Fire Emblem Sibling Duo Tournament: Round 1 - Match 14
Tumblr media
Propaganda for both duos under cut:
Julia & Seliph:
they don’t know they’re siblings when Seliph immediately steps up to look out for her
Delthea & Luthier:
Arguably the most realistic FE siblings. They get on each other's nerves quite a lot, but at the same time the love they have for each other is clear as day.

✨ Despair not, God is everywhere✨
My piece for the Fe Small Artist Zine! I drew Seliph using the "miracle" skill and of course I went with flower symbolism with a touch of sentimentality. The flowers are juliennes and their meaning is above.

Woops my hand slipped, fanchild for Ishtar x seliph
info i have so far on her
Luxia E. Baldos Chalphy
“Luxia” is a pronvince is Spain. Latin in Origins, it means “A Bright Place” or just “Light” but written in feminine form.
The heiress apparent & Princess of Grannvale
Major Holy Blood of Bladr, Minor Holy blood of Naga
Father: Seliph Baldos Chalphy
Mother: Ishtar of Friege
While not naive or unknowledgable, Luxia can be impulsive and prone to believing things literally, or taking people at face value at times. And can be stubborn and temperamental like her mother, but just as loyal and forthright - often times a little too honest unless it comes to more emotional matters outside anger.
While younger, Luxia was bright and quite bubbly, and very friendly. She has the same behaviour of taking things quite literally and adored her parents, admiring both of them greatly and believing her mother to be the type of Queen she herself wanted to be for her people. Knowing nothing of her mothers past nor much of her fathers outside the grand tales as they both stayed quite hush hush,  or rather, not much outside the gossip Luxia would overhear from still disapproving servants about her mother or people gushing about her fathers exploits, which made her curious later in her life.
Despite no Major Thrud Holy blood, Luxia was always encouraged to sport things that played on her heritage of Friege by her mother, and did not want to see her daughter completely be left in the dark about the general history of her side of the family. Luxia was otherwise raised into Chalphy and typical mainland Grannvale traditions. She also grew a fondness for the Levine Sword later once dawning her own weapons of choice to fight back against the invasion that would strike in her younger years, while never quite grasping magic the same way her mother had, she has an admiration for Magic users who can wield Thunder magic like Ishtar had done through study and natural possession.
Everything was decided via punnet square of genes we know of from the characters and coin tosses on the blood at random. Those lavender hair genes are strong.

Not finished with chapter 10 yet because I need to emotionally prepare myself for that last battle, but anyway.
That chapter opening sure was something. Just in case we needed reminding who the villains are.
This has been kind of a breeze so far, so I’m just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Though I did not enjoy the preview of what fighting Julius is going to be like.
My favorite minor character type is apparently “Velthomer/Imperial commander with barely concealed contempt for the people they have to work with”. Obviously I adore Aida, but I enjoyed Ridale being totally fed up with having to take orders from a Loptyr bishop.
There’s so much to dig into in Seliph’s conversation with Oifey. How much Oifey misses Chalphy and the people he grew up hanging around, and the contrast with Seliph never having set foot in Grannvale. (Born in Augustria, raised in Silesse [briefly] and Issach...he’s got roots all over Jugdral, doesn’t he). But of course what I’m the most interested in is the mythology that’s sprung up around him and his father. Obviously the empire is in bad enough shape that it shouldn’t really be surprising that there’s a hero cult around Sigurd (or that people are speculating that Arvis is Loptyr) but what’s really interesting is how universal these ideas seem to be (where’s the empire’s propaganda?). And Seliph’s clear discomfort at the idea of being hailed as a savior is one more reason that I love him.
Particularly interesting because surely Julia is the obvious savior (as Julius points out, all Seliph inherited was Baldo blood), but of course she’s been missing/presumed dead for years.
Also fascinated that apparently the prevailing belief is that Seliph is a reincarnation of Sigurd? Something to dig into their about Gen 2 as less their own people than continuations of the previous generation’s battles and trauma. (And also the really obvious history repeating itself--or at least rhyming--with Sigurd and Deirdre and Seliph and Julia).
Feeling some kind of way about how Arvis is apparently just hanging out in Chalphy.
I’ve said before how much I love the extremely extra magic animations, but Hel in particular is great.
Leif is still only level 13, but also he can’t double consistently even with a Speed Ring, so I’m trying to work with what I’ve got.
Delmud is really the unsung hero of the last few chapters--he’s not as flashy as the other paladins, but he’s level 26 (though Paragon is helping with that).
To no one’s surprise Larcei was the first unit to hit level 30.
Having insane shrimp emotions about Arvis, and I haven’t even had to fight him yet. For now, I’m  just distraught over his last conversation with Julia.
And saying he wanted to talk to her for hours, but all he can do is give her Deirdre’s circlet and try to get her away... everyone is doomed and no one ever has enough time.
Again, this is true for everyone in Gen 1, but Deirdre deserved so much better.
