“You dont want kids? I said the same thing at your age. You’ll realize later.”
“You’re trans? You’re too young to know that. You’ll grow out of it.”
“You’re an atheist? You don’t actually disbelieve, you’re just mad at god. One day, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess.”
“You’re a leftist? You’ll become more conservative eventually; every generation does when they come into contact with The Real World™️”
“You’re gay/ace/queer? You just havent met the right man/woman yet.”
If you say any of the above things give me your personal information so i can harm you
edit: the terfs found this post. Y’all fuckin KNOW a teenager saying “give me your personal information” is a joke. You’re literally just being vindictive to have something to say.
anywaysy crazy how u guys r aligning with people who like theocracy and homophobia and heteronormity just because you hate trans people. It’s almost like you, my fellow hoes, are really damn predictable.
Edit 2: i love how after that first edit terfs mysteriously stopped interacting

I know I've probably said this before but I will always be in awe of the moral fortitude of people who leave religion over bigotry. The strength of character it takes to look at a system that you've been told your whole life is perfect, was (depending on the religion) created by the universe's only law-giver, not to mention it's probably the system every authority in your life adheres to. The strength it takes to look at that and say "No. This isn't right." I adore you.

If god is unable to prevent evil, then he is not all-powerful.
If god is not willing to prevent evil, then he is not all-good.
If god is both willing and able to prevent evil, then why does evil exist?
If god created everything then that means he created evil. And if that is the case what does that say about god?

if we’re not going to abolish private schools can we at least force them to secularize. they straight up didn’t teach us science. all the fantasy books aside from narnia were banned from our library for “witchcraft”. my fifth grade teacher straight up told her class that the spanish colonizers were good because they brought “the natives” to jesus. “freedom of religion” ends where children’s right to an education begins

Quebec Premier François Legault is being accused of hypocrisy for an Easter Monday tweet in which he credits Catholicism for "engender[ing] in us a culture of solidarity that distinguishes us on a continental scale."
Legault was quoting from a column in the Journal de Montréal by columnist Mathieu Bock-Côté titled "Praise of our old Catholic background."
Twitter users and politicians were quick to criticize Legault for seemingly praising Catholicism while his government preaches secularism.
"You have a duty of reserve and neutrality as premier of all Quebecers in our secular state," Marwah Rizqy, Liberal MNA for Saint-Laurent and official opposition education critic, responded in a tweet.
"We all write tweets we regret," she wrote, as she asked him to delete it. [...]

There is great irony in the fact that the modern process of stamping out religion produces countless caricatures of it.

And this is one of my problems with the secular worldview. Let's forget the fact that it masquerades as the "neutral" perspective unbiased by all that "religious" mumbo jumbo that can be removed to give the "real" explanation.
To be blunt, it kills curiosity by reducing complicated concepts and meanings to plain, simple, supposed fact in order to dismiss ideas without having to confront the religious perspective.
Aren't you curious as to why hundreds of millions of people have painstakingly gone through the trouble of learning to pronounce a language they can't even understand in order to recite their holy scripture? Does it spark no interest whatsoever that entire buildings have been made in order to properly and respectfully dispose of manuscripts that have a particular name written in them? You hear that people have willingly died protecting an object that looks just like something they ate for breakfast that morning, but they swear it was different, and no investigative instinct is piqued?
I don't understand why you would so utterly disregard what people you disagree with have to say. It sounds like a prison of smug, self-assured ignorance.

When I am on my couch crocheting 225 granny squares to make a blanket and my partner is next to me coding a video game he is making for hours at a time I remember we are really no different than our ancestors. Just funny monkeys in love with using tools and making stuff! Using our hands! Just like our ancestors hundreds of thousands of years ago, I’m just like them fr.

You don't get to make me obey your religion for the same reason people of other religions don't get to make you obey theirs.

The hijab controversy too has its roots in the Indian concept of religious exceptionalism. To resolve the controversy, the Indian state will need to abandon the pseudo-secular approach & rely on an approach based on the dual pillars of respect for individual/institutional rights.

hey parents. never fucking name your kid “christian” or other religious titles. you failed “respecting my child’s self agency” before they could even walk.
if that kid grows up to be an atheist—which it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to be prepared for, because your kid is their own person and not a mini-you—they might understandably hate it.
My middle name is “grace” after the grace of god, and at least in my own experience, it’s just a reminder that my parents had already demanded me to fit into their mold and check all their boxes on my own birth certificate.

There is nothing worse than wasting your beautiful youth in an islamic country, where people strip away your humanity, objectify everything about your existence and villainize you for choosing how to live your life and it's all because you're a woman. I can't wait to leave this hellhole and feel alive once again but I don't think i'm strong enough for the wait. I'm only 20 and I know i'm still young but the immigration process is getting harder as we speak and realistically speaking, it's gonna take me up to 10 years to get my diploma and immigrate to a different country. Rip me
