.
“What the hell?” His face instantly turned confused, a sweet laugh exploding out of your chest.
“Your so cute when you're startled,” you said between giggles, not noticing the way Dabi was looking at you with hunger in his eyes, his tongue licking his bottom lip.
“Ya know what would be even cuter?” He asked, his voice low and rough.
You hummed a response, your pretty eyes boring into his, making his stomach do a flip.
He grinned devilishly, knowing full well that what he was about to say would throw you for an unnecessary loop of emotions he had no remorse for doing.
“If we re-enacted that first little scene-think you’re up for some lingerie, dollface? Cause I know I am.”

War heros
Bangalore x fem!Reader
Please bare with I've never done f x f xD
Warnings: War things, light swearing
Gonna make a war up and countries up cause idk what goes on in that department don't wanna know. But you live in New York xD
Set in a war before apex legends thingy
You stared at the road going by quickly, the rattle of the truck making you more nervous as you approach. This war has been raging for months, they keep sending troops over and they never come back, seems like the rookies were next, you were next. You stared at the broken and smoking buildings in the distance. You were meant for this, not this side of things, you only defused bombs in little hostile situations, not ones in big ass wars raging through big ass countries. You watched the others around you, heads low, looking at family photos or their weapons. You stared at the weapon in your lap, you've only fired these a few times and that was horrible.
"Base ahead!" The driver yelled making you bite your lip harder. The truck slowly stopped and one by one you all stepped out and were led to the rows of tents. You looked around your eyes burned by the wounds on the soldiers, their looks of fear, sorrow and pity. You were led to a larger tent, a small symbol above it. You stood in the line a woman's voice shouting at everyone before she came into view.
"What the hells going on?!" She snapped the woman next to her looking terrified as she babbled on. The tall, broad woman stood straight and confident as she scanned the line of you. You gulped her eyes intense and her body posture intimidating.
"Rookies?" She questioned her voice going quieter. The man by the desk nodded with a gruff huff, the woman sighed and walked forward.
"Right soldiers, this war isn't getting any easier, we've got men in the south holed up and surrounded, men in the west who are just about dead and us in the east right here" her finger landed on the map.
"Were the last good base standing in this goddamn thing and if we don't hit the front soon, we'll might as well dig ourselves a grave" she sneered.
"We move forward tomorrow at 0600, be ready, Francis here will go over everything else" she pointed to a man and walked off her shoulders tense. As the man went through everything your mind clouded with regret and fear, this wasn't a place for you. Wasn't a place for anyone.
You were shown around the camp and soon led to your quarters, you sighed sitting on the uncomfortable excuse for a bed. You looked around seeing the grim looks on everyone, Hell might as well be now.
You didn't sleep, couldn't, the shuffling, groaning, coughing and wailing. As soon as that bell rang you were all moved out, shown the map and told exactly where to go. Three groups were spread out over the front line, Alpha, Beta and Delta, two taking a side and one in the middle. You were in the middle, clamped together with this scary woman leading you. As the first shot rang your heart stopped, your body didn't move as the bullets rang. You were frozen ignoring the shooting and the gunfire before someone lunged and hauled you down to cover.
"Soldier!" She snapped her voice pissed as she tapped your face. Your eyes focused and you grabbed your gun and aimed some sort of autopilot going on. You laid down cover fire as the men moved not really hitting anything before you came back to reality. You took a deep breath and hid again your mind fuzzy and your breathing difficult.
"Hey! On target soldier, now!" The woman snapped making you snap back without thinking.
"You can do this I can't!" You growled.
"I'm a damn bomb defuser for the city's not this goddamn place!" She eyed you for a second something unknown in her eyes as you lashed out. You froze realising you had just yelled at the commander.
"I-" a shot went by your head and she pulled you flat to the ground with her.
"Got 4 men to my 11" she shouted over the comms as more men came over.
"Clear!" Someone yelled.
"Alright, hustle and move forward!" You all moved upwards thinking you were clear. You ducked as soon as gunfire started again. Gripping your gun you aimed and fired your mind blank and unthinking. The woman stayed by your side keeping you both low and covered as you fought. By midnight it was quiet, no more shooting and dead body's covering the enemies ground.
"First shift" the woman called as the soldiers sighed and sat down. You frowned and stood up to go for the first shift. You couldn't think, couldn't speak.
"Bangalore, got a call" a man said to the woman. You took note of her name and watched the area. You looked up to the sky as the stars shimmered, something beautiful in this hell.
As days went on you grew weaker and stronger at the same time, killing became... Easier, the gunfire the shouting became nothing but a buzz and everything around you became nothing but a familiar place. You had been out of line many times, shouted at the hero Bangalore more than once for being angry at you all the time. You didn't know why, but your mouth just said whatever your mind thought and that got you into trouble, more than once.
Watching the perimeter you frowned seeing silent movement in the buildings. You checked around seeing the soldiers counted for, you slowly crept forward checking the through the broken window before sneaking in. You climbed the stairs gun ready as you moved softly. You felt someone grab you and your gun being cut off, you yelled into the hand covering your mouth when you heard smoke canisters. The body holding you dropped as did you, and soon gunfire and cries came out before nothing but silence came. You were grabbed and dragged down some stairs and out into the open. Everyone looked at you and you cursed knowing the grip on your arm. You shrugged her off ignoring everyone and going back in to grab your gun. You sat on the roof still watching till you heard footsteps.
"Soldier" you sighed inwardly hearing her voice.
"You, yet again, disobeyed an order" you rubbed a hand down your face.
"I saw movement, at least they're dead now" you muttered head in your hands.
"You can't be so damn risky!" She snapped. You looked to her, her brown eyes stern and staring you down. You backed down first not bothering to fight her.
"You're a bomb defuser you don't know how to win a gunfight" she said walking a little closer.
"Wasnt my choice to come here" you sneered.
"You keep that tone up and you'll be back home or dead" you frowned, why was she treating you like a damn child? It's been months now and she still insists on pesting you.
"I don't need you scolding me like a child, Im a grown woman forced into this situation, you may be able to handle it, but I can't, I don't do gunfights I work in simple situations with only the pressure of defusing the bomb nothing else, no shooters, nothing" you sighed running a hand over your dusty hair.
"I just-" you sighed standing up and stretching.
"I'm going to get shut-eye" you muttered and walked away unknown of her eyes watching you intently.
Morning rose quickly and everyone began to move again, the western base was going strong once again and it seemed like the hope of winning was there.
You were ambushed halfway, two groups either side cornering you into buildings. You had counted everyone a forced habit, you didn't see Bangalore though, you snapped your eyes outside seeing her with a bullet in her leg and limping to safety. You sneered and yelled for cover fire as you ran out and helped her into the opposite building. A grenade was thrown into either building, many cries we're heard from the other building as you and Banglore took cover.
Ringing in your ears finally died down as the dust settled, you spoke quietly over comms, but nothing came back.
"We gotta go" you quickly grabbed her and ran out the back. She groaned as her wound oozed with blood with each step. You huffed going to the nearest building and setting her down. You checked for enemies quietly for minutes till you were safe, for now.
You cursed and checked her leg, you saw the bullet shining in there under the blood and glanced to her.
"Take the damn thing out" she sneered. You nodded and gulped going through your small medkit. You grabbed some large tweezers and prepared her. She bit her tongue and groaned as quietly as she could as you pulled the bullet out. You quickly dropped it and grabbed the bandages. You wrapped her leg up tightly so she didn't lose any more blood. You sighed once you finished and sad against the rubble. She had her eyes closed, trying to not focus on the pain. You heard yelling outside and held your gun close as footsteps went outside. You let out a breath and went for your comms again. You tried over and over and you thought the worse, as did she.
Night fell and you kept watch while she slept. She must have passed out while you were trying to reach anyone. You looked to her, strong features, a soldier's face and body. She looked calm though, her sleeping form less tense and on edge, like everyone was. She could actually sleep in this situation, lucky her.
"Stats?" She said making ou blink quickly and stutter.
"Nothing" you muttered.
"Get some rest, I'll keep watch" she said and grabbed her gun, you shook your head, you didn't sleep.
"Very well" she muttered and sighed.
"Where did you live?" She asked suddenly her eyes with a little curiosity in them.
"New York" you chuckled.
"Heh" you cracked a smile and your heart skipped a beat.
"How about you?" You asked.
"Out in the country, on a farm" she smiled like she was remembering memories.
"My pa and I ran it together, we'll mainly him I just played with the dog" she chuckled as did you.
"What about your mum?" You asked, her face saddened and you nodded.
"Sorry" you whispered.
"Died when I was 10, car crash" you nodded clenching your teeth.
"My parents died in a car crash too" you signed.
"18, barely finished high school" you said grimly.
"Sorry" she whispered making you nod.
"My names Anita, Anita Williams" she said after some silence.
"Y/n, Y/n Y/l/n" you smiled.
The days got rougher, you needed to get back to base, her leg was getting infected and food had run out. Water was scarce and any connection was hopeless. You carried her every day and most nights, he limped holding onto you while you pushed every damn minute to keep her alive. Some form of feeling forcing you to get this woman back safe and alive. By the seventh night, you collapsed on the ground, her falling with you. You were exhausted and out of energy, she groaned lifting herself up and you with her as she took you both into cover. You snapped yourself awake and went to go when she grabbed you.
"Sleep, we both won't make it otherwise" she said her voice serious and her eyes full of concern. You collapsed by her again, sighing as you learn back. Your eyes closed and soon you fell into a deep and much-needed sleep.
You some up comfortable, surprisingly. You frowned and opened your eyes, a steady heartbeat in your ear and a shallow rise and fall of breath. You saw long legs and a bandage and quickly froze. You sat up Anita glancing to you quickly.
"You good?" She asked. You stared at her your cheeks suddenly burning from the contact. She frowned at the look as you quickly got up and scouted around, trying to ignore the way your heart pounded. You looked at the map, you needed to go west still, a far journey. As the days got hotter you started resting more, giving up hope more. You let Anita rest every hour and scouted the buildings for anything useful. You tried contacting base every night and tried finding routes for your best approach. You and Anita grew closer, a soft and quiet bond forming. When you fell asleep you always woke up either on her chest or on her lap, one time fingers ran through your hair while she thought you slept. Your heart beats faster every time you looked at her or she looked at you.
By the thirteenth night you were giving up, her health deteriorated quickly along with yours, hope seemed gone and you only had each other.
In a building, you checked every channel begging for a signal, something. You glanced back to Anita her eyes had darkened and her body was failing her. You yelled in frustration as you got nothing but static, you felt years roll down your eyes as you burst finally. Someone touched you and you flinched, you quickly looked up and Anita pulled you to her. You cried feeling lost and hopeless. She would die as would you in this damn land without a goodbye to families or anyone knowing. You felt like connect with your head and you looked up, an uncertain look in her eyes before her chapped lips met yours. The kiss was needing and heartfelt, so many emotions, apologies, everything. You both pulled apart foreheads leant against each other when you heard shouting.
"Signal came from here!" You frowned hearing a familiar voice.
"Francis" she muttered. You got up quickly looking over the roof. Francis and his group were on the ground.
"Hey!" They all looked to you guns pointed.
"Y/n!?" You nodded and waved as they began to run. You walked back to Anita holding her against you, a smile on your face.
"Were gonna be ok" you whispered as her eyes closed.
"We'll be ok" you added.
You stayed by her bed as she laid perfectly still, you watched the slow rise and fall of her chest as she breathed, you were both alive, back at the base and alive. Apparently, you had been in the main base vital for information and a promised win even. However, your mind was elsewhere, Anita, laying still and relaxed. You both went through a lot those days, but it brought you closer, so much closer.
You rested by her bed your eyes closed when you heard a low groan. You snapped up seeing her eyes flutter and her body move. She frowned and looked around before looking to you. You beamed your hand holding hers as she gave it a tight squeeze.
"We made it" her voice was hoarse, but she smiled. She pulled you closer with a light tug and you smiled. You kissed her again, now healthy and very much living and a hope for living.
"I said we would" you murmured leaning your forehead against hers.
"I said we would" you whispered.

All the lights followed
Gwen Stacy x Male Reader
Summary- I was wondering if I could request an imagine where Spiderverse SpiderGwen comes into contact with venom becoming Gwenom and she’s dating the reader who is the son of Captain Marvel and helps her bond and work together with venom via music and stuff
Tumblr media
You and Gwen are craving pumpkins in the kitchen at your house. You and Gwen have been dating for a while now. Gwen is having fun carving pumpkins with you.
”So when do you want to meet my mom?” You asked.
Gwen starts to stutter and feel nervous.
”You really want me to meet your mom?” Gwen asked.
You and Gwen start to uses the knives and crave the pumpkins.
”Yeah. She will really like you and I want you to meet my mom” You said.
”I guess I can meet your mom,” Gwen said.
”Do you really want to? I don't want to force you” You said.
”Y/N, I mean it I want to meet her. I feel she might not like me” Gwen said.
”She gets along with everyone. She will see that you make me happy” You said.
You never really told her that your mom is a superhero. But Gwen knows that you have powers.
”Show me your pumpkin,” Gwen said.
You showed her your pumpkin and you tried to make it look scary. And she showed you her pumpkin.
”Mine is better,” You said.
You and Gwen laughed, she tried to make her pumpkin look scary too.
”You wish, Y/N,” Gwen said.
You and Gwen put the pumpkins in the living room.
You showed her your sketches of the suit, you have been working on. She looks at the drawings and you wait for her response.
”Y/N, they are better than good. I like how you go into details and the colors are good. And the mask is not that bad” Gwen said.
”Thanks. It's hard to make a decision about which suit I should start working on” You said.
Right now, you have a rookie suit. And you definitely need an upgrade on the suit, because it's black hoodie with your sprayed paint symbol, black, and navy sneakers and a mask the covers your eyes only.
Later, that night you and Gwen start to patrol the city. You and Gwen went to to the lab called Life Foundation owned by Carlton Drake.
There is trouble, you and Gwen to stop the bad guys from stealing something. You used your photon blasts on the bad guys, then Gwen used her web to tie them up. A guy ran towards Gwen, grabbed her slammed her against the wall.
Gwen sprayed her web on his face then she punched him in the nose. Then she used her legs wrapped around his head, then flipped him onto the ground. You run towards her and touch her cheek.
”Are you okay?” You asked.
”Yeah. I'm fine” Gwen said.
”Let’s split and check the building making sure there aren't more thugs,” You said.
”Okay. I take the lowers floors and you go higher” Gwen said.
You nod. Gwen is in the lab, looking around and she doesn't see anyone. She noticed something black in a tube, she walked closer to it. But she didn't notice the tube is opened towards the end. The symbiote jumped towers Gwen’s face.
She starts to scream then the symbiote disappeared and her heart is racing.
She just ran out of the lab, she starts to swing rapidly to arrive home.
You searched for her then called her, but she didn't pick up. So you sent her a text
You- Gwen, I couldn't find you. Text me back to let me know you are safe
10 minutes later
Gwen- I'm ok I'm sorry I just left
You- it's fine
She didn't text back and you didn't text back either, you let her rest.
What just happened Gwen felt terrified. Her heart is still beating fast and she tries to calm down.
Why is your heart racing?
Gwen got scared and looked around and she is alone. She goes to the bathroom and washes her face.
You have abilities, interesting. We will get along just fine.
”Why am I hearing a voice?” Gwen mumbled to herself.
Venom appears and Gwen is feeling even more terrified. She tries to get him off her but it's useless.
You are my host
”Your what!?” Gwen yelled
I am a symbiote and I need a host to live. So you are my host, Gwen
Gwen didn't know what to say, she is feeling very speechless.
✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯
Gwen has been ignoring you and you feel, you did something wrong. You saw her and went up to her.
”Gwen, did I do something wrong or did I freak you out asking to meet my mom?” You asked.
Let's eat him. I'm hungry
”No” Gwen
”No what?” You asked.
Gwen left because she doesn't want Venom to hurt you. But you followed her to her house.
”Gwen, please talk to me” You plead.
”I don't want him to hurt you,” Gwen said.
Venom starts to smell something hidden in your jacket. He appeared and you got scared, your hands start to glow. He grabbed the chocolate and starts to eat it.
”What the hell is that!?” You yelled.
Venom and I am a symbiote. She is my host
”That's why I have been distant. I tried to fix the problem on my own” Gwen said.
Your hands stopped glowing.
”You don't have to feel alone. I will always be there for you” You said.
She kissed you.
Barf
You look at Venom and he is staring at you.
”What can he do?” You asked her.
”I don't know yet,” Gwen said.
”Show what you can do,” You told Venom.
Venom formed himself around Gwen’s body and you are impressed.
”Wow, you look cool. Let's go patrol and see what you can do” You said.
You and Gwen patrol and Venom starts to show what he can do. Venom almost ate someone but you and Gwen stopped him and explained why he can't eat people.
~A few days later~
Gwen is gradually getting along with Venom. She mostly feeds him chocolate and tater tots.
You and Gwen went to the mall, Venom has a habit of scaring people. You would laugh what he does. He scared a few kids and you laughed. Gwen smacked your arm hard.
”What was that for?” You asked.
”For scaring them. That was really mean to do” Gwen said.
You rub your arm.
”It was funny, right V?” You said.
Let's do it again.
Gwen sighed.
”Babe, admit it was kinda funny,” You said.
Venom nods.
”Little bit. But don't do it again” Gwen said.
Party pooper
Later, you and Gwen watch music videos on YouTube. Venom asked so many questions and when he hates a certain type of song, he would smack the phone out of your hand.
Much later, you and Gwen patrol the city again. Gwen is not using her old outfit anymore. You are still working on your suit. You and Gwen start to save people inside a store from a thief.
”Venom, we don't eat them,” You said.
They are bad guys
”Put him down now,” Gwen said.
Fine
Venom puts him down. The others are safe and Venom didn't eat anyone.
Later, you and Gwen spend time at your place. You throw food and Venom starts to catch it.
”Let me try,” Gwen said.
You and Gwen start to throw food and venom start to eat it.
✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯
Gwen is feeling very nervous tonight is the nights she will meet your mom.
”Babe, it will be okay. Don't overthink it and Venom, please behave” you said.
”I really want her to like me,” Gwen said.
”She will,” You said.
Gwen followed you into the house, then you introduced her to your mom. Gwen is speechless and Carol smile at Gwen.
”Y/N, I'm so happy you finally got to bring your girlfriend around,” Carol said.
”You are Captain Marvel! I'm a huge fan. I admire what you stand for. Y/N you didn't tell me she is your mom?” Gwen said.
”I didn't you want to freak out even more,” You said.
”How about we go to the backyard and let's grill,” Carol said.
You and Gwen followed Carol to the backyard. Carol sets up the grill and you take out the food. Carol starts to grill the food and she starts to ask questions to Gwen.
”I know about you two patrolling the city,” Carol said.
You never told her.
”H-how?” You asked.
”I saw your homemade suit in your bedroom. Gwen, your mask is hanging out of your purse” Carol said.
”Are you mad?” You asked.
”No. I always knew you wanted to help people and be a hero. Please, you two be careful” Carol said.
”We will be careful,” Gwen said.
After grilling the food, Carol puts the food on the table. Venom appears and Carol isn't scared of him. Carol and Venom stare at each other
”What is this an alien?” Carol asked.
”His name is Venom and he is a symbiote. He acts like a child and he is always hungry” Gwen said.
What is this?
Venom starts to eat the food.
”Yeah, we have a hard time keeping him on track,” You said.
”I can tell,” Carol said.
Gwen when to use the bathroom.
”Y/n, I like her. I never seen you smile so much before” Carol said.
”She is different and special to me. I'm beyond happy that you like her” You said.
”Treat her right. She should see your baby pictures” carol said cheerfully.
Carol grabbed the baby pictures when Gwen came back Carol showed her your baby pictures.
”Mom, seriously why” You whined.
”Y/N, you look so cute in this costume,” Gwen said.
”Y/N was three years old and he dressed up as a dinosaur. And this picture right here, he was six years old and he tried to make his own sandwich but instead ruined the whole table with jelly and peanut butter and got some on his hair” Carol said.
”Mom, please stop,” You said again.
”I’m actually having fun looking at your baby pictures,” Gwen said.
Carol went on telling stories about you as a kid to Gwen. Even Venom is looking at your baby pictures.

Young Justice: Deathly Weapons  - Chapter 1: Chance Encounters
| Young Justice X Danny Phantom Crossover | Post YJ Season 1, Post DP Season 3 (No Phantom Planet) |
NB: After this chapter I’ll be posting new releases as excerpts with links to avoid potential spoilers. Find the full story at Fanfiction.net // Archive of Our Own
Chapter 1:  Chance Encounters
Looking down the deep shaft of the high speed elevator – a shaft that was conspicuously absent from the 2 story building’s official blueprints – the three young heroes had to admit that there probably was something to the Batman’s suspicions about Project Cadmus.
Then again, investigation was why they were there.
As he descended the shaft, feeling the vibrations in the cable as Aqualad and Kid Flash swung themselves down after him, a small part of Robin fumed internally.  So they were “not trained”, “not ready”; supposed to “stay put” like good little kids while The League handled the big scary jobs.  What a load!  Yes they were young, but they definitely weren’t some greenwood rookies who needed to have their hands held!  And that was why they had come to Cadmus.  To prove themselves.  To beat the League at their own game; solve the case before their mentors even started looking.   Sure, Bats was going to be less than whelmed when they got back, but if they did the job and did it clean then what was the harm?  Besides, he smirked; it wouldn’t be fun if they weren’t a little reckless.
But back to business.  They had bizarre genetics lab to investigate.
Reaching the end of his rope, Robin swung himself towards the shaft door of Sublevel 26, alighting on the ledge.  Activating the holo-screen of the computer in his glove the Boy Wonder tapped into the local network, diving into the coding separating them from the facility.
“Bypassing securing… there.  Go!”
“Welcome to Project Cadmus.”
Things were definitely pushing the far boundaries of weird. The large elephant-troll-like creatures that had nearly stepped on Kid Flash hadn’t done anything to convince the three heroes that Cadmus was normal.  Even stranger was the feeling of shifting fog that had filled their heads at a look from the small, gnome-like beasts on the trolls’ shoulders.  The fact that they hadn’t been in the building for more than 5 minutes before being spotted wasn’t helping either.
As they moved towards the large metal door at the end of the hallway, the Boy Wonder had to admit that the fire above ground was a perfect diversion.  With eyes drawn to the emergency at street level, there would be fewer people on alert for movement in the deep lab.  With luck they would be able to get in, find what they needed and get out without causing an incident.
A few more lines of code on the holo-screen and, once again, the door lay open.  The team gaped at the sight of the room.  Glass cylinders stretched to the ceiling, the glowing creatures within buzzing and crackling as they supplied power to unknown machines.   The eerie blue light cast deep, distorted shadows around the room, nearly concealing the computer bank at the centre.  And the smallish, black-and-white clad figure standing there, typing quickly but furtively at the keys.
Looks like someone else had had the same idea.
The heroes froze, stepping back into the shadows. Contact with another person was definitely something to avoid, though the individual was currently occupied by the screen. Robin gave him a quick once over.  Young, probably the same age as themselves.  Pure white hair, fair skin and a black jumpsuit - possibly a chemical protection suit - accented by white gloves, collar, boots and belt.  A faint white glow seemly surrounded his person, although that could have been trick of the strange light.
“Great,” the mystery figure scowled at the screen “not only do the Fruitloops chase us all around the country, now I’m playing ‘Where’s Wally?’ with samples in a freaky lab.”
He glanced upwards, scanning the room nervously.  ‘So, he’s not meant to be here either’ Robin noted, keeping as still as possible. Neon green eyes pierced the gloom, locking onto the Boy Wonder.  They both froze, stiffening as they waited for the other to take action.  The stranger stayed rigid, his eyes flickering away, picking out the silhouettes of Kid Flash and Aqualad.  Robin noticed another flash of white - some kind of symbol on his chest.  The boy suddenly exploded into action, twisting to the screen, rapidly opening and closing files before ripping a small thumbdrive from the console.  Eyes wide with panic he sprang away from the computers, vanishing into thin air.  The three heroes felt a gust of wind, something passed them at great speed.
Then he was gone.
Robin exhaled shakily, torn between relief and greater anxiety. He shared a nervous look with the others.   If they were going to investigate Cadmus they had to do it now, before any more unpleasant surprises showed up.
Kid Flash looked around the room, searching for a place to start. The speedster gestured towards the electrical, beetle-like creatures in the glass tubes.
“This is how they hide this massive underground facility from the world.  The real Cadmus isn’t on the grid.  It generates its own power using these… things. Must be what they’re bred for.”
Robin nodded.  Cadmus was the mission.  The mystery boy could wait for another time.

The Training Day Moment That Won Denzel Washington an Oscar
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
In Training Day, Denzel Washington’s undercover detective Alonzo Harris is playing the long game, and edging both sides against the middle. “This shit’s chess, it ain’t checkers,” he explains to Jake Hoyt (Ethan Hawke), the rookie cop being led down the road to perdition. As another Denzel copper learned in the 1998 Satanic thriller Fallen, the devil often appears in the least likely of guises. For Training Day, Washington plays against type to lay out the temptations of easy money and real, street legal power. Alonzo may not have nabbed Jake’s soul with his opening gambit, but he walked away with an Oscar thanks to this scene.
Throughout the movie, Alonzo maneuvered his impressionable trainee into a place of rage which was both personal and professional. Before the movie begins, Alonzo was given 24 hours to deliver a cool million to a bunch of pissed-off Russians, and the corrupt cop was ready to leave young Hoyt with the bill. The “hot-headed” Alonzo killed a man on a weekend trip to Las Vegas only to find out later that the victim was connected with the Russian mafia.
Meanwhile Jake lands on Alonzo’s proverbial board green behind the ears, and tempted when Alonzo promises to designate him as a “hero” shooter in a raid that left a major drug dealer dead. Harris gave him the designation, along with a fistful of cash, in a bid to buy his soul; the alleged raid was a ruse and setup, orchestrated to steal enough money to pay off the Vegas debt, with enough to spare to take care of all the agents on the inside. It all hinged on the sacrifice of a pawn. Or in this case, a white rook named Jake.
All the other cops on the LAPD’s undercover narcotics squad are happy to pocket their cut. One of the cops takes two bullets for it, one of which goes through his armored vest, in order to sell it as a plausible story of “justifiable homicide in the line of duty.” Jake doesn’t want to be set up as a hero in a case of armed-robbery-with-a-badge, and turns down Alonzo’s payout flatly. He even passes on the promise of a fast-track to detective class which comes with the deal.
There’s nothing more dangerous or unpredictable than a clean cop. But like Lucifer looking to close the deal with Faust, there’s always a different tact. Alonzo apologizes for the “ugly” realities of the real world, even as he explains, “You gotta have a little dirt on you for anybody to trust you.”
Alonzo has been trying to besmudge the narcotics team applicant from the moment Jake showed up for work, but the move had been in play long before that. The “Zig Zag” man makes Jake smoke a bowlful of some mean green with a PCP sheen while cutting off four lanes of traffic (with a non-verbal service revolver retort for anyone complaining of delays).
Alonzo proceeds to get Jake to drink on the job, question his marital fidelity, conduct a search with a takeout menu passing for a warrant, and endure several unnecessary beatings. It is a grooming process, which is wasted on the stubborn youth.
The entire operation, as we come to learn, is to make a score and retain control of the streets. This is a team effort, and everyone has to take one for the team. Peer pressure is a hell of a thing to throw at an aspiring, professional underling, and the Satanic sergeant tosses it like salad in a three-course meal: Do the drugs, take the money, own the streets.
When the rookie narc wannabe breaks a chain of command, which has been handed down by the three Wise Men themselves, Alonzo plays god, the serpent and the King of Kongs to bring the sheep back into the fold. His unholy commandments are set in concrete. The two-man dialogue in the below scene is a diabolically convincing breakdown of common sense coppery. Jake sees Roger (Scott Glenn), the ex-cop and now ex-person left on the floor of the raid, as Alonzo’s friend who the superior killed “like a fly.” But the veteran drug cop knew Roger as “the biggest major violator in Los Angeles,” who he watched “operate with impunity for over 10 years.” Alonzo believes his justifications. “This is the game. I’m playing his ass. That’s my job. That’s your job.”
With this, Alonzo lays it out bluntly, plainly and without room for misinterpretation: Detective Harris is a master ass player, a virtuoso of undercover infiltration. The audience knows Jake has been played as expertly as Roger. Manipulated like some figure on a checkerboard square. Washington sells this idea completely. We do not doubt his sincerity, as evil as the concept is. The character is slick, a little intimidating, and an irresistibly magnanimous prince of a guy. But the actor has one extra weapon in his arsenal, and it is hardly concealed.
Alonzo Harris was Washington’s first villain role. The part is made more deliciously seditious because it subverts everything the performer had thrown on film sets and theaters stages his entire career. Washington excelled in playing men who held themselves to a higher standard. He shed one tear as the ex-slave Private Trip fighting with Union soldiers only to be whipped, publicly, for insubordination in Glory (1989). It would mark the first time he won an Oscar, although in the Supporting Actor category.
He took the blows of apartheid-loving, government-sanctioned sadists as South African activist Steve Biko in Cry Freedom. Washington’s naval executive risked court martial to avert nuclear battle in Crimson Tide (1995). His homophobic lawyer risked the stigma of social alienation to find justice in the age of AIDS in 1993’s Philadelphia. Perhaps, most markedly, his charismatic naturalism embodied the Nation of Islam activist and title character in Spike Lee’s Malcolm X (1992).
There is no practical way to measure the intangible effects respect, adulation, and natural leadership has on a viewer. By the time Training Day came out, Washington was already a mentor, and an inspiration for extremely talented actors. Audiences trusted him and afforded him a gravitas rarely achieved by some of the most seasoned of performers. Hawke’s character is fully primed to continue his education as the squad intended. We accept Alonzo Harris as a veteran who knows exactly what it takes to live through that job.
Washington performed in theater productions, including Othello, When The Chickens Come Home to Roost, and Dark Old Men. He would perform his most audacious Training Day scene in the round. His voice can be heard at the top of the tenement windows which replace the nosebleed seats, when he screams, “King Kong ain’t got shit on me.” But the intimacy of his scene with Hawke, in the car Alonzo calls his office, rounds out the performance with false bravado and quiet desperation.
He is solicitous, empathetic, reasonable, and completely twisted. Alonso knows he seems jaded, and he gets the young officer’s idealism. He was the same way. But when Alonzo fell from grace, he ruled the underworld. He cuts corners, takes graft, hassles kids for free smokes, but he’s got a conviction record which is measured in years, not human lives. It’s scary the first time, taking the money. But it’s how things get done: from the inside.
Det. Harris ranks as one of the greatest villains in cinema history. Washington looks likes he’s having a ball playing him, and Antoine Fuqua crafted an amazingly realistic playground for his moves.
“It takes a wolf to catch a wolf,” Alonzo advises during his tenure in the film. Lone or in a pack, Washington is the alpha dog in Training Day. His bark’s impressive, but it’s got nothing on his bite. Denzel unleashes a devil in a badge with a hellhound on his trail. He can’t rig all the games, but the Oscar was a sure thing in an unsure world.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
