Handful of drawings I did of Ivy the scarlet archer and Spruce the green eyed demon from dragon children. But in different styles of my different projects.(haha some of them at least)
I just could not get a good picture of the drawing but this works.

Platonic Yandere-ish Ronal/Tonowari/Tsireya/Aonung X Human Child Reader
~A/N: I started writing this right after I posted my first avatar work. Reader is pretty gender neutral in this, but it IS implied that they are female. Your only real descriptors are you being tiny and having long hair.
~Masterlist
Part 1 , Part 2 , Part 3
CW: yandere behavior (platonic), possesive behavior, obsessive behavior, near death experience, the human scientists are assholes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
~
-You came to Pandora with your Aunt when you were five. (Same as the other Platonic Yandere Avatar thing I did) You lived on the lab base with her and some other scientists that barely tolerated you.
-You were constantly bored out of your mind because you were locked out of the lab every day, where every other sentient being was. So, when there was a meal break you asked your Aunt if you could explore during the day. She said yes, but you had to wear an oxygen mask because the air here could hurt you otherwise.
-You weren’t happy about the mask and asked her if there was any way around wearing it. She told you there was but it was painful. Which, rightfully, made you scared but you said you’d do it anyway. So, your first interaction with all of the scientists wasn’t very pleasant, but it let you go outside!
-You fell in love with the planet during your trips outside the lab facility. But, you would have to move to a new one soon since they wanted to study the stuff on a different part of the planet. So, you packed your stuff in a watertight bag and went in the helicopter with, surprisingly, not your Aunt.
-During the trip over, you were constantly looking out the side of the helicopter to look at what you were passing, even if it was mostly ocean.
You were in awe at how beautiful Pandora was all over. As you were looking out the windows, you missed what was happening around you. The rest of the scientists did not like you or your presence in the labs. They knew your Aunt got annoyed with you too. So, they came up with a plan to get rid of you, but not necessarily kill you. They knew it was time when they saw the reefs approaching.
While you were looking out the window you noticed that one of the scientists was moving towards where you were. They grabbed your duffle bag before opening the door of the helicopter. You were panicking, not knowing what was going on. They then grabbed you, handed you your bag, and threw you out of the helicopter.
You gripped your bag as hard as you could while screaming on the way down. You passed out as soon as you hit the water.
-Tsireya had been watching the sky people contraption as soon as she noticed it in the sky. She was confused when the side of it opened up, but then saw a tiny human with a big bag get thrown out of it. She rushed over to where you would land, while listening to your screams as you fell.
-She immediately dove to get you when you hit the surface of the water. You had lost consciousness under the surface, so she dragged you to the surface, with your bag, and began swimming back to shore with you in tow.
-Once she made it to the shore, she carried you to where her mother was, in the healer’s tent. You were such a tiny thing, and she was so worried for you.
-She got her mother’s attention as soon as she entered the tent. Ronal was floored that her daughter had a human with her, but focused on your physical state right after.
Tsireya explained to her mother all she knew as she laid you down on a mat, then set your bag next to you. Ronal was shocked at the story. She knew humans were cruel, but this was a new low to her. Throwing out a child. She immediately got to work on waking you up, doing some chants. (A/N: Basing this off the scene when Kiri had a seizure)
After she was done, your eyes immediately shot open and you bolted upright. You then promptly leaned to the side and coughed up some water. As soon as you were done with your coughing fit, you looked over to the two navi women looking at you intently. You gave them a strained smile and a wave before laying back down.
They went right to either side of your head and began talking to you. They asked you what your name was, how old you were, and what happened. You introduced yourself then told them the full story of how you ended up in the water. Needless to say they were both furious about it. What kind of monsters would endanger a child like this?!
You then asked who they were, quite politely too. Ronal took the initiative to talk, saying, “My name is Ronal, and this is my daughter Tsireya.” You just smiled and told them they had pretty names. This made them both chuckle and thank you for your sweet words. They asked if you felt alright enough to move, and you said yes.
-They then both got up and waited for you to do the same. They both smiled at how tiny you were compared to them, you only came up to the middle of Tsireya’s thigh and the bottom of Ronal’s. Tsireya picked up your bag and motioned you to follow them.
-You tried to keep up with their slow and small steps, but weren’t really able to. So, Ronal asked if she could carry you. You smiled and reached up to her. She leant down and picked you up, tiny enough to be cradled to her chest like a baby.
-You were having the time of your life being carried so high up. You took in your surroundings with a big smile as they walked through their tribe to their home. Once they got there, Tsireya set down your bag, and Ronal set you on the ground. To which you immediately went around looking at everything that you could see.
-It wasn’t very long before Tonowari and Aonung each heard the whispers of a tiny human with Ronal and Tsireya. So, they both hurried back to their home to get to the bottom of it.
-Sure enough, there was a tiny human in their home, looking around at everything with a smile. The two women noticed them immediately and motioned them closer.
Tsireya got your attention by saying, “Hey Y/N, can you come over here and meet some more people?” You looked over as soon as you heard her, then nodded before running over to her. Which was more of a fast waddle to them.
Once you were in front of her she asked you to introduce yourself to the two men. So, you said, “Hello! My name’s Y/N and I’m five!” You held up five fingers while saying it quite loudly. This made the bigger man chuckle and the smaller one just smiled at you.
Then the bigger man said, “My name is Tonowari, and this one is my son Aonung. Ronal is my mate and Tsireya is my daughter.” You told him name was cool. He chuckled again before asking how you got here. So, you went over the whole story again. Which made him angry at the humans and reignited the flames of anger in the two women.
“Well, that’s too bad for them. Would you like to stay with us since you’re here now?” Tonowari asked you in a very kind tone. You nodded very animatedly, excited to stay with the first nice people you met on that planet.
-And right after that sweet moment, your stomach rumbled very loudly. Everyone in that room heard it. Which made you look down and blush, but all the navi laugh.
-They went to start making lunch for you. Ronal had decided to make a meal for all of them since it was close enough to lunchtime for it. She just didn’t want to make you stay hungry until dinner.
-While she started making the food, Tonowari had picked you up. You gripped him while seeing the place from a new angle. It amazed you again, how pretty everything was. Plus, Tonowari was very tall!
-You giggled as he walked around their home with you by his shoulder. He pointed things out to you as he went along, and you listened intently. Right as he was done showing you around, Ronal finished with the food.
-She called everyone over to eat. They all sat around where she set the food, with you in Tonowari’s lap. She made plates for her whole family before having you make a plate for yourself, as she didn’t know how much to give you. You were a tiny human, but the amount of food you took didn’t seem like enough to her, and as she looked at her family they seemed to agree. They decided to leave it be for now.
-Everyone started eating after you were done making your plate. You finished your food before everyone else and set down your plate in front of you. Tonowari asked you if you wanted anymore as you started leaning back against him. You just shook your head before yawning.
-Everyone’s heart just melted looking at you falling asleep on Tonowari. Tonowari himself felt happy that you felt safe enough with them to fall asleep on him, and the others were jealous that it wasn’t them.
The family left you be as they finished their lunch. Once they all finished their own food, Tonowari stood up with you in his arms as he made his way to where his family sleeps and laid down with you. As he settled down you snuggled into him further. Soon enough, the whole family gathered around him and you, to keep watch over you as you slept.
They stayed that way for about an hour before you started to wake up. You blinked your eyes open before reaching a hand up to rub the sleep from them. You sat up and stretched before looking around yourself. You noticed that Tonowari was what you were laying on, and the other three were sitting around him.
All of them thought it was adorable, what you did after you woke up. They all had smiles on their faces as you finally looked around yourself. With how unaware you were when tired, it was a good thing you ended up there with them to watch over you.
You groggily said, “Good morning.” Then you stood up to stretch more before making your way over to your bag and digging around in it for something. Tsireya and Ronal got up to go with you to your bag and see what you had in it. It looked like mostly clothes, what looked like a blanket, a brush, a smaller brush, some circle things, and a piece of human technology. You grabbed the brush and circle things before turning to look at them.
You looked at the two women and asked if they could brush and do your hair. It was a mess after being dragged through the water. They each smiled and agreed before taking you somewhere else in their home. Ronal sat behind you and started to gently brush through your hair, and Tsireya sat in front of you to ask you what you wanted them to do with your hair.
You sat happily and described french braids to them. With the small explanation that the braids in their hair could mess up yours if they put them in it. They absorbed the information happily. Both took a mental note that tight, but not tiny, braids were fine in your hair. Once Ronal was done brushing your hair, you asked her to part it down the middle to do two braids. She parted it and both women started on a side of your head and quickly finished the simple braids.
You ran over to their version of a mirror and craned your head to look at it. Aonung came over and picked you up so you could look at yourself in it. You beamed and thanked them for doing your hair. They smiled and told you it was no problem. You walked to the ‘door’ of their home and looked out at the water. You saw some navi people swimming in the water by the rock things and wanted to go swimming as well.
You turned to the navi around you and asked them if you could go swim. They told you they had no problem with it, only that Tsireya and Aonung had to go with you just in case something happened. You happily agreed and went to your bag to get out a swimsuit. They looked at you curiously for it. You explained the general purpose of a swimsuit and why it was important for humans to wear them when swimming. They were still confused but nodded anyway, surprised at how sensitive human skin was.
You asked for help changing, and within a minute you were ready. This time Aonung was the one carrying you out to the water. He set you down just as he reached the shore. Him and his sister watched as you immediately went into the shallow water and waded around. It went up to your waist, but would only go up to each of their calves. You went to look around in the water, occasionally picking up a shell and tossing it to the dry part of the sand, clearly wanting to keep them.
You waved both of them to go in the water with you as you went to the deeper parts of it. They quickly went to your side to swim with you. You almost ignored them as you paddled your way into the deeper water. You started to float on your front so you could look down into the water. Everything on Pandora was just so pretty to you, you were always in awe at anything new. After only a minute you brought your head up to the surface to get some air.
You swam a little farther out before taking a deep breath and diving down a bit. You swam in little circles under the surface, looking at everything around you with wonder. The siblings were just looking at you with amusement. Happy that you like being here and being in the water. Though you can’t stay under for very long at this point.
-Once you came back up, they went right beside you to ask if you wanted to learn how to hold your breath for a longer period of time. You enthusiastically agreed.
-So, for a week you get some light lessons on breathing properly to be underwater for longer. Light, because Ronal and Tonowari didn’t want you to strain yourself too much. Plus, they each had you with them when doing their safer duties so they could spend time with you. Those lessons and meal times were their kids’ chance to bond with you more.
-As you got used to living with the family, they began to consider you family. Their baby. And they were very protective of you. They kept you close to them at all moments of the day, no matter what they were doing and who they were with.
-They began subtly pushing you to call them your family. They begin to use phrases like ‘your siblings’, ‘your mother’, ‘your father’, and so on. And you accept them, but continue to call all of them by their names. You’ve given them all nicknames, which they think are cute, but they want you to acknowledge them as your family.
-They think since you haven’t done it on your own, that they’ll have to prompt you to start calling them by familial terms. They brought it up to you one night at dinner.
-Tonowari looked over at you, who was sitting in his other daughter’s lap, and brought forth the question.
“Y/N, you have been with us for a while now. We all see you as a part of our family now. But you still call us by our names. Can you try to refer to us as family from now on? Like Mother, father, sister, and brother?” He said this softly and tentatively. Maybe a little afraid of your response. You just looked up to him with a thinking face. You finally spoke to tell them that you thought of them as family too and would start adjusting to using different terms.
All of the family were so happy. Tsireya had hugged you further to her after hearing you say that. And the rest had beaming smiles aimed at you. You smiled back at them before going back to your meal. The rest of the night went as it usually did.
-In the morning is when things changed a little bit. As everyone woke up, you said your good mornings as per usual. When you wanted to be picked up you reached up to Tonowari and said, “Up please Papa.” His heart melted when you said that and he instantly scooped you up and cradled you closer to him.
-You leaned your head onto his shoulder as he held you while the rest of the family helped make breakfast. You ate breakfast in your new father’s lap, then thanked Ronal by saying, “Thank you for breakfast Mama.” She said, “It’s no problem at all, my baby.” The whole family was smiling at the interaction.
-You couldn’t figure out a way to use brother or sister in a sentence said to your new siblings, and you told them this. They were a bit disappointed at it, but figured it was a human thing with how you learned to speak.
-They both hugged you and told you they don’t mind, as long as you knew they were your siblings now. You smiled and nodded before beginning to drag them to the water with you so you could wade around for shells and swim around a bit before lunch.
-You spent about 2 hours collecting shells you thought were pretty while Tsireya helped you and Aonung swam with his friends for a bit. His friends liked you, but you were very shy around them and preferred being around your family.
-After you got bored with the shells, you put the ones you liked the most in the small basket your sister always brought for you. Then, you went back to Tsireya and dragged her with you into the deeper water. Well, she let you take her with you, and just let you think you were moving her on your own.
-She continues to help you with your breathing so you could stay under for longer. You have gotten up to four minutes underwater. Your sister was proud of you for making so much progress, but knew you could improve a little bit more. You would never need to do anything under the water, as a human and the precious baby of their family, but she knew being underwater and looking around at everything made you happy. And she really wanted you to be, and stay, happy.
You had taken some extra instruction from your sister before following the special breathing and diving below the surface. You went about halfway down and towards the reefs. You gently touched the stationary life on the reef and smiled as it touched you back. Tsireya was right with you, smiling as you continued to admire the nature you now saw everyday.
She kept an eye on you as you did your daily exploration. You went over multiple organisms on the reef before making your way back to the surface. You took another breath before going back under and swaying your arms to the movements of the tiny school of fish by you. You continued to do this before going back to the surface again.
This time Tsireya came up with you. She knew you got tired quickly and would take a short nap before lunch. You went a bit away from her and started floating on your back before going still and lightly dozing off. She knew you floated well, but stayed close to you anyway.
You stayed in your light sleep until you two got called to lunch. Your parents had brought the food they made outside so you could eat outside of the marui. You almost pranced up onto the shore after fully waking up and swimming as far as you could until you could stand on the bottom. Tsireya wasn’t far behind you, and Aonung started to swim over after spotting you from a distance with his friends.
Aonung swam as quick as he could and made it to you two right as you were exiting the water. You waddled over to your parents as they sat down on the sand. You stopped a little ways away from them and wrung your hair out as best as you could before walking over to your mother and plopping down in her lap.
-Everyone quickly gathered around the food and made their plates, with Tonowari making yours. He still thought it was too little food, but you never finished it if they added a little bit more, plus you seemed healthy and happy enough.
-They started eating at the same time as you did. You happily ate and then set your bowl aside as you finished, then leaned further back into Ronal while everyone else finished their lunch. Tonowari took the remnants of lunch back to the marui and Ronal picked you up as she stood.
-She took you with her as she went further into the village. She had some duties as Tsahik, and she was going to have you accompany her until dinner.
-She had brought your basket of shells to where she would be so you could continue your little projects with them as she did her duties. She sat you down on a cushion with your basket and plenty of string for your projects. She sat down right beside you as she started with what she needed to do.
-After an hour she looked over to see what you were doing. She saw you had weaved some of the shells into something, but couldn’t figure out what it was at first. As you held it up to your head to check if it was large enough, she realized you were making a headpiece to mimic hers with the tiny shells you had collected.
-It only took you another fifteen minutes to finish it before you had put it on. It was a combination of pink and white shells framing your face, a pink one in the center of your forehead, and it looped around your two ‘french braids’ to keep it secure to your head.
-You turned to her and waited for her to notice. She had been watching you as you put it on, but hummed and turned to you like she had just seen you turn to her. She looked over the headpiece with you directly looking at her, and told you that it was very pretty on you.
You smiled and hopped up to your feet, which made the shells clink together when you moved. You went over to Ronal and hugged one of her arms and said, “Thank you Mama! I’m gonna go show Papa and my siblings!” You giggled when she kissed you head before motioning to the doorway of the hut you were in.
You giggled as you ran out of the hut to find the other members of your family. You ran to where you thought your siblings would be, swimming with their friends. You stopped with your feet in the water and called out to them, “Reya! Nung! Come see what I made!”
You easily got their attention and they looked over and noticed something on your head, but couldn’t see it well. They swam over to you and finally saw what it was. A shell headpiece. They told you it was pretty on you, and asked who made it. You proudly said that you made it yourself. They both kissed one of your cheeks and told you they were impressed with your work.
You asked them where your dad was so you could show him too. They told you he would be coming back from fishing in a few minutes. You went to the dock and watched as the group of hunters appeared in the distance with full pouches of fish. You stood on the dock and waited for the group to get closer before calling out to your dad.
You shouted, “Papa!” which got Tonowari’s attention and he came over to where you were standing on his skimwing. He stopped just beside you and hopped onto the dock to pick you up, knowing the other men would deal with his fish he caught.
Right as he settled you in his arms, facing him, he noticed the new thing about you. He complimented the headpiece, saying it made you look very pretty. You giggled and responded, “Thank you Papa! I made it myself!” You were very proud of what you made, and so was he. He kissed all over your cheeks and forehead while telling you how proud he was of your skills, and how cute you were. You were loving the attention and the tinkling noise the shells made.
-You kept the headpiece on everyday after that. Mixing your hair up from two braids to two ponytails, to two space buns every few days.
-But, about two weeks after you finished it, you started to not feel very good. You thought you had a cold, and told your parents this. They were very concerned and asked what that was. You told them it was a minor sickness and they both immediately looked you over and asked if you would be okay.
-You told them you just needed some rest, and maybe more water throughout the day. They decided to keep you with them during the days because you complained about feeling cold too, even though you felt warm to them.
-The first day of your cold, you were strapped to Ronal’s back and stayed with her the whole day. Really only waking up to eat and drink. The second day of it, you were strapped to Tonowari’s back. And he would occasionally reach over his shoulder and pat your head. Still with the headpiece on, even though you weren’t awake to appreciate it, you insisted you wear it.
-In the middle of your day with your dad, some other people had arrived through the air. You woke up from being jostled a little as your dad rushed to the docks where they had landed. You still had your head resting on his shoulder, so you looked over at the other navi.
You noticed they looked a lot different then all the navi you had gotten used to in your time here. You hummed while looking at them, which made your father look at you and rub your head before turning to them and talking to them.
At some point your mother showed up and rubbed your back before going to the new group of navi and inspecting them.
While they were doing this, the Sully family was looking at you and wondering why a tiny human was with the Metkayina, and apparently was accepted by the chief and his wife. They all thought you were super cute snoozing on Tonowari’s shoulder with your tiny shell headpiece.
Not long after your mother showed up, your siblings did too. They looked over at you to check on you before inspecting the new arrivals. Aonung wasn’t impressed by them, but Tsireya was very curious. Your dad decided your siblings would teach the new kids your ways. You quietly said to him, “Papa, can I go with them?”
You were too cute to say no to, so he just unstrapped you from himself and handed you over to your sister. She just said she would take care of you and strapped you to her front, facing her, and walked off to show the new people around.
You looked over her shoulder and waved at the new people before laying your head down and going back to sleep.
~A/N: There will probably be a pt 2 to this at some point soon

Rant about Eywa theories
Eywa is one of the most interesting concepts in the Avatar universe, imo. The concept of an interplanetary consciousness that every native organism can "interface" with is so cool. One thing that really fascinates me about Eywa is how she goes about "protecting only the balance of life" as Neytiri explained to Jake. As of Avatar 1, Eywa did not react to the human threat mining and destroying the forest for several years, nor the genocide/abduction of the Sarentu clan, even though Eywa would've been aware of what was happening when the Na'vi shared their memories with her soul trees. She only reacted to the threat AFTER she was exposed to human memories of the destruction of earth when Jake interfaced with her via his avatar body, and then again when she interfaced with Grace’s human body. The reaction was similar to an immune response within a body attacking a foreign virus, with native fauna mobilizing to attack anything that registered as alien. One interesting thing of note about the immune response is that the animals were not physically connected to Eywa when they attacked, which means Eywa can somehow send commands to organisms “wirelessly.” This phenomena could also explain how the atokirina conveniently show up to stop Neytiri from killing Jake. Anyway, the immune response won the final battle of A1, in A2 we saw the immune response can't protect Pandora in its entirety. The recoms could get past the immune response undetected, and Bridgehead and the whaling ships didn't face an immune response at all.
Another interesting thing about Eywa we learned from the original script for Avatar 2, is that she is confirmed to have caused Grace’s pregnancy. Norm describes Kiri’s birth as “parthenogenesis,” which is a biological process in which an egg produces viable offspring without sperm from a male. (idk if the script needs a spoiler warning, so I'm putting one just to be safe) Based on the fact that Jake describes the pregnancy as “a mystery,” we can assume parthenogenetic birth isn’t something normal to the Na’vi’s alien reproductive cycle. On earth, parthenogenesis is only found in invertebrates and some plants. Assuming that Na’vi reproduction is somewhat similar to earth animal reproduction (which I think we can safely do since the Sully children clearly have inherited different traits from their parents, implying that they get half of their DNA from each parent just like on earth, but they are aliens so I could be completely wrong here), Grace would’ve had gametes inside of her avatar’s reproductive system, which are cells that only contain half of the genetic material to produce a viable offspring. A complex, multicellular organism like a Na’vi couldn’t exist without a full set of genes, so in order to produce a zygote (a new cell with a full set of genes that can grow into an embryo), the other half of the genetic material must’ve come from somewhere else, and the only place it could’ve come from is Eywa herself. This means that Eywa, to some capacity, can create or at least copy and reproduce genetic material. Since Kiri is so similar to Grace, it’s possible the other half of her genes are just a complete copy of Grace.
From all this we can conclude some things about Eywa.
We know she is not:
All powerful
All knowing
A “god” in the traditional sense
We know she is capable of:
Storing memories, including memories of the deceased from the last time they connected with her
Making decisions to react to threats based on those memories
Interfacing with an alien’s nervous system
Commanding fauna
Sending signals to organisms without physical contact
Creating/changing genetic material
What is still unclear is how Eywa’s consciousness works. Is she:
A sentient individual?
A hive mind of the deceased Na’vi?
An amalgamation of consciousness built from memories?
Something akin to a biological artificial intelligence?
Now that we’ve established the things that are confirmed about Eywa, I want to get into some speculation about what else she might be capable of. Note that from this point on I’m being purely SPECULATIVE and I’m not saying any of this is for sure possible in canon, I’m just coming up with hypotheses based on info we already have. After the end of Avatar 2, it looks like Jake and the Na’vi are planning to make their stand against the RDA, but if they want any hope of winning against the RDA’s superior technology, they’re going to need a combination of a Na’vi war force and divine intervention, just like in Avatar 1. The question is, how will Eywa help them? The one form of defense we’ve seen from her is the immune response, but that can only go so far. It can be fooled by avatars and recoms, and it is not strong enough to attack a heavily fortified base like Bridgehead. Eywa is going to have to step up her game, and I’ve created three theories on how she might do that.
📢potential spoiler warning for the last theory!📢
Theory 1: The 880 Virus
Project 880 is a screenplay James Cameron wrote in 1995 that eventually morphed into the Avatar we know and love today. One element in 880 that never made it to Avatar was the counter-viruses. For every earth virus the RDA brought with them to Pandora, Eywa created a counter-virus that would stop it, protecting both native organisms and the humans from getting sick from the viruses ever again. The RDA was even planning to create vaccines using the counter-viruses and sell them back on earth. At the end of Project 880 when the RDA is forced to retreat, Jake tells them that if they ever come back, Eywa will unleash a deadly virus that will wipe out any human that dares set foot on Pandora again. Even though Project 880 is not canon, I could see James Cameron revisiting his old idea to help the protagonists shake off the RDA forever. The problem is they’d need to find a way to protect the friendly humans like Spider and Norm.
Theory 2: Avatar Kiri
Between the parthenogenetic birth and Kiri’s ability to control vines (seen in The High Ground comic) and anemones (seen in Avatar 2), the movies are clearly setting up for there to be something special about her. In both the comic scene where she controlled plants and the movie scene where she controlled the anemones, the characters around her expressed confusion that she could do so, from which we can assume those are not normal abilities of a Na’vi. Since Kiri is also established to have a deep connection to Eywa, it is possible she is meant to act as an “avatar.” In the original context of the word, an avatar is a manifestation of a deity in mortal form, so Kiri would act as an avatar for Eywa. Since Kiri is a person and not a… whatever Eywa is, she can make her own decisions and react quickly to problems without having to absorb memories first. There’s no more information to speculate about what other abilities Kiri may develop in the future, so unfortunately, there’s not much else to discuss here that we can base on any evidence.
Theory 3: If you can’t beat em, join em
📢Here’s where we’re getting into potential spoiler territory.📢 In the BTS footage for Avatar 2, there were some scripts accidentally shown which described some very interesting scenes: Spider, breathing without a mask, and Kiri confessing to Mo’at that she caused it to happen. There was also some concept art shown in Las Vegas that depicted Spider with a neural queue plugged into the underwater spirit tree with Kiri. Full disclaimer, it’s entirely possible these are scrapped ideas and will not be seen in the Avatar franchise, but for the sake of this hypothesis, let’s assume they’re legit. I’ve seen a lot of people asking the question of HOW would this happen, but I haven’t seen anybody asking an equally important question: WHY? I’m very interested in the HOW and maybe I’ll make a discussion post on it later, but for my hypothesis let’s just talk about the WHY. Even though Kiri claimed responsibility for it, I don’t think this is something she could do without the help of Eywa, since Na’vi aren’t established to have the ability to radically alter other organisms. So why would Eywa want to give a human kid the ability to breathe the Pandoran air? Sure, he’s Kiri’s friend, but Eywa has never intervened to save an individual’s life just because people cared about them before (otherwise we’d still have Neteyam RIP). As Neytiri said, “The Great Mother protects the balance of life.” Eywa did not intervene to stop the destructive mining or protect the Sarentu, she only intervened AFTER Grace’s memories showed her that the RDA could potentially cause planet-wide destruction like on earth. So if she gave Spider this life-saving ability, there must be a bigger reason for it other than just Kiri wanting him to survive. My hypothesis is that Eywa has realized what a massive threat the humans pose to Pandora, and that her immune system response is insufficient to protect her biosphere. Her solution is to behave like a virus and weaponize the humans against themselves. When a virus infects a healthy organism, it “hacks” into healthy cells and reprograms them to attack uninfected cells and produce more viruses. Eywa will “hack” Spider’s biology the same way she “hacked” into Grace’s nervous system to interface with her, and will “reprogram” him to breathe the air and have a neural queue. Spider is already loyal to the Na’vi, so she doesn’t need to do anything further to him, but what if she repeated the process with other humans? Any human who gained a neural queue would be able to experience tsaheylu and the connection between all living things. Humans who are already loyal to Eywa would be able to fight back better with their new abilities, and it would give Eywa more access to more memories to gain a better understanding of the enemy. Humans who are loyal to the RDA would be more inclined to switch sides after experiencing Eywa’s consciousness, much like Jake did. I’m aware this final theory is a bit more out there than the others, but it spawned from me trying to answer the question of WHY would Spider get the ability to breathe the air and I felt like there had to be a bigger reason than just Kiri wanting to save him. Unlike Kiri, there’s not some special significance about Spider (other than his connection to Quaritch, but I don’t think Eywa would care about that) that would make him vital to the fight against the RDA, so I thought, what if he’s not special, he just happened to be the first piece of a much larger plan? And the result is this theory.
What do you think of my theories and do you guys have any of your own to share?
TLDR: Eywa is really cool, and in the future I think she could possibly defeat the RDA by unleashing a deadly virus, giving Kiri special powers, or "converting" Spider and other humans.

Quaritch forming tsaheylu with his partner
Tumblr media
Pairing: Miles Quaritch x GN!Na’vi!Reader Warnings: Some slightly suggestive content
Tumblr media
You had never seen Miles this nervous. Even with a knife pressed against his throat and your angry form hissing in his face, he had merely smirked, but now the man was shaken. His face was tense as you led him through the forest, his ears twitching at every noise.
Did he not want to do this? You asked him again and again but he always assured you that he did. He wanted you to be bound together, marriage not really an option on Pandora.
“Is it going to be watching?” He asked at one point when you had reached your desired clearing. When you asked him what he meant he glanced over to a woodsprite that peacefully floated by. “You know.”
Eywa was what made him nervous. Humans or Na’vi watching him? No problem, he’d pull his pants down anywhere, but some god/sentient ecosystem seeing him, feeling him at his most intimate moments? It disturbed him.
“Eywa is always watching,” you had answered with a smile. To you Eywa was in every breath you took, in every drop of water you drank and branch you brushed aside. But the Skypeople did not feel that connection as deeply even when in Avatar bodies.
The two of you just sat in the clearing for a while, facing each other and breathing in calmly. You had urged Miles to close his eyes and join his hands with yours. He had given you that same look that he always does when it comes to Na’vi ways, but complied regardless.
“Feel her presence, feel her peace and let it join you,” You told him. It took him a while before he truly got it, a chill running down his spine when he felt only a snippet of that connection. It seemed as if the sounds around them became more clear, every falling leaf and drop of water suddenly audible. But it wasn’t alarming, quite the opposite in fact. He became calm, and when you felt it in his grip on your hands, you let go to caress his face.
When his golden eyes met yours, you smiled with intense admiration. He had put his own reservations aside to please you. “Oel ngati kameie.” I see you.
He repeated it in that adorable broken Na’vi of his and caressed from your face to your hair, playing with one of your beaded braids. It jingled softly and the sound reminded him of every morning he had spend watching you while you turned and tossed in your sleep. Sometimes you would turn so fast and suddenly that your braids swayed and clanked together, but you seemed to be deaf to the sound. You had been all teeth and anger when you had first met him, appearing as a demon as much to him as he did to you. But you had seen the softer sides of one another, and now Miles could not imagine having to go without the sight of your fanged smile for longer than a day.
Slowly, you brought forward the braid with your queque and offered it to him. The little pink tendrils of the queque parted the end of your braid and wiggled expectantly. It was still an odd sight to him, but strangely not unappealing as it was a part of you.
He brought his queque close to yours and locked eyes with you, your expression questioning. Without words, you asked him one last time if he was sure. Sick of the doubt, Miles interlocked your queques quickly.
Both your breaths hitched as your queques became tangled in one another. With every strand that became linked, a jolt was felt through your bodies and a new sense of your partner could be felt. When the wind blew by your back, Miles could feel the soft tickle of hair running down his spine. Not his, but yours.
He placed his hand on your chest in a testing manner and felt the pressure of it on his own. Tsaheylu had been made, a bond that could only be broken by death.
Your pupils were dilated as you stared at him, heart bouncing rapidly in your chest. He could feel your urgency, your need, his own only amplifying it.
He pulled you onto his lap and kissed you, every passionate brush of his lips against yours sending heat through both your bodies. He had never wanted you more than in this moment. To feel you, to be one with you.
When you are both sated, he lets you fall asleep in his arms, his own eyes quickly falling shut from exhaustion.
By the morning your queques have become untangled, the extreme high of the earlier sensations having lessened with it. Miles woke up before you, your back still facing him as you peacefully slept. He picked up your braid and watched as your queque writhed and wiggled out towards him. A grin appeared on his face. Could this be used more often?

By the way, head cannon that Fright Knight speaks about himself in his head in third person when he feels more like a knight than a human/sentient so yeah.
-
Fright Knight accidentally adopts his King, emotionally at least. It wasn’t his fault! His king was bruised so he asked and he was getting bullied, and his parents didn’t do anything and they were ghost hunters who want to kill and study him! Fright Knight had never thought he would be co-parenting with ghost hunters, lucky he had a human form. With a bit of help from Clockwork and Pandora Fright Knight was know King Phantoms legal god father, he was claiming custody if King Phantoms parents found out he was Phantom and reacted negatively; honestly he probably should right now given how many expamples of neglect he already had, but King Phantom was happy. Now let Fright Knight explain how he got here:
Fright Knight is used to Pariah Dark who is no doubt abusive in one way or another. Fright Knight is used to not moving a hair when his king orders him to stop. Fright Knight is used to a horrible king with a cold heart that knows no bounds to its selfishness.
When King Phantom comes Fright Knight assumes it will be the same.
King Phantom is not the same. It takes a few months but Fright Knight realised that King Phantom veiws him as an equal. As a person not a servant. This only makes Fright Knight more loyal to him, he thinks he would stay with King Phantom even if he got dethroned. His king had a heart of gold that put others before itself, while this had gotten King Phantom into a lot of trouble Fright Knight dared say that… he liked the change.
He was so used to installing fear into the people he meets, or being the one scared in Pariah Darks case, that he was confused when King Phantom seemed to do neither. King Phantom even asked if he had eaten and then brought him something called a Nasty Burger when he said he had not (Fright Knight did not know why they were called ‘Nasty’ they tasted adequate).
King Phantom was so young, being King was not a burden he should be forced to carry! Fright Knight was shocked to realise how many burdens a literal infant (in ghost terms anyways) had been forced to carry. And King Phantom was a kind and fair ruler, perhaps too mercyful for his own good Fright Knight mused.
Fright Knight is forever loyal to his kind King and has grown to care for him outside of a knight wanting to protect the king. So when King Phantom walked into a small lair he had made in his castle, with bruises on the side of his face and arm, Fright Knight decided to find who did this and give them a little tap with his sword, anyone who would hurt King Phantom deserved the fear Fright Knight would install in them. “Who did this?” Fright Knight asked, King Phantom glanced up then to the bruises on his arm
“Oh this? Dash bullies me pretty much every day, he got a bad test score.” King Phantom mentioned. King Phantom had told Fright Knight to understand a situation before jumping to conclusions to stop potentially dangerous misunderstandings
“Why would you change his test score?” Fright Knight asked
“I didn’t. He just likes to take things out on me and got partically mad today, hit me with a tray then shoved me in a locker and got my late to class. It wasn’t my locker which was just plain annoying.” King Phantom said, Fright Knight picked up his sword
“Where does Dash live?” he asked.
“Fright Knight! I’ve told you not to kill -or trap on their worst fears- people, even if they’ve mean to me.” King Phantom said.
“Understood. I will not go after Dash.” Fright Knight said, King Phantom nodded happily and that made not hurting Dash worth it (for now). However there were other parts of King Phantoms sentance that set off alarms “Your parents don’t do anything?” Fright Knight asked, he shifted to his human form (the king had made and gifted him a small amulet that allowed this, for when Fright Knight needed to see or be with King Phantom but could not be seen as Fright Knight. He had dark skin, dreadlocked hair, tatoos down his arms and usually wore sweatpants with armour hidden underneath them and depending on the situation either a hoodie also with hidden armour or just a black singlet.) and sat down on the bed next to the king
“They don’t notice.” King Phantom said gloomily. Fright Knights eyes wet wide and glowed blue
“What?!” he asked
“Their busy hunting ghosts.” King Phantom explained
“Hunting ghosts- to help you?” I asked
“No. They’ve been ghost hunters for years before they had me. They want to capture me actually and ‘tear the ghost boy apart molecule by molecule’.” King Phantom said
“Any other family you stay with?” I asked hopefully
“Well you know how Jazz my sister is nice, but she can’t move out yet. And Vlad is my uncle-” King Phantom started
“My appologies for interupting but Plasmius is your uncle?!” I asked
“Yeah I know! He keeps scolding me about my grades while we’re fighting! He knows full well that inbetween Danny Fenton and Danny Phantom and King Phantom I barely have time to study!” King Phantom said, I was already planning out people to take over some less important kingly duties
“I am talking to your parents.” I announced as I stood up
“What?! No! The cousin excuse only works so many times and at least even if he looked like a ghost Dan is the same ethnicity-”
“I’m sorry, your parents care so little they don’t even realise that the people you brang home are not your cousins?” I asked in horror, King Phantom paused
“Well, yeah. When you put it that way it sounds bad.” he said. I walked out the door and through a portal, walking straight into the Fenton house and pretending to be a friendly out-of-towner with an intrest in ghost hunting looking for teachers and a place to stay. My name was going to be Frie Getgi Ver, pronounced Fry Get-gi ver so fright giver, if they didn’t notice that they were truely horrible parents.

Your footsteps echo off of the ancient stone floor as you venture inside Pandora, taking in the interior with wide eyes. It stretches out before you like a labyrinth, with towering shelves that are seemingly endless as they disappear into the distance. Your fingers gently graze the worn spines of hundreds of books as you pass by, taking in a few of the titles: “The Legend of the Underwater City,” “The Chronicle of Lost Stars,” and more in languages you don’t even recognize.
Floating balls of yellow light flit around the tops of the shelves, the only things standing between you and complete darkness. One comes to circle around you, as if it is sentient, inspecting you. It reminds you of the fireflies from your hometown, and the memory makes you smile. You reach out a hand, brushing your fingers against it. It sparks orange and sends a jolt of electricity down your arm, making your hair stand on end. You murmur a soft apology, taking the warning for what it is—don’t bother them, and they won’t bother you.
“Y/N, stop!”
So distracted by the small creature, Wooyoung’s shout saves you from bumping directly into a wall of darkness. He grabs your wrist and pulls you back against his chest, walking you backward a few steps.
You get a better look at the darkness from farther away. It appears to be humanoid in shape, hand-like appendages melting into the book it is holding, like candle wax onto a desk or ink spilled on paper. It doesn’t seem to notice either of you, too invested in what it is reading, but it whispers things you cannot comprehend.
“What the hell is that?” you ask, voice shaking.
“No idea,” Wooyoung says. “But let’s avoid them, yeah?”
You nod, your heart still in your throat as you carefully step around the figure. There's something melancholic about the way it sounds, like a song you heard once but can never remember no matter how hard you try.
Wooyoung’s grip slides down from your wrist to your hand, interlacing his fingers with yours as he takes the lead and walks deeper into the library. “Stay close.”
You continue to step lightly, not failing to notice how all of the books are organized impeccably, how no dust at all settles on the covers. You wonder if time has stopped here somehow, or if something is responsible for the library’s upkeep. You hear the others trickle in behind you, their soft murmurs and gasps of awe merging with the whispers of the dark creatures. Wooyoung shouts a warning so that none of the boys unwittingly stumble into one like you almost did.
Finally, you reach what must be the center of Pandora, and the sight takes your breath away. A grand hall lies before you, punctuated by a painted, domed ceiling. Stairs spiral upwards on either side, disappearing into even more book-lined corridors. Marble tables fill the space, each one littered with scrolls, quills, and ink pots.
Toward the back, there is a large statue of an owl, carved with so much detail that it almost looks alive. Its wings are spread out as if it might take flight, and its eyes are made of gemstones that resemble the night sky. Hongjoong stands right in front of it, gazing up at it inquisitively.
Yeosang is the last one to trickle in and, just as he does, the entrance doors slam shut and the eyes on the owl statue begin to glow. Hongjoong takes a few steps back, calling to his fire in preparation. Everyone else follows suit, readying their respective elements and taking defensive stances. You hover a hand over your weapons belt.
The owl surges to life, stone becoming delicate feathers. It flaps its wings once, twice, and the gusts are so strong they send papers flying and almost knock you off your feet.
“Everyone, get back!” Hongjoong yells, a ball of flame ready in his hand.
“Who are you, and what do you seek?” A voice echoes through the hall, deep and ancient. It takes a moment for you to recognize that it belongs to the owl itself; its beak never opens, yet somehow it speaks.
Not sensing any malicious intent, Hongjoong lets his fire dissipate. He hesitates for a moment, uncharacteristically uncertain, before replying, “An hourglass.”
Your breath catches in your throat, and the world seems to crumble around you. An hourglass…?
Untangling your fingers from Wooyoung’s, you disappear into a corner of the room, trying to calm your racing thoughts. He moves to follow you, the instinct to do so seeming as natural as a flower searching for the sun, but you stop him with a small shake of your head. You try to ignore the thrum of pain that shoots through you at his wounded expression.
“We have many of those here.” The owl’s voice reverberates through you. “Along with thousands of other treasures. The library and all of its resources are at your disposal. But beware—if you spend too much time here, you will become like one of the Inklings. An echo of your former selves, lost to the books until the end of time.”
Then, as if it was never alive at all, the owl turns back into solid stone, leaving a final whisper of warning behind. “And you cannot take anything out of here, or else there will be terrible consequences.”
Chaos erupts. Seonghwa rushes over to Hongjoong, a harsh expression on his face as he whispers something under his breath. You hear the others loudly discussing what this means for their journey thus far, whether or not all this time has been wasted. Wooyoung looks over to you again and starts to head in your direction but is stopped by San who pulls him into one of the many ongoing conversations.
With everyone distracted, you slip away into a small corridor. You hurry through rows of shelves and display cases, the sight of them blurring together. Your heartbeat pounds in your ears, and the panic you managed to fight down earlier is clawing at your throat.
An hourglass.
The Cromer.
Can they really be looking for the exact same thing as you? For the same thing that can buy your freedom?
“Y/N!”
Wooyoung.
You turn, and the sight of him alone is enough to make the tears finally spill over. He immediately rushes to your side, wrapping you in his arms. He hugs you to his chest, squishing his cheek against the side of your head, and you have never felt more safe. More loved.
Can you bring yourself to betray him? To betray all of them?

Oh my goodness now I can't stop thinking about the fact that there's a possibility of someone finding out that Jak is sentient. Either him celebrating eerily humanely after he wins a particularly hard fight, or Pandora trying to comfort him after a loss(how often do you see bots getting comforted after a battle, eh?), OR the people(person?) who made Pandora quit legal bot fights (or someone else entirely, bitter that they lost to ur OCs in the underground battle) trying to undermine her, collecting footage and overanalysing it until they figure out that something isn't right...
- 💐 (thinking thoughts.........)
see the fun thing about this ask is that it has some layers to it!
first of all- JAK, while still having some tells that he's not fully AI, at a certain point is pretty comfortably able to fly just under the radar of most people, because while bots being too human is absolutely grounds to get them expunged from their rings, bots having personalities is NOT a crime. Often times bot fighters will code in some rudimentary personality codes to make their bots more likeable, encourage people to bet on them, etc etc. Because of this, JAK is actually pretty popular in his ring because his personality seems so pronounced in comparison to others.
A lot of spectators in the underground rings tend not to look too deep into stuff, the nature of these being illegal prize fights often attracts people of all stripes, though the most common are either those who appreciate the sport, or just garden variety robogore sadists who like seeing bots get obliterated for fun.
That's not to say there haven't been close calls though...
in fact.... this is a good chance to mention that TECHNICALLY..... JAK's cover has, in a way, already been blown.

One of his competitors already thinks there's something up with him.

After giving the episode Boxed Up Fury! a second chance (and third and fourth watch), not only did I find Box Ghost to be hilarious in his over-the-top way; I think Pandora could have been the ghost that convinced Jack and possibly Maddie that ghosts can be sentient beings who mean well, like they do.
I'm referring to how after Pandora made her little speech about how she created her famous box to trap malevolent ghosts too make the ghost zone and earth safer; Jake offered to share his s'mores supplies with her when she says beating up the box ghost worked up an appetite. I repeat, canon Jack Fenton offered a sweet treat to a ghost, a sincere gesture.
I think it would take a ghost Jack and Maddie could relate to on multiple levels and like at first impression to chip away at their "ghosts are always bad even if they do something good" mindset. Pandora invented a box to contain destructive ghosts, just like they would. She added a 'spew' switch, which is totally something Jack would do. Accent and outfit and limbs notwithstanding, she looks and talks a lot like Maddie does. She is also humongous for a humanoid ghost, and Jack is a humongous human. After all the zapping, the way she tells the box ghost he will have to clean up the messes he made and apologize, it's in a parental style that they would also relate too.
Pandora is a ghost I could see canon Jack and Maddie chat with in that moment, too Danny's delight. Maybe on the drive home from the park they can entertain the possibility that Phantom could be sincere in his protection of Amity Park's humans after all. And since Phantom Planted is a universally ignored episode, the last thing Jack or Maddie say or do about ghosts after this episode is a shrink-growth experiment on some cranky little blob ghosts. So their attitudes towards ghosts could have softened a tad, thanks to Pandora.

God. I just wanna know what Dustin could’ve told the Hellfire boys about Steve ya know. Like how could he have talked their ears off about him being a badass without bringing up his upside down related heroics? I mean did he tell them that Steve Harrington repeatedly saved his life but that he couldn’t go into details because it was classified information? Did they all roll their eyes at his obvious dramatics and overflowing imagination and tried to humor him?? And now Eddie tries to recall everything Dustin had said, everything he had dismissed and takes a moment to really understand the implications.
Eddie Munson would love to be able to say that he’d believe just about anything. He was an open minded kind of guy, nerdy, loved the fantasy genre, believed in aliens because it made sense for aliens to exist since the universe was just so infinitely big, and it’d be just so very stupid to think that Earth was the only little marble to hold sentient life among it all.
Believed in big foot purely because it’d be fucking hilarious if the guy actually existed but was just like. A really big hairy nudist that liked to terrorize locals. He’d seen a few bears in his time, not the grizzly kind either.
He loved his cryptids, Nessie and all her lake lookalikes was one of his favourites, just this really big water dinosaur thing that was actually probably just a whales dick breaching the water in all those photos, but whatever. It was funny to believe that it could be, even if his belief stemmed mostly from the idea that he could loudly declare with his whole chest that he believed in them to watch gleefully as people tried to convince him they weren’t real.
Harmless mischief really.
He would love to be able to say he believed just about anything.
Anything, he’d believe anything, anything except for whatever the fuck his new little sheep kept spouting about one infamous Steve “The Hair” Harrington after Eddie made the foolish mistake of innocently asking why Steve Harrington’s unmistakable Beemer was parked outside on the curb a little too loudly, mostly to himself.
“He drives us home.” Mike had answered the rhetorical question as he shrugged his bag over his shoulder, offering no further explanation.
“He does what now?” Eddie had to press for more, then it was Dustin who did the oversharing. And it was Dustin who never stopped sharing.
It was like he’d opened pandoras goddamn box only instead of all the worlds suffering it only contained Dustin’s endless gushing stream of stories that the others just politely ignored since Dustin only ever aimed them at him. So yeah, the analogy fit, it was still mostly suffering.
Steve took on a whole pack of wild ravenous dogs to protect them once, not demon dogs, Dustin was careful with that, but dogs that cornered them in the junkyard while Dustin had been trying to find the one that ate his poor cat for some such reason or another.
He’d embellished a little of course, the dogs totally had rabies, Steve was basically a hero who put his life on the line to protect them all. Eddie just scoffed in disbelief, as if Steve would risk putting a single hair atop his glorious head in danger, no sir.
Not even for a bunch of kids.
Then there was the Billy thing, may the douchecanoe rest in peace, Lucas even piped up there, mentioned that Steve had gotten his ass handed to him sure, but it was entirely to keep Billy away from him. Steve had put himself between monsters and those kids multiple times that night. Eddie could… sort of believe that one.
Steve was a douchebag sure, but he had turned up around that time with a real fucked up face like he’d gone toe to toe with a brick wall a few times and nobody really knew why.
The Steve had won a fight against a Russian soldier story was a fun one. Dustin wouldn’t elaborate on that one, said it was hush hush, it’d just kind of come out that one while Dustin was adamantly declaring Steve’s badassery, much to Eddie’s own adamant disbelief, but Dustin had quickly changed the subject anyway, not that Eddie was going to pry for more information on a made up story.
Usually he’d love to watch a lie spiral out of control until the edges inevitably frayed and it all fell apart.
But listening to one of his favourite little sheep go on and on and on and on about Steeeeeeeve Harrington, about how badass he was, about how cool he was, about how he looked after them, about how he took them to the arcade, and kept them safe from all kinds of dumb shit, about how he gave him advice that got him his girlfriend (Eddie hadn’t believed she was real at first either until Mike and Lucas had in unison piped up that actually, she was.) that Steve had been cool enough to drive him to the snowball and help him get ready, that he was basically like a big brother he didn’t know he’d needed, or an extra mother.
It was exhausting, and annoying as shit listening to him try and convince him to talk to Steve, get to know him, maybe make friends because “you’d both get along so well! I’m telling you I’m RIGHT about this, trust me! Why does nobody ever trust me? You trust me right?”
"Pfft, sure thing, shrimp." Nope.
Whatever, it wasn’t like he’d ever have to talk to Steve.
Until he does. Until he sees a sweaty, damp, dirty, and bleeding Steve "WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK" Harrington bite a demon bats tentacle tail off. Until he sees him splat that same bat into the floor over and over again until it's brains are nothing but a smear, and then watches as that same bat is then torn in half by pure brute strength and wow all those conversations come rushing back to Eddie like a tidal wave all at once that he can only look upon in somewhat flush-faced awe because,
"Holy shit. You really are a badass." Stupid Dustin, always right about shit.

I want to know about the ouroboros AUs very badly
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The amount of words I'm about to type is gonna make me look INSANE but in my defense I had to think about this every day for like a YEAR OKAY.
Island AU Spiderette AU: This AU operates on the premise that the Vault considers any structure c!Sam builds with the intent to imprison someone as an extension of Pandora — an extra limb. In Ouroboros, Sam was planning to kidnap Michael and keep him at the island house in order to lure Ranboo to the prison (as in canon), but he doesn’t have a chance to actually go through with that plan because he gets distracted by, y’know, Pandora becoming a sentient eldritch horror. So basically, Island AU diverges from Ouroboros in the final chapter. When Dream fakes a suicide attempt to force the Vault to spit him and Sam out, Pandora doesn’t dump them in the prison lobby…it dumps them in Sam’s island house. Essentially, the Vault considers that house (which Sam intended to keep Michael in, ostensibly as a hostage) to be a type of prison, and thus, an extension of Pandora’s Vault. So, Sam takes the only course of action that makes sense to him: he treats Dream’s injuries and officially incarcerates him in the island house. It’s supposed to be temporary, but after a while Sam is resigned to the possibility that he may never return Dream to Pandora Proper. And y’know what? This is fine! This is fine, actually. Dream is still his prisoner, Sam can still be warden here.
In the beginning, the situation is very similar to his and Dream’s dynamic in Pandora. Sam keeps Dream in the little room meant for Michael. The house isn’t really set up for full-on incarceration, so Sam has to make modifications. He can’t exactly install a lava chamber, but he adds chains to the walls so he can keep the prisoner secure. Michael’s room doesn’t have space to add a desk or a cauldron or a toilet, so Dream must be permitted to leave a couple times a day. Dream moves around the house with Sam’s permission and occasionally helps with chores/maintenance/daily tasks (a freedom which Sam justifies as “prison labor” lmfao)
After a while, the two of them fall into a bizarre domesticity: they are essentially cohabiting, but Dream is still Sam’s prisoner and Sam is still Dream’s warden. It’s weird. It’s tense and awful, but it’s also kind of okay sometimes, compared to the prison. Dream eventually hatches a plan to escape, but things get complicated. Honestly, a lot of the “plot” for this AU hinges on the idea of Pandora’s sentience, and the fact that people in-the-know can basically fast-travel between buildings on the server as long as those buildings are limbs of Pandora. It gets very technical so I won’t bore y’all with all that.
Ouroboros Extended Cut AU: In this AU, c!Dream does not attempt to fake his own suicide in order to force Pandora to release him, as he does in Ouroboros. The idea occurs to him, but he has extreme reservations about actually going through with it: what if the plan works too well and he actually kills himself? These reservations aren’t unfounded, given the intense anxieties he has surrounding death in canon. Sam can’t revive him because he has not given Sam the book. So basically, Sam and Dream spend way, way, wayyyy longer trapped inside the prison. I’m talking at least another year or two. And the longer they spend there, the weirder shit gets. This AU leans really heavily into the horror elements of Ouroboros. Dream eventually figures out how to communicate effectively with the Vault. Sam also communicates with the Vault, but far less effectively because he’s Sam and he fucking sucks. There’s plenty of bizarre space-time continuum stuff. Also, the prison gets really good at recreating illusions of people who have spent a lot of time in the Vault in the past. The strongest illusions are capable of speech and sometimes even conversation, though they appear to have a limited variety of possible responses. Quackity is one of those people, but it’s Tommy’s illusion that’s the strongest because he wasn’t just resurrected inside Pandora (like Ghostbur), he actually died there as well.
As things get more horrifying inside the Vault, Sam and Dream become progressively more desensitized to that horror; it changes their dynamic somewhat, because they have to be pragmatic as hell if they want to make it out one day. The Vault wants to keep them alive, and yet is fundamentally hostile to living. Dream is allowed way more freedom (under Sam’s supervision) for reasons of mutual survival. He and Sam become more codependent. I probably will never write this AU down, but if I did, I’d want to incorporate a bunch of minecraft gameplay and environment elements from the big spooky 1.17 Caves & Cliffs update: the warden creatures, the ruins, the Deep Dark biome, the skulk, etc.
Timewarp AU: One of the big decisions I had to make when writing Ouroboros was whether time inside the prison should pass at the same rate as time passes outside the prison. If you’ve read the fic, you know that time inside the Vault passes slower after the prison gains sentience, so Sam and Dream spend months in there but only a few days have passed in the outside world. However, if I’d decided to have time pass in the prison at the same rate it passes on the rest of the server, that would mean Dream completely misses Techno’s rescue. In this AU, Techno shows up on 11/28 to break Dream out and finds the prison seemingly abandoned. After having a thorough look around, he leaves. His thought process: Dream must’ve found some other way to escape! Makes sense! If escape was possible, why would he wait for Techno?
Because of this, when Dream pulls his fake suicide stunt and forces the Vault to spit them out, his incarceration continues as normal because he missed the jailbreak. Ngl, this AU is pretty bleak because Dream is alone and locked up for a much longer period than in canon. (I actually ended up NOT going with this option when writing Ouroboros because my good friend aaron ringenthusiast told me very plainly that any version of events where Dream misses Techno’s big rescue was too depressing to contemplate!)
Eventually the Syndicate get suspicious, of course. It’s been over six months since the failed jailbreak and if Dream really did escape prior to that, it’s weird that he hasn’t tried to contact Techno or reach out to any other Syndicate members…right? Eventually, Phil and Techno are contacted by Punz, who’s forced to out themself as Dream’s ally because they haven’t heard from Dream in an alarming amount of time and are frankly confused. Tbh, I haven’t decided where this AU goes after that, but I think it’d be neat if Dream still gets rescued or maybe even escapes Pandora by himself somehow. I'm fond of stories where Dream is ultimately the one to save himself.
The final AU is Amnesia Island. It’s similar to Island AU Spiderette in that after the events of Ouroboros, Sam manages to move Dream from Pandora onto his island and imprisons him there. However, Dream is in really bad shape. In this version of events, his suicide fake-out was unsuccessful in that he accidentally does kill himself. The Vault still spits them out, but the blood transfusion comes too late and it looks like Dream is actually gonna die – bummer! That’s not what either of them wanted! Luckily, Sam has a secret: he’s already created a clone of Dream’s body (without his consent or knowledge, because of course.) So when Sam realizes Dream is gonna die FR fr, he uses the power of (canonical!) cool awesome unethical science to transfer Dream’s mind to the new body just before Dream dies. This all happens in the triage ward in Pandora. After the process is complete, he whisks his prisoner away to the island.
All should be well, theoretically. Except, uh oh! When Dream wakes up in his new body, he…isn’t Dream. At least, he isn’t Sam’s Dream. Something went wrong, either with the cloning process or the transfer of consciousness. New Dream has clearly got the same personality as old Dream, but minus the traumas he’s recently acquired. Huge chunks of his memory seem to be gone. He doesn’t recall who he is, who Sam is, L’Manberg, the Disc Saga, any of the events of the past couple years. It’s all gone.
Sam’s reaction to the amnesia is…messy. First, he doesn’t believe Dream, thinks he’s faking it. It takes an unpleasant interrogation to finally convince Sam that Dream really doesn’t remember anything. After denial comes anger: this version of Dream is both familiar and alien; he reminds Sam more of the man who built the Community House than the prisoner! Which means all the time and effort Sam spent conditioning the prisoner to fear him and respect him and obey him is wasted. Sam gave up parts of his soul for that deference, that submission. And now it’s just gone. He’s not happy about it. Next comes the bargaining, and finally, acceptance, or something that passes for acceptance until you hold it up to the light. According to Sam’s worldview, Dream is fundamentally corrupt. Even if amnesiac Dream doesn’t remember doing terrible things, he still did them, right? Which means Sam still has a responsibility to keep him locked up. The warden is still needed! This is a huge source of relief, since it preserves Sam’s self-concept.
Only…the situation is a bit more convoluted now. No version of Dream is innocent in Sam’s eyes, which means amnesiac Dream cannot be innocent. But the amnesia complicates things. For one, this Dream doesn’t have nearly as many reasons to fear and hate Sam, which means he’s openly affectionate — helpful, even. Sam appreciates that, and his appreciation throws a wrench in his plan to reincarcerate the prisoner. This is post-Ouroboros Sam, so he is aware on some level that he loves Dream, though he perceives that love as an unforgivable weakness. Not to mention he and Dream have been sleeping together for months and Sam misses that. Given these compounding factors, Sam opts not to punish Dream as frequently or as harshly as he did when they were in Pandora. It’s not that he regrets his former treatment of Dream (after all, Sam has never had any qualms about treating a lover sternly, has he?) but he does have a vested interest in encouraging Dream’s affection. He wants Dream to be obedient, and obedience is an easier thing to offer when you think you’re in love. So Sam does what he has to: he lies.
He doesn’t exactly tell Dream the two of them are married, not quite, but it’s heavily implied. Sam does everything he can to avoid verbally defining their relationship in such clear terms, while simultaneously doing all he can to make Dream believe that the two of them are in an established, committed relationship. It’s not so far from the truth, Sam tells himself. After all, what is the relationship between warden and prisoner if not committed?
In short, their life together on the island is fucked upppp. The two of them cohabitate and eventually resume sleeping together. Dream is not allowed to leave the house without Sam’s supervision, and he’s never allowed near the shoreline under any circumstances. He’s not allowed to send or receive letters or communications of any kind. Dream’s also forbidden from touching or picking up weapons and tools, lest he use them to harm someone (or himself. Sam has nightmares about watching Dream stab himself in Ouroboros.) The list of rules goes on, and the consequences for breaking them are…varied and creative. Dream understands, on some level, that Sam hurts him, that being around Sam is frightening and stressful. But Sam is also his partner, a man Dream thinks he loves. A man he feels comfortable with, sometimes. Dream has been told in simple terms that he’s dangerous, that he needs the warden’s guidance in order to keep everyone else safe. Dream doesn’t remember who “everyone else” is, but he has no reason to wish them ill, whoever they are. So he’s also grateful, in that sense, that Sam is willing to help him not hurt people. It is a gratitude that Sam has manufactured entirely, but it’s a powerful force nonetheless.
So, in summary, they’re codependent as hell and their life together is scary and bad. Don’t worry, it gets better but first it gets worse. As time passes, Dream feels more and more often that the way Sam treats him is unfair, which is objectively true. He has misgivings, but with very few concrete memories to base them on, these misgivings don’t serve him particularly well. However, after about a year of island living, his memories do start to come back gradually. This creates problems. Sam is quite happy with their new arrangement, so Dream’s memories coming back is a nightmare scenario for him. When he begins to notice little clues, it makes him incredibly paranoid, which in turn causes him to act…rashly. There is one notable incident where a bird dies by accidentally flying smack into a window, as birds sometimes do. Dream calmly picks it up and steps around the back of the house to bury it in the garden. But when Sam comes to check on him a few minutes later, he finds the bird alive and flapping, as if it was never hurt. Dream tells Sam he doesn’t remember how he brought the bird back to life; he can’t explain it, he just knew. Sam doesn’t believe him. It’s a rough night.
Of all the AUs, Amnesia Island is probably the one that’s rotted my brain the worst. It's definitely the most detailed so I could probably go on about it forever, but this post is already way too long so I’ll conclude by adding that in none of these AUs does Dream ever cave and give Sam the revive book. He’s holding onto that motherfucker, always and forever. Amen.

Ok, so I've read a lot of stories where the Lazarus Pits are corrupted ectoplasm or something similar, but what about this: they actually have nothing to do with each other at all.
Justice League Dark are introducing their new member Phantom to the JL, and he's explaining about the Infinite Realms and its citizens. He has a slide show of the main rogues and ways to contain them, who can be trusted to come and assist if there's a problem and he's not available, what weapons do what etc etc. The next slide pops up and is of the actual Infinite Realms, maybe Pandora as a way to show these are real, sentient beings, and everyone who has had experience with the Pits perks up.
That swirling green in the background looks an awful lot like the Lazarus Waters, but due to the photo distortion, they can't really tell for sure. After the presentation, someone flags him down to talk about these Pits, and Danny is suitably concerned. Cue a mission to a known location to observe it and see if it's his problem or if there's anything he can do about it. Danny gets there and can tell at a glance it has nothing to do with ectoplasm. He doesn't know what it IS, but it's not anything related to him.
He doesn't know where these toxic radioactive chemical pools came from, but he definitely thinks that people should stop swimming in it.
I dunno, maybe he meets Jason as Phantom, and Danny has zero reaction to him. The same goes for the other direction, Jason feels no different around him.
Maybe Batsy got his hopes up for a cure for Jason, and there could be a whump fic there. Something where they get into a screaming match, and Jason says, "I was never broken! Why can't you see that this is who I am now?"

AO3 is down.....
it’s getting dark out....
You know what that means. DANNY PHANTOM WORD BLAST TIME!
tl;dr GHOST LAIRS ARE SENTIENT?? (danny phantom lore questions)
So on the one hand we have ghost cores, which are really fun and have so much lore potential, and we definitely need more on those.
On the other hand.....we have GHOSTLY LAIRS.
An entire realm, varying in size and shape but having one purpose, and that is providing a haven for its ghost in the most reflective way possible?? A weird kind of mirror image of a ghost’s core traits (not “ghostcore traits, just the main principles of a ghost’s personality and values.....and also some actual ghostcore traits xD) manifesting in a physical manner?? like DUDE. COME ON. I would love to have a lair!
Does every single creature turned ghost develop a lair? Is there something comparable to a “pre-made ghostcore” theory that could exist for ghostly lairs? Is there a chance that lairs have some sort of sentience to them, in order to better adapt and mold to the ghost that it’s protecting?? Or is it more that a ghost’s subconscious is constantly managing and informing the lair and its adaptation and development? Like their subconscious self manifests almost separately from the ghost, and is active at all times to maintain a lair even when the ghost isn’t inside it?
And what do ghostly lairs actually mean for the concept of community and communal engagement in the Infinite Realms?? From what we see and what we understand, there tends to be a common thread of the zone housing a number of common spaces for ghosts to work in and out of, in order to establish a more relatable sense of socialization and community - Walker’s Prison, Pariah Dark’s Keep, wherever Pandora operates out of, the Far Frozen etc.... I totally understand the sentiment of relatability, thought I can’t help but ask: if there exists a space that is made perfectly representative of you, that provides for your every need and comforts you and keeps you safe, and is constantly ADAPTING to how your needs change, then would you really need spaces in which to conduct socialization? Would you invite other ghosts to your lair? Or would remain comfortably private, conducting your ghostly life in a manner that best suites you inside your lair?
Although the obvious answers to the above questions would probably involve discussions of loneliness, social isolation, and a need/desire for interpersonal relationships, and maybe even thoughts of needed neutral ground....why build physical representations of real world locations to observe these needs, when your personal sanctum, as a reflection of your desires and of you yourself, would be just as lovely a place to host friends and just as hostile a place to host enemies? And if every ghost maintained a lair....there’s an infinite number of possibilities hidden behind an infinite number of doors, and an ever expanding space for even more lairs and doors.
Perhaps I’m thinking of a ghost’s lair in the wrong way - perhaps, rather than a home for the ghost, they’re more like....the physical manifestation of the safest, most comforting part of their own mind. An inner sanctum, as opposed to a daily abode.
In that case, what determines how a lair manifests and operates? Where a ghost’s core may possibly be said to develop based on a number of factors -- personal values, circumstances of core development, life choices and life course, possible beings of core pre-determination -- a ghost’s lair, while partially determined by personality, life course, and values, may develop its base structure and operations based entirely on a ghost’s Obsession.
I feel that Obsessions can be directly linked to the idea of the “safest part of the mind” - a ghost’s Obsession is so inherent to their being that partaking in and fulfilling said Obsession seems to be an integral part of ghost feeling safe and comfortable and relieved. It almost doesn’t make sense to separate an Obsession from something like an inner sanctum!
.....this is a long post ya’ll PLEASE STOP ME AHHHH
Some questions for you to ponder:
What determines how a Ghost Lair manifests and operates?
Are Ghost Lairs more like a ghost’s home, or a ghost’s sanctuary?
What maintains a Lair? Is there a chance that the Lair itself develops sentience in order to provide for their ghost? Or is it possible that a ghost’s subconscious manifests permanently to inform the Lair’s development and ability to adapt?
If there as many Lairs as there are ghosts and ghostly creatures, why does the Ghost Zone need permanent, community spaces for socialization?
Is a Lair structurally based on a Ghost’s Obsession, and if so, will the physical environment of a Lair ever change? The ghost may be able to manipulate myriad aspects of the Lair, but would they ever be able to overhaul the environment of the Lair itself, the very landscape it exists in, or no?
What would your Lair look like? Or if you have a Danny Phantom OC, what would their Lair look like?
Wow I am super long-winded. I just think that Danny having a Lair is pretty neat!! A cozy space that’s mostly cool in temperature to provide for his cold core, that’s probably filled with the most amazing star gazing locations, and an absolute kaleidoscope of galaxies and nebulas that he can fly in and be himself! ^.^
