Ulysses knew what he was going to do after a month of not seeing Tisha. He was going to explain that he went to the deep seas for his work, and tell her about whales, and some potions he brought back that he had in his knapsack that he can show her right now if she had the time. And oh- ask if she sculpted anything recently.

Instead, he was at her door, easily remembering where he dropped her off that New Years Eve night. When she opened the door, he observed her with widening eyes. It was not that she looked particularly different, but he did not expect feeling such a tug in his heart as soon as he saw her. Finding no words, he leaned forward and held her chin, and before greeting her he closed his eyes and went for a kiss instead.

“Conan!” Tisha smiles up at Ulysses, clearly surprised to see him show up at her doorstep. She’s used to people coming and going, especially with the kind of lives they lead - vampires disappearing and reappearing like the tides, werewolves who need time alone, witches disappearing into the ether and then popping up for tea. “Look at you! Where have you-”

She goes quiet as his hand reaches out for her, and finds herself curling an arm around his lower back, tugging him close as his lips meet hers. “Oh.” Tisha mumbles as they part. “I… missed you too.”
