Kokomi: Yup, of course I will! Kokomi: I’ll tell you about Orion to start off, because it’s the easiest to find, okay? Kokomi: The Orion Constellation is the one there with the three stars side-by-side in it’s center… Narration: Sparkle sparkle! ???: You called our names. And now we’ve found you, Hoshimori! You: Huuh?! W-What was that voice…? Kokomi: Sensei, that voice came from the skies!! Anko: W-Who… is someone there?! Narration: Sparkle… sparkle sparkle…!! You: Uwaaa!!  I-It’s so radiant! Kanon: Hey, what’s going on?!

Kanon: Nnn…! Renge: Huh? Where are we…? ???: Are you all the Hoshimori? You: Uwaaa!! W-Who’s there?! ???: We are the personifications of the constellations. ???: And thus, I am the personification of the constellation Orion. Orion: We heard the story of the Hoshimori through the gods at a Shinto Shrine, and so we have a request to ask of you all. Orion: We’ve summoned you all here, to the City of Constellations, where we incarnations of the constellations pass the time. Renge: Ahh. In that case, it must have been Miki-chan.  Renge: She’s the one always saying we’re doing the work of the gods.

Kokomi: Orion-san, you said you had a request for us, what in the world could it be? Orion: That would be… well, to light up the winter night sky for us constellations. Orion: We work hard every day, which creates a fair bit of trouble for us. Kanon: Trouble? What might that be? Orion: This has been our sole life’s work for hundreds and hundreds of years, so… Orion: We think we’ve earned a bit of a vacation.

Anko: No vacation for hundreds of years… what kind of darkness would that bring to a person… Kanon: There’s no doubt, it’d be good for you to get a break. Orion: But, if we were to take even one day off. Orion: The night sky would lose its brilliance… Orion: So, we want you Hoshimori to fill in while we take our break. Orion: Do you think we could ask you to work in the City of Constellations for us? Anko: I see… that makes sense, I guess.

Kokomi: If the constellations are in trouble, I’ll lend you all the strength I’ve got without question! Anko: Wha- hold on a second! Kokomi! Anko: You’re seriously going to fill in for a constellation?! Anko: I don’t think it’s good to make promises like that without fully thinking it through. Kaede fumbled with her house keys, rushing to get inside. It had been the coldest week of winter so far, and she wanted nothing more than to relax in her heated house.

As she entered her home, she instantly detected a delicious smell from the kitchen.

“Welcome home, Kaede!” Sadone exclaimed from the kitchen as Kaede removed her coat and shoes. She walked into the kitchen, greeting Sadone with a kiss on her cheek. Sadone smiled, and went back to searching the fridge.

“What are you making?” Kaede asked from her bedroom as she changed her clothes.

“I’m making some ramen for dinner, is that okay with Kaede?” Sadone asked as Kaede walked back into the kitchen.

“O-of course…” Kaede stuttered, followed by a giggle from Sadone.

Kaede sat down on the couch, pulling a knit blanket onto her lap as Sadone handed her a bowl of ramen and sat next to her. Sadone grabbed another blanket and laid it down on her lap gently. As they ate in a comfortable silence, Kaede began to feel a shiver creep up her arms.

“Sadone, are you feeling cold at all?” Kaede asked as she pulled the blanket over her arms.

“Yeah…is Kaede cold too?” Sadone asked, rubbing her arm.

“A little bit…is the heating on?”

“I’ll go check!” Sadone exclaimed as she stood up. She had been standing near the small machine for a few moments, a confused look plastered across her face.

“Kaede…it doesn’t seem to be working…” Sadone stuttered. “I’m sorry, this must be my fault…”

Kaede got up and laid her hand on Sadone’s shoulder.

“It’s fine, Sadone, I’m sure it’s not your fault. The heating is probably broken because we’ve been using it so much.”

“I guess that does make sense, but…how else are we gonna stay warm?” Sadone asked as she walked back to the couch, setting her bowl on the coffee table.

As Kaede sat down next to her, she put her finger to her chin in thought. “Hm…I don’t really know, do you have any ideas?”

A light blush rested on Sadone’s cheeks as she looked up at Kaede. “Um…we could cuddle…but only if Kaede wants to of course…”

Kaede blushed brightly and avoided eye contact with Sadone. “I suppose…that could work…”

Sadone just smiled as she wrapped Kaede into a hug. Kaede pulled Sadone closer to her, pressing a light kiss to her forehead. Sadone just snuggled closer to her, and they stayed just like that until they were both asleep.
