Are you stumped with how to pray for our nation & city?  Not quite sure how to get God involved in your home and workplace? Exhausted with obstacles and the schemes of the enemy occurring in your life? Join us at School of Prayer we will learn together our authority over these situations and how we are equipped in Jesus, to apply that authority.  

Many times we are exhausted and defeated because we don’t even know the weapons of spiritual warfare. You do not want to miss this dynamic experience that will catapult you into the next level of your prayer life.



When: September 23rd from 8:30 am to 12:30 PM

Where: Bldg. 500 (Gym) 14240 N 43rd Ave, Glendale, AZ  85306

Food: Light breakfast and snacks will be provided.


Cost: There is no charge for this event 



Format: There will be three sessions, one hour in length that will break out with 20-25 minute teachings, and 30-35 minutes of round table workshop/lab.  The purpose is for us to take the message and have some steps/tools that we can apply immediately at our tables.


Theme: "Prayer and Spiritual Warfare" Ephesians 6:10-18 


Speakers: 


Paul Covert - Spiritual Warfare as it effects the Nation & Our City. 
Paul is the Pastor of Prayer Development at Pure Heart and Catalyst.  He loves helping churches, and individuals grow in prayer.  
 


Samson Dunn - Spiritual Warfare in our workplace and at home. 
Lead Pastor of Catalyst Church 
He has lead this inner city church from 250 to become one of Phoenix's inner cities 
“Mega Churches.” Catalyst now has two campuses’ and the church is built on prayer!  Prayer is so central that they stopped many of their ministries so they could emphasize prayer more strongly. Samson is a no nonsense energetic speaker that you will love learning from. 
 


Bill Stewart - Spiritual Warfare as it affects us personally. 
Pastor of Pastoral Care at Pure Heart.  Bill has a heart for walking with those experiencing the woes of life.  Bill has a seasoned approach in equipping people with tools that leave them feeling empowered in their authority as a believer in Jesus.

11:30 - Third Session - Spiritual Warfare as it affects us personally.  Are there attacks that are unique to each person? What is a stronghold and how does it affect my life?

#prayingthepsalms - The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want or be in need. #Psalm 23vs1 Friends! I cannot tell you how many times I have prayed this Psalm in my lifetime. It is my go to prayer when I am feeling lost in direction, when I am in need or lacking anything, when I am afraid and in need of protection, when I am troubled by the events of life that I totally unprepared for, when I am seeking peace from the troubled world, when I'm about to go to bed and too tired to pray. The School of Prayer is for anyone who is excited to expand and enrich their prayer life. Each discussion will guide you through an interactive experience of the power of prayer. Child care will be provided.

Our Speakers:

David Jensen Dave's first prayer ministry involvement was in college in 1979, and he has been attending Pure Heart since 1990. At Pure Heart Dave has served in: children's ministry, missions, benevolence, training in spiritual gifts, ushering, teaching, and prayer. He leads a Life Group and has built the Altar Prayer team. Dave is a chaplain at Pure Heart. He and his wife Elena have been married for 37 years, and they have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. See his website at www.TriChaplain.com.

Pastor Roger Hornbeck Pastor Roger has been in pastoral ministry since 1980, most recently as pastor of Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Flagstaff, Arizona. He received a B.S. degree from Portland State University and a Masters of Divinity from Western Conservative Baptist Seminary in Portland. Roger also serves as the Spiritual Director for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship of Arizona, mentoring and coaching young Christian leaders at the three State Universities.

Roger has the privilege of coaching the small groups at Pure Heart. Roger’s passion is to see people connect with God and grow in their relationship with Him and others. Roger, and his wife, Sharon, have been married for 38 years; have four amazing children, 3 children-in-love, and 6 delightful grandchildren. Together, they also care for two mentally disabled ladies who have been a part of their family for nearly 11 years. Roger and Sharon have attended Pure Heart since 2012.

Brenda LaChance Brenda has been married for 28 years and has two grown sons. Her relationship with the Lord began 22 years ago and she will be forever thankful for her salvation through Christ Jesus. She has been a guest speaker at Community Church of Joy and Pure Heart Women’s Ministry. Brenda has also taught several biblically based classes on being Christian in today’s culture and how to make the Word of God come alive in our lives. She is currently teaching at StreetLightUSA.

“I attended Pure Heart’s School of Prayer last September and found it awe inspiring.  During this event I found the atmosphere encouraged me to put my faith into action.  By encountering such seasoned teachers, who conveyed the practical aspects of prayer, I was able to step out of my comfort zone and into areas of the prayer work at Pure Heart.  The School of Prayer was my ice breaker, so to speak, that helped me become comfortable to serve in the various areas of prayer.  I believe the School of Prayer would be instrumental in helping others “break the ice” and begin to step into areas of prayer that God would call them to.”
